Hi guys. Weekend update time! I've had a few more stabs at getting the 7 deaths trophy on Medievil without much luck so I really will park this until my annual leave in Feburary where I'll spend a day devoted to that very last annoying bronze trophy in order to get the plat. Achieved the plat in Kotodama, I dropped this after getting half way through a playthrough and then finding out about missables so this time went a head with a guide. Quite shallow as a VN and shallow in terms of game play (I love tile matching games usually) but had some PQube charm in there. Still, wouldn't recomend unless you find this on sale. My remaining game time has been spent with Cold Steel 2 but yet to pop any more trophies. This week I'll still be playing Cold Steel but I may install CoD MW2 on my PS5 to continue that. I plan on getting the new Ys and Atelier releases as birthday presents to myself and will likely add those to the list.

The last few weekends, I've been working on earning avatars in Tetris Effect. It's not difficult, but the problem is you need 100 unique avatars for the Avatar Rockstar trophy and you can be awarded duplicates. I don't know if it's possible to get most avatars outside of the weekend events (a few I got for other things, like level milestones). I finally got my 100th unique avatar tonight. Still need to git gud for the platinum, though.

I've been slowly working on this too on the weekends haha. But yes, I also need to get good for the SS everywhere as well as Expert Journey mode. Though I feel like I have a better chance at that than SS on master mode...

Update 14!

I’m back! I moved over the new year, and until the weekend before last I didn’t have anywhere I could set up my PS4 on. My PS3 is set up in the living room, but I’m not using that right now so that my roommate can play one of my favorite games ever finally after years of trying to convince her (she loves it). Now that I have another shelf that my systems can go on though, I’m finally able to make progress in games and not feel quite so guilty about gaming even though I still have things to unpack.

 

Now that life updates are done with, on to game updates! I’ve made some more progress on Asdivine Kamura. It’s a shame I misunderstood the trophies about synthesizing weapons, I sold a bunch of weapons I could have used to get more of those done before I found out what it was really talking about. Oh well. I made some more progress in Hakuoki, and a lot more in Killer Puzzle. I also started Ghost of Tsushima, and holy shit is this game amazing so far! I just wish I had a bigger TV so that I could see all the detail as clearly as it should be.

 

Realistically, I’m not going to be able to finish Ghost, Sleeping Dogs, or the Lego game in time, and I have just enough swaps left to trade them all out. I’m going to think on it for the coming week. I might leave it since I’ve made a ton of progress as is and I’m proud of myself considering everything that’s happened to me during this run. But, it would also be pretty cool to be able to finish a go at this finally… Things to think about!

4 games finished this week, finally found the strength to finish Prince of Persia, went through a painful experience with Sly 2, and finished two short games without platinum trophies. 

 

                  #174 - Sly 2: Band of Thieves

 

Well, here comes one of the worst sequels I've ever played. Don't get me wrong, I love the first Sly Cooper, alongside Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy it is one of my favorite childhood games. But something went terribly long with how the game plays out that I had a miserable time doing it and now I dread the thought of having to do it once more on PS Vita. I know many people consider Sly 2 to be the best in the series, I respect their opinions but I simply can't fathom what they love about this game. Unskippable cutscenes, annoying boss fights, instant fails during "missions", unnecessarily complicated level design, terrible camera, and missions that are a copy-paste festival. I mean, come on. What's fun about running around a map like an idiot while avoiding enemies (if they attack you they will 100% push you off the ground to the water, often killing you), and the entire game progression's structure forces you to run back and forth to the safe house multiple times. I absolutely hated my time with this game, and I'm fucking terrified of what Sly 3 has to offer (I heard it's even worse than Sly 2).

 

                   #175 - Prince of Persia

 

I'm not a huge fan of the Prince of Persia series, I always appreciated them, mainly because without them we probably wouldn't have got Assassin's Creed any many, many more IPs. I've played through this game once years ago, around 2010/2011 so I knew what to expect, but now as a trophy hunter, this trophy list was garbage to be honest, and ruined my enjoyment of the game completely. First and foremost, I'm not ashamed of using glitches and exploits if they can save me some time. I mean, everyone can do that so why should I waste more time than need be? This game has a useful glitch that allows you to basically platinum the game in one playthrough but because I only had a digital version of the game which was pre-patched, I had to play through the game twice, mainly because of my carelessness during the collectible cleanup. That's what was the worst about the game, lack of replay value. The game can be split into three main categories of gameplay loop: 1) parkour and world exploration, 2) boss fights, and 3) collectible hunt. None of them are interesting enough to keep the player entertained after a full 100% playthrough, let alone playing the game twice. Not gonna lie, I had some fun. The game is gorgeous, I'm a sucker for cel-shading graphics, and the soundtrack was good as well. Other than that, everything the game has to offer is good at best, dull at worst. Add to the matter the DLC which was a real dick move from Ubisoft, putting the real ending (which sucks anyway) behind a pay-wall. 

 

                        Sly Minigames

 

I wasn't sure if I wanted to put this and the other game into the event, but I guessed if I'm going to finish it now, might as well add another two games. Those who know me are aware that I have a kink for finishing every game in a series that's important to me. Sly is one of them. Despite Sly 2 being a bad game, in my opinion, it really means a lot to me and Sly Minigames was the only game missing from my collection. The reason? It's only available on the disc version of the HD Trilogy collection, which is very hard to find in Poland, plus the price is also ridiculous, to say the least. 40$ just for a short collection of minigames that I've finished in less than 8 minutes? Lol, money well spend, I will tell you that much. Luckily I have a friend who will buy it from me, so I won't lose anything.

 

                            MouseCraft

 

MouseCraft is a simple puzzle game that was free in PS + more than 5 years ago, I've played it a bit and got one trophy, it has been sitting in my backlog ever since, and because I wanted to play something simple before finishing Prince of Persia, I decided to finish it. The game is very simple if you follow the guide you can finish it in about 3 hours, I personally tried to finish every level without any guides, it was fun until halfway through but after that, the game had nothing new to offer and got pretty boring, so I just finished it ASAP. Not much to say here, if you want a quick and easy 100%, give this game a go.

 

Next on my plate will be Medal Of Honor: Frontline and Resident Evil: Revelations, RE might take some time, depending on how my coop partner will perform, but I should be able to finish the coop before the end of the event. Thanks for reading, have a great week and stay safe, cheers!

Finished off the delightful Cat Quest a week or so ago. Not a bad word to say about it. Didn't outstay it's welcome. A nice alternative.

I made an attempt to finish Layers of Fear this morning. I'm a fan of a dark plot and jump scares so I did have fun with it. I played the main game twice (one blind, one clean up) but after playing the DLC for the 3rd time, it's moving to the "died a death" pot of my games. You know where you commit to something for 2 hours and don't get the outcome you'd expect? Well that's where I stop for my own sanity.

Life is Strange 2 is still going well. I'd say the 4th episode is the weakest so far but still a good progression of the plot. Special mention for the collectible mode that you can opt for, after finishing the episode. It allows you to go straight to the section(s) where you've missed the souvenirs without replaying lots and lots. Now that's how you do it.

I'm almost at the last boss in Immortals Fenyx Rising. You can really overpower your character by upgrading the potions tree. This equates to bashing R2 half as much. The vaults and other collectibles are like a little ongoing project. Do a few, buy some upgrades and repeat. I couldn't imagine playing long stints of the game though. It actually makes me want to pick up Odyssey again but that's chilling at 19% waiting for the next event. 

Hope everyone's as well as they can be. This most recent lockdown in the UK is quite painful not knowing when it will end, but we crack on. At least it's cold outside so you don't mind staying in.

Been doing some clean up and completed two games-Donut County and Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit. Pretty fun games. As stated earlier, the spring signups will go live later this evening. There's one or two details I'm finalizing before I open it.

I only do fall and winter together. Spring and summer have their own events.

I have opened the spring signups. I've made the rules a bit more flexible going forward. For example, you can have one game at 50% or less, but the rest have to be 33% or less.

Current plans: 

   - Working on LA Noire with Epic Word Search as my backup game.

   - Going to play Pantsu Hunter on the side.

   - * Have to replay a good portion of the game to get one photo for last trophy before plat. When I do this I am unsure at this moment.

   - ** Overall percentage is 58% as I had to play the DLC and get 5 stars in each of them as a part of a trophy from the base game. Figured I'd get the trophies in them while I was at it. But I am only putting down my base game percentage above.  Other than this game I won't be playing any DLC.

 

Going to use my last two swaps to replace Shenmue 3 and Yakuza Kiwami for other games as they won't be close to being finished by the end of February.
