Platinum #278: Final Fantasy XVI

This one is bitter-sweet. Sweet because Final Fantasy is my favorite series and a new one finally came out. Bitter because this is literally the first time I've ever finished a mainline FF game and never clicked with it. It was alright, maybe a 6-7/10...but the hard mode ("Final Fantasy" mode) took it down to a 4-5/10 fun factor. Damage sponge enemies that make every fight an eternity long is not fun. The game is meh through and through. Cool set pieces...but set pieces are for Call of Duty, not Final Fantasy. The story doesn't make any sense, the battle system screams "we desperately want American dude-bro's to buy our game" and overall I just feel like it's Final Fantasy in name only. The Norse God of War games are more RPG than this is. Clive has 3 stats that just go up linearly, Health, Attack and Defense. Anyway, done ranting. With this I'm done with the challenge this year. I could go for a 9 and 10, but I'd have to rush and I just changed jobs last week so Ima focus on work a bit more through the end of the year. I'll be content with 1.8 lists which is slightly better than my 1.7 lists completion from last year. Next year though I'm definitely aiming for 2 full lists!

Hmmm, I don’t think so, cause I can’t tell where that document got its ratings from or if they were just made by the document author. What game are you wanting to use the rating on it from? Maybe I can track down something.

@Yuber6969 Yeah I'm not sure where he got that 4/10 rating for Transformers Devastation. Lowest I can find is a 6. I'd say you could use it as a 6, 7, or 8, but not a 4 sorry man 😕 If you find a different guide that says 4 let me know. I'll keep looking too.

Haha, nice find, yeah, I knew something had to be up. But that's really on playstationtrophies.org cause there's a mod post on there saying it was stickied at one point and I'm surprised they'd sticky a guide from a person that didn't earn the platinum. Either way I think it's ok to count it. It's definitely an edge case, I just didn't wanna open up ratings to include random online excel documents claiming xyz difficulty.
