My 1523rd Trophy of the year, and the final non-Plat at that - I'm done for 2021. I'd like to thank everyone for their posts this year, I enjoyed reading along with your adventures across so many games and look forward to doing it all again next year.

 

 

Capping off my Platinum journey for Madden NFL 18, Situational Awareness is dead easy. Wait until the fourth quarter of a game, select any of the coaching adjustments, and apply it. Ding, Silver Trophy for no effort at all. That typifies a few Trophies on this game's list, and the fact that it's considered Rare on PSNP is testament to the demographics; a lot of normies play Madden versus comparatively few Trophy Hunters.

 

I will be looking forward to playing Maddens 19, 20, 21, and 22 in 2022 thanks to their relatively stress-free lists. Sure, these games are very poor simulations of the sport and miss quite a few features you can find in NFL 2K5 (which is over 15 years old by now), but for shallow, brainless fun, Madden is a good enough time. Just be sure to buy the games used so as to keep your money out of EA's pockets!

Only trouble I had was finding a perfect bat for one of the hunting requests. Spawns are great, just the animal qualities can be a pain.

Finally!My most despised trophy in Dying Light. I did this without any tricks, just the ol’ fashioned get super anxiously excited when I see a flashing blue beacon to only discover it’s a worthless encounter with something else madness (those who have done this know exactly what I’m talking about). You have to save 15 hostages from Rais’ men and they randomly spawn throughout the game. 
 

One could run around aimlessly while dodging zombies for hours without coming across these rare events. And when you do, you better be quick to slaughter or you or your hostage will not survive. It’s disheartening looking all over the map to finally come across this opportunity, to only f up because you’re coming in kamikaze style and blow your chance. That happened to me at least 4 times.  This trophy has been my obsession and I’m now so relieved to have this off the list. 
 

Only one more trophy to get my platinum. I need to find all the text collectibles. I’m so close! What a journey this game has been and what a masterpiece too. Strongly recommend!

After a long journey, Dr. M is defeated, the game is 100% complete and I've got the platinums in both versions. While some might say the prequel did a better job, I'm one of those who actually enjoyed this. Some of the Master Thief Challenges were tough, but not unfair. Overall, I had a lot of fun with this one.

 

With the trilogy now done, I only have one more game to go. Before I get to that, however, I'll get the mini-games done.

All the base game collectible and secret trophies except for "My private stash" are out of the way. I tried to get the special Persistence from the First Warden, but took a hit while going for "Do unto others...". So I'll get that special weapon on NG++, just using ranged attacks (Ram skill and Fire gauntlet) against him. As for the Commander's special shield, don't block- which is easier on a NG+ since you should have a lot of health potions. If you chose Brawling magic on the NG, Quake him whenever possible to take a large bite of his lifebar.

 

As for "Psychological warfare", you can still get it if you've already killed the Keeper and missed out on "Playing with fire" for that run.

This was an incredible game, there were moments where I truly hated this game especially going for the plat haha but I truly enjoyed most of what this game has to offer. So, how was it getting the plat? Well, I never played this game before and after beating the game I had a hard time, I didn't know what to do next and how so I had to do my homework, lots and lots of research but in the end it pay off. But the grind... man the grind was real, one of the grindiest games I've done, most part of the post-game went awesome, I got stuck 2 times but here I am. It took me +130 hours to complete FFX and I'm very proud and happy of having this platinum!

Defeat any Boss without taking damage (2.5% ultra-rare/7.84% very rare)

 

Got the Champion during my NG+ run using Level 3 Ram. Just not on my first attempt... if the boss lands a hit on you, let him finish you off so you go back to the checkpoint and retry. Going for AAO against Champion? Use light armor. I had more success avoiding his tackle with that. I don't recommend Quake when trying for this trophy. You may give more damage, but you have to start it from a closer range- meaning more risk.
