i5 6600k overclocked to 4.6 Ghz

Asus Z170-A motherboard

8 GB of RAM

2 awful 5400 RPM hard drives

Asus HD 7770 2GB Ghz Edition

NZXT S340

I would not recommend an HD 7770 in 2018, it's not great. I also would not recommend using a 5400 RPM hard drive, everyone hates you in Rainbow Six Siege because of how long it takes to load.

My PC can't handle anything good. Besides Fallout New Vegas. It's super bad but here's my specs and the few games I've tested on it that it can handle. I'm limited like no other. lol

CPU: AMD FX 6300 6core 3500 Mhz 3core

RAM: 8 GBS

Windows 7 Professional

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti

Games that can be played without crashing:

  • Overwatch
  • Stardew Valley
  • New Vegas
  • Bastion
  • Halloween Forever

I was planning on rebuilding this damn pc but I think I may just purchase myself a new one honestly.

Windows 10 Home

Intel Core i7 4720HQ 2.60GHz TurboBoost to 3.60GHz

GTX 980 6GB GDDR5

16GB DDR3 G.Skill Ripjaws 1600MHz

128GB Intel M.2 SSD

1TB Seagate HDD

Asus mg28uq 4K Monitor (when I am home) Laptop Display is 1920x1080

Razer DeathAdder Chroma Mouse

Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Keyboard

This is my laptop that I purchased in 2015 since I traveled a lot for work so I sold my tower for this Alienware 17 R2 and I have upgraded a bit like the m.2 drive and 16gb of ram from 8gb.

It's been a great laptop and at the time there was no competition on the market but I would never buy a Dell/Alienware again. The laptop is great but the customer service is just awful and they are extremely overpriced. I bought my wife an MSI a few months ago and paid a fraction of what I paid and it is better in every possible way except the graphics card is a touch smaller than mine.

There is definitely no need to overlock yet, that 9900k will crush any game/software on the market right now. I would also suggest never overclocking the 2080 and make sure you registered for the warranty as they are dying left and right. My buddy is on his 3rd in 4 months because they keep dying. Nvidia knows about it but there is no fix yet. I have heard people taking the heat sink off and applying a better heat paste helps but then you void warranty and it's not 100% guaranteed.

Other than that, nice build man! You definitely made some good choices for a first build. You will be set for a long time.

Alienware Area 51 R2

OS: Windows 10 Pro

CPU: Intel Core i7-6850K 3.6 Ghz, 6 Cores

RAM: 16 GB DDR4-2133

GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080 Founder's Edition (8 GB VRAM)

SSD: 256 GB

HDD (internal): 2 x 4 TB

HDD (external): 6 TB Toshiba

Monitor: Dell S2716DG (27" with G-Sync)

I won't be in a hurry to grab the RTX 2080 Ti, especially after hearing this. It just isn't reasonable for a $1000+ graphics card to have that kind of failure rate. Having to repeatedly replace it like that would get on my very last nerve.

It would be painfully annoying, having to box it up and send it away every few weeks would get old, especially for the price. The 2070 would be a better option right now but still way to expensive.

Also, IMO the 2080 Ti does not have enough of an advantage over the 1080 to justify that $1200 price. For that much money, is it wrong to want something more? I do not think so. Hopefully Nvidia should have these problems fixed with the 21 series, while also offering more power for the same cash.

Rarely ever has the "TI" variant been worth the extra cash, at that point you might as well take the next step into the bigger card and just overclock it yourself if you really need more. I sure hope the 21 series has these kinks fixed out, sadly I can't see performance taking that much of a leap from the 20 series cards but I will buy into it if the price seriously drops off. The fall of cryptocurrency should also help a lot.

Got a new rig for 10th wedding anniversary. Old one was a mid-range gaming PC from 2015. Maybe now I can get a bit higher fps for stuff like Hatoful Boyfriend.

OMEN by HP

CPU: Intel i7-8700K 3.70GHz - 4.70 GHz

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti (11 GB)

RAM: 32 GB DDR4 2666 MHz HyperX

Storage: 512 GB SSD + 2 TB 7200 RPM SATA

Cooling: Liquid cooling

PSU: 750 W

OS: Win 10 Home

Display: Asus ROG Swift PG278QR 27" WQHD, 2560 x 1440 @ 144/165 Hz

I'm hoping the CPU won't be a bottleneck. The setup is upgradable though so guess I should be fine for a while. Haven't had time to test how the GPU performs with ray tracing yet, got free download codes for Control and Wolfenstein: Youngblood though.
Went with TN panel for the display as it seems there's some issues with the IPS panels at the moment.

  • Mobo, MSI B450 Mortar Max.
  • Ryzen 5 3600 ( Corsair H100i PRO RGB 240mm )
  • 16gb Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 3000Mhz ( Soon to be 32gb )
  • MSI Ventus OC RTX 2060 Super ( Overclocked to run stable at around 2025mhz core at 66c )
  • EVGA 650 GQ
  • A 120gb SSD for OS and currently a 500gb HDD which will be swapped for a 2tb NVME SSD
  • Gamemax kamikaze pro MATX case.
  • Acer 60hz monitor rn which ill swap to an AOC 23in 144hz one

The case came with 4 rgb fans that are great, tempered glass, and a controller to add more fans and control fan speed. Amazing airflow and although I clean it monthly it barely has any dust in it. Currently everything is running purple including mouse and kb.

          Original set up

  • I7 3770 on a 120mm AIO
  • Sapphire Nitro RX 480 which was swapped to my 2060 Super
  • 12gb ddr3 1600mhz... A RAM stick died.
  • A 450w psu... How it didn't blow up I dunno. Swapped to my EVGA 650 GQ once I got my 2060 Super
  • Same storage
  • Thermaltake Core V21 with rgb strip set to green

How do you add pics???

I've got a crummy 9 year old laptop with a fan that periodically doesn't work and causes the thing to overheat and shut down when playing some more intensive games.  It only reliably play older games (mid-2000's and back) which is good because a lot of games I'm interested in are from those periods. I never bothered to upgrade because I'm poor as nobs and most of the more intensive games are also released on PS4, which is why I'm here.
