What currently is your white whale right now in gaming

Currently this one:

I love the game, but struggle to imagine whether I will ever manage the requirements - some of these bosses I haven't even beaten without taking damage once, let alone the 10 times required for each one :jaymon: ?

Currently, doing a Player Room match in Guilty Gear Strive... Once that's done (and should be easy if I set a session on here) it'll be Beating the Secret Boss at the end of Arcade Mode, basically have to win every round of every match to face it, then you actually have to BEAT HIM and it looks bloody ridiculous ? gotten up to the Rival Battle just before the "Last Boss/Fight" with Ky Kiske so far but haven't tried again since ? would be nice to finally get a GG Platinum so I'll keep trying ?

COD: BO4. I want to finish it soon. The battle royale is driving me insane despite I'm familiar with the genre. I underestimated it, and is huge. 4 wins away from a trophy but is unbelievable that is taking me so long to just grab them. Hope I can finish it this year. Pray for me, LOL.

That game is a massive time sink.

It was easier on release and I heard the items to unlock the characters are a mess now and btw Activi$ion made a dick move. They put skins in the shop but they knew people couldn't use those skins in Blackout because people had a hard time to unlock them so they decided to unlock all requirements for all Specialists for free. That means everybody who just started a round of Blackout got this trophy for free. I was really pissed tbh because look at the description:

"In Blackout, unlock Battery, Ruin, Firebreak, Seraph, Nomad, Prophet, Ajax, Crash, Torque and Recon"

10 fucking specialists. Thank you Activision

I'm slowly working on SMB, this was my dream 100% game, back when I played on PC. This will take years, tho, as I play occasionally like 1 hour a day. But yeah, I always wanted to get it, so maybe one day I will, no rush.

I just finished Blackout recently. I got help from some great people with Woods and the Zombies characters. Woods and Reznov are hard enough but I spent 6 hours looking for Mason's White shirt to spawn, only for me to not make it into the top 15 when i had it, my heart sank a bit. What a load of bollocks.

Next game, I went back to the same spawn location and found the shirt again. I couldn't believe my luck. This time I made sure to camp my ass off to ensure I make it into top 15. I managed to make it to second place which was a nice way to end my Blackout experience with.

Best of luck. Missile Boy is when it really starts to get difficult. It's a constant uphill climb from there, as every subsequent no death run (Demon Boy, Zombie Boy, Girl Boy, Impossible Boy) is going to test your patience, skill and perseverance.

Always practice your worst levels the most. I always had one or two levels that killed me more than anything else for any particular no death run.

Impossible Boy took me around 40 hours to get, and I'm pretty good at platformers. Not to discourage you, but this will take you a lot of time. Best of luck, because you will need it.

I posted in this thread before, but seeing the wide gap between posts I’ll make a update....

Currently on three white whales, which basically means games that aren’t literally impossible for me, but require more effort than I’m willing to give.

1. DOOM 2 - I talked about this game several times. Nightmare CO-OP is the only thing keeping me from platinum.

Someone told me they got up to Map 20 on the latest update patch so I assume it is possible if you’re willing to spend several hours on each map. This is a real downer in what is otherwise a fun, iconic, historically significant title in gaming history.

2. Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood - PS3 version, and it has online trophies.

You need SIX players to boost effectively. Not two. Not three. Not four. Six. It’s a good reason why I think a lot of older PS3 games from circa 2008 - 2011ish have absolutely horrendous online trophies.

I heard it can take five to six hours if everything goes smoothly. But that’s easier said than done.

3. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End - Survival CO-OP.

It’s easily possible to just get carried in Survival provided you level up a bit and obtain certain weapons (FAL). That’s already more work than I’m willing to put in.

Not necessarily. I got carried through all stages in just over two hours and it was my first time ever playing the mode so I started out a level 1. We only had to retry one round throughout the whole 10 stages on Crushing - it went smoother than I ever expected it to.

Most people I've seen on the boosting sessions expect you to know a general idea of what to do. It's been years since I actually played Survival.. I'll have to replay all the levels to know what to expect.

With a few people, I hear the levels are pretty easy even on Crushing difficulty.

Any MMO. (Right now it's Bless Unleashed)

So yeah I love MMOs but they are definitely my white whale on PlayStation, I usually always played them more PC and occasionally Xbox if offered for free. But do to spending alot of time in them on PC and Xbox I usually end up completing them going for every achievement on Steam/Xbox and in-game too that are still possible.

But that's where it becomes my white whale putting that much commitment into a game and then starting over on PlayStation is hard as hell. What may have been fun the first time seems a very monotonous mess the second. I do have plans to complete more of them. But I definitely need to pace myself and find some smaller fish to chase so I don't get burned out chasing my whale.

I no longer play MMOs. I just don’t have the time commitment and you have to deal with people, something I’d rather avoid as I’ve been a loner.

Right now my white whale is Dark Souls II. Lost my 40+ hour save to a console hiccup. From Software doesn’t allow you to copy your save files (on PS3, not sure about PS4) so I have to start from scratch.

I had over 140 deaths when I lost my save so I should have around half when I finally get to where I was. This time I will back my save to the PS Cloud every few hours to avoid another giant setback.
