Popular Post Trancexistence
#35 - Sagebrush Was really impressed with this lo-fi style walking simulator game set on the abandoned compound of a religious cult. The premise of the game grabbed me right away before even playing it as I enjoy narrative driven titles like this where I can explore my surroundings and piece together the story. It was a bit on the short side though and I actually wouldnt have minded if it were a bit longer. Next up for me is Virginia and I'm also having fun chipping away at Dirt 5 playing a few events a day. Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Total Game Time: 1 hour 30 minutes

Popular Post RedRodriguez87
#441:One Sponge to Rule Them Al Another dose of sponginess to add to my Platinum list! Now, I initially said in my status update that I would have appreciated this a lot more in the 2000s when Battle for Bikini Bottom was a released, and while I still kind of sort of feel that way, I ended up liking this game a lot more by the end. Like most every single other SpongeBob game, this one has plenty of Sunny bright beaches which gave me a sense of deja vu that I was seeing the same thing over again. But then I got to Halloween Rock Bottom, and suddenly the game really opened up to me. From there on we got more clever costumes, more unique objectives, some neat boss fights and PLENTY of fanservice, even for someone like me who hasn't tuned in regularly since season 4. There are some minor things I still didn't care for though. First off would be the load screen, which falls in the very frustrating camp of not being constant enough to be an actual flaw, but enough that I get annoyed whenever it does; I don't know how it runs on the PS5, But whenever there is a Loading screen involved in this game, it is unbearably long. The second thing would be the exploration of the levels or rather the lack thereof. I've never been a fan of when games lock 75% of their secrets behind a late game wall, and I hat it even more so when they start that trend immediately from the first level. It's just such a wasted opportunity to want to explore these open worlds only to not be able to because you're going to be blocked off from something because you don't have access to a move you won't get until a majority of the game is complete. Lastly would be the combat. SpongeBob gets a lot of different new moves that assistant platforming and combat, however not enough to justify their being designated "cannot progress" combat moments. The enemies are not hard at all, but they are incredibly repetitive. Still, these three points are very minor in the grand scheme of things. I really ended up liking this game in the end and wouldn't be opposed to seeing a trend of more SpongeBob games coming out. In the meantime, here's one of my favorite scenes ever.

Popular Post PooPooBlast
#184 Stray (PS5) What a beautiful game! It hits different when you're playing as a cute, tiny and nimble kitty all while exploring a dystopian city. The story had me hooked as well what with the robot companions in the future populating the streets, without a trace of a human being. So naturally, you begin to ask why! There was also something about the "beep-boop" sounds the robots made with different tones and inflections which helped create "unique characters," so to speak . Really loved this game and I'd probably buy a sequel in a heartbeat. Trophy-wise, I didn't have any issues and in my personal opinion, and the speedrun trophy and the "can't catch me" trophy were blown out of proportion. The latter did take me several tries (approx 10-15 retries in a span of ~20 mins) but that's to be expected... Anyway, that was just my experience. Onto the next!
Popular Post GodKaio-Ken
Game: Ginga Force Trophy Name: Ginga Force PSNP Rarity: 9.7% Thoughts: Fun game, I could have had it done in 2-3 days but had about an 80 hour work week and was just playing a few hours daily where I could. God mode upgrade makes hard mode pretty easy as you only have to beat the last boss without it to pop the hard difficulty trophy. Also scoring 500,000,000 in story mode was a 2-3 hour grind, I made a drinking game of it to pass the time lol
Popular Post The Alchemist
#650 The Last of Us Part I It can't be for nothing (47.22%) I really enjoyed my time revisiting The Last of Us. It had actually been a couple of years since I last did a playthrough of the game, so even though I know the game incredibly well it was still nice to get a refresher. There were a few minor things I had forgotten about since I last played, so it's nice to be up to date so to speak especially as I watch the HBO show week to week. The first thing that I noticed upon starting was the massive increase in graphic fidelity from the previous version. You'd obviously expect the game running on the latest hardware to be improved, but I wasn't expecting such a big improvement. Rather than a simple remaster of a remaster treatment, it now truly looks and feels like a brand new, native PS5 game, which of course it is but I know some people were doubting the extent of the changes made prior to release. The textures, the lighting, the character animations, it's all incredibly well done and visually I was blown away by it. Yes, the game has aged really well anyway and the PS4 remaster still looks great, but I still appreciate the further enhancements found in this version. In addition you also have instant loading times, some extra content, a suite of accessibility options and some improved gameplay mechanics like better enemy AI, which is something in particular I feel like they really improved upon. This is absolutely a remake, not just a simple remaster or a slightly prettier version of what came before. In terms of trophies we get a new list with some new additions and some original trophies missing, notably the multiplayer trophies for obvious reasons. You can make the platinum as easy or as difficult as you like thanks to the range of difficulty settings and accessibility options at your disposal. No more mandatory survivor playthrough required for the platinum. After already earning the platinum and 100% in the PS4 remaster, I chose to take it easy this time around. I didn't use the accessibility options, but I did my playthrough on moderate. The Left Behind DLC trophies are integrated into the main list so you must also complete that to earn the platinum. Overall I rate the platinum a 3/10 and 20 hours long, but both of these figures can be more or less depending on your preferred settings. To conclude, I loved Part I. Although it's missing the original multiplayer, which makes sense given the upcoming multiplayer project from Naughty Dog, and although the changes may not be far-reaching enough for some people to justify the cost, I loved every minute of my time with the game. The changes are significant enough for me to appreciate the effort behind it and in my opinion, this is the definitive way to experience The Last of Us.
Popular Post Biertje373
Platinum #69 The Last of Us Part I It can't be for nothing Fun: 9/10 Difficulty 2/10 Time: 15:35:10 (thank you ingame timers) I've played the PS4 version years ago, but at that time I wasn't into it, so I kinda ignored the series as a whole, but last year during Black Friday I've decided that I wanted to give it a second chance, and while I took it really slow I am done and I can say that I am a fan. For some reason I've been very slow with posting this, not sure why. And here are the positives: + The story is just fantastic. + I love that morality has changed, you can see it in character's actions and in the world. + The music is pretty damn good. + I am glad that there's a PS+ collectible guide, that way I didn't have to use YouTube. + I didn't have many expectations but I really loved Left Behind. + The combat wasn't spectacular but it was pretty fun. + The graphics are beautiful, it's that I always wanted to continue to the next point in the game, else I would've taken many screenshots. Honestly can't think of any cons, nothing is perfect of course but I don't have points that made me think "Well, that's less fun" And here is my platinum screenshot.
Popular Post insaneeeRob
Kingpin Saints Row IV: Re-elected Such a fun game tbh. The powers and the story were so fun from start to end. The only grind was all the challenges, kills and those 40 HOURS... My poor ps5 was on from the morning until 2 am. The new saints row is next (sometime this year i guess)

Popular Post Ala-Arska
Aegis of Earth: Protonovus Assault (PS Vita) Aegis of Earth: Protonovus Assault Earned every trophy A Real Time Strategy fable. Without the strategy. Aegis of Earth: Protonovus Assault (what a mouthful) is a top down city defense game against generic looking monsters. With repetitive dialogue inbetween. Build your defenses, better your weapons, make housing for coming people. "Play" a 5 minute battle. Do that for 30-40 hours. Super fun times. This is nothing more than a very long, very boring festival of grind Once you've collected enough materials to get the best weapons systems for each city, you can just let the battles play themselves. I watched A LOT of movies during those 300-ish battles. And heard every voice acted line hundreds of times This is one of those games that take away your sanity and run with it. At least I got to suffer it from a Vita screen. That way my TV was free for trashy 80's horror films. This is exactly what doing nothing feels like. Well, not exactly. I would rather do nothing. If you absolutely must know what ultimate boredom feels like, pick up a copy of AoE: PA and maximize that misery "Don't you remember? We built this city. We built this city on rock and roll."

Popular Post Redgrave
#272: N7 Elite - Mass Effect 2 Legendary Edition My epic space adventures continue in the Legendary Edition of my first Mass Effect game that I played on PS3. Playing ME2 again was nice since I feel like in some ways it aged fine while in others probably not so much but I still enjoyed playing it. I mentioned it in my ME1 Plat post but I think the first problem comes from the gameplay where they made the weapons from something unique to making it into an ammo counter so that way it would be similar to other third-person shooters from around the time. I guess it's not technically ammo in the sense of bullets but that basically is what it is and the story reasons for it don't make much sense. Like I guess in the span of two years the bajillions of people around the galaxy all unanimously decided to change their guns to use the thermal clips and not stick with the ammo block method ? I guess gameplay-wise it makes some sense for the cover mechanics and stuff for balancing reasons which I'll say do feel better than the first game but still, I liked the way the weapons were done in the first game more along with the customization of ammo types and the attachments put on them. The only other issue I have is how it doesn't completely feel like a continuation of the first game's story. They do at least kind of go into this by having it where the Council just decides to handwave Sovereign as a Geth construct and the Reapers as a myth which feels like a cop-out but I guess in some way it is kind of believable but it's also pushed a bit further by having the Prothean Vigil VI "suddenly not work" when they try to talk to it when all they probably had to do was plug it in to a wall and charge it back up. I also say it's kind of believable because the Council are stuck-up jackasses and thinking back on it I kind of wish I didn't save them but I know the alternative isn't really different and neither much better from a roleplaying standpoint. Initially I did start to think the stuff with the Collectors and the colony harvesting didn't have much point even when it's shown why they are but upon replaying ME2 I actually think it's a case of there was going to be more done with it and there were other implications hinted for it possibly to be included in ME3 but then ME3 also didn't really continue on that. I know it's a game that's a decade old but I'll just leave a spoiler anyway. Spoiler When you find out that the Collectors are the Protheans you basically find out that the Protheans were turned against each other and I'm pretty sure Vigil in ME1 mentions this as well. You're also told that humans are being harvested for their genetic diversity and whatever else. I feel like this does make sense to do since the Reapers do harvest races and it is made a point that humans stand out from the other races. But one thing in particular stood out to me was on Omega there's a Batarian NPC labeled a Mad Prophet that says something about how humans were agents of the Reapers. I actually feel like in some way this was intended to be hinting that humanity was going to be the main race that the Reapers use to turn against everyone else much like the Protheans. But because of Mass Effect 3 going the way it did, the whole idea was eventually dropped along with that thing about stars dying because of dark matter that Tali was investigating. So in the end, I feel like a lot of things in both ME1 and 2 were just dropped or changed for the things they did in ME3. Beyond that I still think I like the game despite the flaws. I like the different worlds to explore and how planets like Illium have that kind of Blade Runner tone to it. The one thing I wish was done differently was the anomalies on the other worlds. They are all linear with not much to explore but at the very least they do have different quests and some of them were pretty cool like the one where you find a mining colony full of Husks. There also aren't very many of them despite there being a ton of planets to look at but I guess that was the trade-off for the mining mini-game which is pretty mind-numbing to say the least. I think the squadmates and their loyalty quests balance it out though, since I think ME2's strongest point is the squadmates and their backstories but I like the idea of assembling a team for a suicide mission and so you get people with a wide range of backgrounds. Thane is probably my favorite one for being the atoning assassin. If anyone deserved a prequel game/comic/animated movie it should have been Thane ? I would go more into the Illusive Man but I think I'll save that for ME3. The trophies like the first game on the Legendary Edition are changed to where you don't have to do Insanity for the Platinum and the specific kill grinds can be farmed pretty easily. I found it kind of odd that there wasn't a trophy for the Arrival DLC but I did it anyway for the choices in ME3.
