Third game done! It feels like every single "creature collecting" game I play follows the same formula: I have a great time exploring the overworld, then a battle begins and immediately I'm reminded why the genre has been synonymous with "Pokemon" for 25 years. It almost doesn't matter how much better you can make the out-of-battle experience if the battle mechanics themselves (not to mention the creature designs) can't keep up with Pokemon, and to date I haven't played a single game that could on either front. At least Monster Sanctuary innovates by turning the game into a 2D platformer, and giving your monsters plenty of out-of-battle abilities analogous to more standard metroidvania upgrades (and/or a natural evolution of the HM system from older Pokemon games). The game ends up in this awkward spot where I'd be happy recommending it as a metroidvania, but quite a bit less so as a teambuilding-focused RPG.

So I found this adorable cat game while I was perusing the store wondering what to spend my gift cards on and it turns out it was a 0 so that happened. It was a very relatable game, having two cats myself. Normally I don't care for Rata games but look at that; I got two on my list now. I just couldn't pass them up with how cute the animals are.

 

I was going to do Uncharted but then I thought no it's ok, this way I don't have to rush or anything because I still have to do a whole crushing playthrough while following a collectibles guide. It can stay in the backlog for now though I would like to complete it soon especially because it's still on my list for another event I've all but given up on lol.

 

I also managed to finish Death's Door despite some initial annoyance using just the umbrella weapon. And then some later trouble because there was one late boss that was a problem until I figured out their attack pattern wasn't as difficult to avoid as I thought it was. Good thing too because the final boss uses a variation of the same move. A little tricky, and I'm not a huge fan of this type of game but it did have some neat ideas and I was glad there was a nice YouTube guide available because I always get lost when there's no map in game and I hate feeling like I'm wasting my time going the wrong way. 

 

I'm not going to say what my next game is because last time I did so I ended up with something completely different and I have no idea what to work on next but I'm happy I'm so far along already.

Easy, fun game!  Nice for a kick ass afternoon while I contemplate which game to really sink my teeth into.

Just wrapped up the on Kena Bridge of Spirits!!! Wow did I love this game!! Not only was it such an homage to the PS2 era, but it was absolutely a Pixar movie but a game. So charming, beautifully animated, touching story, and fun gameplay. All of the puzzles felt manageable, and overall I really enjoyed the experience. Kena was a very special experience, and I am hopeful there is more to see from her in future games! Perhaps Ember Lab will be acquired by Sony for their talents in animation and cutscenes... time will tell! As for me, my next project will be Scarlet Nexus: the last PS5 game on my slate for the event! (Unless plans change)

Nice interactive game!  Nice puzzles and graphic were really good.  You could tell they put some effort into this game.

Did another short game for my #7. I'm always intrigued by these little puzzle games and the later levels of this one actually did confound me a little bit when you had to figure out how to change the vectors to hit the orbs. I'm proud to say I did it all legit, no guide but I did purposely wait a bit before popping the final trophy as I didn't want to lose the adorable cat image from Roll the Cat in my cabinet for fastest platinum.

I thought I would do a quick update post. Unfortunately, I haven't worked on the badges more. The company I work for suddenly ended their work from home program. There literally was no notice. So I've had to make some adjustments to my routines. I also got a new (used) laptop for personal use and I had too move a bunch of things over, install crap, and do updates etc. When I had free time, I just wanted to play games. I think you all can understand. The badge preview is coming soonish though.

 

 

I did a swap this week. Hades for Bound by Flame. This was unplanned. I started Bound by Flame randomly one night shortly before GBN began. I just wanted to wrap it up while I had the momentum going. I think it would have been hard to get myself to return back to it, since it was... not great. I did have some fun with it and there were some things that impressed me. But overall, I can't recommend it.

Well, since I learned that on Disgaea 6 there's a 4th difficulty (with new items for it), I gave up on completing the compendium and just decided to work on the platinum.. I'm also glad that I did it, since this means that I can start Soul Hackers 2 as soon as I get my copy (and, well, I will not have access to my PS5 from the 16th to the 28th, so if I didn't finish Disgaea before Monday, my plan could go out of the window…)

Finished 2 of my games

Disc Jam (Number 6) - 2/10, 3 hours. Some E-sport type game. Throwing discs and trying to score on the other side, but you have like 10 different ways to thow it, dodge stuff. Trophy wise comes down to 50 matchmaking wins and win a 4 player match ( 2 on each side, can be done in private matches ) Generally quite interesting game, was on Ps+, but seems the servers are shutting down on 30th September I believe.
Killzone Shadow Fall Intercept (Number 9), (standalone trophy list of the games dlc) 3/10, 5-6 hours I did in the dlc of Killzone + 2 hours of doing headshots in this standalone. This can be 100% autopopped if you got the requirements for these trophies back when you went for the dlc trophies. The new trophies are 250 kills with jetpack and 250 with minigun. AND 500 godamn headshots. Ofc this game has THE WORST headshot mechanics ever. If you are shooting while moving your bullets are curved in the side you are moving. Which makes headshots a real nightmare. Most people get 5 headshots per 30 minute match if they aren't going for them specifically. There is a good spot to grind them, but still a pain in the ass, Ngl. Overall doing the Co-op trophies was actually quite fun. NOTE: Servers going down for this in 2 days as well since you just connect to Shadow Fall servers in this standalone as well.
