Falken-N7 Posted June 10, 2018 Share Posted June 10, 2018 Far Cry 5 - Hours of Darkness Roguelike DLC Vietnam: Complete the game in Survivor Mode (Host only). Rushed through the game for it, but this is done as well. Also took some heavy casualties, only me and Moses survived the final battle. What can I say about the Vietnam DLC...it's not bad. The atmosphere is very well done, the Vietnam hills and their lush nature filled with Vietcong coming out of nowhere, and all of a sudden the barren created by napalm bombing, and the leftover clouds of gas that make you cough whenever you go in. Doing the full story properly, which means aiming for 100%, takes roughly 6 hours, which is fine for a DLC such as this, I guess...what I don't really enjoy is having to do three playthroughs for the trophies, but I've been though worse. Next up: the action hero mode playthrough, where I will try to aim for the 100% and saving my entire team (normal playthrough ended on 99%, since I missed a lighter, and Joker died). 4 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The pacing is HORRIBLE. 25 hours in, mission #80-something, and you're still stuck with low rank weapons and AGAs because you spent 30 of those missions in chapter 4. Any decent bullet costs an obscene amount of Oracle (and I'm not even talking about Meteor type bullets), which I wouldn't even mind if melee damage didn't STILL suck. They ditched the predator styles too, so there's no mobility unless your god arc comes with it. The whole Aragami-jumping-the-windows-to-the-other-side-of-the-map shtick was dumb and pointless in GER, but at least the devours got you there quicker. Now you get to take a nice long walk around the whole snowy mountain village map in case you didn't get a good look at it when you were there a hundred times in GER. Even picking up materials from corpses is a hassle because there's no quick devour. In battle it's better to rely on the AI to keep up your burst time because the animation is so long and it's interrupted by the slightest breeze even after you land the hit. And the online is still bad. tl;dr the fights are slow and the story is boring Yeah, those ~30 missions between difficulty 4 and 6 were boring with hardly any story. Didn't have a problem with bullet costs, as I used Quick Meteor (that costs 95 oracle without Frugal and Trigger Happy) and Blast Gun can store up to 900 oracle in the reserve. Predator Styles were actually added in Resurrection, which is a remake of GE Burst that was released after GE2RB. But yeah, I missed those too. Quickest devour now is to use devour after an attack, but it's still slow. If you want mobility, use the spear, it has a dash ability that can be charged while running.
