Popular Post The_Kopite
Sonic Frontiers (PS5) is my latest as of the time of this post and my 350th too! Definitely a good game overall. I think that when it was hitting it's high points with the story and the flow of gameplay on certain islands, it was at an 8 out of 10 but in other parts especially on islands like Ares and more so Chaos (Didn't flow too well with this island and it's layout personally) then it was at a 6 out of 10 so for me personally, I'd give it a 7 out of 10 which was all I was looking for from this 'new' style of Sonic game. Certainly with a few tweaks, the basis of a good gameplay structure is there and I think a future game in this style could easily get an 8 if done correctly. Enjoyed the music too, even though it was very much the opposite of music you would typically associate with Sonic games. Definitely worth a play, more so if you like the blue hedgehog!
Popular Post Sanya_de
#19 - Ghost of Tsushima (PS4) I am quite late to the Ghost of Tsushima party I guess - but it was a really enjoyable ride. Maybe slightly too many side quests, some of them felt repetitive, but overall it was a master piece. I would definetly recommend the game to anyone! Popular Post Starrk_01
Plat #221: Tesla VS Lovecraft (PS4) A top down shooter where you just play levels to kill all creatures that spawn. You will have to play through the game three times in order to platinum it which does get repetitive after a while, especially in your third playthrough where it feels like it is more lucky based (some items/level up abilities combinations make the level attempt impossible). Popular Post Viper
#304 G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout Complete Blackout Ahhh when you play a game that had every right to be so much better than it was. If you grew up watching the old G.I. Joe cartoon or read the comics, this game would feel like a wet dream for fans....and then you play it. Mediocre is really the best way to describe this...there's fun to be had, but it's such muted experience that you're just kind of left disappointed. The basic premise of the game is that you're playing these missions and you get to choose from one of two characters, while the one you don't choose ends up being your AI partner (though the game supports local Co-Op). And you're basically just running around detailed, but linear maps shooting endless hordes of enemies, most missions have 1 side mission you need to do and there's a minor amount of exploration involved as most levels have 3-5 collectables to pick up. And it's pretty much this over and over again while the story unfolds...which is your typical kid friendly story of Cobra Commander trying to take over the world...and by kid friendly I mean that the enemies you face are mostly robots, and when you do face one of the main characters, you don't kill them...they just take a knee then conveniently run off. The cutscenes are presented in a comic style, and they're mostly just static images with voice over work. You do get to play both sides of the conflict though...so you tend to switch off playing as a Joe and as a Cobra. The issue here though, is while there's 12 characters to play as, 6 from each side...they're just pallet swaps of one another. Like Duke and Baroness both have an Assault Rifle as their primary weapon, and their Special Attacks are throwing a Grenade that continuously explodes. Destro and Roadblock both have a gun that shoots electricity and both have this special attack that powers them up for like 2 seconds (I think, I never really saw this do anything). But the gameplay is where it really falls short. For starters, this is one of those games where the AI is CONSTANTLY moving, strafing left or right, jumping and moving out of the way, so Auto Aim is a must...but I can't stress to you enough that this has to be one of the WORST aiming mechanics I've ever played with! You see you're going to get to a point where you try and make use of the Auto Aim by constantly pressing L2 over and over so it snaps to the nearest enemy. But a lot of the times, the crosshairs auto aim at the FURTHEST target away instead of the closest, and even then the cross hairs aims NEXT to the target instead of right on them, meaning you're constantly having to adjust. It gets absolutely mind numbing at times, especially on the highest difficulty which you have to beat every level on for the Plat. And then...that wonderful AI partner of yours...will just fucking stand there and not do a damn thing! OH but the second to last mission has this moment where Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes compete to kill the most enemies (and it's for a trophy), oh man the AI sure as hell does it's job then! Easy trophy to get, but you're still only winning by like 3 kills. When it comes to the highest difficulty, the game saves your ass here because once you complete a level once, you unlock the ability to apply modifiers. Without these, things like you having double damage, double health and shield, enemies explode when defeated, Infinite Ammo. The hardest difficulty would be an absolutely nightmare. Even with these you're probably going to die a lot, because most of the missions are you trying to hack something then having to survive endless waves of enemies until the time runs out (usually 2-3 minutes). And your AI partner is barely doing their job and you still take a ton of damage...and that bullshit aiming mechanic comes into play at the worst times here. I died more often than not because the aiming was being so janky. The game also doesn't seem like it knows what it wants to be either. On one hand it seems designed to be a run and gun shooter, but it tries to emphasize cover shooting. But then the cover mechanics are super basic, and you can't even do something simple like switching shoulders to shoot from the left (everyone aims from the right), so you find yourself just saying screw the cover and trying to stay on the move, but then the enemies are always rushing you and juking out of the way. And why the hell is Storm Shadow using guns...yet has the best melee weapons in the game (you have to get so close to use melee that it's never worth it, just Storm Shadow feels prefectly fine)? It's just a mess. The game isn't horrible, there's fun to be had here. But it's such a basic TPS with an identity crisis and unpolished aiming mechanics. You get why it's a game that wasn't hyped up to the world. It's fun to be with these characters again, but this game could have been so much better, a hidden gem even.

Popular Post Trancexistence
#37 - Metropolis: Lux Obscura This is a visual novel with Sin City style characters and visuals mixed with Match 3 gameplay. The gameplay portions were more enjoyable than the story which I felt like I'd seen before. The voice acting was decent though and the artwork was really stylish looking. Popular Post Thrillhelm
90000th trophy Rise Of The Slime (EU PS4) The PS5 version was so much fun that I went for the EU stack. I can recommend this Ratailaka game with a fun trophy list that actually asks to complete the game, a roguelite deck builder game with some depth (skills in Magic The Gathering aren't necessary, but helpful).
ASMODAIOS344
A simple puzzle game with beautiful black&white design similar in style to graphic novels. What i didn't expect was that there is also a narrative, each puzzle section ( typical 2 or 3 parts) tell a small story with some of them interconnect near the end.
Popular Post Hayato_VJ
#156: Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition (NA Version - Physical-) A few years ago I got the platinum for the European version, but in January I got the physical North American version at a very good price (almost free) and I played it again, and now I also have the platinum trophy for the NA version. It's still one of my favorite 'Final Fantasy' games. The soundtrack composed by Yoko Shimomura continues to touch my heart. #157: Ryu Ga Gotoku 7: Hikari To Yami No Yukue [a.k.a. 'Yakuza: Like a Dragon] (Asian Version -Physical-) I also got the Hong Kong version of 'Yakuza: Like a Dragon'. I also have the western version, but I could never get platinum because of the True Final Millennium Tower, no matter how many times I tried. In the Japanese and Chinese versions, the True Millennium Tower and the Premium Adventure are paid DLC, so you don't need to complete that inferno tower to get the platinum trophy. A great turn-based RPG, lots of drama and comedy, with some great characters. Edited February 21, 2023 by Hayato_VJ
Popular Post GarciaFever
#216 Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 If it weren't for the damn 100 million gold trophy, I woiuld have saved maybe 50 hours of mindless grinding. The only good thing that came out of doing this was maxing out all characters to level 999 (due to buying all dlc that came with the level cap raise), and thus becoming almost untouchable. I also didn't realize that I could have saved time by farming money in the colisseum, where one battle gives me just over 2.3 million gil (or whatever the money system is) after clearing it, instead of having to fight the Clione monsters. Now I just have to muster the strength to do the same thing for both Re;Birth2 and Re;Birth 3 (ugh...) P.S. At least it's not as bad as getting the 20 million zeni in Dragon Ball FighterZ Edited February 21, 2023 by GarciaFever
Popular Post SirWaWa
Probably one of the better remaster efforts as of late. The graphics and sound are completely re-done to align with FF7R. While the graphics aren't quite as on par as FF7R, it's really close considering the original was a PSP game. The familiar soundtrack tunes sound and feel like Remake, to preserve the continuity. The game play plays much better than it's original PSP counterpart but still feels unrefined. I do want to point out a few but short cut-scenes were just AI up-scaled from the original. It still looks good, however you can tell it just doesn't have that true HD "pop" to it. As of this time, it has quite a high platinum percentage rate. While not a particularly hard platinum, I did find a few frustrating points but nothing that couldn't be overcome with time and patience. The mission system reminded me of MGS Peace Walker (another PSP game), but it's no where near as difficult. While I generally enjoyed my time with this, the dialogue was the only thing that did not get re-mastered.

Popular Post DrunkenEngineer
Platinum #43 + DLC 100% - The Evil Within (February 19, 2023) Trophy Statistics The Good Survival horror tour-de-force Fantastic use of lighting and shadows to create a supremely creepy atmosphere Agony crossbow, especially the crowd control ammo, is a delight. Follow up with a match and watch them burn! The Bad Noticeable input lag; framerate locked to 30FPS with no PS5 update in sight AKUMU is more about persistence over skill, and seemed rather unnecessary. The Evil Within is a nostalgic love letter to survival horror games of yesteryear. The gameplay is highly inspired by Resident Evil 4, sharing Shinji Mikami's credit. Monster designs are brilliant and heavily influenced by Silent Hill. The story stumbles a bit, but that's honestly never been what's attracted me to survival horror games. The dopey dialog and cheesy characters and melodrama are here in spades. Inventory management, scraping by enemy encounters, knowing when to fight or run - that's well represented. Everyone knows about AKUMU, and it's not quite as bad as I anticipated. Definitely do this trophy last, as the several runs you'll have under your belt beforehand will be the best preparation. It's mostly an exercise of persistence and perseverance over raw skill. Given the age of the game there are many guides on AKUMU so if you do your homework and consult one often, it's very manageable. The DLCs do an admirable job of fleshing out little background bits of the game, and even introduce a interesting playthrough mechanic in KURAYAMI ("Darkness") in the Kidman DLCs, making the only illumination come from your flashlight. It's absolutely harrowing and I loved it! The controls are a bit clunky, and sometimes the presentation isn't exactly the best, but the overall package is strong and great fun for survival horror veterans. For fans of Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Dead Space it's an easy recommendation.

More playable characters, lots more unique and interesting locations to explore, a much more satisfying combat and progression system, and just in general improving upon the formula to make it a more fleshed out experience ^^
Popular Post Neo_Zord
After finishing that unnecessarily long open world game Watch Dogs I took a little break to play some simpler and shorter ones like VNs until I got to this bad boy #75 Hogwarts Legacy (PS5) - Trophy Triumph This is simply amazing, 50 hours flew by and I didn't notice. Yes, there are a lot of things to collect, mostly field guide pages but as far as I know, not everying is needed for the platinum so there's that. The story is not perfect, seems a little detached to the open world because of the linearity but works. Also I think the side stories captivated more, specially in the case of Seb's but Poppy is my favorite character among them by a long shot. I've been dreaming for some game like this ever since I fell in love with The Half-Blood Prince back in the PS2 days, bad movie game but can you blame a kid? #76 and #77 Life is Strange (PS4) - What If? /Life is Strange: Before the Storm (PS4) - Bring on the Storm This is now my third time playing these games that I absolutely adore them with all my heart. It's a testament of how deeply they touch me after all these years (8 for the original and 6 for Before the Storm). Might as well play 2 and True Colors next, never played those.

Popular Post kkulifay
We Are RTB (Platinum PS5) Platinum #50! I purposively picked this title for my #50 simply because it is my favorite multiplayer game of all time. I have put so many hours into Warzone 2.0 and DMZ because it is so exhilarating and addicting. I’m already a rank 140 and probably will hit 250 at some point this year because I don’t see an end point soon. I really enjoyed the campaign, especially on Veteran during my first and only play thru. It was definitely more difficult than than MW (2019) but the generous amounts of checkpoints made it manageable. The Spec-Ops missions were my favorite trophies to get! They were challenging, memorable, and involved effective communication. I actually wish there were a few more spec-op mission trophies tbh. I had the same boosting partner who helped me with the Spec Ops trophies in MW (2019) so it helps having a strong teammate that works in sync. This #50 plat is the ideal way to pay my trophy respects to the COD series that I’ve been a loyal fan of ever since my college days! Next in the line-up? Infamous Second Son (essential plat) Resident Evil 2 (PS5 upgrade) Dark Souls III (first FromSoftware game) Gran Turismo 7 (my portfolio needs a racing game)
