What Platinums/100% you regret doing?

I would probably say marvel's avengers because of the  complete 50 hives trophy I was so sick of seeing/doing the same hive  over and over and over again fighting the same enemy's doing the same objectives till the trophy pooped

Now I can't even look at the game without my stomach feeling sick

I thought "How has nobody mentioned Marvel's Avengers?" until the very last post. ?

Solo campaign wasn't bad but the postgame grind... jesus christ. The last trophy I needed glitched and popped early for me, saving me another ten hours. Good thing too because I was on the verge of "taking a break" and likely never finding the motivation to pick it up again.

I legitimately live in fear of a trophy supported DLC being released for it.

i highly recommend trophy hunting them, for sure. they were a blast even if a bit of a grind. made me believe in myself more as a gamer. might dive into Super Meat Boy or Trials Fusion haha

If I had to choose something... Styx... I liked the gameplay but the platinum was collectable list after collectable list, I had to play every level twice with a youtube video with the collectables. It wasn't fun... I forced myself to play to finish it but never again...

I have other games which were boring to plat; for example, I really liked Rune Factory 4 Special but platinum it was a real pain. I don't regret doing it though, it was a proof of my... patience, or lack of common sense, I don't know!

So far, none on Playstation, though Salt & Sanctuary is getting dangerously close to the point of regret. However yesterday was the first time I enjoyed myself playing it since I started it 6 days ago.

However, there is 1 game on Xbox that I forced myself to complete, and it caused me to burn out for 3 months afterwards.

Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard - This game is the worst game I've ever forced myself to complete. It's a shame too as it's probably a game I would have enjoyed if I wasn't going for the achievements, but maximum hazard difficulty is just obnoxious. There were so many cheap deaths and frustrating sections, with the only way to progress being to cheese enemies behind walls. It's one of those third person shooters with a cover system that is useless. It's better to just stand behind cover than actually go into cover, and that's because as long your crosshair is red, it'll hit the enemy, even if it looks like your gun is pointed at a wall. Even with this exploit, there were often so many enemies, especially in late stages, that it was still difficult to progress. The final level and boss fight was the last straw though. Almost every enemy has a railgun that would insta-kill you, in between each phase of the boss fight you'd have to fight a handful of these guys, with limited cover. It took me 2-3 hours just to beat the final boss. I think what made it worse was that I was on a tight time schedule at the time so in order to beat it, I stayed up until 6am. I did most of the game in a single sitting, and the frustration just kept building. I can't believe how common this game is though, it's not rated as a very hard game or anything. I've done games that are considered much harder, but this game remains the one that has destroyed me the most. After completing this I took a 3 month break from achievements. I don't usually regret completing games, even if they're bad, like I completed Mindjack, and TMNT Danger of the Ooze, but I don't have hatred for them. Eat Lead is the one game that I genuinely wish I never bothered with.

There were a couple others that could have been up here with Eat Lead, but I put them down before it got that far. Extinction is my new worst game of all time, but because I played it after Eat Lead, I knew what would happen if I stuck with it, so I quit after I started to get really frustrated. Splatterhouse is another one that I quit, but I made that choice fairly early as it started pissing me off right from the start.

Four Kings Casino and Slots.  It's trash.  The slot payout % are way off in favor of the house.  The slots themselves will glitch out and swap your tiles if you are about to stop on bonus spins (trophy tied to this) or jackpot.  You will go on ungodly losing streaks.  The poker tournament style tables are rigged so that the seat selection has more to do with winning instead of any type of playing style.  If you pay attention to the hands, you will know who's going to win the table when one person consistently ends up with better hands than others.  Happened to me where I guessed who was going to win halfway in.  Managed to bust the table except the person i thought would win, then was up 10 times the chips they had and proceeded to lose all the following hands in a row just checking through the doubling blinds.  Also went all in from the start of one table consecutively like 10 times in a row and won the table giving more credit to the rng seat theory.  Trophy tied to getting a super slot spin jackpot.  9 months of one daily spin along with some extra they have given out and haven't come close 1 time.  Of course you can buy more spins, buy more chips, buy more accessories, buy whatever you want, but why?  Can't convert back to real money if you do win.  The bowling controls are ass.  The game will skip here too and really screw you on your rolls.

There's a whole forced social aspect as well which is tied to bonus chips sometimes too.  Virtual dance with a friend in the club for 10 seconds  lol  Big chatbox too along with the drama associated with these social simulators.  It's like a nursing home casino in Vegas with the mindset of 14 year olds.  Maybe I should change my opinion in that boomer thread  lol

The rng is a killer in all the casino games.  I understand house always wins, but at this rate....the gaming commission would shut this place down if it was legit.  I'm convinced anyone who managed to get all the trophies in a short period of time besides the ones tied into time sinks has a crapload of disposable income or hacked the game to do it.  So after all this ranting, my dumbass will still be logging in at some point tomorrow to get the free chips on the never ending strat of saving up a mil just to play bingo nonstop to get the vip 2 trophy.

Injustice Gods Among Us Star Lab is getting on my nerves too, but still nothing in comparison to 4 Kings.

Ace Combat 7 for me

The guide mentioned 50 hours for the game, but I left more than 100 hours for that time.
Even if the priority of the person who wrote the guide is for professional Ace Combat players, he should know that not all players are professionals in every style of play.

At one point I played a lot of ratalaika games just for the sake of easy platinums. My trophy milestones looked hideous. I regretted it and decided to make another profile, just to fix that. Now my profile has only platinums as milestones and only the games I want to play.

You may see the odd easy Platinum which I only use the PSVITA for, due to gaming at work.

I think my worst was No Man's Sky on a previous account. I just hated it and I started it after the first time they had "fixed" it and there was supposed to be actual content in the game. Won't go back, no matter how many articles are written about it's redemption.

Anthem and Avengers we're both pretty bad with grinding. I did Anthem during the holidays and I actually liked it. However, I wasted a ton of time searching for collectibles that were taken out of the game during the winter festivities. Those Christmas decorations that stayed in until like May that year, which is when I finally went back to get the platinum. Avengers was decent for about 60% then it was mindless grinding through the same 25 rooms with small modifications over and over and over and over and over...

Recently I’ve been correcting or rebalancing my profile after binging many easy games, but I don’t really have any deep regrets about them. I only wish that I hadn’t started a lot of games that will be a pain to platinum. I’m fairly open-minded, though. For a cleaner approach, I started a secondary account for my absolute favorites, but it’s not getting too much action yet lol.

Walking dead season 2. Not because its a bad game, but because its the only game on my profile with no platinum. I did it early in my trophy hunting career and didn't really know how adding trophies to games worked then, i thought they would add the platinum with the trophies from the last episode, but they never did.

Happily deleted the rest of the quote, just for this. Agree so much.

Also regret starting Crossout due to the 500 raids trophy.

PES 2020 after they shut the servers down like a year after release meaning I can't earn the plat in it.

As well as the same whorey games (Mr Massagy, My Name is Mayo, Little Adventure on the Prairie) when I didn't care what I played - as long as it had a platinum trophy. Now, I can't stand those 'bronzeless' trophy lists that can be platinum'd in 5 minutes but that's for another time on another thread.

I'm a trophy hunter, you think I'm capable of shame!? I regret nothing.

Whether I've had a phase going through easy plats, played the worst games, played the grindfests, played games I've never finished or where trophies glitched, the years of games before I even got into trophies, games I've hated or loved, it's all a part of me. I would never regret something because at least I can say I have an opinion as opposed to I don't know I never tried

Even the 'crappy' games.

Same here. I mean this is a trohpyh hunting site and I consider myself a victim to this hobby.

But - I did everything by choice. As Hakoom said 8 years ago (I am paraphrasing):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6V2wRVMCQs

If you want to be a great and succesful trophy hunter, you must not disregard crappy games, you have to do stacks, progress on anything you can get your hands on (and you can afford*). *Addition by me - I want to stress this point. Don't ruin you finacially and don't make compromises to duties in real life!

Of course there are some plats I am not proud of  - total shovelware, money not exactly well spent:

  • Jumping Burger
  • Finger Fitness
  • Slyde

Other than that I had fun with a am Mayo and many of the Ratalaika titles.

i tried to get platinum on AC4, and i succeed! But, even if solo trophies are fun to collect, i want to yeet my PS3 because of the longening lv55 on the online. Everyone have prestige and either they are pros, or these... guys who farmed xp to get the same items, but OP.
since that, i hesitate acquiring a platinum of AC3

You would think after seeing the state of my profile that I would say all the ezpz stacks. But no. I don’t regret them. Most of them were easily obtainable, they were a quick fix and seeing as I lack in skill for most games, these satisfy me.

What I do regret is

Friday the 13th

I missed out on the PS3 era and when I got a PS4, I didn’t know about trophy hunting. I also did not know about boosting. So there went 1500 hours down the drain or something stupid. Same can be said for

GTAV

I played the online with friends and racked up a silly amount of hours without actually earning many trophies. The clean up was disgusting. I was also naive to using guides and ended up with the wrong ending, taking me so many more hours to clean up that mess.

Lego games (every single one of them)

i used to game with my daughter on my profile. She started every single Lego game. She did them all wrong. She bought all the characters and no red bricks. And now this chump has to go and sort it out!

Just the bad games, that ended up taking a long time, and which I should have just left incomplete - if I were a better person ?

So probably:

Sniper Ghost Warrior

Jak II

L.A Cops

Space Overlords

Jedi: Fallen Order

WWE: Legends of Wrestlemania

Most other games that turned out to be bad were quick enough that I didn't feel like I lost anything, or had some redeeming qualities that stop me regretting them completely.

(Co-Op for It Takes Two, for example, or finishing my A-Z Challenge for Zombie Driver HD)
