I've heard a couple of people say this. I was initially turned off from playing it because it didn't seem to be rated very well, but know I know that's usually the case with many Japanese games and that hasn't stopped me from enjoying them. The game looks great to me, so I think I'll enjoy it.

I too had my doubts, but bought it anyway once I found it at a reasonable price. Graphically it reminds me of the Atelier games, although without the alchemy stuff and the the party kind of only consisting of 1 and a half members. It's not a brilliant game and has it's flaws, but I think it is solid overall.
