After a week full of grinding, I finally managed to get this. Only ten more levels remaining and it's over for me. No more grinding after that. Once done, I don't have to worry about the platinum being unobtainable.

This is a wonderful game that everyone should play a definite 9/10 from me! I got a lot more recent trophies then these but felt like only posting a couple that I got in a row. Ive got a couple of trophies to get out of the way then the rest is just finishing the game, and a few grindy trophies!

Hijole! This is one of those trophies where it's common enough and people downplay its difficulty enough to where you're like uhhh... am I dumb for thinking of this as a solid achievement??

Sank a good chunk of time into these six pricks (five if you were able to bypass Ifrit but I myself was never able to) and I am happy to be done with them and on to Limit Break City. Now two chapters are all that stand in the way of platinum #30?

I was working towards this milestone the whole week, and was nervous about how which trophy this will be. Once I noticed that 
could play Tomb Raider simultaneously, it helped me to boost a little the count towards this. And actually,
was completely unplanned (but the trophy was there so, why not?), but I love how this match the final result.
Also, I laugh at which trophy I got afterwards, which makes it even more worth, funny

Yes, hello, it's Tropico 5! A game featuring 51 base Trophies of which only one is Common (and ten are Ultra Rare) thanks to it having been a PS Plus freebie in 2016 that clearly didn't go down well with the 'normie' crowd.

 

The guide advertises this Plat as being 2/10 in terms of difficulty, which is absolute nonsense even when playing on the lowest difficulty. LEGO games are a 2/10. This one is at least a 4/10, with myriad possibilities to softlock yourself in the campaign. Sure, 90% of the base Trophies you can cheese with unlimited money in the sandbox mode, but the five story-related ones force you to know every single one of the game's mechanics by heart..

 

Back to the Past is the middle of those five Trophies and roughly marks the halfway point in the campaign. The fact it sits at 6.17% rarity on PSNP right now tells you everything about its difficulty and how poor the attrition rate for this game is. Getting to this point of the campaign has been frustrating for me, but in a way also somewhat enjoyable. I also have to commend the developers; I played Tropico 4 on PC, but I haven't missed using a mouse + keyboard in 5 so far - they did really well with the gamepad controls, they click with you after a few short minutes.

 

Back to the grind for me now, I should be able to get to the end of the campaign before long (and I hope I didn't just jinx it). My real worry is doing the campaign in the Waterborne DLC afterwards, which apparently is a lot harder still.

 

Oh, and a shout out to the dude who did the Trophy tiles; love the airbrush effect, and how eccentric some of the designs are

Beat game on Extreme difficulty

 

That was a nice challenge, but in my opinion not that hard: Extreme difficulty, which is a no-death run of the game (You can actually die, but you mustn't run out of lives) on the hardest difficulty setting, is actually much more forgiving that I thought.

I played the levels in this order: Money Bin - Transylvania - The Himalayas - The Amazon - African Mines - The Moon - Mount Venvusius. I had a lot of trouble getting past Transylvania first, and The Himalayas then, I think I spent a good hour on the first three levels alone and I thought this Trophy would be insanely hard: however, as I kept playing I realized that I kept losing not because of the difficulty itself, but because of my mistakes/missed inputs. So I focused more and, once I was able to get past The Himalayas for the first time, I didn't screw up and I was able to beat all the remaining levels in one go. I actually made two stupid mistakes in a row in The Amazon and this cost me two lives, I thought this would screw up but I was able to beat the game anyway; also, the last two chases after the final boss, which are infamous for costing a lot of lives and screw up Extreme difficulty runs at the very end, only cost me one life, pretty nice because I only had three before starting these two chases So yeah, not insanely hard but this was still a pretty hard and challenging Trophy in a game I loved, it will definitely be part of my Trophy cabinet in few days  

The Trophy Guide mentions that skipping the cutscenes may make the game freeze and thus cost you the Trophy, but for the sake of my own sanity I started skipping them when I was always losing on The Himalayas and Transyilvania, and luckily things played out well And now it's just a grinding, but easy Trophy keeping me away from the 100% of this game, it's a shame it doesn't have a Platinum

Finished the last battle against Karen.

I was actually going to make a joke like "Lololol, I beat the crap out of a Karen" but nah, I am too impressed with that boss fight! I love this game. And I finished the battle just in time for the State of Play (I will watch the ending after that).
