Platinum Difficulty Challenge 2023

Okay, looks like I forgot to make an update when I finish Legasista.. so, now will be a double update..

 

On Legasista end, I will just say that if there wasn't an invincibility glitch, I would likely not even finish the story on it... also, difficulty (7/10) took from playstationtrophies.org..

 

The second part of the update is Persona 3 Portable! Took me nearly 200 hours thanks to the trophy that I wanted to leave for last, plus the platinum screenshot setup.. even if I personally agree more with the PowerPyx rating (6/10), I will take advantage of the strange rating on playstationtrophies.org, that is an 8/10...

Don't know when/what will be my next game.. but I got into the idea of using 1 game from each ps system in this, even if there's not a badge for it (this is actually why I want to book Persona 3 Portable as an 8 instead of a 6, since I'm not counting it as a PS2 game, but rather as a PSP game).

Well that took awhile. Assassin's Creed III Remastered finished! It was a good time going back to my very first PS3 game I owned. While I think this game wasn't as good as the Ezio Trilogy, I really enjoyed playing through the story. The optional objectives made for a good challenge, really what gave this game a 5/10. That, and the immense grind it was to do everything else. I didn't find it too bad, but was definitely glad to finish scanning all my homestead friends. Also, did anyone else who played this version find the DLC extremely glitchy? For me the DLC was the worst part of the platinum because of how many glitches I came across, although that might have just been me. 

 

Starting to get a little nervous now that I'm approaching my higher difficulty games, but they're all challenges I'm also excited to do. Next up is ICO, a game I played 10 years ago and never finished. Shadow of the Colossus is my favorite game of all time so I'm excited to finally finish it's predecessor. This one should be a lot quicker than AC3 haha.

I was so young and naive back in february... The optimism slowly turned to horror after tracks like 167, 170, 175. 178, 180, 190 and a lot more but those stick out as extra evil atm. Ended up with 74 trackmaster, happy with that but black series was a rude awakening. 

 

 

As for next game I am not sure but might change my 10/10 to Crash Bandicoot 4 because Xeno Crisis went from 3% too 5%+

So I figured I've give an update to my current progress. Things are going much slower than I'd have liked, but I've picked up one of the platinum's on the list, albeit the 1/10, lol.

Will be working through Man Eater, and starting up Concrete Genie this weekend. Destiny 2 is basically the harder Nightfalls and a few challenges remaining so I suspect a few weeks away from completion.

Well I'm glad to still be on the leaderboards 43 pages after my post (not gonna read all of that lol). I made a few changes on the list, mainly changing some games to another place so I can make room for new ones. 

 

I changed Virginia for The Gardens Between, recently added on PS+, and Overwatch, which I'm not that convinced to try, for Hollow Knight. The rest continues mainly untouched, although I'll wait until the RE4R guide to see if I make another change.

 

As far as progress goes, I platted Sims 4 and made a lot of in-game progress in GT7, which is reaally long.

Got a substantial update for the list. I completed both Demon's Souls and Hogwarts Legacy, which are both pretty long games, and has taken some time because of my studies on the side. They weren't too bad. I have been into souls game for a long time, and I will say I do think demon's souls is the easiest of them, though it is also played after lots of experience with the others.

Quick update from me, two plats on my second list:: The Artful Escape (3/10) and Outer Wilds (4/10)

 

The Artful Escape was definitely easier than a 3/10 but conversely Outer Wilds Hotshot trophy pushed it higher than 4/10 in my opinion.

Enjoyed both games as I like guitars and exploration but Outer Wilds was far superior.

I won't say any more as Outer Wilds is definitely a game that should be experienced without spoilers.

It is one of those cases where the challenge comes from the game itself, but there are a couple of trophies that will require some grind, similar to almost every other rpg's i guess.

Hard Work Pays Off

 

Normally I don't post partial updates, but since last night I earned what will definitely be the hardest trophy of the challenge for me I figured I'd celebrate and post here. I love the name of this trophy, since it embodies the message of this challenge. Gaming is fun, but trophy hunting is even better because it uses gaming as a medium for teaching us that we can do hard things, that we can overcome obstacles and that we have more power, intelligence, talent, etc. than we may think. Yeah it's "just video games" but the principles are principles of life that can and should be applied in all other aspects of our lives. Earning difficult trophies slowly but surely eats away at the subconscious falsehood we all subscribe to sometimes that things are impossible or that it's better to give up than struggle. It's definitely not, it's better to push ourselves and thus uncover our hidden potential and achieve goals that are more a matter of belief in ourselves than anything else.

If ever I decided to come back to this event, I would do Binding of Isaac again the same way I did it on my old account(only install Rebirth so I don't have to do the Redemption challenges for the trophy and use the quick save feature for my Lost Run) as my 10/10 because that game was pretty fun and I enjoyed watching videos of people doing insane challenge runs, and now that I am adopting a "plat but not complete" policy for annoying DLC since there are several games I want to plat but not 100% because their DLC can go die in a fire(FFXIV and A Hat In Time), I might just go ahead and drop my trophy % to 75% with this gross mature-rated brush fire.

There is a quick-save feature in the game where you can save the room you are in, reload, and - if you get killed, immediately pause the game and exit to reload the last room so you don't fail the run. Go ask about in the Binding of Isaac forum.

Claire is out, 7 yet remain. Really interesting game, it kinda grows into you as the gameplay goes as the story and setting are quite spooky. Once you got through the fear though, it's mostly a survival game about exploration and resource management. I recommend it!
