It's been years since I don't have a desktop computer, I'm not a pc-gamer and I don't need it either, so I'm going to show you the little "beast" (if I can call it that) that got me through college, my laptop.

Name: PLUS-ULTRA (I cannot help with my Boku No Hero feelings, sorry haha)

Processor: Intel (R) core (TM) i7- 4510U @ 2.60 GHz
RAM 8gb, or 8000mb that sounds better, isn't it?
SSD: 1TB

OS: Wx64

blablabla..whatever

So, simple, I beat Destiny2 on this thing, so it can't be that bad

I just built my first ever gaming desktop! I was hoping it would give me decent performances. It ended up being pretty damn good!

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 ghz 6-core (also just using the stock cooler that came with it for now, I already have that and several fans in the case)

MB: B550M AM4 Bazooka Micro ATX

Memory ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB DDR4-3200 CL 16

Storage: Seagate 510 500GB M.2-2280 NVME SSD

GPU: GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB SC Ultra

PSU: Gamemax RGB 750W 80+ Gold

I've been playing the Halo MCC (I know, traitor to Playstation here) and it runs every game on that collection at max settings flawlessly. I just cancelled my pre-order of Cyberpunk on PS4 so I can get it on this rig. I'll be switching out the CPU followed by the GPU in the coming years, but right now? It's a damn good machine.

CPU: Intel i7 10700K with a Noctua NH-D15S as the cooler.

MB: Z490 Aorus Ultra ATX

RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB DDR4 3200 (will likely get another 32GB kit to put it at 64GB at some point).

Storage: Sabrent Rocket 1TB NVME drive, 2 1TB HDDs which I plan to eventually replace with another M2 drive down the line to eliminate disc based storage altogether in the system. Only when I can get a somewhat decent 2-4TB one at a decent price though.

GPU: MSI Gaming X Trio RTX 3070

PSU: Corsair RM750

My first personal build in a long time. Came from using Mac, but at the prices they are going up to, I found it would be so much cheaper and better bang for my buck by moving to a custom build, very happy with this build so far! I'm very lucky to have obtained a 30 series Nvidia. :) Only thing I have left to buy really is a new Capture Device as you might be wondering why I built it as high spec as I have and that's because I really wanted to make it my main streaming system as well as some gaming. I had a 4K60 Pro in it originally but that was being faulty on me, was purchased from the warehouse, and generally I read up on these being buggy for the most part, so I am doing some research on what external ones to go for.

My current PC is about 4½ years old now, but I've had no reason to upgrade yet:

CPU: i7 4770K

Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Hero

RAM: 16GB G.Skill TridentX 1866MHz CL8

GPU: 2x Radeon R9 290X Crossfire

Case: Nanoxia Deep Silence

Storage 1: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB

Storage 2: Western Digital Black 2TB

Storage 3: Western Digital Red 3TB

PSU: Cooler Master V1000

Display: HP ZR30w

Cooling: 3x NZXT Kraken X40 + 5x Noctua NF-A14 PWM

Keyboard: Logitech G610 Orion Brown

Mouse: Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum

Sound: Marantz HD-DAC1 + Singxer F-1 + Genelec 8020B

OS: Windows 10

Finally decided it's time to upgrade as I want to play Cyberpunk 2077 on PC. This really isn't a good time build a new rig as everything is out of stock and prices are inflated but I eventually managed to get all the parts needed:

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X + Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black

Motherboard: MSI B550 Tomahawk

RAM: 32GB G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 3600MHz CL16

GPU: MSI RTX 3070 Suprim X 8GB

Case: Fractal Design Define 7 + 3x Noctua NF-A14 PWM chromax.black fans

SSD 1: A-Data 512GB XPG SX8200 Pro NVMe PCIe 3.0

SSD 2: A-Data 1TB XPG SX8200 Pro NVMe PCIe 3.0

HDD: 4TB Seagate Barracuda

PSU: Corsair RM750x

Display: MSI Optix MPG341CQR 34" 21:9 curved 3440x1440 144hz

Keyboard: Logitech G610 Orion Brown

Mouse: Logitech G502 Lightspeed Wireless + Logitech Powerplay wireless charging mousemat

Sound: Marantz HD-DAC1 + Singxer F-1 + Genelec 8020B

OS: Windows 10

So apart from the keyboard, amp/dac and speakers everything else is new. I had originally planned on a Ryzen 5900X and either an RTX 3080 or RX6800XT but those are impossible to get right now so I settled on the 5600X and RTX 3070. Those should still be plenty good enough as this build is pretty much exclusively for gaming so I don't really have any need for more than a 6-core CPU and the 3070 is still a good choice for 1440p. Of course the 3070 also has access to DLSS and much better raytracing performance than the 6800XT and Nvidia is working on a similar technology to AMD's Smart Access Memory that should bring small performance improvements once it gets released.

Ok, this is going to be another one of these posts with an ancient PC. Most parts are from 2007. I believe, only graphics card and PSU were replaced.

Also, disclaimer: I don't understand computers too well ?

Motherboard: Asus M2N

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ 2.61 GHz

GPU: Sparkle GeForce GT 520 1GB
RAM: Samsung 2GB DDR2 667MHz

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 250 GB 7200 rpm

PSU: FSP ATX-400PNR 400W

Yeah, I need a new PC xD

HTPC:

CPU: i5-2400 3.10GHz

GPU: GTX 1650 (Zotac Low Profile)

RAM: 8gb DDR3 (4GB x 2)

MOBO: Hewlett-Packard 1494

SSD: Hyundai Sapphire 120GB

HDD: HGST Travelstar 640GB

Gaming PC:

CPU: i5-7400 3.00 GHz

GPU: GTX 1060 (Zotac Mini 6GB)

RAM: 16GB DDR4 (8GB x 2)

MOBO: GA-B250M-D3H

SSD: Kingston A400 120GB

HDD: WD Blue 2TB

CASE: Corsair Carbide 100R Silent Edition

PSU: EVGA 450 B3

I have cheap wireless Logitech KB&M for both systems (models MK270 & MK320). Due to muscle & nerve issues, playing for extended periods with KB&M isn't possible, so I play everything I can with a wired 360 gamepad, and I have a Logitech F310 gamepad for those rare DirectInput moments.

I originally built my computer back in 2014 and basically every component has been upgraded or replaced at this point. I was planning on building a new machine this past year when Nvidia 3000 series came out, and then Covid caused a chip shortage and demand went through the roof, making it impossible to get a GPU at a reasonable price. For now, I'll just wait it out and work on my trophy backlog. Hopefully GPU prices will come down before Nvidia 4000 releases.

OS: Windows 10 Pro

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700U

GPU: Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx

RAM: 32GB DDR4

Storage: 512 GB m2 SSD | 2TB 2.5" SSD | 366 GB microSD

I used to have a laptop with a better GPU. GTX 1050Ti. Bought it in 2017. After two years, I swore off gaming laptops for their un-optimal build quality and bought into the business laptop hype with the numbers you see above. Haven't looked back since.

This was my first PC build, built right before the pandemic hit and made prices for everything skyrocket. Managed to get it built around Christmas time 2019 and it's still running like a charm a couple of years later. My only regret was the case I ended up going with. I didn't really know too much about case sizes and the one I went with looks good and everything, but it's massive for what I have in it. Would've probably been better suited for running a custom liquid cooled rig, but it is what it is and I can't complain.

This is my current PC and Streaming setup!

AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 3080 OC
ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero Wi-Fi
ASUS ROG Ryujin 360 AIO
32 GB Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB DDR4-3600
Lian-Li O11D
Steelseries Artic Pro Wireless
Steelseries Rival 650 Wireless
Steelseries Apex Pro
Razer Naga Trinity
Logitech Streamcam
Elgato Stream Deck XL
Elgato Green Screen
Elgato HD60 X
Elgato Ring Light
Neewer nw-700
Behringer Q802USB Xenyx Premium

I still mostly play on a 1080p monitor, so it is a little bit of overkill but it is a really cool machine :D

I do sometimes connect it to my 65" LG BX though :D It has VRR and 120Hz support and actually is one of the few TVs that also work super good as a monitor.
