Dunno if it counts, but I gave my younger brother my first fat/silver NDS as a hand-me-down when I got my Lite. He was so aggressive with it that he broke the touch screen. Deep inside I still don't forgive him.

I can mildly remember a first Playstation.

I had a PS2, then moved. And then got a PS2 Slim

I got a PS3, then bought an upgrade.

I bought 2 PSP's, an early 1k model, then a 3k later on.

The 2nd 360 is after the first RRODed.

Smartphones and PC's are cause upgrades.

Is that implying merely one TV? I have many TV's. None of which will support multiple consoles being hooked up to them at once, so I have them setup individually throughout the house.

 

As for the question itself, the number is currently at 4;

 

• One Playstation 3 is hooked up to the TV in my sleeping space
• The other Playstation 3 is hooked up to the big TV in the hallway
• Playstation 2 is hooked up to the other TV in my sleeping space
• Wii is hooked up to the TV in the back

 

How many consoles have you broken/died on you?

 

I believe only two of my consoles have ever developed any issues. My second PS3 ended up getting a faulty Blu-Ray laser, so it stopped reading certain disks and I had to buy a replacement. The other one was an old Gamecube of mine that ended up frying out. I honestly cannot remember the exact issue seeing as it was so many years ago. In fact, I cannot even remember if it was an old Gamecube or if it was a PS2...

 

The above number doesn't count if we are not referring strictly to consoles, though. If we are including handhelds, then the number would be four. One of my old Nintendo DS's eventually refused to power on, and I had accidentally dropped my old 3DS which cause the screen to break off.

My PSP is broken, the 4 action buttons don't work anymore. Dunno how that happened.

As you can see, I've a lot of handhelds and just one console, its kinda because as a kid I preferred handhelds. I could just lie on my bed and play for hours. My PS2 isn't hooked to my TV right now. All my consoles except Vita have been neatly packed in plastic containers and stored away in our store room. I plan on getting a PS4 in March or April next year.

Edit : Finally got a PS4 on 6th July 2016 (I know, I'm late). Its the only console hooked up to the TV right now.

I have a Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox One and a Gameboy Color. Not sure if that last one still works though.

 

I did have many more consoles/handhelds in the past but at that time I decided to sell them. They were a Wii, Wii U, Xbox, Xbox 360, PSP, PS Vita, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 2DS and a SNES. Sometimes I think that I wish I hadn't sold them, but I guess they would only be covered by dust if I kept them.

 

The consoles I have hooked up on my tv are the PS4 and Xbox One. The PS3 has to share a HDMI cable with it's PS4 buddy since I'm out of HDMI slots.  

 

Consoles that died on me... Not sure, I had my 360 sent to repair twice and my Gameboy color is on the edge of it's life. The rest is still up and running.

I have had the PS3 Fat YLOD on me but I had it for about 5 years so it did pretty well.

The disk drive on my Wii died on me. In the end it sounded like a buzz saw.

Nothing else has. My fat PS2 still works after 14 years.

Never had a single console die on me I still have my Xbox 360 from 2006 (Red Ring of Death must be a myth!!) along with my PS3 from 2008 and both these console took some heavy usage over the years. Only console that had a few problems was my PS2 eventually and  it took a few times to read a disk sometimes.

2 - I had my Playstation after I got the disk reader modified to play burnt video games. It slowly started dying, not sure from what it just died.

I also had the LED screen on my Playstation Vita start dying. Sometimes I would just turn on the system and nothing would happen. Other times it worked normally. I traded it in to gamestop and got the full used credit since it turned on and seemed to working fine when the guy tested it. Thankfully lol

Thanks to Deadpool on PS3 my HDD got corrupted and when I took it to the repair shop it was pronunced dead, before I signed up for PS Plus ... yeah not happy!
