Popular Post Honor_Hand
Hey, Copanele. Looks like you've been pretty busy conquering a bunch of different games, huh? That's awesome! I remember checking this thread a couple of weeks ago, and since then, you've already beaten/platinum'ed so many games. Excellent work, man. =D I already commented on a couple of them on your profile, but I also wanted to drop a quick message here to congratulate you on SF III: Third Strike. It was a pleasure boosting that one with you. It helped me get those online trophies there out of the way. Also, your recollection of playing that title through emulation on a PC reminded me of my experience with Darkstalkers word by word, haha. Also, I took the (rather questionable) decision of starting Girl Fight not too long ago. I already got the online trophies out of the way. For a moment, I thought at least there was gonna be some sort of eye candy that was gonna be salvageable from there. Man, was I wrong... xxD Welp, I already signed for it so I may as well do it. Maybe the fighting will be kind of enjoyable. It's a shame the single-player trophies in it are all of the grindy variety, but oh well. I certainly should be playing DoA instead! Also, that Jojo fighting game looks sick! O.O I am probably one of the only two persons in the universe who knows nothing about Jojo, but I can certainly appreciate an outlandish, zany fighting game whenever I see one.

Also speaking of emulated games...I sure hope they bring back Capcom vs SNK 2 one day 😔 that one was SO GOOD 5 hours ago, Honor_Hand said: Also, I took the (rather questionable) decision of starting Girl Fight not too long ago. It's a legit fighting game made by Capcom and boy is it good! Capcom doesn't deal in low level Spike Chunsoft quality. Popular Post Copanele
You know, I will be super mega lazy just like the following game and mostly copy my status update as a review: No. 244 - My Hero One's Justice 2 Platinum Name - A Real Hero Hardest Trophy - Gang Hero - Clear Mission "survival" Difficulty - 5/10 This really is not a Plus Ultra game.... Sometimes there's games that feel specifically engineered to be an absolute bore to play. Games that suck on purpose. I had the feeling with this one. Holy DAMN what a boring ass game! My Hero is (or rather, was) the new shonen to dethrone the One PIeces, the Narutos, the cool kids in the block. It did have some resounding success so obviously there were games made after it. The first game was interesting enough to play despite its shortcomings. This one however... First of all, for a My Hero fan, this game is a perfect adaptation. It covers a License arc and the "Overhaul" arc (I am not good with the manga anime/basically an interschool tournament arc followed by some Yakuza dismantling people arc). The characters and their quirks (abilities) are faithfully represented together with their behavior and mannerisms. The presentation of the game is top notch and it has that " western comic book" feel that the manga tried to represent. Bakugo charging his hand farts in this game And then you start to play the damn thing and you wonder "oh no what have I done". Every character fight devolves into a mashing of square, with the occasional R1 block and R1 + other buttons to spam a super. The AI blocks CONSTANTLY and reads your inputs, Yakuza 3 style. Despite having a large cast, only a few of them felt different to play as, the rest just asking you to mash to infinity and beyond. The story mode is so segmented and so bland you are better off reading the actual manga. You have an arcade mode of sorts where you can only select the difficulty of the arcade. The Mission mode is a "gauntlet" where you pick contracts and realize that the AI is so broken, you can finish this thing only with a select few characters (you can even break the AI with a character). You have an online that nobody plays because really, why would anyone bother with this game? Also there's Mineta. Whoever knows the show, hates Mineta and SHOULD hate Mineta. This diaper wearing motherfucker is the worst manga/anime character ever created. The problem of this game overall is that it's boring, it feels BORING, snooze inducing. It's not bad, it functions as a game but I don't know...it's like a stupid university lecture in a class that you couldn't give 2 damns about. It's too much of the first game with extra blocking on top. Can't believe the biggest challenge in a game would be to actually stay awake I am putting this here because her super woke me up (due to the noise) Unless you're a diehard fan of My Hero Academia, avoid this snoozefest of the game. Really, save yourself the headache and the boredom. Read the manga, watch the anime, download a MUGEN version of the game and play a bootleg 2D version with sprites. Don't pay for this stupid game. Can't believe they managed to mess up a power based highschool beatdown, it's literally one of the best concepts ever. THE GOOD: It's actually a faithful adaptation of the manga/anime, believe it or not The artstyle is on point THE BAD: Balance is a social construct aimed to undermine our society, therefore some characters are busted and most are useless Recommendation - Dragon Ball FighterZ On the absolute opposite spectrum, a game that 100% respects its source material AND is insanely fun to play - Arcsys' Dragon Ball FighterZ. Heck, play it even if you don't like Dragon Ball 9

Yuber6969
Damn, I'm gone for a week and you've finished a shitton of games lol. Congrats! I liked what I read about SF6. I still have to play 4 and maybe 5, so I won't get there for a while, but it's nice to see that I'll have something to look forward to. I feel your pain on those tournaments though. Having to wake up super early on my days off for the VF5 tournaments on my day off was a nuisance, and SF6's connection issues would make that worse. You also reminded me that I still have to write my Girl Fight review, but the trophy list was so braindead that I might not even bother lol. "Unless you have some dumb target to play as many fighting games as you can until your hand can't take it anymore..." ^Dude that's basically us at this point XD 1

Popular Post Copanele
💯No. 69 - Feeding Frenzy 2: Shipwreck Showdown Hardest Trophy - The Intruder - finish the main campaign Difficulty - 3/10 Does anyone here remember PopCap Games? The "addictive games" devs who were behind stuff like Bejewelled, Peggle, Bookworm Adventure (a personal favorite) or the original Plants vs Zombies (before it was perverted by EA). A great company who really knew how to make simple yet charming games. One such game was Feeding Frenzy and it's sequel Feeding Frenzy 2 Shipwreck Showdown which was lucky enough to have a trophy list on PS3, thus giving me the opportunity to talk about it. The premise is very simple yet brilliantly executed: you are a fish, tiniest of its kind, your task in every level is to become the biggest fish in the sea. You can accomplish that by eating other fishes of smaller or same dimension as you . You have to be careful though, because just as the saying goes "there's always a bigger fish", so are others who want to munch on your tasty fins. Thus appears the target : eat or be eaten. Simple, yet effective "Yummy" is the thought of every single being in that picture As mentioned, the more you eat, the bigger you get, which allows you to turn from prey to predator. There are some fishes that can't be eaten no matter what (such as the Barracudas) but overall, 99% of the sea world is edible. In the bottom left of the screen, you have a meter that shows you how much you have to eat in order to "level up", together with the fishes that you can eat. You also have a FRENZY! meter that is filled depending on how fast you eat the fishes. A bigger Frenzy! meter means more points, which get converted in lives. You need those lives, because on later levels it will be harder and harder to avoid the big chompers. My turn now! You also have powerups in this game! Stuff like the lightning bolt, that increases your speed, decoy fishes, shrooms that shrink the bigger fishes, force fields, or even the elusive Golden Fish, which automatically levels you up to the next rank. Sometimes these power ups are tricky, especially the lightning bolt that can make you way too fast and causing an accidental swim into a whale's mouth. On the flip side, there are some sneaky fishes that do not cooperate even if they are smaller than you. You can encounter octopuses that spit ink and blur your vision, puffer fishes that inflate and repel you, cutting down on your level bar and worst of them all, the toxic fish who inverts your controls and forces you to mash in order to remove the effect. The toxic fish is the most annoying of them all and the only part of the game that actually pissed me off 😂 Funny enough, this game actually has a story! There's an unknown threat in the waters, a fish nobody has seen before, so a group of other fishes try to eat this threat and save the oceans. You switch from fish to fish, each with its own area and abilities (the deep water fish has a neat dark mechanic) and in the end you manage to corner and capture the alien fish. It's funny how they actually bothered to include a short little story in this game. The game has also a multiplayer element - you can play with others if you wish via couch co-op in various modes: eat the pearls, eat each others' tail, capture the light etc. It's a fun mode if you want to have some fun with your kids. All in all, I think Feeding Frenzy 2 is a classic fun game showing the good old days of PopCap Games. Sure, it's no fancy top tier game, but it gets its job done and it's a relaxing game to play on the good ol' PS3 console. And it's way more fun than actual fishing! THE GOOD: Simple yet addictive The "eat or be eaten" concept is well implemented It has a story mode! THE BAD: Those stupid toxic fishes ended way too many runs RECOMMENDATION - Zuma if you don't know this game, consider yourselves lucky - Zuma was one of the craziest PopCap games to be loved in this corner of the world (eastern Europe). It infected everyone's computers and it captured the minds and hearts of every father that owned a PC. Zuma is the Mayan End of the Gaming World. And it's fucking good at it too 😂 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now, for a different topic - because of Microsoft's decision to nuke the X360 store, I will have to admit, even I got abit worried for the future of PS3, especially since Sony tried that before. So, to finally be done with this system, I decided to focus a liiiitle bit more on the games I have left to play on the PS3. Therefore, in order of importance: PS3 RETIREMENT PARTY Or basically, games that I DEFINITELY need to finish on the PS3: Ricochet HD - This is a "brick breaker" game and a childhood favorite. I bought it a long while ago, but never got to play it. It's finally time to tackle this one (plus, it has some sub 1% rarity trophies and I am intrigued) Puss in Boots - a gift from my dear sister who challenged me to finish this game. I sure hope it's good! Zuma - In order to honor my father (he is still alive he just played this game until he busted a mouse and 2 keyboards) I take it upon my task to finish the game too. Not sure if I love or hate the game, will see when I start it 😂 DoA5 Last Round/DoA5 Ultimate - because let's be honest, you never have enough bouncy physics on your profile. Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax - because...it's...uhm... a fighting game. Like I need another reason lol Koihime Enbu something something I need to find the translation - see above Wet - gun akimbo with a sexy lady. Sold! Risen 2 Dark Waters - I can't let @rjkclarke be the sole Eurojank pistolero around here, so I need to grab the series as well, especially since the first one is already available on the PS4. I sure hope my PS3 can handle this one though, Pirahna Bytes games aren't for the faint of hardware. X Blades/Blades of Time - Some classic tomb raiding with a heroine that is DEFINITELY not equipped for tomb raiding. Still going to play it! Castlevania Lords of Shadows2/Mirror of Fate HD - because @AihaLoveleaf loves to Miku torture me. Mirror's Edge - Boy do I hope I can FINISH this damn game! Not having my hopes up but at least I will be motivated enough to accomplish this impossible feat! and finally...last and definitely least.. Catherine - one day I'll probably overdose on chocolate and grapes (I like the fruits!) and finish this atrocity of a game. Catherine is definitely the one game I want to get rid of, but playing it is the equivalent of kidney stoning myself. Soo....these are the games I have in mind. If anyone else thinks I should add any other game, hit me up. Will see if the suggestion is good or I report you for bad words, like Castlevania Lords of Shadows 2 or Final Fantasy 😂 Edited December 24, 2023 by Copanele

Also I had to TURN my character like a damn freight ship because locking on wasn't a thing back then! ( I don't have many hopes for Risen's combat tho 😂) Will definitely shoot a tag when I get to it, but first I need to play Risen 1 on PS4. Hope it's patched up by now! Popular Post Copanele
No. 245 - Xenon Racer Platinum Name - Xenon Champion Hardest Trophy - Faster than the wind - achieve Gold on all Time Trials - yep that Tokyo Skyscrapers map was fun! Difficulty - 4/10 I will use this opportunity to give a shoutout to @Yuber6969: He has the drive and motivation to go after event-based games, no matter how weird or out of his comfort zone the game is. Some suck, some are awesome, but man is he motivated. I, unfortunately, can't accomplish the same feat because when I play a game with the intention of completing an event task, I automatically lose my motivation, even if the game is good. I can't stop but wonder "damn, would I have bothered with this without that event?" And then, on top of that, there's those games where I can't tell if I liked it or not. Such a game is Xenon Racer The first thing I can say about Xenon Racer is...yep, it's a racing game. Arcade Racing Game, to be more specific, here you compete with others on Xenon-fuelled cars, in order to prove that four wheel racing is still cool. This is the premise of the game, set in 2030, where flying cars slowly overtake the more conventional means of transportation and the ground-stuck cars are slowly becoming obsolete. That is an interesting take on the whole racing spectrum, it is a different kind of motivation that I did not expect to find in a racing game. But....then you see the cars One of the possible Xenon cars I know design is subjective but man, do the cars look ugly in this game 😂they have this mix of futuristic look with modern design that just doesn't jam. Personally I wouldn't drive one of these based only on aesthetics alone. In terms of controls....in the beginning, the cars control like crap. Legit wheelbarrows on wheels. You will take every corner with the help of the fence, you won't be able to steer at all, you'll feel like a 17th century sloop trying to avoid the pirates, just on the road. Add in the fact that your car has a health bar, which will reset your car if it reaches 0, meaning you will lose your placement compared to the others that drive at 500km/h, and you'll have a whole lot of trouble on your hands. I'd say the part I disliked the most was the beginning of the game: even on easy difficulty, the AI will kick your ass. The AI drives IMPECCABLE - no cut corners, no wall hits, no damage taken. Or at least, the top 3 in any race, you will struggle for your life to catch them. Worst part, in order to get the parts that would upgrade your car, you need to defeat them first. A very weird difficulty spike which I can't say I enjoyed. You do have a unique mechanic, a sort of "booster" that will give an extra oomph to your car, which you can fill either by driving over energy pads or drifting (Crash Team Racing style), but the AI can do that too, and you'll soon see how the AI will overtake you even if you are boosting from all cylinders. But then after you defeat the AI...you unlock cars. And there's one particular car, the WP-01, that absolutely trivializes the game. Like even on hard this time, you will SMOKE the fools, especially after you upgrade it It's such a weird balance between borderline stupid and borderline braindead, that constantly confused me. SPEED The graphics....look nice. The tracks are pretty decent, with no insanely tricky corners. The music - pretty energic, but not too adrenaline inducing. The cars sound like my wife's hairdryer. And...that's probably my biggest gripe with the game. IT JUST IS. It does its job. It's a functional racing game, but you're probably forget about it the moment you're done with the plat. Nobody plays it online, most people go after Wipeout instead. So for now, I will recommend it, but only if you catch it at a serious discount. Maybe someone more inclined towards the racing genre can offer further insight ( @Destructor-8 comes to mind, his time trials videos show that he knows his stuff in this game), but for now, I can't say this game can even touch Blur in terms of epicness. Or Garfield Furious Kart in terms of "hair loss". But it is still a functional chill racing game, if that's what you look for THE GOOD: It does convey the speed feeling Doesn't take too much of your time Rather chill for a racing game THE BAD: Ugly cars The constant on and off the main menu - every time you finish a race you get sent back to the main menu Random difficulty spikes Doesn't do anything remarkable in its genre RECOMMENDATION - Blur Not sure if the plat is still obtainable, but man this game was fire on the PS3. Tons of game modes, power ups, personalized cars...Blur was the good stuff! Edited September 20, 2023 by Beyondthegrave07 Edited
