lady-reze
Happy new year everyone! I wasn't able to complete my rainbow last year due to being super busy towards the last half of 2023. ;c I'm going to try again this year! I look forward to seeing what everybody plays this year ^^

Popular Post ProfSeajay7
Progess: Red: Crime Secrets: Crimson Lily (PS5, 1/2/2023) Got the first slot on my card. Decided to get the Artifex Mundi game out of the way first and the main character in the PS5 game image is wearing a red coat so it fits the color. Some of these games won't platinumed until the summer(namely Donut County and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart) but I'll work on the other games and try to get some more slots filled on my card.

Popular Post DizzyDavidson
I guess I should update with my first entry. It is a kind of a cheap one since I did almost all of it last year but I was holding back the plat for Jan 1st. It's Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon for Orange. The plat doesn't require 100% completion I believe but I did it anyway. Well 117% to be exact. The only thing I didn't do was the challenges or whatever they're called. These Spyro games are quite fun, collecting everything is very satisfying. I missed out on the originals on the PS1 back in the day (I do have the PS1 Classics from PS+ on my PS3 but never played them), but these remasters are excellent. Next: I will be playing this month's PS+ games, Evil West and Nobody Saves the World and slot them in somewhere.
Popular Post lady-reze
For orange, I played A Short Hike. This was going to be my orange game for last year, but I never got to it. Very easy platinum although the fishing trophy took me a while because of RNG kicking my ass. The game itself was cute, it reminded me of Night in the Woods which is another game I adore. ^^
Popular Post plimaz-
Coming back for another year! This was a very fun challenge and I hope to actually finish it this time Starting off strong with Crash! I had been meaning to play the trilogy for a while now, and it was a very fun platinum. Some of the relics were annoying but still fun I'm putting it on Brown for now, but might change it to Blue or Yellow later Brown: Crash Bandicoot Spoiler White - Yellow - Tan - Orange - Red - Pink - Maroon - Purple - Deep Purple - Blue - Light Blue - Green - Light Green - Brown - Crash Bandicoot Grey - Black -

Popular Post DrBloodmoney
That should be everyone who's currently signed up added to the Big Sexy Participants list - if you've been missed, just let me know, and I'll fix! Also, might as well take this opportunity to.... ...add my own first entry for this year! 😎 First 3 boxes down! Tintin was a BIG disappointment I'm afraid - the game is nice looking, and actually captures the spirit of one of the earliest, very good Tintin adventures very well in the story (by, in fairness, sticking almost word-for-word to the book), and has a great art style... ... but the gameplay swings between okay, but too-easy and too-infrequent puzzles, over-long and over-abundant, fiddly QTE chases, and really some of the most absurdly archaic (and often broken) insta-fail stealth, of the type most developers learned people had no time for back on the PS1! All that might have been marginally forgivable, but the game is also just about as broken as I've EVER seen a (relatively) big release be - trophies are a glitch-fest, but even setting that niche element aside, the game is riddled with fail-to-appear QTE prompts, missing assets, floating objects, mis-matched lip-synch, NPC pathing issues, geometry glitches, objectives failing to register... ...and that was AFTER a couple of major patches. Fuck knows what it was like on launch day! 🥶 It shows an almost absurd level of under-polish, that even I - a pretty forgiving gamer, and nostalgia-driven Tintin fan - couldn't stomach... ...so I can only imagine how the average non-Tintin fan would rip this one apart! A Short Hike, on the other hand, is a great little game - a short, easy-breezy, feel-good affair, that feels like going on a nice holiday, and put me in mind of a short of combination of TOEM, The Touryst, Chicory, and Proteus! It's simple and sweet, but funny and charming, doesn't wear out it's welcome, and has some surprisingly satisfying flying/climbing controls! Carto is an unusual combo of Lite Adventure game and geometric puzzler, where the player can shift sections of a map around, to shuffle the real world around them - and discover more of it, with a view to solving puzzles as they move from biome to biome as Carto - the young, ostensibly mute but very endearing and lovable young girl, looking for a way to reunite with her cartographer Grandmother after falling from her airship. (You heard me.) It's "cosy gaming" of the highest order, and worked perfectly for me - both as a puzzle game, and as a game I can play during this holiday period, where I try to stick to games that aren to all blood and gore, since I'm playing during the day, and my kid might be around! All three are basically a lock for their colour choices, so no justification required, I don't think! Edited January 3 by DrBloodmoney

That sounds interesting, will put it on my watchlist! Reading your last paragraph it could be that you would also like inked. It was one of my 2023's Kaleidoscope games and you left an interested comment, but probably forgot because of all the other games that are out there to be played. So if you don't have a game for Purple in mind, this could be it. 😉

Popular Post Beyondthegrave07
Alright! No joking around this year. The Rainbow-colored kiddie gloves are coming off this year! No last second saves First game, done! Give me Omno for light blue! The game is kind of a Journey-like where you play as a Pillsbury doeboy-ish looking character who is traveling across the land to find enlightment. The game is pretty much sectioned off into 10 areas where you collect orbs of light (at least 3) to make your way to the next one while getting power-ups along the way. There's no fighting, no violence in this game which is honestly kind of refreshing in a sense. You kind of get to just soak in the world and the peaceful ambience as you play. There are some sections that are relatively rough to get through (especially on my potato wifi connection while streaming), but overall it's really easy. I wouldn't call it a must-play, but it is a nice game to play in between others to unwind from something super intense (like Elden Ring). And, if you have PS+ extra, you better jump on it before it leaves the service in the next couple of weeks while it's still available.
Popular Post Duke_Ryle
Two games done so far. The first one is The MISSING: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories. The game is a queer-horror puzzle platformer where the protagonist uses self-harm/mutilation as a means of navigating the world. It was made by White Owls Inc, the studio run by SWERY of Deadly Premonition fame (or infamy depending on your perspective). I'm a big fan of SWERY if you can tell by my pfp. I love his playful mixing of the surreal with the mundane. He's got big ideas and swings for the fences; sometimes he hits a homer and sometimes he strikes out. This time he hit it out of the park. The protagonist's story is told primarily through their text history, which is slow-dripped to the player as they progress through the story, and the self-harm mechanic used throughout the game becomes much more haunting as you are given the character's history. The twist at the end could have felt exploitative, but somehow didn't and almost moved me to tears. I am not going to say too much because I don't want to spoil it. I am not a member of the LGBTQ community, so after I finished the game I decided to seek out reviews by LGBTQ players/game reviewers to make sure I wasn't missing anything phobic or problematic. The reviewers in general were very positive about the game and many described being emotionally moved at its conclusion. The negative are that this is a SWERY game and if anybody needs to spend time polishing their games it's SWERY. He's a sloppy storyteller and has a very "FUCK IT, SEND IT IN" b-movie kind of attitude, as if he can't be bothered by the details. This game is buggy, like all SWERY games. I had a bug where I couldn't progress, an infinite loading screen and a trophy glitch at midnight on New Years Day when I tried to pop the last trophy and spent 20 minutes trying to find a way to fix it. There are 7 forum topics on the game page and 4 of them are about glitches. This game also has some of the WORST voice acting I've ever heard. Despite its problems it is one of my favorite games in the last year or so. I'm using this as my grey game due to the fog that covers most of the image. The game leaves PS plus on January 16th so jump on it if you are interested. Second game is Undertale for black. I'm not going to spend too much time on this one as Undertale has been talked to death. I saved this for my milestone 75th platinum trophy because I figured I would like it, as it is heavily influenced by one of my favorite games of all time Earthbound/Mother 2. Thankfully, I love this game. The Earthbound style humor really resonates with me and I find myself experimenting in this game to see what hidden jokes I can find. Like, what would happen if I dropped an "Abandoned Quiche" for instance. This kind of humor in a game is either something you love or something that grates on you endlessly. The only downside for me is the trophy hunting experience is anticlimactic. You can complete the trophy list before completing the game. I am looking forward to my true pacifist second playthrough even without trophies. Edited January 7 by Duke_Ryle repost image
