Should I wait to buy this game? I don't want to get it if many of the trophies are buggy? Any advice is appreciated.

Avoid glitched trophies on ps5 - DIRT5 - PSNProfiles

Just finished getting the Platinum for this game and had some glitches but I think generally the bigger ones have been patched out? Or at least, not experienced as much.

For example:

I did have a few glitched trophies, that I know of. These were the Livery and Player Card trophies that didn't unlock when I did the requirements. As I had read before starting the game though, generally just restarting the game and doing it again fixes it and it did. Shortly after I then unlocked the cash trophy, so that potentially could have been glitched too until I restarted and finished an event but I can't be certain on that one. Then later on, I went to do the two Playground trophies and again, they didn't unlock. A quick restart and redo then fixed it.

I maybe potentially could have had more glitch out if it wasn't for me quitting the game every so often as to backup my save data when I just had one last Throwdown to unlock haha. Then I figured I may as well carry that on and backed up my save before doing the final career events too, just in case.

As for general glitches, I thankfully didn't have many crashes during my playthrough, only two, so as said, maybe it's been patched and now doesn't happen so often. However, I did have one slightly annoying glitch that kept reoccurring that I hadn't actually read about, and that was getting stuck after an event. (Not sure if I got stuck at the end of the credits too haha... But it wasn't doing anything so I restarted the game.)

Basically, when you're supposed to get your XP and rewards etc at the end of an event, it'll be stuck before you get them. You can tell when this is about to happen as after showing the podium, the camera then goes close to your car and usually in the bottom right, will have a retry button prompt first. However when this glitch happens, you'll have a proceed/continue button prompt instead. Pressing it does nothing and maybe I should have waited longer, but nothing seemed to happen. So that would result in having to restart the game and going back on. Due to this, I felt the need to write down the events it happened on, in case the trophy for completing all events didn't unlock by the end of the career. Thankfully though, they all still did count when this glitch happened and I got the trophy still.

This glitch would end up happening a total of 11 times throughout my playthrough but part way through, I found a different way out of it that avoided having to restart the game, and that's by using that card feature. I'm not sure the proper name for it, but if you press the PS button, you get a list of things for the game. You can go on one and press square to "resume" and it'll load straight into that and you'll be out of the stuck state.

Thought I'd share the info just in case anyone else gets this issue, although maybe it has already been mentioned but I just never saw them posts myself haha. Sorry if so but either way, the game still has its fair share of issues unfortunately.

This post for sure!

Again thanks for posting this. Made a cloud save on the last showdown event and thanks to the cloud save I was able to get the trophy as it glitched the first time. Only lost 20minutes thanks to that

@seblegamer I think it's a problem with the PS5 system because these kind of glitches are frequent also in other games and it's pretty random. It happens with the "cumulative tasks" type of trophies. It looks like the PS5 trophy progress tracking is at fault. Sometimes the counter gets stuck and you have to reset the PS5 to make it work again. It's what happened to me recently with Destruction Allstars. Now, not every game allows you to see your trophy progress, but the principle is the same, just the counter isn't visible for you. If you want to unlock the glitched trophy you need to repeat certain actions that trigger the progress counter. Like for example replaying a part of the chapter in order to get a "complete chapter" trophy. It's what helps 99% of the time from what I've seen so far. This can't be a coincidence. It's most likely Sony that needs to take care of this.

I think it's not from Sony side, but more on developers' side.

For example Worms Rumble, a lot of trophies are glitched on PS5, impossible to get ! Even if you redo it again and again and again, nothing progress and no trophy unlock :/

I just launched the game and checked it is in 3.00 version.

The Throwdown trophy poped right after I started without even running a race \o/

Still reports of the Gymkhana trophy not popping.  Game is still a stuttering mess.  The frequent crashes are back.  Maybe the next update in two months will be the one that finally fixes this mess.

And I was finally hopeful. Was going to pick this game up after the update but might have to wait again. Or will just play on PC, dunno.

I just got Dirt 5, played it for the first time today and I'm a bit confused...

Why is the game lagging so much on PS5? Why can't I change the music? Why are there no Polish subtitles?

I feel like I just travelled back in time. Motorstorm on PSP didn't have any of these issues and it's a game from 2009.

I'd also want to add, they are not adding the Mileage/KM tracker this update, but in the future (I asked on Discord) but there will be a RaceNet update where you can log in and can see the miles.

I am now very curious about this mileage tracker through RaceNet. Anyone knows if it's available and where can I check it? I only find community stats when I log on RaceNet.

Apparently they haven’t added D5 into the Racenet update yet. I asked their community manager how to keep track of the miles and he replied that, aside from the mileage tracker in the future, the racenet thing should do the trick.. I guess not. Either way, I got the trophy now. If it’s the 1k miles you’re after the easiest way is to rubberband it through “Playgrounds”. Should take 4-5 hours. Refresh every 30/40 min (so end the race through the finish line and repeat)
