Saints Row: The Third for Purple.

I played the PS3 version back in the day and picked up the PS4 version a year or so ago I think and just gotten to it now. It's still a great game, great characters too. SR was one of my favorite series back in the day, played and enjoyed all of them (even the spinoffs) except the reboot (I haven't played that yet). The trophies can be a bit buggy on PS4 and I definitely got caught out and had to get them on my second run. Still, it didn't take anything away from my enjoyment of the game.

 

 

 

Well, I think that is it for me. Filling up just one card took me almost a year so a second one is not going to happen... unless I fill it up with just DLCs I've already done... I could probably get 3/4 of a card done with just that, but that wouldn't be right.

 

Thank you for the event, it was really fun. I'm really glad I was able to complete a card.

Dang I've just been playing a lot a lot of Yakuza 0, which sucks because it definitely won't fit in with this event, but I took a little break to play Call of the Sea for Orange (which, if it works better in brown or tan, let me know). I'm back to back Covid and now pneumonia so I might be able to fill in more boxes before the end of the year, but I'm not thinking I'll be able to finish a whole other chart. But I'm content with filling out one! Better than I thought I'd be able to do haha especially with the long ass games I chose this year.

1st card done! Was struggling to find a colour for maroon then with RL trading shutting down soon I started that up and noticed one of the DLC packs would fit nicely for this card. Had a lot of fun with this one, and posting my 2nd card underneath, which I highly doubt I'll finish but it's a really cool looking card full of awesome games so...

 

Already a really cool selection of games here, and I'l try and add some more to this second card with the rest of the time left this year.

Finished another game with Odin Sphere Leifthrasir! I think the purples (especially the heart) makes it a good contender for deep purple?

 

 

 

I could realistically do some shuffling with other games I have completed, but I think it's looking pretty good so far. Really close to finishing my first rainbow, but green is kind of a tricky color to find.... Anyways...

 

Odin sphere follows 5 protagonists in a fantasy world full of fairies, magic, dragons and monsters of all kind living in a world of war, chaos, and destruction. The prophesy of the end of the world is coming true, and your 5 characters are trying to prevent it in their own ways (while getting in each other's way). It's a cool story with very cool characters. Part of me wishes that you could have played them out of order, but it is what it is.

 

The combat was fun. It felt like an adventure version of super smash bros but with more focus on fighting than platforming. Definitely would recommend if you like side scrolling beat'em up fighters or even arcade fighters tbh.

 

Anyways, updated list on recommendations!

 

Amazing: Persona 4 Golden, Tales of Arise

 

Great: Danganropa V3, 13 Sentinels, Doki Doki Literature Club, Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, Yakuza Like a Dragon, Atelier Escha and Logy

Only one that I think is too rough is Obra Dinn for Black - I think that would be better in for a Green, with Mummy Demastered shifted to Light Green (It's kind of a "mint green" which tends to fit for Light Green better).

 

That would leave you with only Maroon and Black to fill - however, should you have trouble finding games for those, I'd also point out that you could, if needed, easily shift Bloodstained from Pink to Black, to free up the pink slot - or even shift Bloodstained to Black, and Axiom Verge 2 to pink, freeing up Tan - so there's a lot of possibilities for finishing the card up...

 

...with just that Maroon one as the kicker (which is a thorn in everyone's side!)

Hmm, in that case the changes to my card will be the following (I'll post the actual card next time):

 

Green: Return of the Obra Dinn

Light Green: Mummy Demastered

Pink: Axiom Verge 2

Black: Bloodstained

 

Which leaves Tan and Maroon, and Maroon will be taken care of by Killer Frequency. As for Tan, any of the Voice of Cards games should work, right?

Finally finished my card: 

 

 

My final slot, yellow, went to Chants of Sennaar. This is a nifty little language-based puzzler that's based on the Tower of Babel story. Essentially, your character is working its way up a 'tower' and each section has a people who speak a different language, which you need to learn via puzzles, contextual clues and a bit of reasoning power. 

 

The obvious comparison is with Heaven's Vault, which had a similar premise. I really enjoyed both games, although I felt Heaven's Vault was superior overall. I only got stuck once on Chants of Sennaar. But apart from looking up that one solution, I worked through the game myself and it probably took about 15 hours. 

 

So that's me signing off for this event, I think. I may pop back in and swap out some colours with better-matching games. But I probably won't do another card, as I'm keen to play a few games in my backlog that aren't linked to PSNP competitions haha. 

 

Not gonna lie though, a few of my current colour choices aren't sitting too well. Great challenge though, @DrBloodmoney. It was a lot of fun.

Another progress update! This time I'm working on both my second and my third card. Will I finish both before the New Year? Stay tuned to find out 😄

 

Card #2

 

 

I've completed quite a few games since my last update. I've added Genshin for tan and the newly rereleased Jet Moto for yellow. Afterimage is a great Metroidvania if you're still looking for a maroon game. Gotham Knights is far from perfect but didn't deserve the amount of hate it received. It's an above average game that's great if you like the Gotham setting.

 

Card #3

 

 

Thank god for DLC. I've added the Gotham Knights DLC for purple and blue. Toem's DLC for grey.  Genshin Impact: Series IV will eventually be my green. Time to start treasure hunting for that last trophy. 

 

My choice for light blue was Little Nightmares II. A fun little game. Disgaea 7 was a breath of fresh air after how bad 6 was. Katamari, like always, is a gem of a game that shouldn't be passed up.

In my opinion it works because your game for yellow is way more yellow and yellow is adjacent to white. It basically steals the yellow from Jet Moto, leaving only the banner and the background which indeed work for white. At least that was my first impression when looking at it.

Blue - Rocket League (Dropshot DLC)

 

The Dropsshot DLC is the perfect shade of blue for this. This represents more than that though. In one single session, I completed 4 DLC's, the Plat and the 100% all in one go! I already had everything that could be done solo, Including Stocked which I got a week earlier just playing naturally. Just needed someone to trade and play the club stuff with. Very productive game session 😄

 

Need some help with Light Green, everyone. Takes me a long time to finish games and December is gonna get pretty busy. Currently playing Jurassic World Evolution 2. Anyone got any recommendations for Light Green that doesn't take too long and is not too pricey? And yes, I've already played Donut County last year 😄

 The Mummy Demastered is a quick little metroidvania, if you're into that genre. The only thing about that platinum is a trophy for a no-death run, so keep that in mind.

I finally got time to work on my card, and here it is, Okami completed after starting it years ago! What a great game! Each time I started the game those years ago I flushed it at the same point, every time some other game grabbed my attention and I just stopped playing. The game starts slowly, explaining the world, with several tutorials and it just didn't click for me. But this time, I got to the part where the story starts getting interesting and at the end, I was really invested.

 

A pity that I had to replay it a second time for 5-6 hours because I decided to skip one combat with a missable enemy, and the funny thing is that was the only combat I had skipped in the entire game (it was late and I just wanted to finish the dungeon... never again!).

Outer Wilds - Goddamn this game was incredible. Five days later and I'm still marveling at the journey this game took me through.

 

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart - I'm just going to repost what I said in the Trophies to Fight Cancer event:

 

Earlier this year I played Ratchet & Clank (2016). Even though the series is not the type of game I normally play, I figured I'd also give this game a shot as well since my husband owned it. Those who enjoyed the 2016 remaster/reimaging/re-whatever will definitely enjoy this game. I appreciated that the path to platinum was a little less grindy as well.

if you like monster hunter its visually an amazing game and can get it really cheap these days and the building aspect is really good to point i felt myself thinking how much i wish world had a similar mechanic.

also cross play so easy to play with friends and those most important in your life (deeply volatiles may result in heated moments though so heads up lol)  

also 1 final thing.  hook blade is 100% attack on titan and i loved using them

I don't even know when was my last update, but I'm missing 2 colors on my card (Deep Purple and Black) and almost without time to complete this + BingoBonanza2023 + GT Sport before the end of the month...

 

In the light of that, I want some feedback on Deep Purple..

 

I had planned Vambrace for it, since I will be using it for BingoBonanza2023, but for the event I only need 1 playthrough, not that platinum (that requires 3), thanks to this, I have been evaluating my options..

 

I put Street Fighter 6 Fighting Grounds DLC for Purple, and I eventually got SF6 platinum.

 

My question is: The SF6 platinum is acceptable for Deep Purple with SF6 Fighting Grounds DLC for Purple?

 

My other color missing is black, but I will see if I can 100% 1 of the Ride 3 DLC for it, since I think it's quicker than Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag Standalone DLC..

I decided to change "What Remains of Edith Finch" from grey to tan and put "The Turing Test" as grey.

And I'm including the PS5 version of "The Pedestrian" as yellow (i've already used the PS4 version in my first card) and the PS4 version of "Lake" as light green (I've also already used the PS5 version in my first card). I hope this is ok for you guys.

finally bringing in another and completing my first row with Diablo 4.

 

will say thanks to the season of blood its so much more fun/easier to plat and really enjoyable if you play with others like i did.

would have completed this a whole lot sooner also if i wasn't paid good money to keep killing my hardcore just as it was reaching lv50 for my last trophy

 

 

pretty sure i got an idea for green but really need to think of a nice light green and brown now that's quick enough to complete before end of the month lol which will be alot harder considering the new Ark games just came out and Pokemon's latest DLC is out in 10 days  so will be streaming that a little to much lol.
