Yeah - those transparent backgrounds have caught out a few folks - all the old God of War games have those too!

It's a pain, but at least Grey is a fairly common colour (plus, silver gets counted as "grey" for this event, since there's no "silver" category - so hopefully you can find one to suit!

@Squirlruler Thanks both. I'm going to leave it for now as I'm working on God of War (PS3) at the minute, which I think I can use for red, and then there's many options in the backlog for black. Will wait and see if I need it for now, but thanks again!

Second color done with Catmaze for orange! A solid little metroidvania based on Slavic myths, and one of a select few Ratalaika games that don't have >90% average completion. Some of the boss fights took me a good few attempts, especially with healing items being strictly finite, but nothing was too difficult or unfair. My only real complaint would be the character portraits during dialogue, which both are hideous and clash terribly with the rest of the game's otherwise competent art, but that's a pretty minor criticism all things considered.

 

I haven't decided what I'll tackle next, but I've noticed that I don't have much of anything in my backlog for tan (even after pilfering the holiday sale). The only decent fit I could find in the PS+ collection is Wild Arms 3, but that seems like a pretty big time investment for a game I'm not particularly interested in. If anyone has other tan suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

I'm doing Ni No Kuni Wrath of the White Witch remastered for my tan game. But that's also a chonky RPG. If you're looking for something a bit shorter then possibly Concrete Genie (I'm looking at that for my brown game, but I think it could also work for tan) ?

I played this over Christmas, and really, really dug it a lot.

 

 

If you liked Portal-style 3d puzzles, this is a very good one of those, which would work well for Tan!

I'll be picking up Ni no Kuni now while it's on sale; it wasn't on my radar since I remembered the icon being white, but I didn't realize that the remaster uses a different image entirely. The Entropy Centre has gone straight to my PlatPrices wishlist, to be purchased the instant I get that juicy discount notice in my email (along with I Was a Teenage Exocolonist, thanks to @breakingthegreen)!

Ah, my next entry is South Park: The Stick of Truth (PS3).  One of the most painful games I've played in a long time.  Only took 3 years, 2 months to finish this hottie.

Okay, here's a tough one: Vita only games (i.e. no shared lists with other platforms) that are "western style", because I'm not into Anime and the like, that are fun to play (i.e. no cash grabs or games that can be finished in minutes) and are still fully obtainable, bonus points for "with platinum". No payment though, just an opportunity to raise your reputation as a game recommender. ?

Papers Please is fantastic, no Platinum though

Neither for Lumines Electronic Symphony, but it's brilliant (Listen to Kaskade 4am what a song)

Rayman Legends is actually the Wii U version of the game, so it's worth playing and is technically unique

Tearaway on Vita is a very good game (and much better than the overbloated PS4 version)

Uncharded Golden Abyss is the obvious answer, a portable Uncharted game that manages to be better than the first game.

Apologies for jumping in, I know this wasn't aimed at me. I don't have a huge Vita library but a few things spring to mind:

 

- Anything by Drinkbox Studios. Guacamelee is a shared list with PS3, but I would highly recommend it. Also, Severed is a great game. Tales from Space was also a lot of fun, but no plat for that one.

 

- Gravity Rush. It's made by Japan Studios, but I wouldn't necessarily class it as an anime game. Definitely worth looking into, it uses the features of the Vita well.

 

- Uncharted Golden Abyss. 

 

- Quite a few Ratchet and Clank games

 

- Oceanhorn. Zelda Windwaker like clone which is supposed to be pretty good

 

My go to suggestion would normally be Persona 4 Golden, but that one doesn't fit your brief. Hopefully some of the others help ?

I have my first two entries! Assassin's Creed Valhalla for Brown & Chicken Police for Grey! Chicken Police was such an enjoyable experience and if you have one of the fancier tiers of Playstation Plus I totally recommend it - especially if you love point and clicks, visual novels, Detective Noir ascetic, or just straight up wanna see a chicken be a washed up detective on the brink of retirement. And Valhalla was... Assassin's Creed: you play one, you've played 'em all. Will it stop me from buying every game every time? No, no it won't.

Adding a new game, with Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden!

 

 

 

Could have worked for Dark Blue, but I think on balance Brown is more fitting, given the prominence of the cards in the image!

 

 

A good, stylish little game -  the second one in the Yoko Taro penned franchise of jpgs, told as table-top game campaigns, complete with dungeon master input (and commentary), dice-rolling, and a world crafted entirely from cards.

 

This one is significantly longer than the first entry (Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars), and while still relatively breezy, does have some difficulty spikes that push the challenge a fair bit higher than that one!

 

The writing is good - quite self-serious, but with a wink, via the commentary and tone of the narrator/ DM, and the music, visuals and style are all very good. The format established in the first game is toyed with a little more here, and while the game is relatively straight-forward as JRPGs go, there's easily enough originality in the Voice of Cards format to stand out in a crowded marketplace!

Yes, this one is already in my backlog. In fact, I only bought the Vita because of this game. I remembered I got it from PS+ the other day and wanted to play "the last Uncharted game I haven't experienced" and ordered a pre-owned Vita a few years ago. But for some reason only played it for a few hours. This will definitely be part of my chart.

Thanks for the suggestions. Had a look at some gameplay on Youtube and both look interesting. Especially Lumines with the music, looks - or better: sounds - like fun! (If you like games with music and want to go the extra mile and sync it to the gameplay you should have a look at Road to Ballhalla, not a Vita game though. But I had a ton of fun playing it!)
