Personally I really like Telltale games they're fun and a good "mindless" games are they considered junk because of how easy they are? I'm curios about your opinions. But I think that those trophies are probably trophies for games that are junk themselves and have easy trophy lists to try to sell to trophy hunters. For me personaly, if the game is worth playing for what it is, it doesn't matter if the plat rarity is 0.1% or 99%, and I wouldn't consider the trophies junk on either game (this is the case of Tell Tales games and the Visual Novels too). Junk trophies are the stuff from games that don't try to do anything other then sell trophies and those games usually are junk themselves. Also there's other kind of junk trophies in Just Cause 2 (check the trophy icons)... that's probably the worst that I ever saw.. most junk games even get better trophies then that one.. And I will leave out the stuff of multi-platinum text-skip VN and stuff (while VN are seen as a easy way to increase trophy count, I wouldn't consider them junk trophies, because they usually aren't that bad, it just happens that it attracts both, people that like that kind of games and people just looking for easy trophies). This is why I refuse to double plat VN and Tell Tales games, even if I had the option to do that, but this is my personal approach to my trophy hunting, nothing more. So in your case with playing Telltale games, even though they're easy platinums, if you played them for the sake of playing the game and not for the sake of popping trophies, you haven't earned any junk trophies from it. Barbell-Disciple Posted March 31, 2018 Share Posted March 31, 2018 (edited) I've seen this thrown around a bit too. I think it's just fucking silly if I'm honest. There are definitely junk games that shouldn't have/don't deserve a platinum trophy, but in genral, people should play whatever they enjoy playing. It's only the inconsistency that pisses me off... when games like: Little Nightmares, Sonic Mania, Trials Fusion and Hitman don't have a plat. Yet, sub 1hr games that present very little challenge do. Sony should either; make sure all games on the platform have a platinum trophy or sort out their quality control with regards to what actually deserves one vs what doesn't. My 2p ?? These hilarious images are allusions, but they’re not actually images of penises, therefore not junk trophies. Let’s put it this way: if a developer put an image of an actual penis or testicles in their trophy images, that game would never receive a rating below AO by the ESRB. But developers can put innuendos all day long with no problem, as we’ve now seen in the thread. Ok, now I got what you meant. Actually if that was to happen, it would probably not even being allowed by Sony, seeing that they made some trophy name changes because of similar things (and those were words, not images). Lava_Yuki Posted March 31, 2018 Share Posted March 31, 2018 To me it would be trophies for games that you only buy for the trophy, like Hannah Montana as opposed to actually enjoying the game. I don't see easy trophies as junk if you enjoy the game though. For example Danganronpa is a VN, long but not difficult and many people see VNs and otome games as junk trophies. I disagree, as personally I love Otome and VN games to take a break between RPGs, and the trophies are a nice bonus but not junk as I bought the game to enjoy it.
