Popular Post SirWaWa
Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel Pretty much had this in my backlog since the beginning of time and I'm glad I was able to put this one away. Now this isn't a hard platinum but it is very long. Minimum 100 hours due to the 100 hour trophy. I wrapped everything up within 70 or so hours and waited the rest out. Nothing is glitched and a guide is highly recommended. While the guides were not wrong, but they were not exactly super concise on some parts so it did leave me with some stress but everything worked out. You really only need 2 playthrough's (new game plus optional but recommended) and save scum the rest during certain story branches. Game was glitchy for me as I had it freeze multiple times but only during combat (soft locked and required hard reset). If you like anime, you may like this (maybe?). Popular Post Cmndr_Yoshi
Hey guys! Got a few games done after the LEGO "Mega-Block". The LEGO games were fun, but it was nice to get back to a variety. First up... Platinum # 181 Sifu (PS5) Rarity - 27.17% I started out completely floored and finished it somewhat bored. First off, the combat choreography in this game is absolutely phenomenal and some of the particular set pieces are amazing to look at. The graphics have a somewhat "cel-shadey" thing going for it, so it's not the most stunning visual experience as far as graphical realism goes, but it's art style really fits the environment I think they were going for. Controls are slick, for the most part, with just a few camera issues popping in here or there. Unfortunately, by the end of the platinum, I found myself bored from having pretty much seen all the game had to offer by the end of stage 3. And, as the game progressed, it turned into a "parry-fest" in that, unless you know how to time your parry/dodges, you likely will NOT beat certain bosses or enemies, even on the easiest difficulty setting. This is due to the fact that higher-tiered enemies and bosses BLOCK EV-ER-Y-TH-ING. Still, as an overall experience, I definitely recommend at least a try. Platinum # 182 Dying Light 2: Stay Human (PS5) Rarity - 6.81% Oh Dying Light 2...you jerk. I had an amazing time playing you. I enjoyed your Parkour traversal mechanics and your control scheme. I loved your setting and environments. Even your story wasn't too terribly bad. But WOW...you're...so...bugggggggy! Game crashes? Check. Trophies not correctly unlocking when they should? Check. Character getting stuck? Check. Audio cutting out? Check. It's a mess, for sure. Much to Techland's credit, however, they are making updates. One update toward the end of my playthrough helped clean up some buggy items and added a New Game + mechanic, but I still needed to do a second playthrough for the monstrously horrible Archivist trophy. Just be warned if you DO decide to play this...go in with an incredibly detailed plan of action. Study the trophy guides out on the net and check the feeds for glitched trophies. Make sure you've done everything you can before going on to the next side or main quest. Back up your saves. And if you're a completionist...hold on to your butts. I had this nearly done several weeks ago, but the final smack in the face (as far as trophies go), is the ridiculous distance trophy. I had my overpriced PS5 controller rubber-banded for an entire day to grind out the remaining distance I needed (which you can't see anywhere), and that was after playing through the game twice. Platinum # 183 The Pathless (PS5) Rarity - 41.24% I. Loved. This. Game. From start to finish. My best experience on the PS5, thus far, and I'm a massive Ratchet and Clank fan. I am sometimes leery about indie games that are heavily environmentally-inspired. Before you yell at me, it's not for environmental-political reasons; it's mostly because often times they are gorgeous to look at or soothing to experience (Hoa, Spirit of the North, Story of Seasons, etc.), but they lack in the gameplay department. The Pathless, on the other hand, excels in the gameplay department. The controls are crisp, the environmental traversal mechanics are spot on, the auto-lock with the bow rarely had any hiccups, the puzzles located throughout the expansive world are insanely clever, yet still manage to be simple in design...and the boss battles are some of the most epic I've played in a while. There's some really good stuff here. My only wish would be for some kind of fast-travel system or map...it can get a little boring if you need to find the remaining collectibles in an area but have to cross massive lengths. Still, that minor quibble aside, I highly recommend this game. Opinions will vary, of course, but this is one of the best games I've played this year. Platinum # 184 Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin (PS5) Rarity - 36.94% Non-sensical plot? Yep. Sometimes cringe-inducing dialog? You know it! Incredibly unlikeable, overly-tough, uninteresting, boring, carbon copy protagonist who, at times, carries a sword longer than he is tall? Bingo! That's right, it's another JRPG in the Final Fantasy world! Okay, so smart-assery aside, this game takes a different approach to Final Fantasy and introduces us to its version of a "souls-type". The combat isn't half-bad, to be honest. However, everything else just falls so short. For one, it's kind of an ugly game, even on the PS5. Environments suffer a little from the copy-paste syndrome of similar games. Secondly, the job system is "okay", but I found myself just sticking with one most the time. But...and worst of all...I absolutely couldn't STAND the protagonist. Wow. I feel like Final Fantasy hasn't had a likeable protagonist that wasn't a complete dick since Zidane from IX. Seriously, the tough-guy persona of Jack, SoP's protag, is just so annoying. I miss the days of protagonists I enjoyed getting to know...if we're talking Final Fantasy: Zidane, Cecil, Edgar, Locke...Lightning fell into the same category for me as Jack, as well...you can still be a mysterious badass without being so darn unlikeable. Ok, vent over. Platinum # 185 Detroit: Become Human Rarity - 14.44% Now that I'm done whining about protagonists, let's rebound with one of the best interactive story games around: Detroit. If I hadn't already played this game before on another account a few years back, I would definitely be giving it my "best of the year" so far. It's visually stunning, the characters feel (ironically enough) real, and the cause and effect system actually works here...actions have consequences on the story sometimes immediately, and sometimes down the road. And it works so well! Games like the Telltale series of games made promises of branching paths and consequences from those paths, but they rarely led to anything different or noteworthy. Detroit makes the promise of such a system and fulfills that promise and then some. They even give you a diagram flow chart of the path you took during a scene so you can try out a different story path later on...a true "choose your own adventure". Gameplay-wise...we'll, it's pretty much a glorified QTE from start to finish, albeit a fantastically-presented QTE. So, if that doesn't interest you, you may want to avoid this. But, if you're interested in a great story with great characters, you really can't go wrong with Detroit. P.S. - Detroit: Become Human P.P.S. - Dying Light 2: Stay Human P.P.P.S. - It's official, the Dying Light series is a sequel to Detroit........

Popular Post da-Noob123
I don't think I have posted in this thread for a hot minute. Think the last time was February. Since that time I have added 4 more. March - Yakuza: Like a Dragon Simply an amazing game and my first Yakuza. Some truly funny moments and great writing throughout the game but it does have a slow start. However, given this game is in part a homage to many great JRPG's, a slow start is practically mandatory. I have added Yakuza 0-6 plus the 2 Judgement games to my collection for me to play until LAD's sequel comes out. April - Necromunda: Hired Gun This was an incredibly fast paced game that was pretty decent but did crash several times. The gameplay reminded me a lot of Doom 2016 but I had to play on the easiest difficulty to really enjoy it. This game was another first for me, my first game set in the Warhammer 40k universe and while it doesn't really add anything to the lore I enjoyed seeing it first hand so to speak. May - Dark Souls Remastered This was my first ever Souls game. It didn't really click with me and I quickly tired of dying. I know, I know, "git gud," but honestly I don't think that's what's needed. Patience is what you need and I am not referring to waiting for enemies to attack so you can counter or parry or whatever. You have to patient getting through an area over and over and over and over to get to the boss and proceed. The bonfires were a neat idea but damnit, let me save when I want and reload if I die, don't waste my time running through the same area countless times. I'll learn patterns and whatnot but wasting hours of my life just to get to the point where I can is extremely tedious. And screw The Catacombs/ Tomb of the Giants, Blightown had nothing on them, Icouldat least see done there, mostly. I did like how interconnected the world was and I did enjoy the story... after watching a YouTube video explaining what the hell was going on. I have Dark Souls 2 and 3 in my backlog but need a break before I attempt them, maybe I'll like the experience better in round 2. June - Call of Duty: Ghosts This was a sleeper hit for me. My brother put this on my account years ago and I never had any intention to play it. I picked it up on sale a month or two ago as I am trying to reach 90% completion and this game was at 1/92. I determined to just beat the campaign on Veteran and get the miscellaneous level trophies but I ended up really enjoying the story. I was so disappointed when it ended on a cliffhanger as it looks like there never be a sequel. After finishing the campaign I decided what the hell, and tried out Extinction. Playing it solo is horrible, sure there are less aliens to kill but it's so boring alone. At this point though, I was too close to the platinum and stuck it out. Luckily, one trophy requires 4 people to survive and escape so I was forced to play with others, this proved to be quite the boon.I found the mode to be enjoyable with a squad backing you up and made short work of the remaining base game trophies for a new nice and shiny Ultra Rare Platinum!

yellowwindow7
Deponia Unlocked! / Deponia of all the point and click games i ever played up to now Deponia is one of my least favorite. the solution to solve stuff in it don't make sense at all... now i know why reviewers complain about the puzzles parts and the way you progress through the game. i mean at the beganning you'll get a plunger, and there's a toilet and two washing sinks in the house the first thing that came to mind is that you need to use it on those and you might gonna get to something but nope! you need to use the plunger on a rough plank of a wood to make a hole to get something from the hole.. also you'll be tasked to pack your stuff and leave the house and all of a sudden your toothbrush will have a mind of it's own and run away from you and hide inside a pile of junks, you cant grab it with your arms as it will bite you! so you need to find some nut and a mouse trap and throw it inside the junk pile to catch it. and after all of this hussle there will be no use for the toothbrush later on at all as you'll gonna lose it very early after getting it along side all the stuff you packed at the start of the game, the moving toothbrush will never been seen ever again! also half of the game's trophies are missable, so i'm pretty sure that most people who played this have gave up and used a guide and for the entier game and be done with it like i did, the game can be decnt especially when you solve stuff without a guide. of all the wacky ponit and click games that is already confusing to solve it's parts like Sam and Max ( which is my favorite! ) or something super short like The Little Acre i think Deponia is the worst, i mean yes i understand it's supposed to be cartoony and funny but still, i beat Sam and Max TDPH series and the little acre without any guide... i only used the guides to get the trophies i missed the first time, and i had a blast playing through them again.. in deponia i passed the house part and the departer attempt without any help, then at the city part i got stuck in there for two days before i gave up and followed a walkthrough. i have Chaos on Deponia next to playthrough it, even though i'm not betting on it but here's hoping it'll be better.
Popular Post Moridin83
# 214 Guacamelee 2 I went back to this after several yeas to clean it up. This game sat for a long time, because I had been playing it co-op with a friend, and then...COVID. It's an incredibly fun game, with occasionally frustratingly precise platforming segments. Having played the first one will improve your enjoyment quite a bit. Overall, highly recommended. The DLC trials can prove somewhat challenging if you want the full 100% though, so be forewarned.

Popular Post JoaLoft
#287 - Unravel Six years I left Unravel waiting in my trophy list to properly finish it, and tonight Yarny finally completed his journey on my console. Unravel stars Yarny, a voiceless little doll made out of red yarn. As he explores the house of his home owners, he observes the family pictures in the rooms and goes off on an adventure traversing diverse environments, each presenting different challenges. Yarny will eventually have to try and find his way back home, after he travels into more dangerous territories and puts his own life at considerable risk. You experience Unravel as a sidescrolling 3D platformer, but Yarny has no limitless free movement. The crux of the gameplay is that Yarny leaves a loose red thread behind wherever he goes. He literally unravels (see what they did there?) throughout the levels, the farther he travels, so checkpoints are made up of a needle with a small bowl of red yarn to replenish his body and the distance he can travel. You go from checkpoint to checkpoint And in between those checkpoints, the puzzles and platforming sequences present you with small challenges as to how to reach the next checkpoint with a limited amount of yarn. The puzzles are never difficult or venture into brain-breaking territory: a lot of times you're throwing lassos of yarn to anchor points to climb up or to create new platforms by tying your yarn to two anchor points and dragging objects around. That doesn't mean there aren't any challenges. The platforming sequences which require good timing can cost you your life if you're not careful, and Yarny is not immune to water, falling or being crushed by heavy objects. And those are just the basic rules, Yarny also encounters hostile fauna during his journey and crawls through dangerous machinery, just to give you a few examples. So there is very real danger present in the levels. One thing that stands out: the production quality for such a small studio. The visuals still look and the soundtrack still sounds beautiful six years after launch. From rocky mountain trails to snowy fields, it all looks amazing accompanied by a soundtrack based on folk music and traditional instruments. And seeing/hearing the game in action, you can tell it's made by a Scandinavian studio, a Swedish one to be precies (Coldwood Interactive). And Yarny ends up being one of the most charming voiceless protagonists in video game history. His tale isn't an overblown epic or long one, and it doesn't need to be. It's a charming story of an innocent little doll made of red yarn, that goes out to explore the world and face the dangers hiding within. The puzzles needed a bit more complexity, but aside from that: Unravel is a game I warmly recommend. Most frustrating trophy - Not so fragile after all The trophies of Unravel can be separated into four distinct categories: finish the levels, find all the hidden collectibles, perform miscellaneous optional tasks in each of the levels and complete every level without dying. Guess which one ends up being the most frustrating. I picked "Not so fragile after all" as my most frustrating trophy, where you need to finish the individual levels without dying. Levels can be pretty straightforward if you ignore optional paths to look for collectibles, but some parts are very finicky or unforgiving. Knowing what lies ahead and planning accordingly is crucial to survive every level without dying, and this is where the linear structure helps immensely. Some sequences do require some trial & error or even straight-up luck. One particular example, which might be the most annoying part of any level, is the field with the hostile crows you have to traverse by timing your runs and hiding behind or inside objects. The crows are so random in their attacks that you can only bide your time and spot an opening quickly to make it to the next piece of cover. There's no pattern to hold onto, you just have to let your instincts work at full capacity as you guide Yarny through. Fun and exciting, because there's no clear pattern in the crows' AI. You feel like Yarny is in real danger and there's no game design to exploit, peeking through the seams. But also very frustrating, when you're trying to beat the level without dying and need some luck to make it through unscathed. Or as someone on YouTube summarized it perfectly: "These crows are not part of a puzzle. They're just pure evil."
Popular Post slender_adrian
#95 Difficulty: 3/10 100% Completion: 3/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 Grind: 0/10 Rarity: [Ultra Rare 3.3% / Rare 19.40%] "The Rapture dream was over." 2 years ago I decided that Bioshock 2 was going to be my 40th platinum, now I came back and gave it the spot #95, man time flies... I remembered when this game came out, I was so excited to play it, the idea of being a Big Daddy was amazing. I liked the story for this game, Lamb was a good antagonist and the idea of the bonds between Little Sisters and Big Daddies was amazing. And of course, the moment I saw those Big Sisters... damn that was amazing. A lot of my thoughts about this game had change throught the years, now is my "least" favorite of the trilogy although it was my favorite as a kid. Bioshock 2 is just an incredible game. Getting the plat for this game was extremely easy, I divided my platinum run into 2 playthroughs, one for getting basically all of the trophies and the other one for my hard run, unlike the original Bioshock platinum I think its pretty tedious doing everything in one playthrough on hard, there weren't Big Sisters back then haha. I enjoyed a lot my hard run, I rushed the last 2 levels though haha and I only die once doing a harvest I believe is called in English mainly for being a cocky dude haha. The most tedious part of this plat was doing the multiplayer stuff... wait, multiplayer? Wasn't there multiplayer trophies? mmm strange... The DLCs were pretty awesome, Minerva's Den is just amazing, the story for this dlc was pretty cool, that revelation at the end (that's why you listen the diaries) and the ending were brutal and I loved the Protector, fast combat and chaotic just pure fun haha. I enjoyed coming back to this game and to Rapture! Last stop... Bioshock Infinite.
