Days gone has been neglected a bit as I got into GoW more, not huge progress but loving the game so far.

Knocked out some more challenges and special rings in Sonic.

Also started a new game yesterday with my gf as we finished SoS, Farm together. And damn it's addicting.

With the holiday season right around the corner I probably won't have much time to play or update, bjt I'll stop by if I pop another plat in the next 3 weeks.

I finished Ys VIII (PS5) last night! Found out I didn't have to do the Dana Dungeon sections for the Nightmare True Ending trophy, which I wish I had known before I did that on the ps4 version. ? Either way, it was nice to go back to the game and platinum it all over again. Still probably my favorite of the Ys games that I've played.

 

That was my 98th platinum, so I'm trying to plan a bit to get something special for 100. From everything that I've heard, Cult of the Lamb will be very much up my alley, so I'm gonna do that for 100. Which means that for 99, I'm gonna start with Toem. It should be a nice break from a big RPG as well.

Criminal Girls: Invite Only - Vita - 47% -> 56%

No change as I made the ending saves after I knighted all the girls but hadn't done any level grinding before hand. (My avarice blinded me to this fact. I just wanted the Silver Trophies).

 

Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom - PS5 - 27% -> 35% -> 85%

Once I figured out that I didn't need 100% proficiency with each piece of equipment to get the Blacksmithing Expert trophy I powered through the sales trophies. Now on to the post game content.

 

 

Death End re;Quest - PS4 - 17% -> 18%

Day of the Tentacle - Vita - 4%

 

As I get closer to finishing BotSK, I should look at my list and figure out what to replace it with.

So it took me eight hours but I finally got the final Eventide game in platinum. It took me four hours to do the first run. Yes, I had to do a second because I missed a card and an ornament. (Luckily, the latter was early in the game but the card was missed at the very end, which was annoying. I am so glad Artifex Mundi lets you skip puzzles even if it take 30 seconds for the skip to activate.)

 

With that, I'm basically ready to make Dark Cloud 2 my 70th platinum. Yes, I have to get one more platinum beforehand but it's a meme so it'll be easy to get there. I'm only doing the next platinum because its number is a meme that suits its nature, so I am sure you can guess what it is.

What's up, all you beautiful challenge slayers?? Another slow week on my end, was out of town for about half of it (real life in December, you know how that shit go). The month is already half over, when the hell did that happen??

 

Anyway.

 

GTA IV is down to the speed run and Gay Tony, which I'm starting tonight. Dreading those 100% ratings, but I was able to do it for GTA V, there's no reason to think I won't be able to do it again. Besides, I love that DLC. The base game, all of it really... GTA IV Stan for life?

 

Started playing God of War and I can't tell you how many times I found myself thinking "Fuck I forgot how fun this game is!!" The controls have aged startlingly well, considering this game is almost twenty years old! Plowing through it pretty quickly, and I already know the Challenge of the Gods is gonna be a pain but if I play my cards right God of War 2 will be up sooner than later!

I finished this game for the previous challenge and it made me want to quit video games altogether. You've made it past the worst of it though so hang in there. The post-game grinding is easy compared to what came before. And there's a post in the PS Trophies forums for the game that shows how to cheese the last dungeon's boss fights, it saves a ton of time.

Yeahhhhhhh, not happy about that. They aren't even updating stuff. It's just another port for like the 4th time.

Mid-month update

12/15/22

 

December sure seems to be playing at 45RPM this year as I can't believe its already the 15th. I find myself jumping around between games much more than I am used to lately for whatever reason. I can't seem to find any real reason for it. Anyways here is an update on what I have got going on lately..

 

 

Fallout Shelter

I have been tinkering around in this game on and off (mostly off) for 3 years. Its time this one was finished up and completed off the backlog so I have been more focused on working towards building up my vault and dwellers to complete the trophy list. It will still take some time as I am not time skipping this but I am making progress so Im happy.

 

Sound Shapes

Was always curious about this little game and had a lot of fun playing through it with my daughter passing the controller back and forth. The Death Mode challenges are no joke though (at least for me) and take practice but Im knocking them out slowly.

 

A Fisherman's Tale  *NEW

My PSVR has mostly sat idle for most of the year and this little puzzle game was a good excuse to break it out again. I do have to do another complete run-through in this game yet that is a bit more efficient with solving the puzzles as I was having fun picking up and tossing things everywhere during my blind first run. Turns out there was a trophy for completing game only picking up 150 objects. Ooops... 

 

South Park: The Fractured But Whole

Loaded this up last night as I just felt in the mood for some good old South Park humour so was the perfect time to get back into this game and make some progress. Played for 3-4hrs last night completing quests and finding collectibles. This morning I realized I messed up and picked the wrong difficulty setting and locked myself out of a game spanning trophy so looks like I will need to restart. Efficient I am..

this will help immensely as tragedy struck yesterday and I accidentally saved over the last girls save slot so I'll need to start a fresh run....

I was at work at the time so I had to keep the swearing to a minimum but I assure you my soul turned to dust when I realised what I had done.

Just two more left I want to get done by the end of the month. Requiem was pretty good. I didn't like it as much as the first game; the emotional sections just lacked the punch that Innocence had (that doesn't mean I didn't cry). I still loved it though and replaying the first half of the game really hurt knowing where the story was going at the end. Probably going to alternate working through Chorus and Borderlands as neither of them are compelling me to play right now.

So I finally got some work done on the last game in this list, putting in six hours in Dark Cloud 2. I managed to clear Chapters 5 and 6 and have reached the climatic battle in Chapter 7... which I won't do as I still have to get every medal in Moonflower Palace. In case you didn't know, Moonflower Palace vanishes after you beat the boss so you have to earn all the medals in this dungeon before you complete it so they still count towards Medalhead. This is why this platinum is STILL ultra rare.

 

Needless to say, I have six Spheda challenges I have to REDO(because RNG hates me and made me end up with the ball being the same color as the hole so I couldn't bump it to reverse its color) and I have to get my weapons and monster transformation strong enough to destroy the very spongy enemies here which can one-shot Max or Monica if I am not careful and I have to hoard Final Bombs because OMG the "Kill all enemies with items only" challenges can go die in a fire, especially with these enemies being so tanky and not dying to one Final Bomb... and I can only carry ten at a time. ?

 

I am going to take another break but I will get to work on the challenges. I am not even touching Finny Frenzy(the fish races) until I get those stupid fishing challenges out of the way and that means no Baron Garayan as I need to beat the beginner class to get the elf girl to join so she can sell me the fork lure I need to catch that fish.

I added another game I've been working on this week Evil Genius 2 which is in dire need of guide, I am even considering doing one, I've been taking notes and I am checking how the whole guide system works, I am almost done with Mass Effect and I am saving a couple trophies to maybe get the platinum to be a milestone, I advanced a bit on Yakuza 3 and Like a Dragon in which I alternate when I get tired of the completion list on 3.

First update of the event! Played a bit of Red Matter in VR before succumbing to motion sickness, and platinumed Chicory. Chicory was a fun little game and definitely one of the better PS+ Extra offerings; a bit too mellow at times but overall it was a charming little indie game that managed to accomplish the feeling of being like a coloring book game. The boss fights were pretty great too, even though you can't die during them. Might start Toem next, or continue playing Manifold Garden.

Just got the trophies for 100% of all Georama, which shows that I have cleared every level in Moonflower Palace, and the trophy for breeding fish as I had to start the fish challenges in the Chapter 2-4 dungeons to get a strong fish to win the Beginner Class Finny Frenzy so I can recruit elf girl and buy the fork lure to get that Baron Garayan for the rare fish trophy. I actually think I will just catch a ton of Umuwuraka(those fish that have horse heads) and breed them together since they look like they have decent enough stats to get a Beginner Finny Frenzy champion. After I get elf girl and the Baron, I will breed it in and just spend time dumping bait into the tank to get that abomination strong enough to win every Finny Frenzy.

 

Now I have to grind out the Gemron transformation to Level 51 so I can clear all of the dang Monster Transformation challenges. I don't think I'll be able to platinum this game before Christmas as I have to focus on clearing every challenge in Moonflower Palace so I can get to Chapter 8.

Don't idolize me. It's not that impressive. Once you get the Ridepod equipped with the Master Core and some good stuff, you will basically breeze through every level of the game. I just crafted and equipped Samurai Arm III and Nova Cannon IV and they are basically one-shotting or two-shotting enemies in Moonflower Palace which took six hits with the Samurai Arm II. Add in Jet Hover making Ridepod go super fast and you basically sweep every level. It's the challenges that are the most annoying. I completed all of the Time Challenges(because Jet Hover is the fastest mode of transport in dungeon levels) and all the Ridepod-only challenges, but now the hard work begins: I have to clear levels with specific weapons and do a bunch of golf challenges that are very frustrating. I actually flubbed six Spheda challenges in the Moonflower Palace(which is the easiest place to win Spheda as there are very few chances to get off course and lose shots) because the ball was the same color as the hole and I couldn't bump it to change color with that last shot.

 

I think the slowest part are the first two chapters as Steve the Ridepod doesn't go very fast and can't two-shot enemies until you get better stuff. You can trade in Ridepod EXP for a Barrel Cannon I in Chapter 2 but until you get Roller Feet and Samurai Arm I, Balance Valley is a slog. After that, things go much faster.
