Internet History of Your PSN Profile

Recommended Posts

Today, I had the honor of whipping out the Internet Archive Wayback Machine and looking at my profile from about five years ago up to now. I really had no idea how far I progressed in only a matter of a year once I really started trophy hunting again in late 2015. So while I'll share the links, what about your profiles? How far have you grown since being on the site?

Check your past profiles here by putting your PSN ID after the psnprofiles.com slash mark to see what you get and post your results!

https://web-beta.archive.org/web/*/https://psnprofiles.com/

Here is the results I got.

https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20120704051544/https://psnprofiles.com/HeavensLightfire (July 4, 2012)

I only joined the site about a few days from when this was saved. PSTrophies wasn't doing it for me so I thought I would give PSNProfiles a try and the system really stuck. At this point, my completion rate was at 44.43%. I only completed two games back then! Kind of sad but I was just starting out. I do miss the feature that let you know how many PSNFriends you had!

https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20130629163931/https://psnprofiles.com/HeavensLightfire (June 29, 2013)

Completion rate at this point was at 59.62%. I had moved in September 2012 so most of 2013 was spent playing games I forgot I had. I'm a bit upset I didn't go for the Midnight Club Los Angeles trophies at this time since you can't obtain then anymore :(

https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20140818190819/https://psnprofiles.com/HeavensLightfire (August 18, 2014)

Completion rate sadly dropped down to 49.25%. I started a new job at this point so I started acquiring more games. Sadly, I really got stuck on Heavy Rain for most of the month of August which really limited my exposure to other games at that time and others were left unfinished.

https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20150921021022/https://psnprofiles.com/HeavensLightfire (September 21, 2015)

Completion drops AGAIN to 44.92%. 2015 was a dark time for trophy hunting. I really didn't know which game I wanted to play and I was starting college so I experimented every week with a new game since I was stuck doing Stats homework three nights per week. The game I enjoyed the most was Final Fantasy XIII-2 at the time before Star Wars Battlefront rolled around and Grand Theft Auto IV made up the most of early 2015. This was also the frustrating year I gave up on Mafia II, The Evil Within, and the Saboteur due to frustration.

https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20160122084050/https://psnprofiles.com/HeavensLightfire (January 22, 2016)

Completion rate hits it's lowest point at 41.64%. This is the point I started to get back into trophy hunting after my experience with XBLAZE Code Embyro. I just about played 100 games at this point but not even 10 were completed. My new goal was to play as much games as possible out of my backlog instead of dwelling on games that remained unfinished on my profile.

https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20161008082434/https://psnprofiles.com/HeavensLightfire (October 8, 2016) - Most Recent Database Save

In a few months, my completion rate rises back up to 51.90%. Fall 2016 was a very successful start for me after I spent most of the summer only on a handful of games (Aegis Of Earth, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD & Command & Conquer 3). In addition, I went from 7 completed games up to 27. All and all a success.

https://psnprofiles.com/HeavensLightfire - CURRENT

As of now, my completion rate is at 63.13%. I'm not too far from my goal at 75% completion rate but what strikes me is the amount of trophies I gained in the months between October 8 and now. I went from 2,687 total trophies to 4,168 and my platinum number went from 29 to 66. However, my number of games only went from 102 to 147 so there needs to be improvement there if I'm ever going to reach 300 by the end of the year. I'll update this every month to show progress or at least until internet archive, archive's today's page!

Coolest thing for me was watching my completion percentage gradually go up and plummet down for a year  and seeing the rarest trophies slide in and out in rarity
Comparing my profile from the earliest entry to now, it's pretty interesting. I went up the US leaderboard 4,000 spots and the global leaderboard by about 12,000 spots. I somehow managed to get over 600 more unearned trophies though lol

Can't be bothered posting every one there is of me, so I'll just do one a year.

2014. 181 in Australia. https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20141215161917/https://psnprofiles.com:80/stoogebag

2015. 137 in Australia. https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20150828124818/https://psnprofiles.com:80/stoogebag

2016. No longer in leaderboard, but nearly 100 plats so https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20161221160527/https://psnprofiles.com/stoogebag

Fuck man, the old layout was fine. I have no problems with the new one and don't care enough to complain, but fuck the old layout was dope.

I had a lot of them... And honestly never done one myself, so idk who has and for what purpose. :P Goes back to 2012

I could see the old web designs too, and when all my DLCs were ultra rare. haha had plenty of like 0.5%s ;p even a 0.37% or something from UC3! xD That old system just doesn't work well.

Don't these things go random as well? They also use crawl data, like this: https://archive.org/details/alexacrawls

Gotta love the first snapshot taken on my page, from over a year before I joined myself... xD

Anyway, here's one from early on when I joined the site:

Here's the last one on there:

Here's the one from right now:

I joined PSNP in March 23, 2014

May 12, 2014 https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20140512061416/https://psnprofiles.com/Juzota (9 Platinums)

March 21, 2015 https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20150321043804/https://psnprofiles.com/Juzota  (26 Platinums)

April 21, 2016 https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20160421084837/https://psnprofiles.com/Juzota (47 Platinums)

Now I have 78 Plats, but there's not any snapshots from 2017.

It's strange to look back to the past. I was so innocent and pure little boy back then. :D

Dec. 1, 2012 https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20121201063747/https://psnprofiles.com/Jay_Cash -My rarest trophies were mostly DLC trophies before "DLC owners" became a thing

Jan. 31, 2013 https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20130131125635/https://psnprofiles.com/Jay_Cash -Trophies more properly displayed, had 36 Plats at the time

Jan. 13, 2014 https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20140113220456/https://psnprofiles.com/Jay_Cash -Site looks mostly like it does today. 56 Plats and 4000 Trophies

Jan. 24, 2015 https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20150124091605/https://psnprofiles.com/Jay_Cash -91 Plats, 5600 Trophies

Oct. 6, 2016 https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20161006211150/https://psnprofiles.com/Jay_Cash -Most recent, 141 Plats, 8000 Trophies

And bonus Nov. 2, 2013 https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20131102020127/https://psnprofiles.com/Jay_Cash -I was curious for a long time how rare GTA V's plat was when I first got it because I didn't pay much attention back then, and this is as close of answer as I'll get.

Really cool find! Will probably mess around with it more to see how rare certain trophies were over time and stuff.

The only interesting thing is that I somehow managed to raise my completion rate from the 50% range to the 70% range over the course of 4 years even with all those horrible games I played in between like Digimon All-Stars Rumble, Uncharted 1, Travel Bug, or games I just suck at like all the fighting games. xD

Only interesting thing:

I can exactly see the point where I decided to boot up all the unplayed games to see what I still have in my backlog:

To everyone claiming to have no recent snapshots: you know that you can ask for them yourself on the main page, right?

https://web.archive.org/

Is that how you got one from this year? So, that means someone viewed my profile, and saved a screenshot of it for all the ones listed? ...Why?

And here's what it looks like today, then: https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20170426090641/https://psnprofiles.com/DamagingRob

People can either manually create a snapshot of a site for a given point but there's also a bot/crawler who visits websites from time to time and conserve the state of the website at that given point:

Jup, said this to MMDE somewhere earlier in the thread. That's how a snapshot of my profile came to be from a year before I even joined the site for reals.

https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20160310174808/https://psnprofiles.com/FarSideOfSaturn - Just over 13 months ago in March 2016. I noticed WWE 2K15 has shifted from a B rank back then to an A rank now without me earning a trophy

https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20160510231922/https://psnprofiles.com:80/FarSideOfSaturn - May 2016.

https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20160711004239/https://psnprofiles.com:80/FarSideOfSaturn - June 2016.

https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20160910024658/https://psnprofiles.com:80/FarSideOfSaturn - September 2016. I'd finally had enough of the Last of Us sitting there at E rank and hid it  That reminds me, I need to go back and finish that.

So from the last screenie seven months ago. + 9 games. + 9 platinums. + 10 completed games. + 16% completion. - 70 unearned trophies. + 0.16 trophies per day. - 2% rarity. + 290,000 world rank and + 26,000 country rank.

Reading that makes me feel a little better about how shit my profile is :awesome:
