Popular Post PhantomFear94
As this is a trophy community I'd be super interested to find out what the worst games you have ever played for trophies are, maybe with a sentence re: why they were so bad. I'm talking about the truly abysmal games here, ones that were torturous to play but did so for the trophies. If you've done something on Xbox or even Steam for achievements, that's valid too as long as you can purchase it on PS. This is a judgment-free zone. I've personally semi-retired from this sort of trophy/achievement hunting to go towards AAA/good quality indie 100% completions/platinum trophies (emphasis on "semi" retired ?).If you check out my PSN profile and see none of the below, its because I mainly play PS for its exclusives and games on sale. I primarily game on Xbox. https://www.trueachievements.com/gamer/NoHeroes94 PS: My #1 worst game for gamerscore ever is Scalextric. However, I found out it isn't on PlayStation so I have not included it here. If you are interested in how terrible it is, Maka91 made a hilariously accurate video about it. (Dis)honourable mentions: Your Toy, Dreambreak, The Spectrum Retreat, Canadian Football 17, Deployment, Energy Cycle, Energy Cycle Edge, The Path of Motus, Eekeemoo: Splinters of the Dark Shard 5) Beyond Eyes I'm going to put this game as the best of the worst because it at least has a nice concept and some pretty (if unrendered) visuals. A bit like the Unfinished Swan, your world opens up around you as you traverse. A blind girl, trying to navigate the world around her, things only unveil as you pass them. The plot is hilariously bare bones and depressing just for the sake of it. The gameplay is one-track and mindless (a recurring theme), with painfully slow walking speed and super basic "puzzles" to disguise the fact that it is basically a walking simulator where you can't really see where you're walking. Also not a massive fan of the way blind people are perceived as damaged, broken things. It's okay to perceive how things may frighten or seem threatening without the sense of sight to aid you, but instead of using it to develop character, it's seemingly done to just make the protagonist fragile and helpless. Not good. 4) Dying: Reborn Not much to say about this one, but it isn't good. An incredibly lazy escape the room "horror" game, with the cheesiest voice acting of all time and incredibly basic puzzles. Looks a mess, plays like a mess, is only not boring when you're laughing at it. Not good. Has VR, for some reason. 3) Albedo: Eyes from Outer Space Again not much to say except that Albedo is an awful game. Aliens have invaded earth...that's it. Looks awful, plays awful with trial and error puzzles, even worse voice acting than Dying: Reborn and audio that generally sounds like it was recorded in a bathroom. No redeeming features. 2) Rememoried This is a weird one. My hate for this game isn't paralleled by some friends who thought it was somewhat ok, and as such, might be the least objective game I'm listing here. For me, it was shockingly bad. The game makes no sense. I think it's trying to reflect someone processing their memories or is a visual manifestation of someone's psyche. All that it is is a weird, trippy, largely monochromatic series of random worlds where its sole mechanic is...turning around. It kinds of works for around 30 seconds, but the mechanic has different effects on every level and is incredibly confusing. Some levels it spawns new items, others it puts you in an alternate version of the place, some have gravity implications. The hardest level was around 2-3 minutes in, some of the later levels take 20 seconds to complete. Nothing makes any sense, there is no sense of progression, and the solutions for each level are completely non-sensical. It is the "Un Chein Andalou" of video games, without the artistic reputation behind it. I like unique, wacky video games but this the video game equivalent of giving monkeys typewriters and seeing what they come up with. What really sealed it for me was that this is the only game (including in VR) I have ever played and almost felt physically sick or dizzy from playing it. I don't get motion sick, ever, but spinning around in this game did me in. Even worst is that if you click in the right stick you invert the controls, which I didn't realize for ages...so I wasn't only managing motion sickness, but also inverted controls I couldn't change. 1) Maximum Football 18 Oh boy. I'm British, but I am obsessed with North American sports, especially football. I've been following the NFL since I was 6, and am also into CFL. If you're into the CFL, and sad that no licensed games exist, do not be tempted to get this game. I repeat, do not be tempted. This game simply shouldn't exist. Aside from being unlicensed, the game has PS1 (maybe early PS2) graphics, seemingly 8 direction movement, and hideous hit detection. The game has around 4-5 sound files and a hideously small number of plays. The menus don't work, and selection options are inverted meaning you have to select the option you DON'T want to start games etc. If you pause the game, it often doesn't let you go back into the game and have to completely start a new game. There is a myriad of glitches too; fell through the map, unable to select the name play, passing plays would start running plays, field goals would get kicked for me...the list goes on. It was somehow worse than its equally helpless brother Canadian Football 17. Honestly, don't bother. Please. quadboy_007
No specific order Ekemo I started the game for the easy trophies, but I just couldn't force myself to finish the game. Everything about this game is terrible. The gameplay, the environments, the graphics, ... Toro Played this game for 10 min., and it is just horrible. Nothing in this game makes sence, the controls are the worst, the gameplay is super boring Orc slayer I did actually finish this game, but it is so laggy. The game is super repetitive. I really hate the fact that you have to kill every enemy in each area to continue, finding the enemies that are stuck in the environment just takes forever. Master reboot The game forces you to play in a weird language (for a trophy), so you have no idea what you are doing. Squareboy VS Bullies repetitive gameplay. once you get hit by an enemie there is nothing you can do, you will die forcing you to complete the level again from the start. The controls are bad, and the story makes no sence.

AJ_Radio
I guess I can contribute to this thread. 5. Aab's Animals The first non-platinum game I decided to play. I wouldn't even consider it a game, but simply watching a cat for five minutes to get all the trophies. Did this on both PS3 and Vita. However, this wasn't as bad as the other games on this list. 4. Broken Age Boring, mediocre point and click from Double Fine (Tim Schafer). This was a project where fellow gamers donated money towards so that the game would get the funding needed. However this was a dull, dry game with some rather atrocious acting. The male half of the playable characters gave me no reason to care for him. Broken Age has a ton of missable trophies and to top it off you are required to do a speedrun by skipping all the dialogue. The game was crap, and it's not a game I ever want to play again. 3. Albedo: Eyes from Outer Space A first person point and clickathon with some really shitty game mechanics. Albedo looks and plays awful. I basically followed a Stay Pationt (former trophy hunter YouTuber) walkthrough from beginning to end, and I was glad to get done with this game even though it only took a few hours. Would not recommend to anybody. 2. Everybody's Gone to the Rapture A walking simulator with an absolutely fucking atrocious trophy list. Leave your controller idle for one minute, stay on a certain swing for the same period, walk back and forth between a door, discover all the orange radios before doing anything else, find some pointless collectibles (Peeping Tom), moonwalk backwards, find all the back roads, etc etc etc. Running speed was far too slow for how much you have to do. The game itself doesn't do a bad job as a walking simulator, but Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is one best left untouched or dropped once you earn that platinum. 1. Orc Slayer The worst game I ever played for achievements/trophies, on any platform. Looks awful, plays awful, has consistent lag, enemies get stuck in obvious locations, yadda yadda yadda. Extremely repetitive, you just sit back and hold down buttons for your crossbow weapon to do all the work. Orc Slayer fails in the sound department, why this even got released on PSN is beyond me. Since then there's been a bunch of shitty low budget indie/shovelware titles that serve no purpose than to give out easy trophies for people who just want the platinums. --- That's all I have for now.
Copanele
Oh boy this is an interesting topic! Well I didn't play too much compared to others however I can fill a top 5 no problems, since I got the " trophy virus " on Playstation (tried abit on Steam but the "ding" isn't as satisfying , although for some games the achievements are way better than on playstation). No. 5 : Prince of Persia (2008 reboot) Honestly this game wasn't this bad, however things change once you have to go for the trophies/platinum. Collecting 1001 seeds, doing all the combos, the 14 hits combo , being saved less by Elika than 100 times i think + game being very ,VERY easy (honestly you cannot even die in this game) made me enjoy it for a while before getting bored out of my mind. At least the DLC was more challenging! No. 4 : Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry This...DLC (expansion?) from AC Black Flag puts you in the shoes of Adewale, the ex-first mate of Edward Kenway. Unlike Black Flag, this game pretty much annoyed me with its dumb mechanics and lack of creativity. It has Creed but 0 Assassin in it. Even though the game is short I couldn't wait to finish it already. But yes, major point : Game is short!Compared to nr 3..... No. 3 : Assassin's Creed Unity Ok so I admit, I like the Assassin's Creed series. Although the story went to hell Spoiler with the death of Desmond (spoilers I guess? AC3 is old ), I like the games mainly cause I am a sucker for history events and I just like screwing around in pijamas in historical settings. Honestly nothing beats an Egyptian dude pulling Tony Hawks on The Great Pyramid. ....Except AC Unity. Why do I absolutely HATE this mess of a game?Because a FRENCH company messed up a game with one of the most important event in the history of France, perhaps even Europe. Like, ok I get it, graphics (AFTER PATCH ,we don't talk about release,we never do) look pretty awesome, crowds, Paris is recreated accurately, I used the actual map of Paris for Nostradamus enigmas and... it helped. But that's where the fun stops. Arno is a dumb drunk asshole, the order of Assassins are a bunch of cloaked morons, the " mind reading" and "eagle vision" mechanic are wtf(seriously arno reads into the past of his victims?WHAT?), Elise is pretty awesome but makes no sense,Marquis the Sade ( the walking Pornhub of the French Revolution) is terribly underused and the antagonist is the second worst evil twirling moustache bastard I have ever seen(the worst will take nr 1). Also glitches over glitches. In terms of trophies? A fuckload of chests and cockades (seriously check this image and I think there are actually more) and the infamously glitched Cafe Theatre bug (had to restart the game in order to get the trophy). The co-op missions are fine I guess but I just soloed them. Also the DLC . I HATED THE DLC. So awfully bad. Also the guillotine gun is flashy but that wouldn't be my first pick when i'd want to assassinate someone, unless assassination = nuking an entire area. No.2 : My name is Mayo It's the only "joke" platinum I ever got, but it's more of a shame than anything. A sprained thumb, a jar of mayo with underwear on it and some dissapointed looks from my girlfriend. Yeah...nothing to say here. You just...click...on a jar of mayo. Glorious No.1 : Devil May Cry 2 Ok so I have a weakness for platinuming entire series. Right now I am going for Assassin's Creed, the other series I completely platinumed were God of War and Devil May Cry(except 5, working on it). But unlike God of War who had only good games (weakest being GoW Ascension which was DECENT ) , Devil May Cry has the infamous second entry. It's the worst game I have ever played in my life. The game is piss poor easy. You just mash the square and everything dies. Oh yes my bad, you mash X in dante must die so you can jump while you shoot. everything is SHOOTING in this game. Dante is a boring cartboard face. Lucia is annoying as heck, her combat is dumb. Bosses are horribly executed (ZOMBIE TANK! ZOMBIE HELICOPTER), the main antagonist IS the worst evil twirling moustache laughing idiot of all time. The camera is ABYSMAL and I had to use the in-game cheats for Bloody Palace because it was impossible to complete otherwise. This game really made me consider quitting videogames as a hobby. Kinda that's my list, it's short and not that noticeable but all those above made me annoyed one way or the other Edited March 26, 2019 by Copanele
Elvick_
I'll toss the caveat of "got all the trophies" for it, since I can't think of a game that I played "just" for trophies. I have always had at least some interest in whatever I've tried to play, but I have stuck with some trash just to get more/all of the trophies to at least get something out of it. Other than #1, there's no real order. But #1 is the worst. Energy Invasion - What a shit game. I saw it was cheap, liked the image associate with it. Which is likely where the entire budget went given they reuse the image for the store page, trophy banner and plat icon and it has fuck all to do with the game. I did watch the trailer and saw it was a brick attack game and I love those, so bought it and boy did I regret it. What a turd. How do you fuck up a brick attack game? Not only is it ugly, but the physics are terrible and you do this weird shooting mechanic instead and half the time the game doesn't work properly. Fuck this game. I literally hate it. My first and last game from this developer. I'd say "series" if you can even out the "energy" shovelware as a series. I should've paid more attention to the trailer. Paw Patrol: On a Roll! - It's hard to say it's outright bad... it's just for babies. Literal babies. Not "kids". Kids can handle failing, or some form of punishment. I'm sure most of us grew up on things like Sonic, Mario, and had a blast. I never needed Pac-Man to never die to have fun. This game has literally no risk at all and the voice over is every five seconds. "COLLECT THE TREATS" "MAKE SURE TO COLLECT TREATS" "YOU COLLECTED A TREA-COLLECT THE TREATS!" He literally interrupts himself and cuts off his own dialog all the time. And there's no sound effect for jumping so if you disable that annoying voice the game is very empty. And there's not a lot of level variety, not even visually. And everything is super linear. They should have taken notes from Kirby's Epic Yarn. There's a game that remains fun, but is accessible to children since there's not a lot of punishment beyond hurting your final score of gems or whatever they were. Since if you "die" you just lose a ton of them. Even falling in a pit isn't a disaster. And it has co-op so a parent/older sibling can carry the kid through and it can be a fun time for all ages. I wanted to love Paw Patrol, because I love cute things often aimed at children (EyePet <3) But this was not it. But I stuck out the boredom to get the trophies. I also liked the publishers other games so was disappointed that this one was so lame. The others aren't great games, but they were accessible and fun. 3 on 3 NHL Arcade - I bought it so I could play with my [at the time boyfriend; now fiance] and we didn't play it... so that was lame. But i came back to it years later with determination to get the trophies despite not liking it. And boy was it not fun. I don't know if it's good or bad, but I really hated it. Everybody's Gone To The Rapture - It's just not a GAME. I've already went into this in other threads so won't rehash it here. 2013: Infected Wars - I realized pretty quick how bad it was, but stuck it out for the 100%... and it was tedious as shit. I was really starved for FPS on Vita. Dishonorable Mentions: Overlord FOE, Actual Sunlight, Beyond Eyes - First was eh, but super glitchy and with broken online, but I stuck with the boring grind for plat. Second had horrid writing, stuck it out for trophies. Third I agree with you on most things. Visually nice, everything else sucked. Future Dishonorable Mention: Life is Strange, sure this won't make a lot of people happy. So if you love the game and don't want to read my honest opinion don't read beyond this. Spoiler But the only reason I'm going to (eventually) get the plat is... for the plat. The story is a mess. Theme wise it's great, in practice it's hella steampunk. Wowzers it's sketch central (okay that last one was from Before the Storm, but it's on the same level as this game; well that one was way worse honestly, but that specific quote is inline with the original). The writing is atrocious and I feel the only reason anybody likes it is because of the themes, not the actual execution of those themes. And no I haven't finished it myself yet, but I have finished multiple LPs of it (and BtS) and it doesn't get better in my view. It's going to be rough going through the rest of it myself. It could have been great. Sadly it is not. And I'm still going to go through it, rather than skip everything just to get the plat. On the off chance somehow it will be better, but based on how it's going I don't see that happening. And I'm sure some would scoff and say it's because I take breaks that I'm not "getting into it" so the "immersion" is broken.. but that's how the game was released anyway. Those episodes were staggered releases so everybody who played it on release and loved it and oversold it's quality had the same issue. From episode 1 I have not liked it. So it's not that. If you like it, that's fine. I just don't think it's good.

But I guess the only trophies where you need a partner are getting 10 co-op sync kills, and reviving your teammate when he's down. Ah the infamous tournament mission. Yes it was awful to pull solo, you had a tournament where you had to collect a certain number of flags under a set amount of time, each flag gives you extra 3 seconds i think. Thing is, that mission is intended for a 4 man team so doing it alone is horrible (but not impossible thank god). For everything else that involves combat or killing , smoke bombs for the win. Seriously smoke bombs are overpowered in the game. And yes, the 10 coop kills and team revival are the only ones where you need a human partner. Banana_Sausage47
1. Grand Prix Rock 'n Racing - Looked like an easy plat but boy this game is bloody awful. So bad I didn't even finish it. 2. Deep Black - The worst PS3 game I've ever played and for a long time was the worst game I'd played on PlayStation until #1 came along. 3. Battleship - This game was so bland. Terrible. 4. Orc Slayer - Pretty sure everyone here is familiar with this one. 5. Yasai Ninja - I only played this to get a platinum in a game that began with the letter Y for the A-Z Platinum club here on the forums. Really shitty game. Terra
I have five that I did just for the sake of trophies and boy did I regret it. 1. My Name Is Mayo I mean, fun from tapping a jar of mayo that doesn't exist? I don't know what I was thinking at the time. It was quite boring and hurt my fingers. What makes it worse was that I did it twice. I'm never touching it again. 2. Hannah Montana: The Movie Two years have past since I platinumed this but the memories linger on. Honestly, this was a terrible game. Poor graphics, clunky controls, limited replay value and below average music. I grew up with friends who loved Hannah Montana so I thought I would be ok but I was so wrong. If you think you are just in for a music game, oh no, it get's worse. The terrible horse racing game and carnival games that never seem to work made me enjoy Harry Potter more than this. 3. Mr. Massagy Eww. This one was just plain gross. It was so bad when I showed my friends the trophies one of them laughed so hard I thought he was going to die. I'll never live that down. 4. Energy Cycle Bland, boring and pretty much an average puzzle game that I only bought when I was into getting easy trophies only without worrying about the game. 5. 1000 Top Rated I am aware Slyde is the spiritual successor to this game but this is the ultimate easy trophy title. All this "game" was putting puzzle pieces together quickly. I got it in 15 minutes but I didn't feel satisfied. At this point, I began to question why I was playing these awful games.
I need more BIOSHOCK
1. Oh Sir the insult simulator. Seriously, DON'T DO IT! 2. Game of Thrones. The most boring telltale game of the lot for me. I didn't care about my choices, who died, anything. 3. Everybody's gone to the rapture. Had to force myself to soldier on for the plat with this utter crap. 4. Absolver. Due to buying this wank game a week before it was announced as a plus title I ploughed on out of rage. Boring shit game. 5. Eekeemoo splinters of the dark shard. Broken piece of shit game that gliteches forcing you to spend hours grinding kills after already fulfilling the requiment until the trophy pops.

JNSpradlin
1) Cheap platinums that I hate that I have done: Storm Boy, Any Ratalaika game, My name is mayo, Slide / 1000 Top Rated, Little Adventure on the Prairie 2) Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends - Only on here because I strictly self boosted the game solely for the platinum. No enjoyment on an actual decent game 3) Goat Simulator - You can thank the internet for this game getting its recognition. This game is complete garbage. There is no story and the DLC was even more pure trash. 4) Truck Racer - Absolutely the worst racing sim out there. Lets put big ass trucks into small tiny race courses. Yeah not all were tiny, but enough were. 5) Game of Thrones (TellTale) - The game was downright the most boring game I have ever played. I love GoT, but this was soooo bad. Kristycism
4 hours ago, quadboy_007 said: Master reboot The game forces you to play in a weird language (for a trophy), so you have no idea what you are doing. I'm fairly fluent in Welsh, so I understood the game almost completely, and it's still not that great. I mean, I'm sure it's much better than if you didn't understand it (though, you could have done two playthroughs and had one in English if you wanted to understand it, since it's not very long), but it's still a bit of a weird plot and the gameplay is dull. Anyway, on topic, I never play games just for trophies, but I play games I think I'll like (or games that were free on PS+) and sometimes get it totally wrong. And once I get a single trophy, I have to then get the rest because I have problems. So the worst 5 games I forced myself to play through and get 100%/Platinum on after accidentally popping a trophy are: 5) 2064: Read Only Memories - only played this because it was free on PS+ and it's so dull. The script is all over the place, and the characters are boring and generic. I swear someone just thought "hey lets make a point and click style game for furries and robot fans" and had no other thoughts. I'm so happy there's a walkthrough and I didn't need to actually play through this myself and waste more time on it. 4) Coffin Dodgers - I saw this on sale and looked at the store description saying it was a bunch of OAPs with powered-up granny scooters racing against death, thought to myself "oh, I like kart racers and this looks like it'll be wacky and fun!" and bought it to play with my sister, as we often play kart racers together. But wow, it is bad. It's like a PS1 game, and there's literally no amusement other than the idea, which barely comes into it at all. And there are only a couple of tracks that are all dull and follow the same pattern. It also feels really clunky. Generally not a fan and regretted buying it. 3) Amnesia Collection - another free PS+ game that I regretted playing. It's dull. It's like a really bad Zelda game where you have to work out what to do to progress, but with very simple puzzles that are almost linear. The monsters aren't even scary and just a minor inconvenience, as you can just run into them then respawn a short distance away and they'll have disappeared, leaving you free to walk around uninterupted. The story also makes no sense in any of the three games, even after reading the lore. Can't believe I'll have to go back to it again for that dumb Hard Mode that was just released. Eurgh. 2) Knee Deep - I don't even remember buying this and I don't know why I thought it was a good idea (edit: thinking back, I got it at the same time as some Artifex Mundi games as I LOVE point and click mystery games, and probably thought this was similar - which it's not), as both the screenshots and the description kind of give away how bad this piece of trash is, but somehow I ended up playing it since it was in my purchases and I didn't want to waste it and...wow it's bad. The script is crap, the "humour" barely qualifies as humour, and it's just such a chore to get through the game, never mind doing part of it another two times for trophies. I have some regrets about buying this, and even more regrets about playing it instead of just leaving it as an unplayed waste of money. 1) Ginger: Beyond the Crystal - I love platformers. Especially collectathon ones, it's my favourite genre of game and I play every one that comes out. But this one is utter trash and I'd strongly recommend against ever playing it. The controls are clunky, there's no challenge other than the janky controls (like, a child could do the levels if they could work with the controls), but the worst part are the glitches where villagers disappear and never come back, which locks you out of their related trophies and the plat. This happened to me TWICE, so I needed to play through this utter piece of garbage three times. It's the only game where I've genuinely considered giving up on the plat and just not having a 100% profile because of how boring and bad it is. If it wasn't for the glitches (which not everyone experiences), it would probably be further down on the list, but because I had to do three playthroughs because of said glitches, it makes it my most hated game on my profile. Spinosaurus Rex
Space Overlords. Absolute garbage, the one and only interesing thing about it is meaty ultra rare platinum. Heroes Trials was also a Zelda-wannabe shit, but easy and fast platinum lessens the headache. Licky The Lucky Lizard - Icy tower-esque trash. Stern Pinball Arcade - Thanks god it was for free. Brick Breaker - Broken, badly designed and impossible to complete.

Also kind of depressing to see I'm the only one who didn't mind Everybody's Gone to the Rapture. Something relaxing about it. I enjoyed that game aswell. But I completely understand that this game isn't for everyone. 1 hour ago, Spinosaurus Rex said: Licky The Lucky Lizard - Icy tower-esque trash. Why is there so much hate for this free game? Am I the only one who actually enjoyed getting some high scores?
