That being said, I did start hard mode and got up to Chapter 4 currently. The Mythril Golem was a bit hard in which took me 3 tries but not too bad! I'm hoping this run should be a breeze, but I am worried about the boss rush in the later chapters. 😬

Static_Rook
@MidnightDragon Seems like the platinum for The Making of Karateka is currently unobtainable. I was dumb and didn't doublecheck before swapping it in. Any chance I can change it? If so, I'd like to swap in Bloodborne (12%) in its place. If not, no big deal. Popular Post Fanatixa1
Hi everyone, Vacation update from Tulum Mexico 🇲🇽. As you can imagine I haven’t played many games but I did finish Pic-A-Pix Color on Vita. There’s not much to say about it, but I do enjoy these puzzle games while commuting or just listening to a podcast. I also started Papers Please and I’m intrigued by this game. You play as a person checking peoples passports in what I think is a dictatorship. Every day you get new instructions on who to let in and what extra checks you need to do. I will keep playing this in the coming week. Tomorrow I travel to Miami and will stay there with a friend for a couple of days. I will probably update again when home in Amsterdam. Loving this game so far and I'm liking Big Boss more the more I hear from him. Interested to see how his story develops, and Huey - Otacon's dad. Think Christopher Randolph actually does better work for Huey then Otacon, he's really good in this one. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater > 54% On my playthrough to just mop up all the trophies, and I'm just past the bit when you can kill the End before the fight which was funny. I'm enjoying playing through this again and I'm watching the cutscenes again. MGS3 feels like a game that you appreciate more the more you play it, it's really fantastic. I'm goingt o play some more of this tonight. LEGO: Pirates of the Caribbean > 34% What a fun LEGO game this is. Having so much fun with it with Rob and there doesn't seem to be anything tedious in this one at all like the vehicle sections, it's just straight up fun and it's only 20 hours long. Kinda tempted to watch the Pirates of the Carribbean movies now though since I haven't seen them since I was a kid. Really looking forward to playing some more of this one 😄, I have a new love for LEGO games now it seems. Swapped Dead Island Riptide out for this one since I'm not sure we'll get to it with playing Peacewalker as well and that's pretty long. Call of Duty: Black Ops II > 50% Just got to the last DLC map which is on a trench warfare kinda setting, I like the design of this map a lot so I'm looking forward to playing some more with my group in a couple of weeks. The big robot around the map that can occasionally step on you (it's actually part of the EE), as well as the one that comes chasing you beginning in round 8 are both pretty cool and kinda give off that Wolfenstein vibe. Managed to pick up 4 trophies as well last night in the DLC which is pretty good, got a lot of good practice in with this map. I really should get back to the campaign since I started a couple of missions a few weeks ago now and got sidetracked!
Popular Post viech54
Update #03 Final Fantasy IX Made a lot of progress these last few days. I'm almost done with the story and all but one troublesome trophies related to side content are out of the way. Namely, Follow Your Nose, It's all in the Cards III, and Movie Critic (highly missable without a guide). At this point I'm looking at a few more side quests and optional bosses, the last bit of story, leveling one character to 99, and the 12 hours speedrun. While it's definitely a good game, it overdid it on the side content a bit and some of the misc trophies (10k kills, leveling a character, Follow Your Nose, Jump Rope trophies, possibly the It's all in the Cards trophies) don't add much to the game other than many hours of playtime for little benefit. I'm aiming on getting the platinum on Thursday. This is reasonable, given that I have some time off of work right now. _____________ Anyway, take care, good luck with your lists! Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth I made some good progress since my last update, managing to complete the main story and start the end-game grind to get to max-level, level up my materia and generally start preparing my builds for the high difficulty content available. The sum of that content is to complete each main story chapter again on hard mode and to complete some hard mode VR missions (which are basically like self contained arena battles in a single room against specific enemy groups). From what a few other posters have said both here and on Reddit, it looks like these VR missions are way way more overtuned in terms of difficulty compared to Remake and the Intergrade DLC. so I'm looking forward to seeing that first hand! As a side note - I wanted to flag this with @MidnightDragon - since it's most recent patch - the platinum is currently blocked for anyone who hasn't finished all of the side missions yet. The final side mission is bugged and prevents you from getting the associated trophy. I have no idea when they will fix it, i'm hoping that it will be in time for the end of the challenge. It's possible to bypass it if you have a physical copy and can revert the patch. But for digital owners like myself, i'm shit out of luck. I wanted to flag it just in case I need to move it out of my list. I'm sure it will be fixed sooner rather than later though. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne No progress on Iceborne since my last update. I don't want to lose my momentum here and i'm actually missing it a bit, so i'm going to jump back into it as soon as possible. Next up: This week i'm going to use my game time to start finishing off all of the battle-arena type missions in Rebirth. I've been keeping apace of the VR missions as they unlocked during my main story playthrough, but there are still loads left in other areas to complete too, along with the actual legendary/brutal VR missions that unlock at the end of the main story. Not list related but I should also finally have the Powerwash Simulator DLC finished off too. I'm on the last mission, about 80% of the way through. It's an absolutely massive clean though, so it's been taking a while. And that's all I got, have a lovely week everyone and see you in the next update. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth - 51% > 77% Pacific Drive - 0% Dragon's Dogma 2 - 0% Monster Hunter World: Iceborne - 38% > 40% Dying Light 2 - 0% Dead Rising - 0% If you want to keep it on your list in hopes they fix it, you can. If you want to swap it out, you can. An unobtainable doesn’t count towards swaps. Edited March 26 by MidnightDragon
Popular Post Maddilyn_Mars
Well hello there y'all! Been a bit....again....again. But I'm back(ish) to this. I posted in this when it firsts popped up but have never checked in since, so I dunno if I'm even on the list or not, but I do have my first couple games picked and my first progress update! So I've been absolutely swamped at work the last month+, so most of my free time went into Baldur's Gate 3. Still haven't beaten the game yet, and am only about halfway through my Honour Mode run. Don't know if the game will make the list this challenge as I'd like to actually complete a list this time, hence the smaller list to start. My biggest progress though is going to be in another AMAZING series, being Mass Effect. I've platinumed Mass Effect and am currently about halfway through my Mass Effect 2 playthrough. Also maybe someone can correct me, but Insanity seems SOOOOO much easier than it did when these first came out....right? Like the only issues I've had with it this time around were running out of ammo a bunch in my current playthrough, and being a little too far in space....iykyk. I remember my last time through really struggling. All I know is I'm really glad to be playing this series again. I know the ending was not a favorite for most, me included but now that I've grown and replayed it a few times I actually understand it a lot more. But thats it, not a huge update but an update nonetheless! Hope everyone is having a wonderful day, see you next time! 💗 Maddi 1. inFamous: First Light 0% 2. Popular Post Heather342
Update #4 Hi everyone, hope you've all had a great week 😊. I managed to finish up the story on Strayed Lights, but as I had suspected I did indeed miss a few collectables. This has locked me out of most of my remaining trophies so a second playthrough is on the cards. The free roam at the end of the game only lets you explore the last level, and all the enemies are defeated. There's no chapter select either. There is a challenge mode, and you can replay the boss fights (need to knock out a trophy for defeating a boss without taking any damage). I wanted my first playthrough of the game to be a blind playthrough, so it was a risk, but the game is only 4 hours long, so it shouldn't be too much hard work to clean up the remainder of the trophies. I will follow a guide this time. With the long bank holiday weekend for Easter this week I should have plenty of time to knock this out. I'm also continuing to chip away at Rayman. Playing on the Vita it's nice to pick up for short sessions, clear a level or two and then put down again. I finished up the 5th hub world, which then unlocked worlds 6-10. You can tackle these in any order, but I decided to go back and clean up some stuff I missed (hidden cages, relics, speed runs and completing level medallions). I've also finished up the remainder of the miscellaneous trophies, so it really is just a case of finish the game and collect everything. That's all from me, keep up the great work everyone 😁 Trophy progress: - Rayman Origins -> 38 > 48% - Strayed Lights -> 37 > 53% Pending games: - Solar Ash 0% - Sea of Stars 0% - Tunic 0% - Eternights 0%

I haven't done all that much gaming by myself lately, well, I guess I sort of have, it just hasn't felt like it? I guess because The Last Guardian took me longer than I anticipated to finish it, but I did, and I'm very glad that I've played it... So what did I think of The Last Guardian? Honestly, I thought it was a fantastic game, a really wonderful meaningful game, that is well worth experiencing... but, and there kind of is a huge one, that might be off-putting for some people, the trophy hunting side of the game is pretty atrocious. I don't think it should disuade people necessarily, but it does make the experience longer than it should be, and forces you to play the game in a way that's completely unnatural, you know standing around like a little round headed fanny waiting for the game to tell you what to do, or where to go next (sorry, I only noticed on my final playthrough how round The Boy's head is)... at least I didn't go full Ricky Gervais and say that he had a "head like a fucking orange"..... but anyway I digress... Yep, the trophy hunting side of The Last Guardian is a bit of a pain in places, but I am incredibly glad that I got to experience this game, I really am, as there's so many positives to pull from it, and some genuinely brilliant artistry involved in the making of this game, in so many areas.... It's deep, insightful, and exceptionally well programmed on a technical level, once you understand how Trico works, or sometimes doesn't work I guess I go into it in a lot more detail in a waffly status update I'll paste into a spoiler bubble below if you're interested in reading some more about it. Spoiler Is it a bird? Is it a plane no it's..... Okay, so I guess I should rephrase that - is it a dog? Is it a cat? Is it a bird? Is it even a chinchilla? Well... I don't know, you don't know.... it's a Trico, which is an easier thing to write than the name I came up with for him.... Which was a Chincatillabirdog.... I'll erm, come back to that, I say what I see I guess? So as far as quick thoughts on this game go.... What a fantastic game this is... so long as you take the trophies out of the equation entirely, which I think when thinking about games in general you probably ought to do. I'll just say this now, the trophy hunting side of this game is pretty miserable, it's long-winded, has a lot of finicky trophies in it, which are tied to either un-trackable collectibles, or just playing the game in a pretty unnatural way, like standing around for 5 minutes at a time waiting for the game to tell you what to do.... That being said, it doesn't at all impinge on the games quality, when you just view it as game, or experience. Much like a lot of other Team Ico games, The Last Guardian possesses a real depth to it - a brilliant heart and soul, setting out to tell a particular story, and doing it using just minimal dialogue and masterful visual storytelling. That side of it really appeals to the film-maker in me I find it so refreshing when developers feel brave and bold enough to do this. It really does excel in this department. I really did feel a tangible bond with Trico the more that I played the game. To the point, where I found myself audibly being like "good job buddy" then giving him a stroke in the game when he actually listens to your commands 🤣 Also, the game looks stunning visually, and it's pretty tough to tell that this game has been out as long as it has. It's also got some great pieces of sound design in there, fantastic soundtrack - yet also in the fact that Trico's various roars and noises are cobbled together from other recognisable animal sounds, tweaked and pitched differently to create something unique. really great stuff. It's one of those games where although the trophy hunting side of it is a little rough, I still think this game is absolutely worth experiencing if you get a chance to. All in all I'm definitely glad that I got to experience it I also made a little swap, knocking Dead Island: Riptide off in favour of Tiny Tina's Wonerlands, it's been a good couple of months since my awesome other half @Redblaziken8 and I played through a Borderlands title, so we both thought why not get some couch co-op going with that one, after we finish off LEGO: Pirates of the Caribbean of course I'm sure Tiny Tina will probably occupy a decent amount of time for us, soon as we both have a little break from University work in the next week or so, so that'll be nice... As far as other games on my list go, as usual I'm sort of undecided on what I actually want to tackle next, I think it'll be Metal Gear 1 and 2, as I've been itching to nab another Metal Gear platinum for ages, but I'm also tempted to just finish off BioShock 2 off challenge as well, as I'm so close to that being 100%ed as well, so I can finally experience Infinite, so in all honesty, I've got some pretty great choices available to me. Either way, I'm sure I'll try and see the best in what those experiences bring, it's always better to be positive where you can, right? As always, it's been a pleasure reading all of your updates, so please keep them coming! I'll catch you all in the next one!!

ProfSeajay7
Might burn a swap on Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom to swap for a game for my Kalediscope project... but that game is not free and I want to save my money as I have $700 on freeze-down due to me booking a hotel room for May 19th. They haven't taken the $500+ price for booking the room for three days out of my money yet and my dad says it's taking them a while to charge me, but I dunno. Part of me says to put the money back into savings because that money will be paid when I get there, but I dunno. As such I have to wait until my check comes in for April to get any more games even though Ratchet and Clank(2016) is on sale for $9.99. I need to save a bit of cash for my final grocery trip for the month, which will probably cost me $100 as I tend to load up on snacks. We'll see what happens. If I decide to burn a swap I'll post it. Hopefully I can at least knock out the story this week and then start a collectible cleanup run.

I haven't played the PS3 version of the game, but I've not found anything overly difficult playing on the Vita. The tricky treasure levels are a bit frustrating, as are some of the level speed runs, but it doesn't feel impossible. The Vita version does use some touch screen mechanics to pop bubbles which can come in handy if you miss grabbing a Lum in a bubble or an extra heart. The Vita version has 3 relics hidden in each level that you need to tap the screen to collect, they're hard to spot sometimes but they make a very distinct sound when they are nearby 😊. The guide rating of 8/10 might be a tad exaggerated, feels more like a 6/10 to me.

On 3/26/2024 at 11:53 AM, maxfighter23___ said: doing the backlog is fun! For real! It's so satisfying to see the completion rate to increase. And also it's cool to scroll down my game list and see so many 100%s one after the other. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 - 7% --> 100% Xenoverse 2 completed! The last DLC trophy, the one about completing the Hero Colosseum, took longer than I wanted, but at least it was a fun experience. I can see why it's an ultra rare trophy and even the rarest of the game. Rarer than the platinum lol. This game mode, in short, is a 5 vs 5 battle between figures. Turn based. To win, get rid of all the opponent's figures or reduce the Master's HP to zero. Kinda reminded me of Yu-Gi-Oh. I saw a good amount of different guides all providing viable solutions, but the real problem was to get the specific figures listed by said guides. There are more than 800 figures and divided by the following rarities: Normal, Rare, Super Rare and Ultra Rare. The guides, of course, mostly recommend to use Ultra Rare figures. Good luck to actually find them since it is very RNG dependent and the amount of in-game currency needed is just ridiculous. Also, a lot of in-game currency is needed to power up the figures and buying the skills. So, I backed up my save and let's see what I could get with the in-game currency I had. After several back ups, I found a very interesting figure: Teen Gohan Super Sayan 2 - Ultra Rare (#118). Insane attack stat. And still in the same "attempt" without backing up the save, I get Vegeta Super Sayan God Super Sayan (Evolved) - Ultra Rare (#387). Very nice attack, not as powerful as Gohan but still powerful. I concluded it was best to build my team around those 2 figures and hyper offense is the way to go. Defense? Screw that XD. Gohan SS2 and Vegeta SSGSS are the only 2 figures I leveled up to the max, being level 99. Turn 1: I place 2 figures of Gohan Adult Super Sayan - Super Rare (#87 and #88) and their purpose was to get sacrificed in order to maximize the Ultimate Attack Gauge. Their special effect and them getting ko'ed allowed me to fill the Ultimate Attack Gauge directly in the first turn. No need to level them up, so it's easier for the opponents ko them lol. Saves resources too XD. In the first turn I also let my Master character vulnerable in order to lose at least 50% hp by the opposing figures attack. Less than 50% hp is when the skills I gave to Gohan SS2 and Vegeta SSGSS activate: they receive massive boosts to attack and speed. Gohan SS2 in particular also gets his Ultimate Attack damage increased as well. Only one figure can use the Ultimate Attack and Gohan SS2 is the best candidate. Winning battles awards experience points to my Master character. I was not too happy about it: the higher the level, the harder to lose more than 50% hp XD. Turn 2: Jaco - Normal (lol) (#159), my last figure, is very fast and his only job was to make sure Gohan SS2 and Vegeta SSGSS always attack first. Level 40 for him was enough. It was definitely better if I leveled him up further, but laziness XD. Gohan SS2, my win condition, overwhelms all of the opposing figures in the field with his Ultimate Attack and Vegeta SSGSS was more of a back up, although more useful than what it sounds. Turn 3: just win by taking down the survivors. Sure, the Ultimate Attack Gauge was depleted, but attacking normally was all I needed at that point. Oh, yeah! Between taking down all 5 of the opponent's figures or defeating the opponent's Master, I felt the former was easier. So, that's how I won the 35 story battles and 31 free battles required for the trophy. Sure, some of the harder battles required a bit of adapting, but the core of my strategy was still the same. My team and strategy put in excellent work and I am very happy about that. For the trophies I still had left for the platinum and the other dlc trophies: not too much to say. Battles not hard at all. A lot of grinding and backing up my save file. I am surely glad "only" 50% of skills and equipment were required. And btw, I know I am spelling the word Sayan in the "wrong" way. That's how the word was always spelled in Italian since when I was a kid and I do not intend to change it lol. Alright, 18 games left in my actual backlog. Next I will probably play the DLC The Lost And Damned from GTA 4 (not part of this challenge). I already have the platinum, so the biggest part is already out of the way. Though I am sure it's going to take a while to finish the other DLC, The Ballad Of Gay Tony, due to the trophy requiring to complete all secondary objectives for all of the story missions. Here's something random: only a few days ago I found out that Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a trilogy lol. A bit shocking to discover that Remake (2020) is the first instalment and Rebirth is the second one. Goes to show how much I care to follow videogame news nowadays lol. I assumed Rebirth was a spin-off >.< Games for this challenge Spoiler 1. Demons Souls (PS3-NA) - 11% 2. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 - 7% --> 100% 3. Jump Force - 10% 4. Kingdom Hearts (PS4) - 20% 5.
