Yuber6969
Thanks guys! @postofficebuddy I remember you saying that Painwheel was hard. Now that I've cleared her trials, I feel confident that I can do them all. I don't feel confident that I can get them done without several hours worth of retries though. @Honor_Hand and @FreshFromThaDeli I'm currently taking a break with a short game (Lone Survivor). I should be back at this tomorrow or the day after. ?
Popular Post Yuber6969
I finished Valentine's trials. I was worried going into to this because she is a 5/5 character. However, I found her first 3 trials easy, and her last one wasn't too bad. There is only one hard section of the combo, and the difficulty comes from the fact that the combo will drop if you mash. It's hard not to mash this section because it comes after you land from a couple of aerial attacks. If you do the combo in the corner, you can mash this section without dropping the combo. At first, the combo seems like it can't be done in the corner because Parasoul gets pushed out of the corner after the air dash, but if you time the air dash just right, she will stay there. Here is her final trial: Total Completed: 52/56 Filia 4/4 Cerebella 4/4 Peacock 4/4 Parasoul 4/4 Painwheel 4/4 Valentine 4/4 Double 4/4 Squigly 4/4 Big Band 4/4 Eliza 4/4 Fukua 4/4 Beowulf 4/4 Robo Fortune 4/4 All that's left is Ms. Fortune. I know that I will struggle, but at this point, I'm confident that I can get it done.
Popular Post Yuber6969
I finished Ms. Fortune's first three trials. Her first two were easy, but I had a hard time with her third one. They give you a short time to chain the air dash into a j.HP, then into an El Gato. Almost all of my failures came from that part of the combo. The rest of the combo wasn't too bad, but there were a few times where I choked near the end. Here is her third trial: Total Completed: 55/56 Filia 4/4 Cerebella 4/4 Peacock 4/4 Parasoul 4/4 Ms. Fortune 3/4 Painwheel 4/4 Valentine 4/4 Double 4/4 Squigly 4/4 Big Band 4/4 Eliza 4/4 Fukua 4/4 Beowulf 4/4 Robo Fortune 4/4 All that's left for me to do is Ms. Fortune's final trial. From what I have heard, some people find her third trial to be the hardest, and others find her fourth one to be the hardest. Hopefully I'm in the group that finds her fourth trial easier because I've been ready to move on from this for a long time.
Popular Post Yuber6969
Overruled! The prosecution rests, your honor. Again with the cryptic trophy descriptions. This trophy is for clearing all combo challenges. I can now confirm that completing Annie's trials is not required. I finished Ms. Fortune's final trial. With the extra inputs in Copanele's guide, I didn't have too much trouble with this combo. It's one of the few trials in the game that allows pause cheese, and I abused it big time. Personally, I found Parasoul's final trial to be the hardest in the game by a mile. It can't be done in the corner, it requires speed, it's gimmicky, and it can't be pause cheesed. Ms. Fortune's final trial is below. It's not a very exciting video to watch because of how many times I paused it, but hey, I got it done. Thank you @PrinceOfPeace, @SnowNinjaRaccoon, and @Thedah for guiding me through Painwheel's third trial! Major thanks to @Copanele as usual! His trial guide was very helpful, and he personally coached me through almost every character's third and fourth trials. I hope that Challenge Mode and Marie 300% don't give me too much trouble. I've been wanting to move on for a while.
Copanele
Congrats dude! Damn that was a wild ride glad my scribbles helped you. Also glad you didn't have to do Annie...she is in a league of her own lol (although her combos feel like Ragna+Sol tbh)
AihaLoveleaf
Awesome job, man! I'm real happy for you right now. ? What a relief it is when the worst of a game is finally behind you. willythom88
You know what I love about reading your checklist @Yuber6969, is not just the tenacity you have. But the methodical way you seem to be approaching things. I've had problems finishing things in the past that require me to perform a laundry list of smaller tasks. It's very inspiring to read the way you break things down and provide updates on the smaller segments. Appreciate it : D.

Yuber6969
Thanks guys! @Copanele They were helpful for sure, along with the videos. Even though Annie is my main, I'm glad I didn't have to do hers. @AihaLoveleaf I'm gonna try to get this done ASAP. I finished the story a while ago, so I should be done very soon unless I end up struggling with something else. @FreshFromThaDeli @willythom88 I appreciate the feedback. I'm glad to hear that you like the way I've been doing my updates! @Thedah I'm relieved to hear that. That Marie 300% trophy is pretty rare so I was thinking it would be brutal.

Popular Post Yuber6969
Two WeeksWill Squigly decide on her choice and move towards the changing winds? This trophy is for beating Marie 300%. For the sake of clarity: the version in "Marie 300%" mode on the menu, not the 310% version that you fight in the final challenge of Challenge Mode. This was certainly not as hard as the trials, but it was hard nonetheless and it took me a couple of hours. You have to fight a buffed up version of Marie and you are forced to use Squigly. I don't main with Squigly so I had a very hard time with this. I used one of the time out methods, and it was still hard. The issue is that after Marie loses about 1/3 of her health, she goes into another mode where she is far more dangerous. This meant that I could only damage her up to a certain point, and then dodge as much as possible. Here is my successful run: I have been working on Challenge Mode also. The only challenges that I have left are 18 and 23. Challenge 18 puts you against a buffed up version of Big Band, and your team is chosen for you. My main (Annie) is not in the team. In Challenge 23, you fight a buffed up version of Marie and are forced to use Elza. Worse yet, your health continuously drains throughout the fight.
Popular Post Yuber6969
ConquerorNo challenge is too great, no obstacle too high. This trophy is for clearing all challenges in Challenge Mode. There are 26 challenges and most of them were very easy, but there were some major difficulty spikes. I'll discuss the difficult/notable ones. Challenge 16 Using Squigly, you must defeat Parasoul, but she will only begin to take damage when your combo goes over 20 hits. After some trial and error, I found an easy solution to this. Push Parasoul into the corner by spamming 236HP, then input the following combo: 2HP -> 236HP -> 214LK+MK -> 2HP -> 236HP -> 214LK+MK -> 2HP -> 236HP. Challenge 18 You have to fight Big Band using a team consisting of Parasoul, Ms. Fortune, and Valentine. The AI is very tough and only begins to take damage after your combo has surpassed 3 hits. Also, Big Band's health regenerates. I found this very difficult until I came across the following strategy by @Leviatanh_. Using Ms. Fortune, push Big Band into a corner and spam the following combo: MP -> MK (2 hits) -> 236MP (3 hits) -> Cat Scratch Fever. The only edit that I would make is to make sure you save enough super meter for at least one Cat Scratch Fever. This is because if Big Band breaks out of the loop, Cat Scratch Fever is useful for pushing him back into the corner. Challenge 23 In my opinion, this is the hardest challenge in Challenge Mode by far. You have to fight a buffed up version of Marie (not 300% thankfully) using Eliza. Your health bar drains throughout the fight. I watched many different YouTube videos and copied their strategies, and kept getting wrecked. After about 3 hours, I accidentally discovered that Eliza can heal herself. Even after discovering that, I still had a hard time, but not as much. If I'm being honest, luck was involved in my successful run. Challenge 26 You have to beat Marie 310%, but you can use any character you want. I did not struggle with this, but I wanted to put in some footage of me using my main (Annie). All I have left to do are the character specific trophies, and the trophy for spending 2 hours in Training Mode. I think I can finally say that the plat is in the bag. ? Popular Post Yuber6969
Skullgirls 2nd Encore Platinum Rarity: 0.84% 100% Rarity: 0.1% Difficulty: 9/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 This is the hardest fighting game I've done so far and the second hardest game I've done overall. Marie 300% and some sections of Challenge Mode were hard, but the combo challenges are what made this game brutal. There is no leeway at all; you have to do every single trial in the game. Don't like a certain type of character? Too bad. Worse yet, the timing required is extremely unforgiving. This means two things: one, you have to be really fast, and two, pause cheese does not work on 90+% of the combos. On paper, I have seen much harder combos in some of the BlazBlue games, but the fact that most of the combos can't be pause cheesed raises the difficulty exponentially, hence the 9/10 rating. The combo trials in this game definitely made me a grow as a fighting game player, and I plan to eventually go for some of the 10/10 difficulty fighting games. The combat was solid. This is one of the best fighting games that I played when it comes to gameplay. The combo challenges are actually practical in real combat, and most of the characters feel legitimately unique. I'm not crazy about tag games (except Marvel vs. Capcom 3), but you can use 1 or 2 characters instead of 3, and your stats will scale accordingly. I really loved this mechanic. Annie was my main, and one of the most fun characters that I've used in any fighting game. She plays like a hybrid of Street Fighter's Ryu and BlazBlue's Ragna in my opinion. I've also heard she plays like Guilty Gear's Sol, but I can't confirm that until I play Guilty Gear. The story was decent. It wasn't BlazBlue quality, but it was better than any non-Arcsys fighter's story I've seen. Even within Arcsys fighters, this is the best story that I've seen since BlazBlue. It's interesting, funny, and even emotional at times. It's not without faults though, hence the 8/10 enjoyment score rather than 9/10. One problem that I have with it is that the game does not make it clear which (if any) story is the canon one. The stories all follow the same plot for the most part, but there are minor differences in certain characters' stories, and I'm annoyed that there is no clear answer regarding which one is canon. Another problem that I have with it is that there is no proper introduction; it felt like I walked into a movie an hour late. Granted, you do end up getting an explanation if you pay close enough attention, but I felt that this was sloppy storytelling. Despite those complaints, I did enjoy the story, and would love a sequel to it. There was also fanservice. Lots of fanservice.

AihaLoveleaf
Congrats Yuber! Skullgirls is a huge completion. You were definitely ready for Skullgirls, and now you might be ready for Art of Fighting. Awesome work, man. Glad to see you completing this notoriously hard fighting game. I bought this one not too long ago so I'll be going after it at some point later. Not too scared about the pause cheese exploit not working since that has never worked for me. Even so, doing absolutely each and every combo. Damn, that's tough. Hate it when there's zero leeway like that. ? The game itself looks sweet with them chicks. I have high expectations of making Ms. Fortune my main there. ?
Popular Post Yuber6969
Thanks guys! @FreshFromThaDeli It does feel surreal to have completed every trial. I was struggling big time in the beginning. This game was pretty overwhelming. You'll probably have an easier time than I did though. @Copanele Parasoul's trials were so hard for me, and I'm surprised they aren't discussed more. IMO, way harder than Ms. Fortune, Valentine, and Painwheel - the three names that I see the most when people talk about how difficult the trials are. As for KOF 13... I don't want to touch another combo challenge for a while lol. That, and I still have to go through the rest of the KOF series anyway. @AihaLoveleaf Lmao Art of Fighting again. I'm sure it won't be as bad as Skullgirls was. From the footage I've seen on YouTube though, it does look bad. Sorry in advance for my raging. Also, I see what you did there with Marie. ? @Thedah Did you mean vanilla MVC3, or Ultimate? I'm planning to do both, but Ultimate is the one that I'm a bit worried about. @Honor_Hand The fanservice is indeed plentiful ?. It was my first time doing a fighter with zero leeway on the combo challenges, and it was as bad as you think it is lol. If you're planning to main with Ms. Fortune, I hope you're committed to the cause; she's gimmicky.

TehUberCheezCatz
good job with skullgirls, i've had an itch to go back to it but especially after reading how hard you've though of it as someone really into the genre doesn't fill me with much confidence in my own capabilities. but hey, your ceiling can only keep getting closer to the peak of the genre's, so good luck with whatever's next.
