LosAngelesPride is my former account. Some of you guys may know me, either because we played in a session together or we exchanged in these forums. I decided to start fresh on a new account along with creating my own checklist. A brief introduction I got myself a PS3 back in 2010 when I was still a baby. I remember that all my friends already had one and used to talk about the games that they were playing at the time, I was the last one joining the party. When I discovered trophies, I remember challenging myself into catching up with my friends’ trophy lists even tho I was starting several steps behind. From that on, I never quit this hobby of trophy hunting. There were some times where I took long breaks from gaming but I always end up coming back and enjoying it all over again. Why a checklist ? It wasn’t until early 2020 when the pandemic hit that I started to use this website more and more in order to track my completion along with finding people for boosting groups. When I discovered the checklists topic, I found the idea to be pretty great but never got around to creating my own because I thought people wouldn’t be as interested to follow my gaming trials and tribulations. I got convinced by my friend @KindaSabbath and also inspired by his own checklist to finally start mine. At first, I was going to start it in my old account and just keep track with the newer games while doing some throwbacks and revisiting and reviewing games I completed before the checklist was created. But then when the decision was made to start brand new, I figured it would be perfect to create a checklist, that way I can document my progress from the beginning. The purpose of this checklist is to post progress, review games and exchange with whoever is passing by. I don’t necessarily remember about every game I have played so I figured a checklist might be a good idea to write down my thoughts while they are still fresh, that way I can revisit my experience with any given game at any given time. Why a new account ? To be honest, I have been thinking about creating a new account for a while now. At first I was a lil bit uncomfortable about the idea of “dumping” more than 5k trophies earned over the course of 10 years which Is why I dragged the idea for so long. Ultimately, I decided to start a new account for several reasons that outweighed my doubts : First and foremost, I grew up unsatisfied about my profile. I feel like the trophy hunter I was 10 years ago when I was still a baby isn’t the one that I am right now. The games that I played aren’t the ones I want to see on my profile right now. I remember that I always avoided hard/grindy trophies, I never wanted to get out of my comfort zone and ultimately, I played games more for the trophies than the game itself. If we were given the possibility of deleting trophies, I would delete a bunch of games that I already 100% without hesitation. I wouldn’t care about going down on the leaderboards or losing platinum trophies. I tried hiding games but it didn’t really change anything and I always hated having that H on my profile anyway. I moved out of France (even tho I had to comeback because of the pandemic, I'm planning on leaving again when the situation allows me to) and the impossibility of changing location has since become a problem, I have to use a second account to have access to the US store. Starting with a new account in the US comes in handy because I can still keep my French one if I want to grab something in the EU store while using my main for regular transactions. Finally, the main reason is that I was unable to keep a 100% profile. I have unobtainable trophies from Uncharted 2/3 and Burnout Paradise on PS3 that I’m never gonna be able to get. Long story short, I was overseas without my PS3 (nor my PS4) when the shutdown was announced so I was unable to do them before the closure. To make it worse, I wasn’t even aware that a shutdown was announced as it was during a time I took a long break from gaming. Thus, no matter how many games I ended up finishing, I was always left with that “107 unearned trophies” and that “98 and change percentage.” I know a lot of people don’t care about keeping up with a 100% profile, but for me, it has always been a regret that I was never able to accomplish, not because of a lack of skill or dedication, but because of a server shutdown. I recognize it's totally my fault tho, I should've done them a while ago, that's my lesson to never drag online trophies for a long time because this kind of thing can happen. Of course this decision doesn't come without any regrets. There is some games I have done on my former account that I won't be able to finish all over again because of a shutdown (Max Payne 3, NBA 2K20, GTA V). I'm also somewhat sad to leave my former handle @LosAngelesPride cause I love it but it's for the better ? Why “Pluto’s Gold Rush” as a title ? I got my inspiration from the California Gold Rush that happened in the 1800s. A gold rush is defined by a discovery of gold that brings an onrush of miners seeking their fortune. James W. Marshall discovered gold in Coloma (close to Sacramento) which brought around 300,000 people to California from the rest of the United States and abroad. The sudden influx of gold reinvigorated the American economy while the population increase turned California into a state in the United States. I thought the name was fitting for two reasons : Since when I first discovered the concept of trophies, I became invested and wanted to get as many as possible just like the California miners I moved out to California recently (like I said I had to comeback to France because of COVID, I'm hoping to be back as soon as the situation allows me to) What’s next ? The priority right now is to complete games in my backlog with a heavy online component. It will be the main factor, at least for now, when deciding what game I'm gonna tackle next. If you guys have some recommendation on which game I should play, I’m all ears. I will check it and see if I’m interested enough to give it a try. I will put my backlog along with my wishlist below so that you all can see the type of games I will be going after. rjkclarke
I think I might have to keep an eye on this one! Wow - that's brave starting from scratch..... But reading your progress from the absolute beginning sounds really interesting. I've been going since 2011, and the thought of just abandoning everything at this point and starting again is so scary.... I've got so many unforgettable memories tied to this account, unobtainables included in that, it's essentially my gaming history over the last ten years. I can respect why you'd want to though, and that must have taken quite a bit of time to make that decision. Thanks for the shout out by the way - the fact I might have inspired anything is still a bit of a surreal concept to me, but I do appreciate the kind words I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with this - looks like you've got some pretty beastly tasks ahead of you in that backlog list that you put there.

Deadly_Ha_Ha
Good for you recognizing what more you could accomplish with a fresh account. I made the same decision after starting Oro_Castoro in 2009 when I ended it in 2018 or whatever. I'll watch out for your progress moving forward

Popular Post PlutoRico
Lumo Being lost isn't scary, it's an adventure. Introduction Lumo is a 3D isometric puzzle platform game developed by Triple Eh? Ltd and released in 2016. It was created with a clear objective in mind : a contemporary take on the long-lost isometric platform type. The idea was to modernize the genre to reach both a young and old audience altogether. What’s an isometric platformer ? It’s a game using an isometric projection, a method that allows you to visually represent three dimensional objects in two dimensions. Here’s an example of what it looks like in Lumo : That’s what the whole game is about. You control a small character with a wizard’s hat, solve puzzles or avoid obstacles and enemies in order to progress from room to room. The game accounts for more than 400 rooms spread across 4 different zones, each one having their own specificities. The puzzles are pretty basic and very easy to figure out, mostly revolving around pushing ice blocks to help you reach an elevated area or directing them onto a switch on the ground to open the door to the next room. The platforming part on the other hand is very rich, you will encounter a wide variety of obstacles, ranging from moving platforms to ones that collapse a few seconds after you step into them or others that you can control by directing your character, avoiding fire pits and spike areas. Story and gameplay The isometric design doesn't come without inconveniences tho. The weird angle makes the controls bad and will require some time to get used to it. It feels like the devs designed the game without having the isometric perspective in mind. There are so many instances where you could die because you can't see where the platform is exactly located or because of an inability to gauge the distance correctly. Your shadow will be your best friend throughout the whole game. It's not always visible but it comes in the clutch in some areas where you're struggling to direct your character while avoiding obstacles. As for the story, well... there isn't much to say about it to be honest ? You start off as a kid (you can choose their gender along with the color of their outfit) in some sort of arcade room filled with computers and people playing. One of these machine is gonna aspire you into it and turns you into this small character with a wizard's hat, Lumo. From there on your quest start. You will unlock a jumping ability right off the bat, then in the second area, The Castle, you will unlock some sort of weapon that you can fire up by pressing which will scare some type of enemies away, allowing you to progress through a room. Some type of platforms are also invisible and can only be seen thanks to this firing stick. The final two areas are the Ice World, where every platform is slippery because of the snow, and the Cauldron, located in the middle of some sort of haunted mansion. Trophies Trophy-wise, the game has none less than 36 out of 43 missable trophies so it's best to have a guide within arm's reach ? There is many collectibles in Lumo : 32 ducks, 50 cassettes, 14 maps and 60 coins along with other ones that are story related. Most of them are pretty straightforward, the game makes you sometimes go out of bounds to find a collectible which I thought was a nice little added trick. The ducks are the most annoying and have two trophies related to them. The first one is for collecting all 32 ducks while the second one requires you to never die while holding a duck. Here's how it works : ducks are always placed on a deadly purple water. To collect a duck you need to jump on it then use the little bounce it gives you to land safely on a platform. If done right, you'll be "holding" the duck. In order to claim it, you have to exit the room with it without dying in the process. If you die, the duck goes back to where it was and you have to hop onto it all over again. The workaround for this trophy is to close the application and relaunch the game if you died while holding a duck. Since the game saves when you enter a new room, your death won't be registered. It's a tricky process to get all 32 ducks without dying, when I played the game for the first time, I died at least once at every duck location, which meant I had to quit and relaunch every time. There are also 6 minigames that you can find in the warp zones. You have to pay 10 coins to be able to play a minigame, which means you have to collect all 60 coins to be able to get all the minigames related trophies. You get one shot for every minigame (wisest decision is to back up your save before every one of them), the related trophies mostly requires you to finish the minigame under a certain amount of time. 4 minigames are pretty easy while the last two are more challenging : the first one has you walking on top of a rolling ball with reversed controls. If you push the joystick forward, your character is gonna walk forward which is going to move the ball on the opposite direction. The trick with this minigame is to revert your controller which makes it much easier to manage. the other one, which was the hardest in my opinion has you controlling a bouncing ball and making your way through moving or collapsing platforms and obstacles to finish the minigame under a certain amount of time. I thought those minigames were a nice addition to the main game, it brought a bit of fresh air during a regular playthrough while adding some challenge. Finally, the hardest trophy in the game Old Skool Daze! In Old School Mode, you start with 3 lives, you pick up more as you progress through and you gotta finish the game in one sitting without being able to save. This is where the isometric perspective will become a real problem here because every jump counts. Every time you misjudge a jump and die, it's one less life in your counter. Enjoyment & challenge Personally I wasn’t even born when the genre was popular (80s and early 90s) so nostalgia wasn’t a factor when I picked up this game. I watched some gameplay videos and was somewhat intrigued by the look of the game. I didn’t know anything about isometric platform games so it was a fairly new experience. I thought the game was fun to go for, I enjoyed it even tho it didn't look as good as I anticipated it to be. I loved the lighting and the design of some rooms, while others looked very dull and not really immersive. There is however a little touch that I really liked. When you go for the Old School run, there is two shortcuts you can take at the beginning of the game which makes your run slightly shorter. These secret areas aren't available on a normal run : The devs added a little painting on the walls for anyone that would take them. I thought it was a funny little wrinkle. With all that said, I would rate my overall enjoyment as a 5/10. As for the challenge, everything revolves around the Old School playthrough. It can be quite frustrating because you can have a good run and end up losing a couple of lives back to back in a room which will force you to start all the way from the beginning. When I played the game for the first time, there was a room I couldn't get past through without dying at least half a dozen time. It was the room where you have to go from chain to chain to pass through a wide area of purple water. I had to practice it before going for my Old School run. In my opinion, I would rate the platinum difficulty something between 5 and 6 out of 10, so let's say 5.5. To conclude, Lumo is one of the last few games I played on my former account so the muscle memory was still fresh. When I started it on this account, I challenged myself into speedrunning through it and try to get the platinum as quick as possible. I wasn't able to be the fastest achiever but managed to get in the top 3 by a good margin so I'm happy about it ? I kinda enjoyed the challenge to be honest so I might try to go for fastest achiever on a couple more games I already finished on my former account, we'll see how it goes ? Thank you to everyone who took the time to read my first review on this checklist. I'm still wondering how my original post is gonna look like when I will have a bunch of them, I want to make it easier for people to find a review for a specific game without having to scroll through all the topic. Still working on it haha ? See you all soon for some new adventures, take care in the meantime my friends ? Still working on it haha That was a great start! I hope more people read this Lumo review - I've never really had that much of an idea what Lumo is - and now after reading that I think I do, you did a really great job of defining it, both its strengths and its weaknesses. I really enjoyed reading that - looking forward to the next one. This is just a suggestion - because this is how I do it, and you might be completely different, but I put links to all my reviews in my first post, and update it every time I add something new. I don't think I'm the only one on here that does that either. I doubt anyone probably uses that to find mine, because they are all behind spoiler tags, but I thought it was easier that way, as showing like 330 pictures and links in the first post without spoiler tags would probably look a mess, but I put them there for if anyone wanted to find something specific. I always thought it would be easier to have them there, then just leave a link for them, as long as you let people know that's where they can find them, it should be pretty easy for folk to find. So that's always an option if you eventually want to have somewhere solid to put all of your reviews once you get a page or so in. I enjoyed the format of the review, and the small details such as the quote below the game image And I thought that you touched upon the most important aspects of the game and what it does well (and what it doesn't). The isometric perspective in certain areas is also what bothered me the most, especially for certain ducks, the chain area and the one area where you have to traverse a pit of spikes and firetraps while in an air bubble ? That is actually the only place I died during my Old Skool Daze run, and I just couldn't get through consistently... But other than the control issues, and despite me not having played these types of games either, I thought that the game had a lot of charme It's also short enough that it doesn't get boring. Again, good job on the review! And thanks for the shout-out when it comes to the aesthetics of the first post ?

You know - that is an exceptionally good idea, good call man - and I think the way they both have the thumbnails before is fantastic too. At least that way you do know what's actually behind the spoiler tags. I don't like having to scroll through them myself in my own thread to find something specific, I can't memorise the order of every single platinum I've gotten over the last ten yeas.... So I guess that..... ......Leads me onto this. 1 hour ago, Arcesius said: And thanks for the shout-out when it comes to the aesthetics of the first post Well, they are super nice to look at to be fair. Arc do you mind if I stick some thumbnails in my first post? We haven't got exactly the same order of platinum's or anything so it wouldn't look the same anyway I just thought I'd ask first, because I don't want you to feel like I'm borrowing too much of you or Briste's awesome format, or feel like "hey that sonuvvvabitch stole my line/images......" ? I'll just use the site thumbnails anyway if I did. It'll help now that I've started doing the "you can request a review thing if you like," like Doc does - because until Pluto posted that, I hadn't really thought about how much of a pain it is to really look to see which things have and haven't been reviewed in my own thread. I can't expect people to sift through twenty pages, that's a bit unreasonable. Looks like I might have a bit more editing to do. Sorry to derail this a bit Pluto.... Back to the you centric part - I saw Resident Evil Revelations 2 was in your backlog! Have you played that one before? Or will that be a new one to you? That's a really fun platinum (in my opinion) so I hope you enjoy that one as much as I did - Countdown Mode is such a fun little speed challenge and invisible mode is really interesting - so I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts on that when you eventually play through it on this new account. At least that way you do know what's actually behind the spoiler tags. I don't like having to scroll through them myself in my own thread to find something specific, I can't memorise the order of every single platinum I've gotten over the last ten yeas.... So I guess that..... ......Leads me onto this. Well, they are super nice to look at to be fair. Arc do you mind if I stick some thumbnails in my first post? We haven't got exactly the same order of platinum's or anything so it wouldn't look the same anyway I just thought I'd ask first, because I don't want you to feel like I'm borrowing too much of you or Briste's awesome format, or feel like "hey that sonuvvvabitch stole my line/images......" I'll just use the site thumbnails anyway if I did. Hahaha no problem my friend, but yeah it might be a good idea, especially for you since you have 300+ games, it could make it much easier to find your way when looking for a specific review. ? 6 hours ago, rjkclarke said: Back to the you centric part - I saw Resident Evil Revelations 2 was in your backlog! I haven't played it on my former account so this is gonna be a new one ! I grabbed the game on a 60% sale I think. I really liked the gameplay videos I watched and the different modes looked appealing so I'm probably in for a treat ? Did you find the platinum challenging ? Was the 7/10 mark on the guide accurate in your opinion ?

I'm sure he won't mind - if he does I'll just change it back. It did take quite a while yeah, you're not wrong- I definitely underestimated that one - still I had nothing to do this evening, and I can't really go anywhere as I have an absolutely nasty head cold right now, so I'd just be wandering around sneezing in perpetuity, and that's not fun to be around, right? .... So my night has been coffee, music and meticulously pasting in thumbnails for a looooooong old time. 5 hours ago, PlutoRico said: I haven't played it on my former account so this is gonna be a new one ! Difficulty is subjective - so I guess take this with a pinch of salt, but I'd probably say that for me Revelations 2 was like a 5/10 maybe (if that) if I was going to actually put it on an actual difficulty scale. I think the difficulty is pretty fair, even on invisible enemy mode - you basically have to learn the game inside out. Which I like personally, as you end up really delving into the dodge mechanics and some of the melee combat, and crafting. I found the countdown mode pretty challenging - but awesome at the same time, the type of game where you absolutely feel like you've mastered it by the end of your playtime with it. I'd say you're definitely in for a treat with that one.
Briste
On 10/21/2021 at 10:05 PM, PlutoRico said: I thought about doing that to be honest. I like how @Arcesius and @Briste did it 10 by 10 while also adding pics for every game before the spoiler tag, I might follow that idea because it's easier to look for a specific review if needed, instead of having to go through all of the games. Thanks for the shout out! I started doing that so that it gave me a reason to make sure the OP was up to date and a good snap shot of what was on the following pages, but as I've gotten more and more games under my belt, it definitely helps to keep things organized. I definitely recommend some sort of organization that works for you. If you like our format and it works for you, go for it it's hardly proprietary lol You have a wide variety of games in your backlog. Any one you're looking forward to starting or any genre that tends to be your favorite?
Baker
Nice checklist! I liked your old profile and I couldn’t help but notice the games you already played on this new one: Kung Fu Panda, Lumo and In Space We Brawl (stacked). This looks to me like what UR hunters do and the ‘I’m going to play ? games for UR trophies’ mentality. Don’t do it! ? Anyway. Good luck!

I would say the game I'm the most eager to start is definitely Trials Fusion, I heard a lot of good things about the game, and looking at gameplay videos, it looks challenging but very exciting. On the other hand, the game that scares me the most would be Trackmania Turbo. To be honest I tried the game for about 15 minutes on a burner account and I was already struggling on the second track ? I'm really a rookie when it comes to racer so I'll probably be in for a tough time with this game It might be a while until I play them tho, right now I'm focusing on online heavy games that are currently sitting on my backlog. I want to get them out of the way as fast as possible so I can take my time with other games. I also want to keep Trials and Trackmania games for some milestones so ? To be honest I started paying attention to my UR count a couple months ago when I was done with Max Payne, I felt like my ratio of UR trophies was way too low compared to my total trophy count, that's when I started looking to get more. When I started this account I wanted to build my UR count up so I got those games done quickly since I still own them. Having thousands of UR looks appealing on a profile so I'll try to get as many as I can but I won't solely focus on that ? Popular Post PlutoRico
Time Crisis : Razing Storm - Update #1 When I first started this checklist, I wrote down "Time Crisis : Razing Storm (along with two move controllers)" on my wishlist. A few days later, I was lucky enough to find a good deal for some PS3 move controllers along with an eye camera while scrolling through the net so I didn't hesitate much. I ordered a copy of Time Crisis right after and received everything in the same day. Lucky me, I was finally ready to undertake the terrible grind that was waiting for me and the funniest part is that I wasn't even aware of it ? While being in the process of making some research study for the game and wondering if I would be interested enough to play it, I didn't really check the trophy list to be frankly honest. I don't know why I skipped that step because that's something I always do when deciding what game I should tackle next. The fact that there is no guide here on PSNProfiles didn't help either. I remember that my main concern was to know whether the servers were still active or not. But besides that, I jumped on the multiplayer without knowing the trophy requirements, I kinda learned them on the fly while boosting ? So I started contacting some people to take on the online grind but they weren't very active despite texting them a couple times through several days. Hence, I decided to get Lumo done in the meantime, a single player only game I could speedrun since I already did it on my old account and knew the layouts pretty well. After being done with Lumo, I got added to another group of people that were more active so I didn't waste any more time and decided to jump on the train, they had already started so I had to catch up. I honestly didn't realize the multiplayer grind was so massive. Here's what you need to do to finish the online component of the game : - Getting 7,650 kills and play 765 matches - Reach max level (50) three times, which means getting prestige 2 level 50 - Getting 10,000 points in Capture the Flag, 50,000 points in Deathmatch, 70,000 points in Team Deathmatch and 200,000 points in King of the Hill - Getting some misc trophies (10 kills in a row without dying, playing all modes, using all weapons, taking down 2 enemies simultaneously with a grenade etc.) As you may have guessed, the whole online grind revolves around that number of kills. Pretty much everything else will be earned in the process. I started the game on October 21st, and after a solid grinding of exactly 1 week, 3 days, 22 hours, 15 minutes and 32 seconds, I popped the last online trophy. Funny enough it wasn't even the kills trophy but instead the 765 matches. I went well over the level requirements, in fact, I even reached prestige 4 level 45 What's next ? Even tho the online component of the game was the grindiest part, the real challenge comes now. There is three modes left : Story, Arcade and Sentry and that's where the move controllers will come in handy. The priority now is to beat Arcade mode and get all the related trophies because this is the last part of the game that requires some kind of online connectivity. You need to be connected to the PSN to get a ranking in the online leaderboards. After that, I can take as much time as I want to finish the game, the rest is basically single player only. I don't know if I will want to take a break and play something else or if I will hold on it and try to finish it before moving on, we will see ? That was all for this episode, see you next time my friends ? Edited November 3, 2021 by PlutoRico
S_y_n_e_IR_g_Y
Hey mate, congrats! The online grind of time crisis is so tedious.. For me it was almost as bad as far cry 2, but i boosted both Games by myself with 4 ps3s? Keep in mind, that the arcade mode is also online, its connected to the leaderboard! So you could see every arcade mode trophy as an online trophy aswell. A tip from my side, try to copy a run like this, as good as you can: Best of luck!

Thank you my friend, will come in handy when I try to go for it in the next few days ? It must've been annoying that you had to move 3 other players to get kills and the points related trophies for your main account, but it's for the better because you don't have to take turns boosting. Every time I have to work on some online trophies for a game, I wish I had that setup at home, it would save so much time ? I remember the first time I scrolled through your profile I noticed you had a game where you was missing only one single easy trophy so at first I thought it glitched on you but then I realized you did that on purpose for most of your games ? Are you planning on getting that platinum day anytime soon or is it something you would like to do at the far end of your gaming journey ? I've always wondered how you came up with this idea. I hope you're planning on documenting it, maybe through a checklist of your own ? I would be interested to follow the process haha. Anyway, you've got a great profile my friend, I scrolled through it several times to gather some gaming ideas, you've done plenty of games I'm planning to tackle next. I'm excited to see how it's gonna look like after that platinum day when you will get all the trophies you're missing ? KindaSabbath
Yo, my dude! So happy to see you've finally got around to making your own checklist! It's great to see that it's off to a strong start already - some great write ups, really tidy format and already full of awesome people with great conversation! P.s That grind on Time Crisis sounds horrific! Congrats on getting the bulk of it done. I really don't have the attention span for things like that. Unless there is an S-Rank shaped carrot dangling in front of me - then it's pretty much game on no matter what ?

TheGreaterMoose
As someone who has done the same exact thing, (fresh start) I can assure you it does pay off, I'm about 3 years into my new account and while the numbers are alot smaller I am definitely more satisfied looking at my profile now rather then the 3000+ unearned on my old. Best of luck to you on this journey! you have some fantastic games to go through that you should enjoy

Lots of fun so far but I need more practice to get it done haha, hope I can knock it off in the next few days. ? 1 hour ago, TheGreaterMoose said: As someone who has done the same exact thing, (fresh start) I can assure you it does pay off, I'm about 3 years into my new account and while the numbers are alot smaller I am definitely more satisfied looking at my profile now rather then the 3000+ unearned on my old. You've got a nice profile with some great games completed, hats off ! I agree with you tho, being satisfied when you take a look at your profile is way more important than chasing numbers. I was reluctant to start from scratch at first but honestly I don't regret it one bit. I even wish I had done it sooner so I wouldn't have to go through some games twice haha ?
