Can't really find a thing to dislike but there's also not much positive to say. It just seems to be yet another JRPG from that era. *duck and hide* I respect your (totally wrong ) opinion. While I'm biased, as it is my favorite Final Fantasy game along with FF4, I think the greatest part about it is the story that has yet to unfold for you as well as the sphere board, making it (for the time) a very unique feature that makes leveling your characters abilities much more fun than the original system of allocating X stat points among your stats every level you gain. It is a pain for the platinum, though, as it's the reason for around 70% of the grind because you have to fill all the slots in the board for all of your characters. Besides that it's a fairly basic game, especially considering the battle system but I like that as well, honestly. I like being able to make a composed choice in battle without having to worry about some timer running out or whatever. Also, if you don't also want to farm the best sphere orbs to put into the slots, taking you another really long grind, take a look at a guide before answering the question that an aeon called Yojimbo will ask you. If you happen to stumble upon him, that is. Trust me, if you find that you're sick of the level grind, this will at least cut out the sphere grind. A bit off topic but I was really happy that I was able to leave my internship an hour early because they ran out of tasks for me to do but then my train was 75 minutes late. One less hour of playing Catherine for me today. I never understood why Germans are praised for their punctuality, nothing is punctual here, especially not trains.
Metal Slime King
Sure this will oust me as a scrub but I only used Yojimbo on that last super boss and he one-shot him on the 2nd reload. Also used the cheese method on the second super boss, the one that dies after 256 turns with doom, just kept using life3 in an infinite loop. Scrub-a-dub-dub, lol.

I'm not very good at it, but it is definitely the most polished of games like it I have played (Dead Nation, Helldivers). If you ever want to play together hit me up.
Popular Post ImBossy83
#1 Game Read Dead Redemption I wanted to start with a bang so i picked up Red Dead Redemption as my first gane. With a Metacritic score of 95 this is one of the 50 highest ranked games of all times. That bags the question : Why haven't i played this game already? Seriously, why? Back in, ye old day's i was a PC gamer that's why. And since i started trophy hunting i simply dreaded the multiplayer part. Initial impression It's much better than i thought. It's the first rockstar game since GTA San Andreas where i immediately understood the main protagonists Motivation. The story starts of a little slow but that is pretty much expected from a Western. The cinematics so far where good but i would want them to go out even more in the direction of the opening scene. One of the things i like about Western are these annoyingly long shots of scenery that are basically just there to build up tension and i like to see more of those. Played for about 2 hours(the last 30 minutes trying to win a Poker Match) and i got one trophy so far.
Popular Post voodoo_eyes
It's somewhat early, but the third day just started for me and I finished both games. So I'll just wrap them up already. Game #1 - Black The Fall - Review This game felt like it tried to get a piece of the pie of the success that games like Little Nightmares or Inside had. Unfortunately it ended up being somewhat underwhelming. Similar to the previously mentioned games, it's a side.scroller. That's pretty much all what these games have in common though. Anyway, let's go over all the aspect this game has or doesn't have to offer. The game looks good, even though for the most part it's set in a greyish/metallic environment. To be fair it fits the setting and eventually you'll get to see the outdoors as well. Speaking of setting... the game leaves you in the dark all the way until the end. I was a bit off with my interpretation that I've gotten from the few bits and pieces I had seen of the game. I'll try not to give away too much, but I'll say this much. It is about people being oppressed and refers to a historical event. There is no music whatsoever in this game, which was a bit disappointing. Instead it's focused on sound effects. There is a small section in the game, where you have to navigate through the dark and let sound dictate if you can move forward or not. Regarding the gameplay, that's where it ends up feeling lackluster. You move from left to right, while trying to avoid getting spotted. This leads to a lot of waiting for enemy patterns and wait for them to look away. Occasionally there will be puzzles that you need to do in order to be able to get past said enemies. The puzzles aren't all that difficult, but may sometimes result in going the trial and error route. That's because at times it's impossible to know what the exact result of hitting a switch will be. Eventually you'll get a companion, who you control with a remote. It can be a bit fiddly to control him, as sometimes he just doesn't go where you want him to. You can also control some friendly NPCs and tell them to use switches or open doors. The biggest problem is that there is no set goal, no reason why to move forward. There is no exposition and that hurts the game and the end doesn't give a real sense of closure either. Something happens, but you don't know why it happens, or what the characters motivation was. It's all open to speculation. Overall it's a decent game, that I wouldn't pay full price for, especially because it's only about 3 hours long. (also) Game #1 - Devious Dungeon (PS4) - Review From one 3 hour game to the next. Now it's time to wrap up this 2D action-platformer. The graphics are 8-Bit and that's pretty much all there is to say about that. It's not much different with the music, that sounds like it's the same song playing over and over again, but doesn't actually become annoying. The meat of the game is the gameplay. What we have is a warrior (yep, there's no class selection), that needs to fight his way through 65 levels. The goal is to find the key in each level and get to the door, while either defeating or avoiding enemies and spikes. There are also boxes and vases you can break for gold and even secret areas that have either treasure chests or experience tomes. Initially there's the tutorial level and after that you'll have to get through segments of 3 main levels in order to get to the hub. That's where you can buy new armor, weapons and other equipment, as well as heal. If you die before beating three levels you'll have to start over from the last segment that you didn't beat. There are also 5 boss levels in total. The levels are fairly short and offer a decent variety of enemies. The main issue ends up being it's repetitiveness, as even with the dungeons being procedurally generated, the still feel very samey. Another minor issue are the hitboxes, that sometimes seem to be way off. That's something that can get really annoying if you're low on health and It's another decent game, that is at a far more reasonable price point, especially considering that it's cross-buy. Guess I'll spend today with downloading and installing all the free HDN Victory DLC, so that it's ready for tomorrow. Popular Post Beyondthegrave07
Game #1 - Crash Bandicoot Warped - Review Time spent: 3 - 3.5 hours 6/27 trophies - C rank Current Completion %: 68.05 ? 0.30% Impressions: Okay, let me start off that I was always more of a Spyro the Dragon fan than Crash Bandicoot fan. As a 10-year old child, I struggled to beat the Crash Bandicoot games and was able to only beat the 3rd one after having some assistance from my brother late in the game. Simply put, these games have always gave me trouble and unfortunately, the frustration continues 15 years later. I breezed through most of the first levels, but some of the levels were just frustrating me a little later on and being frustrated so much makes me not enjoy a game. I already beat the first remake and played through a little of the second one until I just got so frustrated that I stopped. I think eventually, the same thing is going to happen to this one. Out of the 3 hours I played, I spent probably 30 minutes + on two different levels. One of them was a motorcycle level where I just could not get 1st place after 20 tries and had to put down the controller and stop. Another level was this Arabian level, where I could not figure out how to get past a scorpion on the climbing section and even had a few glitched death (where I literally fell through the ground) on this level too. I WANT to like Crash, I really do. The characters are great, and I find some levels enjoyable, but sometimes the frustration is just too much for me. In a sense, maybe the game is a little TOO nostalgic for me... both the good and bad. As of now, I'll give it: ⭐⭐⭐✴️✴️ 3/5 - Okay Edited July 3, 2018 by Beyondthegrave07 Grammar

Even those that I would call all time favorites o' mine (Golden Sun 1, Wild Arms 3, Final Fantasy 8 & 9, Skies of Arcadia, Lufia 2) had a rather slow start. The problem is that I somehow haven't found a point that I really enjoy so far. Most of the cast that I can play with is a rather unsympathic bunch of douchebags for me. But I guess that will change as I'm now at Luca (right before my first Blitzball-game ever) and according to the guide book (the old Piggyback guide, which should be sufficient for the main story at least and which I mostly use for the item locations) I will meet up with Auron soon. And I'm not too worried about meeting Yojimbo or anything else right now. I will only find enough motivation (due to still feeling sick) to finish up the Luca-portion. I have the feeling that this would be a good cutoff point before I have to play the next game. 'm curious how Blitzball will turn out, though. I only read the tutorial dialogues and I already hate the fact that the fixed camera will change it's point of view from time to time. As for the Blitzball game, I don't remember the camera going crazy so you should be fine. I have severe motion sickness but I could play it without any problem. Bliztball is a great minigame although it becomes way less fun with all the grind to get Wakka's last weapon.

I guess that's also the reason why I'm curious about Kimahri and why I'm eager to finally play with Rikku. And it's good to hear that the camera doesn't cause any problems. I just found it irritating that it switched it's field of view a few times while moving the character. Moving your character to the right side of the field and seeing how he swims towards you is a bit confusing But I will see how it turns out in a real match. Might just focus on the map in the lower right only. Edited July 3, 2018 by Crimson Idol

Oobedoob S Benubi
What the shitzu, @xFalionx is alive?! Great start on the event, all. As it is now, I'm too busy to game a lot at home (when I'm home, it's too hot to game inside until late in the evening so I sit outside with my e-reader or Switch) and I've got plans this weekend. I'll probably start for reals on the event around the weekend of the fourteenth since I'm keeping that one free of appointments so I can relax a bit, and I'll take my five games on a three day rotation from there, with some taking longer due to days that I really can't put any gaming time in anything. Checking my list, I'll probably use that free weekend for either MagRunner or Rayman 3, so I can put some effort into getting through the entire games and because it's easier to play on PS3 for me during the weekend, what with it being in the mancave with the SNES and the N64.. On weekdays, I'll stick to PS4 and Switch gaming as they're connected to the living room television. 11 hours ago, Beyondthegrave07 said: Okay, let me start off that I was always more of a Spyro the Dragon fan than Crash Bandicoot fan. If I were to learn to speedrun a game it would either be this one, the first Jak and Daxter or one of the Ratchet and Clank games. I've played through them so many times, it's incredible how fast I can play through them now without even using any speedrun glitches and/or strategies. 5 hours ago, Cthulhu said: What the shitzu, @xFalionx is alive?! Yeah, seems like @Hemiak managed to resurrect me because all possible factors aligned perfectly this month: my internship, summer break, and finally KYC (also me noticing sort-of in time ). If only my PS3 would magically start reading discs again my place would be secured but who knows if the gates of the underworld will draw me back once this month is over. But yeah, the next two years are gonna be very hard on me as every grade I'll get during that time will influence the results of my finals which means even less time for gaming. Well, let's see what the future has in store for me, maybe I'll find the time to stay semi-active on here. It's a great community after all and I am much better off now than when I left. Quote Back in the day, I was always surprised that people could be a huge fan of either, as I felt neither came close to the quality that the Mario games had. That's because you compare them to Mario... Of course Mario games are better Mario games than Spyro, Crash, Sonic and co. Spyro games are very good games, though. I loved playing my Mario games for very different reasons that I loved playing my Spyro games. However, for some reason I was never a big fan of Crash Bandicoot. I think it was because of the linear levels, I always preferred some nice, open 3D levels. That would also explain my general dislike of cramped caves and tunnels in games... Edit: On a side note, my game polls are fighting a tough race. It's gonna be very interesting to see which games I will end up playing. Popular Post Myu
Day 3 - Chaos;Child This is a VN released in 2014 and developped by 5pb. The story takes place in Shibuya where several events happened in the recent years. It started with a series of gruesome murders called the « New Generation Mass Murders ». Then, there's this earthquake that damaged the whole city, with lots of victims and many children becoming orphans overnight. Takuru Miyashiro is one of them. After living in an orphanage for a while, he is now living in a trailer in one of Shibuya's parks. Takuru is the head of the school newspaper club. With his friends, he is investigating the New Generation Mass Murders, the strange earthquake that politely stopped at Shibuya's borders and a brand new series of murders that might be linked to the pre-earthquake ones. This is what I like the most in this game. The investigation, the creepy killings, the dark atmosphere... And then, there's this weird element of gameplay that shouldn't be there. You see, Takuru sometimes has those « delusions » that seem to change the current scene to suit his fantasies. For example, in the middle of a conversation, you will have to choose between « positive » or « negative » to trigger a scene right out of Takuru's pervy little mind, like his childhood friend suddenly asking for a kiss, or Takuru preventing the class president from falling on the floor (and successfully cupping a feel), or Takuru humiliating an annoying student by pulling his pants down. And it really ruins the atmosphere sometimes. At some point, Takuru and his childhood friend are trying to sneek into a love hotel to get info on the most recent murder. The hallways are dark, you can't see very well, there's music coming from a music box in one of the rooms. The MC decides to knock on a door and you suddenly have to choose between positive or negative. I went with positive and a lady working for the love hotel *wink* *wink* answered the door, asked him to come in to make him feel good. Then Takuru comes back to reality and you resume the investigation. Except the creepy atmosphere is not there anymore. There's also a lot of useless text that could be cut with very little impact on the story. This VN also feels too much like Steins;Gate. I know it's from the same company but it often feels like it's a cheap version of its successor. Takuru shares the chuunibyou gene with Rintarou, Nono Kurusu is a pale copy of Makise Kurisu. We even have the geeky/otaku sidekick. Takuru's voice actor (who is the same as Kirito's from SAO btw) is trying very hard and his reactions often feel exaggerated or out of place. I think the MC's chara-design is nice but the girls all have that old-school design and I really hate it. I still want to keep playing because I want to learn more about the murders, who did them and why but I can't bring myself to have some empathy for the characters. Edit : I forgot to add my completion rate : 86.52% (-1.06% since the beginning of the event). Next one is Zero Time Dilemma! Popular Post Toogie53
Trophies: 19/19 (100%) Time: 4 hours Rating: 8/10 My first game is already complete. Its short and sweet and totally worth the small investments of time and money it takes to experience it. I must say that I am really happy I played this one. I am a big fan of indie games and a sucker for ghost stories. So this game was clicking for me on multiple fronts. The main game is very pretty and I love the hand-drawn art style that you see 95% of the time. However, the art isn't as good in the cut scenes. In fact, it reminds me of the bad manga art with weird shading that I mentally make fun of on sites like Deviant Art. I'm kind of sad that some of the bad art is the background picture for the game on this website. Don't let that hold you back, if you're on the fence about this one give it a shot! The soundtrack is pretty good too. It sets the tone for the game very well. For the most part, there is no voice acting. You just read text when speaking to various people. That's a bit of a downer for me, but better than bad voice acting. Gameplay-wise things are pretty simple. You just walk around and solve puzzles. There isn't any combat, but there are a few sections where you need to avoid things trying to grab you or attack you. Progressing through the game kind of reminds me of Resident Evil 1&2. You'll come across things like a locked door with a crescent moon on it. To unlock it you have to find the key with crescent moon on it. Then in there you will find something you need to open another path somewhere else. There are a couple of small puzzles too, but nothing overly taxing mentally. There are a handful of missable trophies to watch out for but all are simple. Just do a quick and easy task (go here, look at the thing) and the trophy is yours. No need to track collectibles or anything like that. The trophy guide I was looking at mentioned what chapter of the game to look for the missable trophies. That was all I needed. I didn't look at anything past the road map. The game does do an auto save at the point of no return, so you can run through the whole game blind and if you missed anything, you would be able to consult the trophy guide and backtrack anywhere you needed to go for a fast clean-up. It doesn't have big production values, but highly recommended from me. Edited July 5, 2018 by Toogie53
Popular Post MarkusT1992
Game #1: Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is the 3rd Ac game and the second game of the Ezio trilogy. Back in the day when AC still was Assassin's Creed and not Pirate Creed (AC IV) or a RPG (Origins), this game is set right after the events of AC 2 during the years 1499-1507 in Rome. As (nearly) all AC games is is split in DNA sequences which consist of various main missions and act like chapters. Besides the main story you have lots of side tasks to do like doing stuff for the three fractions in the game or side stories. Like I said it continues right after AC 2 where the pope Rodrigo Borgia fought against Ezio. You return to Monterigioni, where the house of your uncle Mario is. Because Ezio didn't kill Rodrigo Monterigioni is attacked by Cesare Borgia later on. Mario gets killed and Ezio wounded during that attack. Now we are in Rome and need to stop Cesare and the Templars from doing what they do. Seperated from Ezios adventure in Rome you have Desmonds part during the present day. This part doen't involve much. You sometimes have to do some little tasks there before going back in the Animus. (The machine that lets you relive your ancestors memories.) The game plays still pretty good despite his age. I'm playing the remasterd version by the way. Cou can climb anything with conveniently placed windows/bricks/balconies/ledges on it and need to reach view points to discover the map. The battle system is straight forward. You can use your sword to attack or kick enemies to break their guard. When an enemy attacks you you can counter him. If you aren't in close combat you can use throwing knives to eliminate the enemies from the distance. You can also assassinate them with the hidden blade, a franchise stable till Odyssey. Another thing is rebuilding Rome. By burning Borgia Towers you can free the distics of Rome from the Borgia. After doing that you can renovate shops which will give you a higher income. Beneath the shops you can also renovate stables and tunnel entrances which are used as fast tavel points. Each building raises you total income a bit which is addes to the bank every 20 minutes, waiting to be collected. In the shops you can buy new equipment (weapons, armor), maps for the collectables or paintings for your hideout. I completed memory sequence 3 out of 9 so far but most of the missions were some kind of tutorial or very easy. The rest of the game will take longer to complete. I like the old AC games more than Origins. AC was always an Action game. That's why I don't get why they had to make it into a RPG. Now they even remove assassins and templars in the new game coming later this year. In my opinion the series is developing in the wrong direction. Popular Post voodoo_eyes
It's preview time again. Game #2 - Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory - Preview This is not the first HDN game I've played. Finished two of the spin-offs (Megatagmension and Action Unleashed), and tried out Rebirth 1 and Hyperdevotion Noire during previous installments of this event. I'm skipping the 2nd one and moving on to the third (at least I think it's the third), just because this one was already installed. I don't care much for the story in these games to begin with so I don't think it'll matter, if I play them in order or not. I've also downloaded about 10-15 DLCs for this game, all of which were free and a pain to actually find on the store. Had to search through the free extra content section, which consists of about 50 pages of DLC.I'll be livid, if I find out that I can download them directly through the game... Anyway, most of the DLC is just extra bosses for some arena battle or something. Expectation: I assume it'll be similar to Rebirth 1, as in turn-based combat with free-roam exploration. I'm going to take a guess and say right off the bat, that this will probably be another mediocre title just like almost every game that I've played from this series so far.
Popular Post Kevvik
Game #1: Tomb Raider Anniversary Day 3 Impressions Time played: 8 hrs Still enjoying this though I didn't have as much time as I would have liked. I completed the second area and am part way through the third. The mechanics have stayed pretty much the same though some evolutions of early skills have entered like wall-running while hanging from your grapple. Longer, more involved levels add to the challenge but they are still very manageable if approached patiently and with an explorer's heart. Also, timed activities have been added which are fortunately repeatable. Pull a switch then get through an area before the ledges withdraw and make the area unpassable. There's adequate time to do them but when I rush I don't always jump as smoothly as I should so back to the switch. Also, tougher/more numerous predators and more complicated bosses so take advantage of the adrenaline moves. I'm definitely coming back to this and I can see the time trial trophies being a thorn in my side later though with not having to find artifacts and relics, it should move smoother. Trophies earned: 18/42, 32% for C rank Score so far: 8/10 Completion rate: 80.61% (-0.18% for the event) My completion rate is a bit higher than it should be but finished off Jak II last night so a few extra trophies buffed it up a bit. Next up tomorrow: Game #2: The Sexy Brutale
Popular Post dmland12
Game #1: Prey Trophies: 15/59 (18%) Completion: 95.20% (-1.08%) This event kicks off on a high note for me with Prey. It's a sci-fi horror, first person shooter with extra abilities that's clearly been inspired in part by the original Bioshock. Still, it manages to go it's own way. Without giving away any story, the general premise is that you're stuck on a space station filled with nasty aliens and you've got to... well, do something about it (to be fair, it's still not entirely clear to me yet and I think there are multiple endings)! And oh those aliens.. they are generally quite nasty and many can quickly wreck you even on Normal difficulty if you're not prepared for them. Depending on the type, they'll teleport around, split themselves into two, mimic normal objects waiting for you to get close, or spend 90% of their time invisible, etc. Some of them shoot stuff at you and/or throw stuff they find in their environment at you. They'll rush you... or maybe they'll run and try to ambush you. Hands down, this game has some of the least predictable enemies I've seen. That really adds to the suspense as you explore new areas. Luckily, you can save anywhere. There's a linear story, but there's also a fair amount of side quests and exploration. One of the neater things is that there's almost always more than one way to get into some place. You came across a locked door? OK, you can hack the door open (if you have enough skill in hacking), or hey, you can just use your gun that makes small frozen platforms, scale the building and drop in from above. I had a few of moments where I thought "ugh, I don't have the skills/item for this yet... what if I try (something kind of crazy sounding) instead? And, it actually worked. As I did the last time I participated in this event, I'll also include a short video of my gameplay so you can get a feel for the game that way if you're interested. Here I am taking on a couple phantoms (of different types). I'm planning to take them both out quickly and stealthly before they get a chance to really react. If everything goes right...
