I just finished the plat, and it was enjoyable. There are no enemies, no time limits, nothing stressful like that. It is simply running around using season-based mechanics and making flowers bloom. Adding on a puzzle game as I want another break before I dive into Harvest Moon.
Popular Post RoastedPeanut
Update #5 Hey everyone! July already?! Well damn, where has the time gone. I knocked out pretty much all of F.I.S.T this past week. I've only got three trophies left and they are all pretty straight forward so I should have the platinum next time I fire it up. It's also part of another challenge commencing July 4, so I'll wait until then to finish it off. I started up Bayonetta a couple of days ago and just finished my first playthrough on normal. I forgot how over the top and awesome that game is. I'll probably fire up my PS3 copy and finish that off as well soon after I'm done with the PS4 remaster. I got most of the misc. trophies during my normal playthrough, but I'm going to drop the difficulty and mop up the rest and the Alfheim portals before I move on to hard and non-stop infinite climax mode. I also fired up and finished Gunstar Heroes in a little under 90 minutes. I really loved that game on the sega mega drive as a kid, but I never actually finished it off. I've really been enjoying playing some games from my childhood (bit of an indication of how old I actually am ) , so I'll probably grab the Sonic Origins collection pretty soon as well. New Little King's Story has been quite enjoyable as well. I haven't played it as much as I'd like to yet, but I'll make some time to really get into it next week. Happy hunting, everyone! 1. Popular Post Heather342
Update 5 Hi guys, hope everyone's been having a fantastic week. My week has been pretty chill, and I'm almost up to date on Stranger Things (up to S4 E6). Challenge wise I decided to boot up Team Sonic Racing. Not really too much to say here, I'm still trying to get to grips with the mechanics of the game (my muscle memory is programmed to Crash Team Racing and this game isn't the same ?). I've started up the adventure mode and just plodding along right now. I got the trophy for finishing chapter 1 and a few other miscellaneous things. Also got some of the other annoying trophies out of the way, one where you need 3 players in a local match (good job I had some spare controllers), and one for beating a friend's time on the leaderboard. This sounds like it should be easy, but it is a buggy trophy and tedious beyond belief. There are no search functions on the leaderboards at all, no quick search scrolling, nothing. You literally have to scroll one at a time through thousands of lines to find your friend, and even then it's no guarantee the trophy will pop. I had 2 different friends on the leaderboard, and I beat the times on about 6 different occasions and no trophy. It seems there's a weird glitch where if your friend list is too big it just doesn't work. So I ended up having to purge a few PSN IDs from my friend list, then scroll for ages again to find my friend and thankfully that time the trophy popped ? But then Thursday rolled around, and that sweet Cuphead DLC landed and I've been distracted ever since ?. It seems I'm also a sucker for all the challenges that pop up on Discord, and I signed up for a new season of Plat the Alphabet. Because of this, I'll be using my first swap. My assigned letter was B, so Bayonetta is coming in for this backlog event and Ni No Kuni is out. Keep up all the great work everyone, and happy hunting! Trophy progress: Team Sonic Racing - 4 -> 20% Swaps used (1/3) Ni No Kuni (0%) -> Bayonetta (0%)

Popular Post StilRh
Hey guys. Hope it's been a good week. Having worked 5 night shifts this week I've no new trophies to show for the challenge though have spent some decent time with Genesis Alpha One a fun hybrid game. Having completed the game on the hardest difficulty, I now have to go through the COD campaign again, collecting the intels, finishing levels without dying, and any level-based trophies. However the one I think that will cause me the most trouble is running the Pit in sub 18.7 seconds. So far my best is 28 seconds. Digimon just requires a few collection trophies (695/700 medals, 29/36 memories,19/20 Mr Navits repaired), 1 leveling trophy (Hacker level 14/20), and the 2 most difficult mission trophies (Offline Colosseum and Abyss Server), but his one may take a back seat for the next few days. WIll be traveling for several days and my PS4 is staying at home. I will have my Ipad so I'll be able to connect through remote play. so a game like Digimon (and if I finish it FFX-2) will be ideal for those days. Apart from that, I mostly played Trials of Mana (2 playthroughs done, one to go) and got a little further in Assassins Creed: Rogue (currently in Chapter 3 of 7). Ultra Age This game so wants 2B Nier Automata (which isn`t a bad thing). From the fighting system, over the setting to the graphics and camera perspectives. The fighting is really fun. The protagonist has a grappling hook and can transform his sword in different types (that are good against different enemy types). The swords can break (which allows a special attack shortly before the break) but there are enough new swords that this doesn`t become a problem. The game plays on an post apocalyptic earth like Nier Automata (some of the later levels like a desert or a factory ruin could be directly from that game. It even has the forced 2D camera perspective). It is on the shorter side, with only 5-6 hours to play through the game (and get the platinum) but I had fun for most of the time.
Popular Post KimBongUn420
Update 5: #148 My Name is Mayo 3 I'm not reviewing this lol #149 Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin [PS5] Time: 35h Difficulty: 5/10 Grind: 4/10 Enjoyment: 6/10 I've spoken a lot about this game in previous updates so I'll keep it simple: this game is essentially a dumbed-down version of Nioh 2. That doesn't necessarily mean it's bad; the difficulty setting makes it more accessible for newcomers, the combat is still really well done, and there's a wide variety of play styles to be found. Team Ninja did a great job of implementing the FF Job system to the classes. The environments are very pretty and the game runs very smoothly at 60fps, although this took a few patches to complete. Unfortunately, the platinum requirements barely scratch the surface of the game's job and equipment systems, and there really isn't a lot of replayability. This is probably my biggest criticism of the game, and like I've said before, unless you're really into FF or you want an easier experience, just go play Nioh 2 instead. However, there's one area where this game can't be beat, and that's in comedic value. I refuse to believe the developers took themselves seriously when they made this game. The writing is terrible, the story is a mess, and the characters are so wooden and undeveloped that the original FF1 probably did a better job of character development. It's far, FAR into "so bad it's good" territory. The word Chaos is voiced 97 times in the dialogue. When Jack yelled "bullshit" at Neon and walked away blasting nu-metal I completely lost it laughing. The entire game is a giant shitpost, in the vein of Metal Gear Rising. This game has endless meme potential and it's worth playing for that alone. Overall 6.5/10 but in pure entertainment value it's like a 15/10. #150 Lost Judgment [PS5] Time: 115h Difficulty: 6/10 (5/10 with DLC) Grind: 8.5/10 Enjoyment: 10/10 So far, this is the best game I've played all year and it's not even close. LJ improves on its predecessor in pretty much every way. The fighting is the best it's ever been in the entire Yakuza series, and all 4 combat styles are fun as hell to play. The School Stories was an excellent addition to the game and a nice change of pace from the typical "50-100 substories or side cases" that the Yakuza series typically has. I thought all of the games introduced as part of the School Stories were fantastic, even the robot arena that people like to rage about. The boxing one in particular is incredibly well done. All of the gambling games are still great, although I"m happy the cheat items being super cheap on 1.00 reduced the grind. Drone races, which were probably the most difficult part of the platinum on the PS5 version of Judgment, are extremely fun and much easier to complete this go round. Dice and Cube VR has a number of improvements from the Judgment version that make it way less tedious to complete. Aircelios is a new addition which was...ok? I honestly could have gone without it. LJ has a campaign DLC for the first time in a Yakuza game - The Kaito Files. It's about 5h long and is well worth your time. There are a couple of areas areas where I have criticism: the new QTE mechanics for the boss fights are absolutely infuriating, and I think the story is worse than Judgment's. Judgment's story was paced better and felt more impactful, while Lost Judgment's story tends to wander, is unnecessarily convoluted, and has a rushed ending. That being said, I thought LJ's story did a very good job of touching a subject (bullying) that traditionally is very hard to characterize and write about. Also, School Stories had some DLC that was borderline P2W, offering a maxed out bike for the death race story and a high-level robot for the robot arena story. It wasn't that egregious, and I've seen much worse - looking at you, Tales of Arise - but it's still there and worth mentioning. In summary, Lost Judgment is a fantastic game and a bargain even at full price. I do recommend playing Judgment first though, for continuity of the story. 9/10 overall score. Plans for this week: Probably going to take a break from the list and work on the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC for AC Valhalla, as much as I think it sucks. Trying to get that game 100% completed so I can get it off my console storage. I'm still trying to find my guidebook for Cyberpunk 2077, so I can start that back up. I normally never buy guidebooks but if any game ever needed one, it's that one lol. Popular Post DizzyDavidson
Hello Folks! How's everyone doing? I'm doing pretty good myself. Not so sure backlog challenge-wise but here's my update: Resistance 3 [PS3] - 0% MotoGP 18 [PS4] - 10% SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle For Bikini Bottom [PS4] - 100% Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires [PS3] - 0% -> 41% Papers, Please [Vita] - 0% So I started Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires right when I said I would but after playing for a week I still didn't earn any trophies. It was only this past weekend when it really picked up. It took me that long to find the perfect balance between earning trophies and playing the actual game. The guides I read pretty much have you "sim"-ing the months and swooping in at the last moment to finish the scenarios. There are 5 of them, that require you to take over all territories. You can either be the ruler (who decides on invading other territories) or an officer depending on the AI ruler to pick while doing misc battles in-between. I didn't want to go by the guides so I first went with the officer the natural way but the AI ruler was taking too long so I became a ruler myself and sped things up. I do miss out on misc battles this way but I still get plenty of action. Playing as an officer wasn't a complete waste of time either as I collected a lot of points to unlock voices, BGM and stuff for a trophy. All in all I really enjoy the game playing this way. The trophy list is really easy too. It's just playing a battle with certain characters (when they join my army I play as them to unlock their trophy), finishing all 5 scenarios and unlocking all the extra stuff I mentioned above. I should be able to finish the game this week then it's on to Resistance 3 (kind of slowed down with The Division 2 anyway). If I can knock that out by the end of the month I'd say I'm still good on my list. So long peeps!
Popular Post RoastedPeanut
Update #6 Hey everyone! I'm a bit early with my update this week, but I want to utilise a swap and figured why not? I finished off the remainig trophies for F.I.S.T. I really enjoyed it, but it definitely had a few performance issues on the PS4. There were a lot of times when the background took longer to load when transitioning to a new area and just lots of slow down in certain parts. Those issues aside, it was still a really solid game and I enjoyed my time with it. I'd be down for a second game for sure. I also juuuuust got my platinum for Bayonetta. I fell in love with this game when I first played it on PS3 and I'm really happy to have the platinum for the remaster. In all honesty, my first playthrough on normal was the most difficult for me. I was pretty poor with my dodge timing and actually strugged a bit with certain enemies, but my hard and non-stop infinite climax mode playthroughs were far smoother. While I won't jump straight back into it again for awhile, I'd like to go back and platinum the PS3 version as well sometime. I'll be starting Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus next and chipping away at New Little King's Story a bit more while my poor PS Vita still has a bit of life left in it. As for my swap, I'm going to switch The Sims 4 for Sword & Fairy 6....I've heard a few performance horror stories about that game so hopefully I don't regret my decision! Happy hunting, everyone! 1. Popular Post rcrharvick
Update for 7/6: Angry Video Game Nerd I & II Deluxe - 26% Ratchet and Clank 2: Going Commando (Vita) - 5% The Last of Us: Remastered - 32% Assassins's Creed 2 - 0% LEGO Batman 3 (PS3) - 100 % Sly 3 (PS3) - 22% => 100% The Saboteur - 100% Dirt 5 (PS4) - 100% LEGO Incredibles - 0% => 4% The Walking Dead Season 1 (PS4) - 0% Finished up Sly 3 so I am done with the Sly Cooper series as a whole, both PS3 and Vita versions. If I had to rank the games I would say 1 > 4 > 3 > 2, with 2 being far behind 3 lol. Unfortunately with the holiday weekend, I didn't make a ton of progress. The gaming that I did do was with my friends on Back4Blood and Fall Guys. I did start Lego Incredibles, but not sure if that's what I'm going to make #299. I mainly started it just to make some progress on something on my list. #300 is going to be Last of Us Remastered, so just gotta figure out what that in-between platinum is going to be. I played a little bit more of AVGN, but now I'm considering possibly using a substitution on that one. I think the platinum is doable, but is more of a question of do I wanna be pissed off during this challenge going for the Perfect on all levels trophy? Might save it for last and see what kind of time I have left for the challenge. Will probably start Last of Us as well this week to break up some of the frustration I'm sure I'll have on Survivor/Grounded mode. Hope to make some big progress this week as a catch up. Happy hunting out there!
Popular Post Static_Rook
Update 5 - 7/6/2022 Child of Light 9% 38% Croixleur Sigma 66% 73% As expected, Sunbreak is taking up all of my game time. I did manage to make a little progress in Child of Light and Croixleur Sigma but that's it. Getting the high score trophies in Croixleur has been tougher than I thought it would be. Being quick while also building and keeping a chain of 500+ going is like a whole new difficulty level. I'm getting closer, but I'm also pretty sick of the game at this point. I might take a break and focus on finishing Child of Light and some other game before coming back. That usually means I never go back, but after swapping in mostly short games I might actually do it this time. Maybe! We'll see. Take care! Popular Post ArtisticGeek
Update #2 Okay wow so first off sorry for being gone for so long, I really should just stop saying I’ll try and post more cause every time I fail at it. Tho it’s been a mix of a lot of IRL stuff and the length of my chosen games. I only have one last achievement for NieR and that’s the speed run play through that I’m competing with a friend to see who can finish it first so hopefully that’ll be done soon just been waiting for the schedules to line up. I’m getting through Horizon but I’m definitely going to need a break for a bit with the other games before I head back for the new game+ run. 1: Horizon Forbidden West - 47% 2: Biomutant 3:Atelier Meruru ~ The Apprentice of Arland 4:Yakuza 3 5: Our World is Ended 6: GalGun Double Peace - 100% 7: Kotodama: The 7 mysteries of Fujisawa 8: Hitman: Blood Money 9: Hitman: Absolution 10: Ghost Runner - 100% 11: NieR Replicant - 97%
Popular Post xItsLesterx
Update #3 Let's go. We got another update. I completed South Park: Stick of Truth and immediately jumped into South Park: The Fractured but Whole. While I didn't include the first one on my list because it was over the completion percentage allowed, what can I say? Amazing game. You know developers didn't hold back. Now, with the sequel, while it was also good, I don't think it was AS GOOD as the first one. Still, very solid game and highly recommended. Now, I'm going to jump into the online grind that will be Star Wars Battlefront. I feel like if I am able to, at least, get the 100% on this one, then the event will be a success for me. Games list: Battlefield 1 (0% => 100%) Battlefield V (2% => 100%)) South Park: The Fractured but Whole (0% => 100%) Star Wars Battlefront (0%) Star Wars Battlefront II (38%) Amazing seeing everyone's progress. We're almost halfway through the event and everyone is just solid on their progress. Great seeing that.
Popular Post Doctor Completion
Progress to report! Summer 2022 Backlog Challenge scoreboard: Portal Knights (100%) Eiyuden Chronicles Rising (0%) Dragon's Crown Pro (0%) Odin Sphere Leifthrasir (0%) Valthirian Arc: High School Story (100%) Finished Valthirian Arc this evening. The alternate endings dragged on a bit, so I rushed through them as quickly as I could. Crafting Lucky weapons and accessories was simply a breather between missions. In the end, having all the best buildings constructed and maxed will make almost any mission a breeze including the three big-bad-bosses for the best weapons in game. The Magic 8-Ball told me to cool my jets before jumping into Eiyuden. I'll just chill with some Genshin catch-up and then pick up the new backlog title in the morning.
Popular Post Fanatixa1
Hey everyone Heres my update for the week. I almost got the platinum in Salt and Sanctuary but unfortunately I missed out on an ending and I need to do a replay of the game. I will do this next week. I’ve played quit some Danganronpa 2 this week. I almost finished up the 3rd trial and I’m exited to continue the story. Next to these two games I started Pic-a-pix classic 2 on Vita. I really like Japanese puzzles and having it in a video game form is great. Lego: Harry Potter years 1-4 - 100% Salt and Sanctuary - 4% —> 91% Danganronpa 2 - 7% —> 11% The Last of Us Remastered 4% Cuphead - 20% Pix-a-pix Classic - 27% Pic-a-pix Classic 2 - 0% —> 26% Lego the Hobbit - 100% Super Perils Of Baking - 22%Lost in Random - 0% Swaps 3/3
Popular Post YaManSmevz
Update #5 7/7/22 What up, Challenge crew?? Short update for me this week - we ended up going out of town, so my gaming hit a hard halt. Very eager to get back to work though, so that's a good thing! Transistor and SOMA are in the books. The former is an absolute master class in game development; between its looks and its gameplay this thing has got style for days. The story is cool and the music is stunning, particularly the song that plays at the end. The latter is an incredible experience full of tension and dread, and I really dug the light elements of transhumanism thrown in. One thing though - the path to the final area alone made me wish I'd taken the safe mode route! Following those lights is so annoying, it's such a long trek and fools just pop up out of nowhere to kill you! Only got a quick taste, but TMNT: Shredder's Revenge is an absolute blast! The look, music, and gameplay all do an outstanding job of recalling the flavor of the old arcade games while injecting some new life and modern twists at the same time. Really can't wait to get back to this one! Like @Heather342, I will also be held hostage to the new Cuphead DLC? As always it's been a joy checking in with everybody's progress, y'all are straight up beasts!! 1. Transistor (46-->100%) ️ 2. Salt and Sanctuary (0%) 3. Stick It to the Man! ️ 4. Guacamelee! ️ 5. Unmetal ️ 6. SOMA (14-->100%) ️ 7. Flipping Death ️ 8. TMNT: Shredder's Revenge (0-->20%)
Popular Post Yuna
Update #2! 1. It Takes Two 2% - trying to set this as Plat 99 as I play with my husband every now and again. 2. Lost In Random 100% 3. God of War 100% - This was a total pain to get through at the end, but was a nice addition to my collection of plats. Need to get the rest of the GoW series done! 4. Nier JP 100% - Playing this game in another language was a fun challenge! And I set this plat up as my 4,000th trophy! 5. Hollow Knight 0% I am still procrastinating on Hollow Knight. I know it needs to get done, but I have seen my husband play it a bit and not excited to die endlessly. Thinking I should add a few more games to my list since I've cleared 3/5 so far. Maybe I should use a swap and just get rid of HK and put some more relaxing games on...
Popular Post Metal Slime King
Update 5 1.) Red Faction: Guerrilla (PS3) - 40%2.) Jump Force (PS4) - 31% -> 100% [shutdown 8/24] 3.) Blade Kitten (PS3) - 28% 4.) Magrunner: Dark Pulse (PS3) - 15%5.) Back to the Future: The Game - 0% -> 100%6.) Final Fantasy VII Remake (PS4) - 30% -> 97%7.) LEGO The Incredibles (PS4) - 5% -> 100%8.) Super Bomberman R Online (PS4) - 0% -> 100% [shutdown 12/1] 9.) Stick it to the Man (PS4) - 0% -> 100% 10.) LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: Universe in Peril (Vita) - 19% -> 37% Finished up the Hard run in FF7R, got the plat rigged for trophy #14000 with an easy collectible. Shame I already plat FF14 on PS4 and don't own a PS5. Oh well, the second coming of FF7, 7 x 2 = 14, good enough. Finally got past the last VR challenge, Bahamut was definitely the main obstacle. Really tromped through the rest of the Hard run with that accessory that starts every combat encounter with a full Limit meter. I really enjoyed this FF7 revisit, a great PS+ pickup, looks like there's something now that might pique my interest getting a PS5. It's been a little too hot and muggy to fire up the PS3, resorted to the old Vita and a LEGO game I dropped in March at 19%. Kind of an odd duck for a LEGO game, probably because it's a 3DS port. The levels are short but there are 10 different challenges in each one and it's game over if you run out of hp so some of them are pretty tough. Got through all the levels and unlocked the Invincibility red brick, so just cleaning up challenges now.
Popular Post Hurricane_Tanya
Ok, update time. I still haven’t finished anything. There’s just too many other games as well as this list, but I am making slow progress - Tomb Raider - 20% >> 23% - SpongeBob SquarePants BfBB- 13% >> 28% - inFAMOUS Second Son - 1% - Shadow Warrior - 0% >> 51% >> inFAMOUS 2 - 24% - Islanders - 0% >> 17% Swaps used 2/3 Swapping out Shadow Warrior 3. I was playing through ps now/plus premium, but I left it too late (completely my fault). I was enjoying the game and I’ll pick it up in a sale, it’s made me interested in checking out the other 2 games in the series too. So I’ve swapped it for infamous 2, I wanted to get this finished and platinumed before Second Son anyway. August will be very busy for me because my daughter will be at home (no school), but hopefully I’ll still have time to finish them all. I’ll definitely get to finish SpongeBob at least because she loves him, she thinks he’s called CheeseBob
