Popular Post Crispy_Oglop
I'm gonna use my second swap and pull Titanfall 2 out, it was a fun game but I don't think I have the patience to do the Gauntlet trophy and go back into replaying chapters for combat trophies. I've replaced it with Oxenfree instead, which is a pace of game my brain needs now after NieR. Happy Saturday everyone! Popular Post DizzyDavidson
Update: Bound By Flame [PS3] - 100% Eat Them! Tho not that far from it. Story was alright, got a bit dark towards the final two acts. The character fits the game well but Max sometimes just feels like a selfish prick. I get that he's hardened by the world and he's lost everything, I'm just not a huge fan of it, but like I said it fits. It's been quite some time since I've seen the movies, I can't remember to compare. There are a couple of problems with the game too, like framerate drops, most cars handling like shit or while fighting a group of people someone always comes punching you from off screen. With all that being said I would very much like a sequel or something. I really like the world of Mad Max. I have about 130-140 scavenging locations to clean up. I'm gonna play a bit more tonight but I'm sure no more trophies will come of it. The rest will have to be done next week. After that I'll be down to my last game, How to Survive 2. That game can take up to 100 hrs or more and there aren't many guides out there for it. It might be a tight fit but I'll try to squeeze it into the remaining time. I'll have to go slow at it first. I'm not 100% in the mood for playing it, just hoping it will click with me and suck me right in early on (I did enjoy the first game which is why I got the second). Other Happenings: I came down with a pretty bad cold this week so that halted my progress in gaming a bit. Thankfully I'm mostly out of it and I picked up some of the slack on the weekend. Managed to score a bag of Skylanders for $4. It included a bunch of crystals for Trap Team, that will really come in handy when I get to it. Driveclub is going slow but steady, this game will most likely decide if I want to sign up for next season's challenge. I would like to complete everything in it before the server shutdown (end of March) but if it takes me till the last moment then I'll lose a whole month and I won't be able to fully commit. Popular Post Crispy_Oglop
Early week update with Platinum number 133 - Oxenfree This was a surprisingly good 2D side-scrolling story adventure and it came with an 80's vibe as well. The characters were all really well developed and believable in the context of the supernatural events going on around them. This one required a few playthroughs but none of them felt like a chore because you would learn a little more about each character depending on the alternate conversation options that you chose. I really like the art style in the pre-rendered backgrounds, it almost felt like really well produced concept art with some clearer elements like paths and objects thrown in. The music was really really great too, with lots of 80's style ambience, even a few tracks that sounded alot like a John Carpenter movie or two. All in all, a great little game! Not sure I can actually make the big defensive castle I wanted, since enemies don't attack in the sandbox mode... Do love it basically being Minecraft + RPG + tower defense, though. Much more my taste. Started Adventures of Mana, looks nice but definitely shows its old roots. 16 item inventory might just kill me - the only things that stack come in stacks, and those won't pile up either. Since there wasn't a trophy for doing the game on Hard mode, I think I was able to enjoy myself just a little bit more. Even the combat challenges aren't as brutal as the last game, and have more of a flow to them once you figure it out. The Predator maps, on the other hand, have gone in the opposite direction. Like in the last game, all the maps are taken from the main game, just with conditions that need to be met. Most of the conditions aren't that bad (kick a goon off a balcony, bomb a wall next to a goon, use a certain gadget on a goon, ECT), but some of them really make the challenge harder then they need to be. However, most of the ones I could think of that are really hard to do are the Extreme variants of the map, so I guess you get what you ask for. The only map that I would call completely unfair would be Top of the World, mostly due to the fact that it's the smallest map with very few places to hide and some strict conditions. There is a balcony that I found where you can cheese the stage with Bat-a-rangs, but Catwoman still needs to be stealthy in the stage. It's much worse when you have to do them for the Campaign mode, which is the mix of Combat and Predator challenges with added conditions I bitched about last time. So far, I've beaten all of Batman's challenges (duh) and got all of Catwoman's Ranked Medals. I just need to get 45 more Campaign Medals for Catwoman, 39 Ranked Medals and 54 more Campaign Medals for Robin, and I need to start Nightwing's challenges. Written out, it doesn't look like much, but this is still going to take a few days. Slow and steady. I'm a bit biased as he is my favourite DC character in the Batman family - but the Nightwing challenges were my favourite out of them all. I would love a Nightwing focused game with Arkham gameplay. Are you planning on going for Arkham Knight at some point? That one is a beast to get to 100% and it actually beat me in the end - specifically the community challenge DLC and still something i never managed to do. Here's hoping that you get your wish with Arkham Insurgency or Court of Owls or whatever they are calling the new game. Yeah, I was planing to do Arkham Knight sometime this year, but definitely not any time soon. I took a look at the trophy list when I fist got the game and saw there was 110 trophies for the game and like 16 DLC with trophies (granted 10 or 11 of them just have one trophy but still), so I'm a little intimidated by it. The Community Challenge Pack pretty much sounds like what I'm already doing with the "Riddler's Revenge" challenges since it has trophies that prevent you from using gadgets, not take any damage, and only using beat downs. I bought the season pass back when it was on sale due to the main game being free on PS+, so whenever I want to start, I can at the very lest do a big chunk of it.

Popular Post StilRh
Finished River City Girls. I had a bug which required me to restart and do half a playthrough again for some collectables but it didn't take me too long. I'm not usually one for brawlers but humour was on point, excellent music and presentation and a fun and pretty engrossing fighting system. I had a few crashes (which caused me to put in on hold some months ago) and bugs but overall, a great palate cleanser game. I've played some more Criminal Girls, my vita ran out of battery which caused me to focus on River City Girls, else I'd think I'd have gotten the plat by now. It feels so nice to get some gaming time in after some big crunches at work, really excited about getting more of my list done but I doubt I'll complete them all before the end of the challenge (18/41 games completed with 6 weeks to go!), looking at trailers for this year I want to buy off list games but I'll wait for the challenge to be over. Popular Post Crispy_Oglop
A tiny, ever so small, mini and microscopic bit of progress from me tracking in with a whole 4% of progress in Pillars of Eternity. This basically translates to - I made some tasty potions and a few scrolls, and started to invest in building out my keep. This game isn't a super realised AAA standard game but it's had a weird effect on me in that i'm filling gaps in the game world with my own little stories and bits of dialogue as I play. It gives you just enough of a cue with NPC dialogue and visual storytelling. I play alot of tabletop roleplay (D&D, Cyberpunk, Tales from the Loop etc) so it's really feeding into that part of me too. It's also really doing a good job of unlocking some old memories from when i was in my 20's and played Baldur's Gate for the first time. It's like a bridge between my older, more tired self and my teenage self, dredging up some serious nostalgia moments. I'm in a contemplative mood right now so i'll stop before i start getting carried away. I will probably have some whiskey while playing this over the weekend and i'll keep myself away from posting contemplation flavoured status updates here too to spare you all Control Wolfenstein Youngblood Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan Yakuza 3 Remaster Borderlands 3 MediEvil Tacoma The Outer Worlds Yakuza 4 Remaster Death Stranding Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order NieR: Automata Oxenfree Pillars of Eternity 4% Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire - 0% Subnautica - 0% Moons of Madness - 0% Dragonball Z: Kakarot - 0% Journey to the Savage Planet - 0% Edited January 15, 2020 by Crispy_Oglop
