Popular Post Briste
Been busy at work so haven't really had a chance to update since the beginning of November. Been pretty productive as far as knocking off a few things without adding anything new Knocked out Alice: Madness Returns, Darkest Dungeon, Final Fantasy VIII, The Order: 1886, The Wolf Among Us (Vita), and VR Karts. I almost bought the second one pre-emptively like you too but the latest DLC that popped up really recently held me back, I might wait for an all-in-one package once they have released what they need to. Code Vein is another one i'm interested in, so many games, so little time. When i was a kid, I had no money but I had time. Now i'm an adult it's the other way around. 31 minutes ago, freddie1989 said: It is really good fun and visually really good etc. I have never played the Souls series so the gameplay for me is a nightmare to get used to. When it works, it's some of the most fulfilling stuff i've done in a video-game, but when it doesn't it's infuriating. Not sure when I'm going to fit them in though, still got 2 titles left on my backlog challenge, and I was hoping to play BL3 and Ryza before the FFVII Remake and P5R
Popular Post ZachGM91
Happy new year, everyone. I didn't do anything off my list while my family was here. I mostly just played games that my nephew wanted to play and played Kingdom Hearts II to end the year off. Now that everyone has gone home, I've thrown myself into Arkham City. Batman: Arkham Asylum (PS4): 100% Batman: Arkham City (PS4): 0%➡️75% Brave: 0% Caveman Warriors: 100%Chroma Squad: 100%Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition: 100%Degrees of Separation: 100%✅Detroit: Become Human: 100%Fear Effect Sedna: 100%Iconoclasts: 100%✅Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep (PS3): 100% Minecraft: Story Mode (PS4) 100%Murdered: Soul Suspect (PS4): 100% Okage: Shadow King: 0%Outlast 2: 52% Plants vs Zombies (PS3): 61%➡️100%✅ Rayman Origins (PS3): 100% The Coma: Recut: 100%✅ Arkham City is a much improved game compared to Asylum. That's not to say that Asylum was bad, but any complaints I had with that game were improved on in City. The fighting is tighter, the map is more fun to traverse now that it's truly open, and the boss fights had more variety (i.e. they gave us more then Bane's "make 'em run into a wall" boss). I even enjoyed playing as Catwoman for as little as you do. That being said, it's still not perfect. For one thing, the story is just alright. It starts out good but as the game goes along, it starts to get muddy and I'm pretty sure that the main plot got dropped the moment the Joker was introduced. We had this great story about putting most of Gotham's criminals in one place and Hugo Strange being the bad guy, and it was shaping up to be an interesting story inspired by No Man's Land, but when Batman is poisoned, it just becomes a background event that rarely gets mentioned. It got so bad that Alfred had to say, "Finish the plot we started before the game ends." My second problem was the Riddler trophies. The first game had a small enough map that it didn't feel like a hasel to backtrack when you needed a new gadget and had the Riddler Maps to help narrow down what you're missing. Here, we have a giant world where trophies and riddles are hidden everywhere. You're more likly to find a trophy that you can do right now or can't figure out, mark on your map, and leave it for later, only to forget which question mark on your map it was. It also doesn't help that the Riddler maps were replaced with undercover Riddler goons that only give you a handful of random areas that have the riddles, trophies, or breakable objects. I was missing a few trophies in the Steel Mill and had to search all over the city to find one who would know since they just randomly appear. In truth, I would call it the "Spider-Man 2 for Batman," since it made me feel more like Batman then the other game did. Gliding across rooftops, taking out baddies from the ground. Honestly, I had fun even outside of side missions and the main game. I just hope Arkham Knight keeps the progress going. Now that my thoughts of the game are over, I can say that I really didn't think this through when I picked this game. I realized last night that I have to do the Predator and Combat medals again, only this time I have to do it fourfold. Not only do I have to do it with Batman, but I have to do it with Catwoman, Robin, and Knightwing too, since DLC counts for this challenge. I don't think it would be all that bad if it wasn't for the limiters they make you put on and the fact that they are all gauntlets. This is going to take some time, but I believe I can do it eventually.

Popular Post JayDeLosDioses
Hellow Jay-Nanigans, I've played 75% of the Deponia games from the Collection over the extended weekend (national holiday on Monday) - not that it matters, since I'm still on sick leave this week. Only Deponia Doomsday left to plat. I played them on PC three or four times already so I know them pretty good by now. But I admit I used a guide for the trophies just to be sure to get them. There's no chapter select in the games and spending another 3 - 6h is something I tried to avoid. I'm also playing Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 and I have to agree with @HaserPL who, iirc, ranted a bit about Lego Batman 3. I don't enjoy this game a bit, and the only reason I'm playing it any longer is because of the challenge. The story missions are short, boring, and missing the usual humour of LEGO games. Imho the non-synchro LEGO games are superior to every newer game. LEGO Star Wars 1 - 6 anyone? The decision to unlock things by doing challenges in the open world instead of simply collecting character tokens is beyond me. It's not marked on the map - and I'm not going to blindly fly through the map to find them. So I'm going to use a guide when I'm doing those. Overall there's way to much open world shit to do, if I want to play an open world game I don't buy LEGO games ffs. And then there's the DLC, I haven't started any of them yet, but if I'm not mistaken it's the same as in Batman - one short level with trophies for 100% it and one misc for the open world. 710 / 910 trophies unlocked, so I'm 200 short, half of those 200 coming from AC3 and the mentioned LEGO game. I'm confident that I can finish this in time, but I'm about to start a Factorio game with a friend of mine who recently bought it ... That's all from me Spoiler Health update for anyone who cares: I can feel a bit more in my arm after the surgery now, but not as much as before. At least it's not dead anymore I guess. Next check-up is in 3 weeks.

So I'm hoping the same patch will be released for the ps4 and fix the issue. Got some progress in My Time at Portia, the crafting still drives me insane but I do enjoy the game overall. Finished the story in God of War and just can't bring myself to continue with it right now. I hope to pick it up soon again. Got one more week of intense studying for finals and after that I'm hoping I'll get some more game time in! It's great to follow everyone's progress here!

Popular Post StilRh
Mid week update. Mostly on criminal girls. I've reached the end of the game, going through individual character endings and after that will complete the post game stuff. I'm told I have 10-15 hours to go for the plat so I'll try and knock it out this week, but with work being as busy as it is, it might not be completed until next week. Mucked around briefly on Ace Attorney too, I think that will be something I'll try and finish in January. I would have had the platinum yesterday but had some real trouble trying to repeat the requirements to get the only missable ending in the game, it kept glitching multiple times. Popular Post Crispy_Oglop
End-of-week update time, coming in with Platinum number 132 - NieR:Automata This game absolutely rocked and I'm so happy I got to play it finally. With the exception of some hassle getting the 'Head[Y] Battle' ending, all 73 hours 23 mins of my play-time saw me through a nearly flawless experience. I'm really taken with this game, I went into it not having any clue what to expect and it completely captivated me from start to finish, I really hope we get another game soon enough. I'm also considering dusting off my PS3 (even though i committed to keeping it in it's display case forever now) to play the previous game. In the meantime I made a start on Master difficulty in Titanfall 2, which is already looking like another game I'm going to be annoyed at myself for not playing sooner. First of all, a (late) happy new year to all of you!! I just wanted to let you know that I'm still alive and active on this challenge I see you've all been pretty productive with your list the past month, in contrast to myself. I did complete Rime at the beginning of December but due to my finals, I've not been able to complete anything else after that. I'm trying to slip in some gaming time in between my study sessions but I usually don't get much more than 1 hour every other day out of it. Which is fine though, school has priority of course but I would have preferred some more progress on my list as well. Anyway, here's what I did manage to do since the last update: Rime Completed this one a month back already but didn't really find the time to report on it. What a beautiful game though! It did often remind me a lot of Journey, which is one of my favourite games of all time. I really enjoy adventure puzzle games a lot on their own and when you add a beautiful score and some stunning visuals like this game has to it then I'm completely sold! I'm also someone who prefers to do a blind playthrough first, especially with these kinds of games so it was nice to see that none of the trophies that I initially missed were too much of a pain to get afterwards due to chapter select and some useful video guides. Overall quite a gem of a game that I would recommend to anyone who's also into the puzzle genre. Other games Didn't really have that much time to play after completing Rime as stated earlier, but the time I had was (mainly) spent on 3 tiltles: Far cry primal, Horizon Zero Dawn and The witcher 3: Wild Hunt (not on my list). I started with far cry primal but I just can't get into this one for some reason, never been a big fan of the far cry games anyway. I also noticed that I'm on 49 plats atm, which is why I decided to switch over to Herizon Zero Dawn which I want to become my 50th platinum! What a fantastic game this is, I've noticed all the hype before playing it but even then it surpassed my expections. I usually tend to get bored in open world games quite easily but Horizon has managed to keep me interested every single second so far, which is saying a lot, believe me ^^. I've been playing some The witcher 3 as well the past week (since watching the Netflix series stimulated me to pick it up again). Enjoying that one quite a lot as well and I'm definitely thinking about putting it on my list for the spring challenge, even though it will probably take me 3 months to complete that one on its own . We'll see how it goes, let's try to focus on my current list first, I'm just really hoping to get Horizon done by the end of the challenge. Wishing you all good fortune with your games (and everything else) in 2020!! See you guys soon. Okay strategy games completed! Both were actually really good I knew I was going to love The Banner Saga, the art is fantastic the story and atmosphere are beautiful with this ever present sense of sadness, and the combat and gameplay was really fun especially during the harder playthrough when I really had to think about management and do I go with morals or survival, this was one I had been meaning to get to but just didn’t have the time hopefully I can get to 2 and 3 faster. Shadow Tactis I went into it a bit blind, I like the setting and I like stealth games but that was all I knew about it when I had bought it and the achievements that I read outside of spoilers looked very manageable so I was surprised by the story of the game and I was also into having to plan out my strategy of which route would be the best course of action. Also thank god for the speed run exploit, I don’t normally can get through them but I like taking my time when it comes to stealth. Popular Post Geridian
Hello all, I hope that all of you had a good start in year 2020 in terms of RL and gaming. For myself the first two weeks where not the best: Spoiler I have had some problems with the Eustachian tube for more than 2 years, causing a constant ringing in the left ear. I've already had surgery, but it didn't work. Due to my constantly high blood pressure (I am being treated for it) it is not getting any better. At work I am part of a "team", but at the end of the day I am only good for the dirty work that nobody wants and to make my team "look good" through my work (and the overtime). I am just so sick of it all. The only positive thing is that everything goes well in the family and I can keep my fun when playing games. But hey, enough from me. It is time for progress report.. which is for real only done in one game: ? Spoiler The car trips could be combined with some small activities or going to the toilet, later when the skills were developed enough I only used Fast Travel. The fighting system is limited to holding the circle key and giving direction (I'm surprised that nobody complains about this simplicity, because with the old ATB many people thought it was just button smashing. Keeping the circle button is definitely no improvement), but it looks good what the player is offered visually. Unfortunately the whole story around Ardyn, which is told from chapter 12 on and at the end of chapter 13, seems like the wholeproduction team got so lost in the "Open World design" that they didn't even think about developing a basis for the final story. In my opinion a low point in the long line of Final Fantasy games. Just the need for additional media to explain the story - a movie, an anime series and four story DLCs - says a lot about the fact that the whole result presented to the player was finished in a hurry. Instead of spending 10+ years from 2006 to 2016 on the mangling of different story pieces, they should have simply made a cut here. ==> With Duke Nukem Forever, the world could already see that even after 14 years of development time, only trash comes out. The term "vaporware" does exist for a reason. Story DLCs (Gladiolus, Ignis, Prompto, Ardyn): This was a mix. Spoiler Episode Gladiolus was okay and enjoyable (I like Cor and his story, also the battle music was a nice one), Episode Ignis was also okay (Yes, i cheesed Noct but it was not forced: While I fought him normally under the gas station's rooftop but he got stuck on the roof and I trashed him like described in the guides.) Episode Prompto was just awful but short which made it playable. Episode Ardyn finally offered some background story which had to be included in the maingame! Royal Pack: Spoiler Omega was fun, got him first try with the known "Armiger Unleashed"-tactic and switching to Prompto sometimes. Regalia Type-D stuff was fun. "Royal vessel" stuff was fun. "Pursuit of Knowledge" was only present to make it necessary for the player to deal with some small bits of the endgame content, which was never necessary for pure platinum. Comrades: Surprisingly, I really like Comrades! Spoiler I am following this well written guide "FAQ/Walkthrough by Die" which I found on gamefaqs here and are just wondering why nobody wrote something about it in the trophy boards. Actually I am about 17 hours in it (some many hours are just on the counter because I had some major RL interruptions while letting my character stay in Lestallum). Playing on Comrades 1.0-version (Which is FF XV version 1.18) atm to make the best out of some bugs present in this version. Where so lucky yesterday to get Cidney and Cid to cook for me, also managed to get Cids 30% buff version. Both buffs are resting on alts for usage on demand. Also the "Nest Manager" cooked for me yesterday. You just have to get lucky with this one. I encountered him after finishing the mission "Roboresurrection" with me and the bots just carrying low level ingredients. Until later, have fun Edited January 11, 2020 by Geridian
