I really don't get people who buy these games for platinums. At least for me, my trophy log is for the most part a journal of experiences I've had, and there's a few regrets there from when I've indulged myself for competitions (Pox Nora, Monster Jam Steel Titans) but for the most part I'm pretty proud of the games I have on my profile.

Like, what do you get from looking at your profile and seeing three of... this game... there? More a mark of shame than anything, if it were my profile.

Fully agreed. I like to look at profiles to get an idea of someone's tastes, experience or skill level, and it's always disappointing to instead see a stack of 1/10s lined up from top to bottom. I usually learn almost nothing about the player unless they have some really sick trophies on the right side of their page.

Even as someone who has given in to being a "dirty farmer" in a competitive online game with similar opportunities to collect "big numbers with little effort" I can't see myself giving in to this playstyle. Nobody would take my profile seriously and I probably wouldn't take it seriously myself at that point.

Serious question - how does people expressing their opinions on this game affect you? Are you forced to read them? No. Does us posting our opinions stop other threads from being made? No. If you find opinions offensive (snowflake time) then does it being on the forum make you angry? It really shouldn't...

I can see why people might be annoyed with threads like these. When every fourth active thread among the game boards is complaining about easy plats and every easy plat thread has the same people repeating the same arguments (before clicking on the thread, I made an informal bet in my head that I'd see Spaz being displeased within five posts of the start)....it can get a tad grating. I'm not particularly put out by these threads, though. I'm guilty of providing the same "it's hurting no body" argument every other go around.

So, question. Ignoring the trophy set up, are these games actually good? I likes me some GameBoy-ish graphics.

From someone who also enjoyed GameBoy games, definitely not. I only bothered to watch the first story, but the games have no combat and have less than 10 minutes of playable content each.

Oh, lovely. It's not even trying to pretend it's not a cash-in.

Make no mistake, I doubt God, or any deity for that matter, would approve of these low effort games made to presumably “lead people” to them.

That being said, my dislike of these (and similar low effort games like Alien Destroyer) stems mainly from the fact that they cater exclusively to two groups:

1) Trophy hunters with addictive traits that value their leadboard ranking and number of Platniums over actually enjoying most of the games they play.

and

2) Gullible casual gamers (and children) with little money who might buy these mistaking them for enjoyable games for a budget price and then have no recourse to get their money back from Sony when they play them and realize they are shovelware.

Also, while these games don’t stop other games from being released, they DO flood the “new releases” section and make finding quality indie titles harder.

If I could blacklist games by a certain publisher on this site or the official PS Store, I’d likely complain about them a lot less.

(Side note: Throwing around the term “snowflake” doesn’t add credibility to your argument. Quite the opposite, actually).

Clearly there is a market for it so get over yourselves.

There’s a market for heroin, sex slaves, child-porn and Avatar movies too.

That doesn’t mean people aren’t entitled to discuss why they’re bad.

Except there is nothing bad about this just because you don't like it. Also, the same people complain about it week in and week out. How many times do you have to have the same discussion? It's not going away so you're wasting your time

I'm genuinely surprised that no matter how low the standards go. There are people who defend the absolute bottom of the barrel.

But yeah, as Sn1per666999 says, try selling those games as Playstation Minis without trophies. Then we'll see how popular they are.

lol. I am pretty sure there is no limit. Imagine if we lived in a world where we were only about allowed to complain about something, only once.

So pretty much anyone in the top 5k on the leaderboards yeah?

Also, it is quite interesting to see a number of people complain about games like this, having a whole bunch of 90%+ games on their profile.

Yup, and I'll waste more of it. :dunno:

I might be wasting a little of my time tilting at these particular windmills - that's true -  but it pales in comparison to the time being wasted by anyone who plays this, or who tries to craft a profile on the back of these kind of games.

Personally I don’t think a real-life religion should be on the front cover of the game or actively promoting it. Same with politics.

I don’t want any games on the PlayStation Store which tries to win players over for a given religion. They should be free of that stuff. Christianity’s already present in music, movies and TV shows, I believe that is quite enough already.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got nothing against christianity, but there’s no place for it in video games.

I bet if it was a game advertising a different religion (like Islam) you’d be singing a different tune entirely.

This is a bullshit statement.

Religion and politics have already been put in video games and it's been that way for a very long time. Even if you go back to the NES and Super NES days there were a few games (Bible Adventures for the NES) that took pages from the Bible itself.

Assassin's Creed is a franchise still being developed by people of different beliefs and cultures, they already took from religions like Islam and Christianity and practically did their own twist.

If you don't want that kind of stuff there are plenty of games out there you can play that don't cover any sort of politics or religion at all.

I don't care what religion is being advertised as long as there's a good reason for doing it and the game developers want to put their own angle in telling their stories for the games. This game in particular I mostly see as easy trophy whore bait that has almost no real gameplay whatsoever.

I get what you’re saying, but case of Assassin’s Creed is totally different because it transforms an existing religion into something fictional.

I don’t mind when games have elements of religion included at all, but when it’s the point of the whole game it’s a step too far in my opinion.

But yeah, you’re right about the trophy bait part. The first game in the Breakthrough “series” didn’t include a platinum, and probably no one bought it. Now they’ve been including a platinum in all of their games and tapped into the trophy market. All for the glory of Jesus Christ...Something about this feels icky to me.
