Popular Post CurseBanette
Shining Resonance (PS3-Japan) completed! Grinding to level 100 was quicker than expected thanks to the party becoming much stronger, the amount of exp needed for each level up increased only a little and the boss consistently gave the same amount of exp without any reduction. Very happy about this completion! On Friday, I mentioned I would had played either Nier or Tales Of Xillia after Shining Resonance. That totally did not go according to plan lol. Later that day on Friday, in the topic "Advise the next plat to the person above you", someone told me to get the Dead Or Alive 5 platinum. 10/10 difficulty and "only" survival master trophy left. It's totally possible I was misinterpreting, but the way that post was written, I felt like that person was challenging me in a taunting way. Maybe I was really just seeing things, but the fact is, I actually accepted the challenge. And since I wanted to show who's boss, I decided to go after Dead Or Alive 5 Plus instead of Dead Or Alive 5 because it has an even harder platinum. Also in this case, "only" survival master left. 8 courses in total with increasing difficulty. Courses 1, 2, 3, 4 required to defeat 10, 20, 30 and 50 opponents in a row, respectively. I completed them time ago already, but I actually found them so hard to the point I quit game, too scared to attempt courses 5, 6, 7, 8 that all require 100 wins in a row each. But since I got "challenged", my fear turned into motivation to actually try. There was a second motivator too. Time ago, I remember @Heather342telling me about her experience with Persona 4 Arena. As I was reading her story, I got legitimately impressed by her dedication and perseverance and at the same time I was ashamed of myself for initially giving up with both Persona 4 Arena and Dead Or Alive 5 Plus after only 1 day of "trying" lol. I had to make things right XD. Thank you, @Heather342, for indirectly helping me! I opened the guide. I decided to use the character Alpha 152. These are the combos I used the most: "3PPPKKK7K", "2HK,HK,HK,HK,HK", and "6KKK,6P,3K, 8KKKKK". "4K6K" very useful to get rid of any opponents with very low health left. Oh yeah, P=punch, K=kick, HK=guard+kick and the numbers refer to the direction of the d-pad (numeric annotation system). Battles #10, #20, #30... #100 are boss fights since the AI gets clearly stronger. Opponents are always randomized. Only one exception which I will get to later. For each win, my health gets recovered by half. First attempt with course 5, I lost at battle #100. Ayane was too mean. I had 2 options: destroy the game or gracefully accept defeat and try again. Surprisingly, it was very easy to choose the latter. After all, 99 wins is still better than, say, 70 and it also shows I had a realistic probability to get this hell done. But of course I was a little sad lol. Second attempt, done! Relieved, but no celebrations, I still had x3 100 wins in a row to do. First attempt with course 6, I meet Ayane again! Payback time and this time I made sure to win, which I did! Course 6 first try, now that's remarkable. Maybe I am making sound survival mode to be a bit easy, but trust me I was struggling like hell. And so many close calls in so many battles. Course 7 first attempt, someone has to tell Bayman to chill the F out. He totally destroyed me lol. That was battle #69. Second attempt, battle around #75, I was about to KO Mila, almost finished my combo, but somehow she recovers, kinda teleported behind me and finished me off! I felt so robbed lol. The next attempt, I do not count it. At around battle #50, I had to pause. I came back, instead of resuming, I accidentally quit the game XD. I just laughed it off lol. Real third attempt, around battle #70 vs Akira. Not sure what happened, but my health bar went from full all the way down to zero way too quickly lol. Fourth attempt, I was not happy at all to face Eliot at battle #100. This guy gives me so many problems. But not this time, he pretty much handed me a free win because he kept spamming the same move which was very easy to block and also leaving himself vulnerable to my attacks. So, finally done course 7! First attempt of course 8, this game is rigged. Sarah literally countered every single one of my moves! Second attempt, vs Kokoro battle #90. She is my favourite character, but she obviously did not care as she completely annihilated me. I could not even land a single hit lol. Third attempt, at battle #97, I encounter Lisa. In course 8, Lisa is always the final opponent in battle #100, but in this case she decided to also appear in battle #97 and end my run. How nice of her to save me a few minutes lol. I did not feel like I made any mistake. I simply lost and that's it lol. Fourth attempt, at battle #99 I meet Lisa again! She really hates me this much. But this time I won, only for Lisa to appear again at battle #100. Just like Eliot from earlier, she let me win by just spamming her same predictable move! Oh my god I did it! I completed all 8 survival mode courses and got my new best platinum! I found Dead Or Alive 5 Plus even harder than Persona 4 Arena, my former best platinum. I am super glad I was skilled and fast enough to complete those 4 courses in just 1 day! But damn I was so worn out, my hands hurt and I got a bit of a headache too XD. Worn out might be an understatement because this game completely killed my will to keep tackling my backlog and as of yesterday I started to play new games in God Eater 2 Rage Burst (Hong Kong) and Saints Row 4 (Australia). Also downloaded Vanquish (PS3) and bought Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition. Actually, not really new games since they are all stacks of games I already completed, but still XD. Anyway, super proud of my Dead Or Alive 5 Plus platinum and since my ego is getting very inflated, I really need to fix it lol. The 14 games left in my backlog, including Dead Or Alive 5 (PS3), I leave them for sometime in the future, once my will to clear the backlog comes back again. In the meantime, my blank accounts protect my current completion rate of 96.21%, so starting new games do not affect it. Then again, this means it is a fake completion rate. Oh well, I don't care XD.

Thinking back on that discussion we had, your comments had reignited my drive to play Persona 4 Arena again (I was taking a break to avoid burnout, I put a lot into that game last year). I'm still at the same point, Shadow Labrys is still my PB on score attack, got there a couple of times now and almost beat her. I don't know when I'll finish it, but I know that one day I will if I keep trying 😊
Popular Post Buff_Cupcake
Update 7 Not a long update this time, but a couple of updates nonetheless - Quick PSA to begin with - I binged the new Fallout TV series over the weekend and it really, really impressed me. I liked it so much, i think i might watch it again. And i'm seriously considering dropping Fallout 3, New Vegas and/or Fallout 4 in upcoming challenges. If you like Fallout games, I 100% recommend that show. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth I'm finally free! Even though that took way, way longer than I anticipated, I'm still glad I tied it off fully and pushed through to the end. I really enjoyed this game, but I stand by what I said earlier - it's really unnecessarily bloated in places. Also, I will say - a 2 hour long gauntlet of bosses at the end with no places to stop and break and minimal changes to change your materia slots is madness. Some truly baffling design decisions in an otherwise exceptionally put together JRPG. Pacific Drive I did not see this coming! But it is absolutely my game of the year so far. I don't really want to spoil it, but it was everything I needed in a game and more. Just a wonderful driving roguelike with a really compelling gameplay loop and hook. Next up: FF7 Rebirth has left me pretty exhausted, so i'm going to take a bit of a break from it this week. The new Dead Island 2 DLC is out so i'll be on that for a little while. I also started playing some Baldur's Gate 3 with my D&D friends and it's been a blast. Next week i'm going to make a start on Dying Light 2 finally! Have a lovely week ahead everyone and see you in the next update. This time it was getting the Comrades trophies in FFXV, and still more Diablo IV. This week I should finally, actually, for real finish Ortha. It's actually a cute game that I'm enjoying, and I should finish it right around the 10 hour mark. Which was the estimate I read when starting out. Then I'll start something else on my list. Not planning anything at this point, I'll just see which one I feel like starting up when the time comes. Keep up all the good progress! Game list(1/6 complete, 3/3 swaps used) 1. I don't know when I'll finish it, but I know that one day I will if I keep trying 😊 Yeah, you will definitely get it done! Realistically, you would already be done by now if only the game offers a proper way to practice versus all the boss characters. Which character(s) are you using? If you do not want to use the pausing method, then Kanji and Elizabeth would be the easiest ones (actually, "least hard" would be more appropriate lol). For Kanji you mostly spam the grab attack + Cruel Attack follow up and for Elizabeth you mostly spam Maziodyne, though this will not work vs Boss Elizabeth, but it's still a very winnable battle. Other 2 very good characters are Akihiko and Naoto. Akihiko has all the tools you could ask for and Naoto has the very nice Hamaon/Mudoon (use Hamaon XD) mechanic that KO's opponents without even letting them to Awaken, particularly useful vs Boss Elizabeth (too bad she can still Awaken at will, but still lol). I feel like I already said some of these information last time too, but hopefully I said something new as well lol. Anyway, just wanted to let you know I am willing to help. The tips I provided here are just a small fraction to what I can actually provide. Then again these tips are very vague, but of course I can elaborate XD. Good luck with the game!

Popular Post MidnightDragon
Since I've had several people ask me about this, I'm gonna post about it. If you finished all the games you signed up with or any time in the challenge, you can add more games. The maximum games you can sign up with is 25...unless you're some crazy gaming wizard and get all 25 done before the challenge is over. If that happens, you get a bonus 15. I will be changing both in the summer since it's WAY too many and hardly anyone ever gets that far. Especially since shovelware, though not short plats, are banned.

It has that film noir aesthetic and vibe, the voice acting is absolutely superb, the humour is great and I didn't ever want to stop playing. All the animals chosen for specific characters makes perfect sense as well, and how the characters pose and occasionally move is done really well. I love that the reptiles in the game pronounce the 's' heavily as well, nice touch. I love the detective, mystery and visual novel style of this game as well as how it looks. All black and white with some colours occasionally to really stand out, it's done so well. Also the soundtrack in this game is stunninggggg, I love it. Also some of the trophy names are great. I love the callback to Police Squad and Frank Drebin, which the main character definitely sounds like - likely intentional I realise 😅, I'm a big fan of Leslie Nielsen and find him really funny, so I'm glad I have a trophy that refers to a part he played in my trophy collection. I'm really glad this game had a sequel announced, and I will 100% be playing it. Every time I play an indie game I'm reminded I should play some more of them, since they're so unique and have that soul that a lot of new game franchises don't have anymore. Sly 2: Band of Thieves 0% > 49% Booted this one up since I fancied playing Sly again, and a mate of mine kept joking to play it about 100X so I thought I'd get to it 😂. I like this one but I still prefer the first game, I just think the first is a little more inventive in its gameplay loop and the areas and bosses are better in the first one. The story of the second one is better so far though and I do really like it. I just don't find it as bingeable as the first game, and I don't really like playing as Bentley that much, Murray is OK but it's a bit insufferable how he calls himself 'The Murray' - silly pink hippo 🤣. I'm on episode 5/8 so far and I'm playing this one at the moment in my spare time, I'll likely play some more tonight. Grand Theft Auto V > 67% Decided to get a few trophies in this whilst @rjkclarke was doing some of the Star Ocean grind, and got the 50 under the bridge and the knife flights done, collected all the letter scraps, finished off my last rampage, and started off the stunt jumps - which are so far a bit challenging and I don't like stunt jumps so wooo can't wait to do more of these. Call of Duty Black Ops II > 53% Back to Monday night zombie sessions and I picked up 3 trophies last night in our one game lasting from 9:30 to 1:30 am, shows you how long one game can be in zombies. I'm really enjoying the Origins map though, we built and upgraded all 4 of the elemental staffs and I got to annihilate some zombies with a lightning staff at high rounds so that was really fun, then just picked up the trophy for reviving 4 different ways in one game which was pretty simple. We've practiced most of the Easter Egg steps so we're ready to go for next week with that, so it's looking like we'll be done with zombies on this game by the end of this month, either next week or the week after. Which reminds me, I really should actually go and play the campaign. I just keep getting distracted with other things. Had a lot of fun getting these trophies last night, so I'm looking forward to the next session with my friends. BioShock 30% I've also started up BioShock on Survivor with vita chambers turned off, and I've only played a couple of hours so far but I'm having fun with it. I was following a guide at first for all the collectibles but there's just so many I thought it'd be super tedious so I'm just deciding to do backtracking before the final boss at the end because I don't want to ruin my enjoyment of playing this game again, just need to keep an eye out for the missable trophies. This week coming up I'm going to play some more Sly 2, COD, BioShock and likely LEGO Lord of the Rings as well, see you in the next update! Really enjoy reading everyone's progress😄. Popular Post Maddilyn_Mars
Finally getting around to writing this update! I've completed my original list and then some!!! Now they were considerably easier games this time around but nonetheless they are done! Now I'm currently going through and setting up tracking some backlog stuff, but I may or may not add new games to my list just yet. I may end up adding MLB 24's PS4 list as long as it doesn't auto-pop but I haven't checked yet to see if it does! As for the games... Infamous First Light was fun, not the first time I've platinumed the game but it's a fun replay so I didn't mind doing it again! I love Fetch and hope we get a new installment in this series soon! Tacoma is another interesting walking sim story set in SPACE!!! Another quick and fun little adventure but nothing terribly difficult about the trophies, especially with a good guide! We Are OFK is a replay as well as I got the PS5 version platinum back when it first released and have now gone back for the PS4 version. A cute and queer story about musicians in LA trying to figure themselves out! What Remains of Edith Finch is also a replay (almost everything on this list is....my Spring replay challenge lol), but a great one at that. The heartbreaking story is brutal all the way through and definitely gives games like Gone Home/Tacoma/Everybody's Gone to Rapture for top Walking Sim game! The game I absolutely wasn't expecting to add to my list and complete as quick as I did was MLB the Show. I had planned to buy this as soon as I heard you could make the first female ballplayer and planned to play it non-stop whether I got the platinum or not. This might be the easiest list of any MLB game to date. The only really difficult trophy is the diving catch and even then I got it accidentally. If your a fan of baseball and want an easy list, pick up this years!! But that's all for now, once I fill out my backlog list and journal I'll look into adding more games for this challenge, but there's a good chance I'll just hold off until Summer! Hope y'all are doing wonderful and keep up the great work earning those trophies and clearing the backlogs!!! ~Maddi 💗 1. inFamous: First Light 100% 2. Mass Effect (PS4) 100% 3. Popular Post viech54
Update #09 The Sinking City Completed the game. It was an alright game in the end. I'd still point out the combat as the one major flaw that holds back the game, but oh well, it could be worse. It's over now. _____________ Not sure which of the 2 remaining games I'll do first. It somehow feels like I'll never do A King's Tale if I do Hogwarts Legacy first, so maybe that? IDK. It's relatively short, one evening should be enough to get it done. Provided I don't encounter any unforeseen problems in the game, which, considering how this challenge went for me so far, is definitely a possibility and not at all unlikely. There are also the Final Fantasy XVI DLCs that I want to play soon, but those are not eligible. The first DLC isn't long, no idea about the second DLC as it just released. The DLCs shouldn't get in the way of completing my list, I think. _____________ Anyway, take care, good luck with your lists! Popular Post Heather342
Update #7 Hi everyone, hope you're all having a great week 😊 Last weekend I managed to make a lot of progress on Solar Ash, getting through the story, collectables and side quests for the 100% save file. Then started a new game on easy mode to blitz through the speed run. All that's left is the hardcore run, which is proving very difficult and frustrating for me. The whole premise of the game is that you have to clear these anomalies, which are areas of strange black goo. They have target points on them, and you need to hit the target points in a time limit. There's between 4-7 of these points before you stab the goo thing in the eye, which then awakens a big remnant monster (reminds me a lot of Shadow of the Colossus). The issue I'm having in hardcore mode is that the timer between the attack points is now so small, it's super frustrating trying to hit all the points. I'm only in the second area of the game, and I've been stuck on the first anomaly all week 😅. I'll keep trying, hopefully not all the remaining parts of this game are as annoying. I really liked the game up until this point lol! I went back and cleaned up Strayed Lights yesterday. Still not really sure how I managed to miss things on my earlier playthroughs, unless the difficulty setting was involved. I played my first two runs on easy mode, but always was 1 skill point short of gaining all abilities. Maybe there were fewer enemies in this mode? 🤷🏻♀️. I played on normal mode this time, and followed along with a video on YouTube to make sure I collected everything. Once that was done, I decided to start up on Eternights. Not too far into it yet, but definitely seeing all of the inspiration from the Persona games. That's all from me. Keep up the great work clearing those backlogs! Popular Post gladiatorrrrrrr
Hello all, Update time! Undertale - PSVita - 0% => 100% I am not sure what to write about this game. Might be that I was a bit too overhyped due to a 92 score on metacritic. I just have mixed feelings about the game. There were parts that I really liked and there were parts that felt tedious, unnecessary draging along, either in dialogue or puzzles. Nevertheless I am glad that I have played it at least once. I do see the quality of the game and it played super nice on the Vita while I was travelling. Current Status Next weeks I will swap out A Plaque's Tale Requim, don´t think I will find the time to play it. As I am on holiday in May, I probably going to add some PSVita games. Popular Post viech54
Update #10 A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV Cleared the story, got some optional trophies out of the way, and did what I consider the hardest trophy in the game. Namely, Combo King, i. e. do all combos in the game without getting hit. This took me a few attempts, 10 or so. At first, I did what the trophy guide on PSNP recommend and tried it in Dream Stage 13 (optional battle after the main story). That didn't go well. So I restarted the story and did it against the first few enemies in the game. You can perform all combos against those, they are much more passive, there are less enemies, and every single enemy can be knocked in the air for the aerial combos, which is not the case in Dream Stage 13. As a bonus, the difficulty of the enemies can be lowered. Not sure if it just reduces their HP (bad, you want them to be alive for your combos) or also makes them more passive, but it is an option, so give it a go if you're struggling. Also, do not mash buttons as fast as you can, you will not do aerial combos if you do that. Now there are all Dream Stages left and defeating 1000 enemies, which should come naturally while doing dream stages. Those have some bonus objective that needs to be done for the trophy, such as beating all enemies without getting hit, using specific attacks, or not using specific attacks. All of that shouldn't be too difficult. _____________ Anyway, take care, good luck with your lists! I started and went through half the game on the easiest level which increased the number of playthrough I would have needed to do to get the platinum (damn you past me). But I got through it. Guardians would be the next easiest to knock off based of the guides, but I have been trapped in MLB the Shows Diamond Dynasty mode the last week or so since finishing Korra, so I should be back onto this challange.
Popular Post MidnightDragon
Since I haven't gotten in the mood to do plats again, I tried two games. First was Galagi Shooter, a blatant Galaga clone. It was going well at first, but hit a brick wall at level 12 because the level is very buggy. The enemies suddenly act like they've been drinking Mountain Dew and eating sugar for three days straight and the boss has some issues, too. After several days of trying, I gave up for now. I may go back to it at some point. To help get the bitter taste out of my mouth, I played a puzzle indie called Expand. It was fun, but tricky at times. I struggled the most at the end of the third level and halfway through the final stage, but got through it and 100% it. My plan is also to play the Cat Quest III demo on Switch, but that's neither here nor there. Edited April 20 by MidnightDragon

Severed - 0 > 3 > 25% I’m going to try to get the games on my list done, but I may have made a mistake joining this time around due to spending the first month getting a plat for a game that wasn’t even able to be on my list (Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth), along with upcoming games that I’m really looking forward to such as Stellar Blade and Wuthering Waves (The latter being on PC in May).
Popular Post StilRh
Hey loves. Another week, another load of new games on my list rather than completing what I'd already commited to, lol. I am house sitting at the moment so treated myself to Grounded (been longing for a Subnautica style game for a long time, the Honey-I-shrank-the-kids world has a lot going for it, a lot less janky than Subnautica but it doesn't hit the same horror notes as the unfathomably deep and alien sea did) and that has been excellent, even in single player. I'm going completely blind and hoping there is nothing missable. I've also picked up Dave the Diver as I heard good things when it was originally released on PC. Only 9 hours in but it's been very fun and various gameplay loops perfectly makes you want to do one more dive, one more day etc etc. I return to work tomorrow but I did want to carve out 10-15 hours in the week to try and bag my first plat of the challenge before long. I did try playing Necromunda but I just wasn't feeling it tbh. I've also dabbled in FF7R and Yakuza this week. Have a great one Age of Wonders 4 30% Aliens Dark Descent 84% Army of Ruin 47% Balatro 8% Blasphemous 4% Cyberpunk (PS5 w/ Phantom Liberty, no loading PS4 saves or autopop) 0% NEW: Dave the Diver 0% > 29% Final Fantasy VII Rebirth 35% NEW: Grounded 0% > 5% Necromunda: Hired Gun 26% Unicorn Overlord 11% Warhammer 40k: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters 18% Yakuza: Like a Dragon 21% Dragon’s Dogma 2 28%
