Popular Post Jaguargenie
Game 2 update I'm going to do a pseudo review here as I just finished it and all that is left is some speed runs for trophies. I will say that I'm super annoyed because I played without a guide and now I have to do an additional 3 playthroughs because of the choices I made. Argh! So I played this game relatively blind with the exception of the trophy descriptions. It didn't spoil much of anything for me story wise. I did make a choice at the end that I thought was the "good" choice and yeah, not so much. According to the guide though, it's a 3 playthrough plat at minimum anyways. As I said before, this is a 2.5D "choose your own adventure" game where your dialogue choices affect the outcome. The art style feels handrawn water color esque. I liked it a lot. The island that the story takes place on is big and relatively diverse. This is a bit of a pain when there is no fast travel, but that might change when im speed running and not hunting for collectibles. Many of the dialogue choices have obvious "good" or "bad" outcomes. It's similar to the Mass Effect response system of nice/neutral/total dick. Ironically though, there are choices along the way that seem pretty innocuous that actually make the most difference. This is why two of my outcomes didn't play out as I expected. The whole game is basically one long running conversation. It is voiced very well. I liked the characters that I was supposed to like and I really hated the characters I was supposed to hate. There's very little music to speak of and the majority of the soundtrack is piped through a radio that you carry around. The radios is a really important mechanic in the game. By tuning the radio you pick up various frequencies of either story snippets or very important plot points that you have to act through. At later points in the game the radio is even used as a sort of key. It's a very interesting mechanic and I've never really seen anything like it. It works really well in the context of the plot and the type of game. I left a plot for last simply because this one is very important. The whole game rests on this plot and it actually has a good payoff. I really enjoyed it and I don't wanna spoil anything for you. It has some worth to playing through twice though the 3 or 4 play throughs I'm probably going to need is a little bit annoying. It was a really enjoyable play through, not too long if you're not running around looking for collectibles and really totally worth it. I highly recommend. Trophies earned: 9/14 for 69% and A ranking Completion %: 74.40 (-.21%) Likelihood to platinum: 10/10 It's just going to take time and the patience for multiple runthroughs. Personal rating: A (I've had two excellent games thus far, which is an improvement over previous events) P.S. I finished early so I have time before the next selection. I'm thinking Shadow Complex or Dying Light. I'm saving Hellblade til last. Edited March 9, 2018 by Jaguargenie
Popular Post ladynadiad
Progress so far: Chapter 3, just shy of 5 hours Trophies earned: 2 out of 45 (E rank) So I did finally get far enough to earn two trophies and drop my completion. And I probably won't earn any more before I'm done with it for the event. So a few fun facts, apparently only 65% of the owners of this game on this site have even a single trophy. It looks like only 20% or so made it to getting 3 trophies and a D rank. The game has no story related trophies except ending ones, so it's no surprise the rarities are so low. Like I said last time, won't be shocked if one of the mob earns 0 trophies. The game is pretty fun and the story has picked up a bit. I have 8 party members now, seems there will be 12 in total. The gameplay can get a bit repetitive with a lot of fighting the same monsters over and over again, but with a lot of different characters and fighting styles you can mix things up a bit. The game pretty much encourages you to do so because the best way to gain affection with other characters is by doing trials and fighting monsters together. Trials are basically a part of optional quests where you get an item and an affection boost for beating a particular monster. The optional quests are mostly your way to go explore the dungeons further to eventually get 100% completion in them all since you can only visit an area for a quest. One of my major complaints so far is why is there no way to buy recovery items? That may open up later, but right now I'm pretty lacking and stuck on a rather hard boss right now because I have nothing else to heal and no one has healing skills and this boss uses a lot of magic attacks that guard is ineffective on. The only way to get gear and items is via drops from monsters, which aren't really incredibly common, so it's pretty much grinding so I can get more now. But overall I'm enjoying the game and will keep on chipping away at it until its time to play Zero no Kiseki. Games played: 89 Games completed: 75 Completion: 87.92% (-0.95%) Unearned Trophies: 306 Trophies for this event: 38/270 Edited March 11, 2018 by ladynadiad
Oobedoob S Benubi
5 hours ago, Jaco said: @Cool Rick @Hemiak I figured Titan Souls was harder just from the difficulty ratings, and the one hit death crap. I was just saying trophy rarity doesn't always tell you how hard a game will be. I used the Transformers example because to me it wasn't that bad. Some may feel differently, but the way I went about it made it fairly easy to complete. While Titan Souls will see me rack up over 1,000 deaths, by the time I'm done (and that's not an exaggeration).. But it's good to know Bloodborne is more... "fair," I guess? And that I can call for help, if I'm really struggling. Lol. I thought the final boss in Devastation was hard, and I played on easy. I had to figure out how to use the upgrade/potions/wjatever menu for that fight, didn't need it at any time before then. 3 hours ago, Jaguargenie said: Game 2 update Good to hear you enjoyed it, and glad you didn't use a guide. I thought it was an awesome game and I'd recommend it to anyone putting story over gameplay. Enjoy Hellblade when you start it, I loved that game too. I didn't play any more Mighty No. 9. I can pretend I didn't get any gaming time but people can easily see I obtained a few Elite: Dangerous trophies. Yeah, I love that game, but I'll make time for MN9 today or tomorrow.
Popular Post Metal Slime King
I got into some Brawlhalla and I'll do some more tomorrow. I'll have spend enough time with it I feel to write a review. Quickly it's a F2P 2D arena fighting game that's grouped in with Smash Bros clones. I've never played anything in this small sub-genre of fighting games so I can't really compare it to other like titles. I have a tendency to pick available games out of my immediate familiarity zone for these events. In a way it gives me a fresh perspective on a game but in another way it's a disadvantage because there could be another similar game available on Sony that's far better but I wouldn't know. I can't compare this game to Playstation All-Stars for example, I can just comment on how I found this particular game. I can say the Netplay works really well. I don't have the best internet but I haven't had any issues connecting to or staying in a game. I even tried changing my default connection location to more remote servers and never suffered any notable amount of lag. My service could've just been having a couple of good days though. Maybe encouraged by @Hemiak's swift progress I also got back into some Downwell. I made it to the boss for the first time yesterday but that's all the progress I got in that game. Kudos on making such quick work of a pretty unforgiving game. What player style did you find to be the most beneficial? Were you playing on Vita or PS4. I try to take the levels fairly slow and cautious but a run can get messed up so quick. Also, I'll be changing my order a little bit and playing Sword Coast Legends next as a friend mentioned he was interested in running some co-op in that game over the weekend. Then I'll start Grand Kingdom after that.
Popular Post dizzyshadow
I might play a bit more later, but i'm going to write my final review now as I don't think my opinions will change. Game 3 : The Flame In The Flood The flame in the flood is a survival game with strong focus on crafting, you play as a girl called scout with only her dog Aesop for company, you start off at a camp site, with very little idea of what is happening, after exploring you discover a few basic materials & a radio which seems to have a signal but you can't make out what they are saying. You find a raft and the game pretty much forces you to get on. It set in what i imagine small town america to be like but after some kind of event which has led to significant flooding. The game play focuses on exploring the river, at the start you only have basic control of the raft using your oar and its a battle just to avoid smashing your raft on the rocks, as you move down river you encounter different areas which you can explore, these areas are all unique but the basically fall into certain categories (e.g. wilderness, camp site, hardware store, marina etc.) what the site is affects what you may find, the whole game is a battle for supplies, pretty much everything is scarce and just keeping your self fed , watered and warm is a challenge. That said you also have to avoid the wild animals, even the boar which is the lowliest creature is dangerous, on my first encounter it broke several of my bones and then killed. Then there are snakes, wolves and bears which are far more dangerous. Storage space is also limited so you have to choose carefully what you take with you, if not yet encountered the situation where i wish i had something I've left behind, but it does prevent you from hoarding resources. As you progress further you are able to craft more tools which makes the game easier. But also the game starts to throw more challenges at you. So far it feels well balanced. However I've only reached area 5 (of 10) so there may be much greater challenges to come. There are 2 difficulty settings, as far as i can tell the main difference is that the harder of the 2 uses permadeath The game says the aim is to survive as long as possible but from what i've seen i'm pretty sure there is actually an end. there is also an endless mode where the goal really is just to survive as long as you can. When i first started out i wasn't very sure of this game but it has grown on me, it reminded me a lot of don't starve but with a more realistic setting, i'll definitely be back for some more exploring at a later date. Playtime: 4 hours Trophies: 6/37 Rating: Completion: Future Plans: Will return to this later Next Up: Hidden Agenda

What player style did you find to be the most beneficial? Were you playing on Vita or PS4. I try to take the levels fairly slow and cautious but a run can get messed up so quick. I played it on ps4, and actually uploaded the hard mode run if you'd like to watch it. In a nut shell my strategy is to go slow and plan my moves ahead of time, unless things get really bad and then it's just blaze ahead and hope for the best. My priorities for upgrades are Knife and Fork any time before zone 4 (the earlier the better) Youth any time before 4-2, and even then if you just want health. The earlier the better so you have more choices each level. Gem reloader is amazing, so you don't have to worry as much about ammo. Gem bullets, it's awesome to shoot things that happened to get above you when you grab gems. With reloader and bullets, gem magnet becomes super powerful. I usually pass on apple early in a run unless I really need it, that way there's a chance I'll get it on a later level. I did this on my successful run and it came around again in zone 3 or 4 when I only had 2 hp. Blast boots are awesome, especially in zone 4, but I'll take them pretty much any time. Rocket boots are great mid-late run. Candle or time void are good in zone 4 and the boss, but both is overkill. Laser sight can be good for the boss, so you can stay high and hit him with Shotgun or puncher, but I'll always pass on that for one of the ones above. Upgrades I never take, exploding bodies, because I want to eat them all. Rocket jump, pointless and sometimes destroys objects I'd rather be standing on. Block bullets, I used to love this, but after accidentally destroying the only things to stand on and falling to my Doom for the 20th time I decided it wasn't worth it. Tips: you don't have to rush in zone 3. It's scary with the timer, but if you go slow, play safe, and always grab the air bubbles you'll have plenty of time. Zone 4, go ham, you can't stomp any of the enemies, and you can't accidentally destroy any of the obstacles, so just keep shooting if it isn't dead. You'll build up at least 25 combos consistently, cash them in at every side cave for a free hp and charge upgrade. Life > corpses > combos > gems. What this means is that always prioritize safety, if you aren't sure you can get those gems, that corpse, or kill that enemy safely, don't do it (unless there's no safe path). I like to eat every enemy I possibly can. More food = more hp. That said, getting consistent 8 enemy combos can rack up a bonus 100 gems. For the boss, stay high. Clear the enemies, dodge the fireballs, then unload. Pick up the weapon upgrades if you need the hp or like the new one better. ARM SPIN STYLE - when you think about it there's really no comparison. You don't need a shop every floor, and gem piles are basically worthless (120 gems is less than half the cheapest purchase). The weapon upgrades give you a free hp or a free +2 charge, taking every one of these can easily net you an hp upgrade and 20 charge by the time you leave zone 2. With arm spin the shop card upgrade becomes really strong. Having a guaranteed shop that you can use if you need it is amazing on later floors. Early game I buy a few charge upgrades to get me started. Once I'm passed about 16 or so I don't bother buying them. Only buy food if you need it, or if the extra will net you an hp upgrade. Find a pallette you like. The base one is fine but I didn't like it as much as #5. LOL, probably went on longer than I needed to. Gl Man. My hard mode clear if anyone is interested in checking the game out. @dizzyshadowthat sounds interesting. For some reason I thought that game was an RPG.
Popular Post DamagingRob
Titan Souls- Final Review Over the past 2 days, I played through the game about 4 more times. There is just something about it, that makes me want to keep playing, so I think I'll bump up my score to a . My second playthrough was on No Roll mode. What they don't tell you in the trophy description, is this is also no run mode. So, with both of those being disabled and the game already being hard as hell, you can imagine what this is like. I died another 300+ times here, and only had to fight a fraction of the Titans from before (you only need to defeat 11 of them to progress to the final 2 bosses). But somehow, I managed to do it. Then there was a 20 minute speedrun. This meant backing up my saves and downloading them a lot, until I beat a Titan in a good amount of time. Had a time of 14:22 at the final boss, which the timer stops at, for whatever reason. And after all that, Iron Mode. Iron Mode gives you a single life. Dying sends you back to the beginning. If this was some Mein Leben type of mode, and you couldn't back up your saves, I wouldn't have even attempted it. But thankfully, that's not the case. But it meant backing up saves for every defeated Titan, and downloading them for every death. And last but not least, they want you to do that on Hard Mode. Hard Mode is an even harder mode, with the Titans having more and different patterns of attacks, and a lot of times being much faster than their Normal counterparts. I made it all the way to the end, but I don't really want this for my 300th Plat, so I had to stop. Because of all the backing up and deleting of saves, I can't say how many times I died. But since the first two playthroughs saw close to 700 deaths, I'm sure it was over a thousand. If you try to Plat this one, know that you're in for a challenge. But it's a rather fun challenge. Time played: 18-20 hours? Have to guess with all the save wiping.. Trophy progress: 25/28 for 82% and an A rank. Did it lower my completion? Yes, but by only 0.2%.
Popular Post Psy-Tychist
Game 2: Magicka 2 This game is funny. This is all you really need to know. Just in case though, follow on. Magicka 2 is a sequel to the well received Magicka available on PC. I watched a part play-through involving the Yogscast and TotalBiscuit which I enjoyed immensely and was glad to see it come to consoles. I wasn't quick to jump into playing it (mostly I was scared of the rarity and I didn't play multiplayer games) but after seeing several people on PSNP play and complete it, I should just jump into it. Gameplay-wise you play as a robed wizard guy/girl/indeterminate in a quasi-top down adventure game. There will be a lot of these type games on my list for some reason. You have many base spells to choose from and they can be combined and utilised in a myriad of ways. Either projectile, beam, wall, area effect, personal, imbuing; all can be done with all elements available. There are 7 elements and the Shield ability which can be used mostly exclusively my itself. Combinations of the spells will affect enemies differently and most enemies have a weakness and a resistance to certain elements. Practising these can be a challenge on your own as you don't have a huge amount of health and enemies swarm you wherever you go. I've found that I have a hard time staying alive and dealing with enemies effectively, but I will learn. Your motivation for going on this adventure is to save the prophesied super powerful wizard falling into the wrong crowd or being killed. Of course this is narrated by the vampire Vlad (who is so much a vampire trope it hurts) who also acts as your guide/informant throughout the wacky adventure. The writing is excellently satirical and silly all at once. Just by talking to the NPC's (who can all be killed) you get a feeling that the developers really just wanted to have fun. I don't even know how far I am into the game, but I don't really care, the presentation and writing is just hilarious. I haven't attempted going multiplayer yet, but hopefully @Mesopithecus will be free sometime so that I can not die as much as I have been and see what the term 'friendly fire' really means. Overall, this is the game fore playing with friends and challenging yourself, totally recommended. Trophies: 1/47 - 1% 2 hours played. Completion Rate: 53.73% - down 0.07% total Next Game: The Witch and the Hundred Knight. Metal Slime King
Thanks for the tips @Hemiak! I just had a great run, second time past level 4 and I got Ground Allergy, Clean Boots, 100 Combo and 5000 Gems trophies all in one shot! Now I'll never have to avoid side rooms on the last level again, which should make it easier. I got further on the boss but not quite there yet.

I was so busy trying to plat LEGO Marvel's Avengers for my backlog challenge that I lost track of the time. Luckily I got in 20 minutes under the mark, enough time to buy Bentley's Hover Pack and get another trophy. Started Chapter 2, 1/3 of the way through the chapter. I died a lot in the part with the, er, nevermind it's a story spoiler. But anyways, I will probably finish Chapter 2 on Day 5 and save the challenges for the final day. Popular Post ladynadiad
Progress so far: Chapter 5, almost 8 hours in Trophies: 2 out of 45 Yeah, I definitely wasn't kidding about how unlikely it was that I'd earn another trophy before I'm done with this game for the event, but I definitely plan to plat it later on. I got past some of those difficult bosses, seems like when you run into trouble either you need to change up the party to take advantage of different types of attacks or you need to farm for some better equipment or both. Pretty much the game now has me running all over the place to find essence crystals so this one person who can possibly help the party get home can regain her powers. Of course this isn't quite an easy task because there sure are some hard bosses to beat to get access to these, but I got one and gained a nifty skill to do a double jump and now can access more parts of dungeons and more easily evade monsters if I don't feel like fighting them. I have to say though, what really makes this game fun is Yamatoga. He's pretty much the reason why your party is brought to this place and gives them their powers, to explain it with as few spoilers as possible. He's also got a fun sense of humor. I cracked up at this bit: Spoiler And that also shows a bit of what the graphics are like too. I just think he's a fun character and the concept behind him is really interesting. I won't spoil the folks who are playing it soon and honestly I still don't know everything about what his deal is, but hey he gives us nice powers and is pretty amusing, what isn't to like? I'm up to 9 party members now. Still can't buy stuff, but I can sell stuff to get money now, which at least opens up the trophies for getting money (though I'm a long ways away from 100,000 AMP). The party also now has a place to stay and when I go and explore dungeons they go off and do stuff and when I return I might get some items or a scene between some characters, which is pretty neat too! Plus some of the reports of what they were up to are funny. Overall, I've enjoyed this game and I think it's a good enough game. It has flaws definitely, but they don't really detract from the overall experience being fun. I think the others playing it this month will enjoy their time doing so. I'm definitely going to keep on playing and get that nice shiny UR plat. Popular Post Metal Slime King
Brawlhalla (Rating: ) This is a F2P 2D arena fighting game which others have compared to Smash Bros. A concern with free to play competitive games is whether they are pay to win. Obviously there are things you can buy for real money but from what I can tell they are purely cosmetic. The combat is fairly simple. There are 10 weapon types and each type has it's own move set. There is a quick attack and a heavy attack and each will vary whether you are on the ground (neutral, holding to the side or holding up) or in the air (neutral, holding to the side, holding up or holding down). There are numerous characters to select, each character can carry a unique combination of two weapon types and has their own unique stats (Damage, Defence, Attack Speed, Agility). Players start each round unarmed (unarmed has it's own move set shared by all characters) and as the round progresses weapons drop into the arena to pick up as well as other items that can be picked up and thrown at other players if your player is unarmed. You can throw held weapons to do some damage to other players as well as to re-equip. It's a good system because the characters get to be unique but you can switch between them and still know the moves. The round ends conditionally dependant on the game mode. There are several game modes to select (either un-ranked modes which give gold and XP and ranked modes which give gold, XP and Glory, a currency for buying cosmetics). There is Free for All where 4 players all fight each other and rounds last for a set time. The player with the most points at the end is the winner. There is 1 vs 1 where 2 players have a set amount of lives and last man standing wins. There is 2 vs 2 where you and a teammate both have a set amount of lives as does the opposing team and the last team standing wins. If one player losses all their lives but the other player carries the round then both teammates are credited with a win. I like this mode the best so far and it seems to be the best for getting the 250 online wins trophy as your odds of winning are effectively doubled, compared to free for all anyways. There is also the ability to setup an offline game although there are no trophies for it and no story behind. Seems good for practice and if you wanted couch co-op only. I've also read you can use offline mode to effectively grind for gold and XP for those trophies. Although the controls are fairly simple there is some strategy in using them against you opponent. The graphics look decent. The characters are nice, crisp sprites with their own unique details. The arenas are sort of bland, one of them is just a floating block, most have a couple different levels to move between and some of them have moving elements but it would have been more interesting if the layouts were more complicated. I tried to get the full experience from the game but the music I found to be very weak and boring. I had much more fun in this game after I muted the game music and played my own. While the controls are good enough to be fun and I didn't find them frustrating the core game itself wasn't really interesting enough to maintain my interest for an extended period of time. This game is one I might come back to every now and then for a couple of rounds while I'm thinking of what else to play. Although I'm not technically done with this game I'm far enough along to give my final thoughts. The only trophies I have left are the last two grindy trophies, Account Level 40 and 100,000 Gold and the final grind is going to be crazy (more like Grindhalla). I'm around Lv37 and just got the trophy for 50,000 gold and you pick up XP way faster than gold so unless the XP level requirements are sharply exponential I'll still have plenty of gold to grind when I hit Lv40. I'm done playing against other people in matchmaker and instead playing online private timed matches against bots as that seems to be the most efficient method to get gold and I've already got all the trophies that I needed to get in matchmaker. Even using this most efficient method it would take 83 hours of straight play to grind out that last 50,000 gold! Obviously I won't be doing that all in one session and things like daily login bonuses, daily mission bonuses, bonuses for levelling up different characters and bonuses for account levelling up will help. So I'll be popping into this game on a daily basis for a couple of rounds for quite awhile if I want that plat. The only real amendment I would make to my original review, after playing with a bunch of different characters is this. Each character can equip two weapon types and each weapon type has it's own moveset but each character also has their own unique signature moves with those weapon types. For example each spear user has the same air attacks with the spear but they each have unique standing / crouching fierce spear moves. So although all characters generally control the same there is a reason to try different character / weapon combinations to see which signature moveset works best for you. When I was having the most fun with this game, going for the matchmaker specific trophies, I was thinking I should upgrade my rating for this game to a gold but now that all I'm left with is a crazy, boring grind I think I'll stick with my original silver rating. Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Game #2 - Day #4 - Progress Agents of Mayhem Time played: about 5 hours Trophies earned: 12/50 Decided to stop with the collectibles a bit until I unlocked the option to activate all the warp locations. So I went back to do some story missions. I've been noticing a pattern when it comes to those though. It seems to usually boil down to doing a series of missions then defeating a boss, boss getting away and the game sending you to a new mission which involves beating the boss again. This happens 2-3 times, which is something that could get old really quick. Collectibles-wise I'm currently at around 70/350. There's no tracker for them, which sucks. Anyway, I'll only be going for collectibles during these last 3 days for this game.
Popular Post PerryToxteth
Game No. 2 Rime First Impressions: Fellow KYCers have covered "the story" so I'll try to hit other items about this game. This game falls into my "passive gaming" category. It is a game to unwind with and relax. The music is great and similar to Journey's soundtrack (the game, not Steve Perry's 80s band). The visuals remind me of the Disney film "Fantasia." It has an animated feel but, with a minimum of colors. And the graphics aren't HD sharp, but that's what the developer intended. It's an exploratory type of game. Wander around, enjoy the scenery because it really is quite incredible. The gameplay reminds me of old PS1 Tomb Raider games when Lara is solving puzzles (sorry, no two-handed Uzi shooting here). But remember when Lara would need to shove blocks around? And platform up to places and jump from ledge to ledge? This is how a lot of this game plays, but it's nowhere near the platform difficulty TR had. And the Rime boy tends to not have a desire to jump off every cliff like Lara used to do. I've just completed Chapter 2, also known as the "Bird that Refuses to Die" chapter. It took me a good two hours, but that was because I explored a bit, and I lost a good 45 minutes because the game accidentally skipped a section. My boy died, but my respawn point was farther than I had made it, so it took me forever to realize I needed to backtrack and complete a task in a part of the world I hadn't seen. Argh! My other complaint is that the game gets really dark. Not in a story sense, but visually. As in, where the fuck am I going because I can't see!! I started falling off starways because my screen was essentially black and I couldn't spot the way. It got so bad, I finally had to adjust the brightness on my TV. But I am having fun. From the trophy list, it looks like I'll need to replay if again to find some collectibles and perform some tasks but that's fine with me.
CJ_Mystery
Period 2, Day 4: Sly 3 Did a couple of missions and managed to finally get the Loot! trophy after farming one mission where Murray has to feed miners to a crocodile. Crikey! Tried to mug the guys but their buddies keep hitting Murray and knocking him down so I just had to submit to mashing his punches to destroy them for loot, which gives far less. Got enough to buy the paraglider and upgrade Sly's jump attack. (Had to repurchase the Hover Pack because the game only saves after you do missions and I quit just after I purchased the pack after the last mission so it didn't save.) Then I accidentally took Sly to the lemonade bar and had to do that mission instead of the one involving radioactive oil. At least it earned me another trophy. Slowing down because I plan to finish all the challenges in Chapter 2 by the end of the session so I can save future Chapters for after the event. Trophy Completion: 38% Trophies Earned:

It really is, i played another 3 hours last night and the more i play the more the game grows on me. I started again and took it a bit more slow and steady rather than rushing through the zones, it seemed to work much better, although that may be because i understand the mechanics better as well. Still only on Zone 5 but i feel like i'm in a good position now, where as last time i was virtually dead. I often go into these games without much idea what they will be like, i'm a big fan of indy games and its nice to uncover a gem like this, but other times it doesn't go so well (i'm looking at you AereA) I think i picked this up in the recent sale for about £4, so its been well worth the money. I'm actually sad to moving on to the next game tonight.

Welcome to the club, I missed the first statue at the beginning of Chapter 2 because I didn't follow the video guide I was following(was following a puzzle guide which doesn't mention collectibles) and left the people of salt room and passed a point of no return. I am going to wait a while until I can get up the strength to redo Chapter 1. At least I don't have to do all the miscellaneous trophies in Chapter 1 again. I don't know if you completed the game yet but you can use chapter select after finishing the story once. There you can see what you missed in each chapter. That should help if you aren't sure where you missed collectables.
ladynadiad
I don't really have anything more to say about Exist Archive that I haven't said, but I did want to go ahead and update my stats before I start my next game since I did accomplish earning a third trophy before I was done. Progress: Chapter 6, a bit over 14 hours of play Trophies earned: 3 out of 45 (D rank) Games played: 89 Games completed: 75 Completion: 87.94% (-0.93%) Unearned Trophies: 305 Trophies for this event: 39/270 Yeah, the average completion for Exist Archive is so low that 3 trophies was enough to get it to a D and somehow I did enough grinding that I killed 1000 variants already, Also, I decided that I am going to swap out Zero no Kiseki later on for Tokyo Xanadu. I was going to pick Tokyo Xanadu originally, but I was having a hard time locating a copy unless I wanted to pay something really unreasonable for the Vita version. I did locate a copy though so I'm going to swap it in. Edited March 11, 2018 by ladynadiad
Popular Post Kevvik
So RL has not been cooperative from a gaming view for the past while. I'll give a quick inter on game 3 and more on game 4. Game #3: The Talos Principle Initial Impressions Time played: 45 min over the 3 days Yep, I got virtually no game time in but got a little bit of 5 min here, 5 min there. Not sure how much summary I can give but here goes... The Talos Principle is a first person puzzle game. You play an unnamed AI (I think) who enters a realm created by your creator, Elohim. He says that if you can take control of the realm by finding certain digits, then you will rule here. meanwhile other of his creations will basically get in your way, killing you (temporarily) if you don't manage to find the signals without triggering them. These creations include motion sensing laser guns, roaming metal balls and dealing with energy barriers that block your path. So far, the only defence you seem to have other than your movement are jamming devices on tripods which can be placed to disrupt foes and deactivate energy fields while the device is aimed at them. The signals look like Tetris pieces and there are also stars which appear to be some special piece that I haven't determined the use of yet. After working through the first area, you take a teleportation circle to what looks like a central hub that accesses other areas with similar puzzles. The process of finding the sigils gets more complicated as you progress through levels from the hub. The game looks great (from what little I've seen) and the background score is subtle and enjoyable. The puzzles have been fairly simple through the first few 'worlds' though the complexity is slowly increasing. I wish I had had more time to put in and give a better impression because this seems right up my alley. Trophies earned: 3/40, 4% for E rank Score so far: 7/10 Completion rate: 79.86% (-0.64% for the event) Game #4: Dragon Quest Builders Initial Impressions Time played: 4 hrs (today gave me a break from RL finally) Open disclaimer, I have never played real Minecraft (don't think Story Mode really counts) but my son loves it and also loves this game. Set in the cute Dragon Quest universe, you slightly customize a character to become the Legendary Builder, the only person who can "create" things as apparently everyone else is useless in this regard though they have a lot of great ideas of what you can build for them (I have family like this). You must stop the dark lord and his minions by building crap loads of stuff for other people as you build up cities for a few people you meet along the way. You build thing by picking up 'ingredients' which you obtain by destroying the environment (rocks, trees, plants, monsters, the ground) and then customize away, having moments of inspiration complete with light bulb that provide recipes for various items. You also need to build things that will help you build (forges, cooking pits). Occasionally the castle/city/few rooms that you are building up will be attacked by monsters (slimes, skeletons, hammerhoods aka hamsters with hammers and wearing hoods, etc). Those familiar with the DQ world will enjoy seeing all the old foes. Combat is simple and straightforward in real time vice the turn-based traditions of DQ. The graphics are solid, DQ consistent with a great score. So far, the jobs my residents have requested have not been outrageous but have required me to use the teleportation device I came across to travel part way across the world looking for recipes for things to help defend our current home. I'm enjoying this as it keeps things moving, there's always something to do, even if it's just levelling up my residence by making it look cooler. So far, so good. Trophies earned: 2/20, 3% for E rank Score so far: 7/10 Hopefully the coming weeks will be more cooperative with letting me have at least a bit of gaming time.
MidnightDragon
Worked more on TMNT tonight. Got a couple miscellaneous trophies and I also got through more of the story. My plan is to finish the story on normal tomorrow.
Oobedoob S Benubi
I'm having bad luck with games this time, it seems. Tried Mighty No. 9 again today but I stopped because it was not fun, only frustrating. Started on Rebel Galaxy but two hours i. i became convinced that the devs missed a bunch of steps on "making games fun" as well, more on this later. Making lunch now but after that I think I'll do Uncanny Valley. Might not be an amazing game but it's short, meaning J can do three final reviews into one post today and meaning I can spend a lot of days this month on one of the longer games, like Deus Ex.
Popular Post dertswa687o
I ran into a bit of roadblock for this event. I'm going to be out of town for work during weekdays over the next 3 weeks. I don't want to bring my PS4 to a hotel, so I think I'll bring my Vita TV and play Persona 4 Golden if I have time. I don't know how intense my working hours are going to be though so I'll see how much time I'll have. Game #2 - South Park: The Fractured But Whole I have to compare this to Stick of Truth because it's inevitable. This game has a bit less charm to me than Stick of Truth, but that might be because SoT felt like a whole new thing at the time and I'm still just wandering around South Park in TFBW. I can't remember SoT completely, but I feel like there was a way to walk faster in that game as movement in TFBW feels slower. Story is standard South Park, so that's good. This takes place right after SoT, but I feel like they didn't connect the games as well as they could. Not a big deal though. Combat is still turn based, but it's on a grid instead of standard turn based. Each character has 3 normal abilities and an ultimate. One of the big things in SoT was the timed button presses to do more damage and TFBW has that too. They just don't seem to have nearly as much of an impact this time and there's not much you can do on the defensive end. Battles do take longer than before but it seems like there are fewer of them. There aren't too many "random" encounters so the fights are primarily from the story events. Trophies look like they'll be a piece of cake. You have to do a playthrough as a black character on Mastermind difficulty, so I just went with that for my first playthrough. I have admittedly died at a couple places but I just won those on the 2nd try. Completion: 90.85% -> 90.49% Up Next: Persona 4 Golden (???)
Popular Post Metal Slime King
I've played some Sword Coast Legends, it's been alright. It's an action rpg based on Dungeons and Dragons mechanics so if you like big numbers in your rpgs you might be disappointed. Levelled up my Fighter a bit and now he's got a whole 21 str! Doing a big 30 damage! Take that, sewer rats! There's too much loot in this game, everything absolutely barfs stuff out at you and it takes awhile to go through it all to see whats better and what to sell because 'better' can be hard to define. Most of the weapons do about the same amount of base damage as weapons of the same type but it's a matter of boons and added effects that get traded off. Anyways I'm going to try the other mode available in the game, the dungeon crawl mode as opposed to the campaign mode. Re: Downwell. After getting down to the boss a number of times and being able to get down there consistently with decent health I finally beat normal mode today! My heart was pumping pretty fast, it's an intense fight. Then I fired up hard mode and .. ugh I'm taking a bit of a break before I try that again.
