It's been a great laptop and at the time there was no competition on the market but I would never buy a Dell/Alienware again. The laptop is great but the customer service is just awful and they are extremely overpriced. I bought my wife an MSI a few months ago and paid a fraction of what I paid and it is better in every possible way except the graphics card is a touch smaller than mine. There is definitely no need to overlock yet, that 9900k will crush any game/software on the market right now. I would also suggest never overclocking the 2080 and make sure you registered for the warranty as they are dying left and right. My buddy is on his 3rd in 4 months because they keep dying. Nvidia knows about it but there is no fix yet. I have heard people taking the heat sink off and applying a better heat paste helps but then you void warranty and it's not 100% guaranteed. Rarely ever has the "TI" variant been worth the extra cash, at that point you might as well take the next step into the bigger card and just overclock it yourself if you really need more. I sure hope the 21 series has these kinks fixed out, sadly I can't see performance taking that much of a leap from the 20 series cards but I will buy into it if the price seriously drops off. The setup is upgradable though so guess I should be fine for a while. Haven't had time to test how the GPU performs with ray tracing yet, got free download codes for Control and Wolfenstein: Youngblood though. Went with TN panel for the display as it seems there's some issues with the IPS panels at the moment. Acer 60hz monitor rn which ill swap to an AOC 23in 144hz one The case came with 4 rgb fans that are great, tempered glass, and a controller to add more fans and control fan speed. Amazing airflow and although I clean it monthly it barely has any dust in it. Currently everything is running purple including mouse and kb. Original set up I7 3770 on a 120mm AIO Sapphire Nitro RX 480 which was swapped to my 2060 Super 12gb ddr3 1600mhz... A RAM stick died. A 450w psu... How it didn't blow up I dunno. Swapped to my EVGA 650 GQ once I got my 2060 Super Same storage Thermaltake Core V21 with rgb strip set to green How do you add pics??? Litha Posted January 23, 2020 Share Posted January 23, 2020 I've got a crummy 9 year old laptop with a fan that periodically doesn't work and causes the thing to overheat and shut down when playing some more intensive games. It only reliably play older games (mid-2000's and back) which is good because a lot of games I'm interested in are from those periods.
