Popular Post Beyondthegrave07
Game #8 - Tales of Arise Moved it under orange and Yakuza LAD to Yellow. I was really surprised originally that the rarity of this was 38% compared to all of the other games in the series until I played it... The game is just so fun and addicting. There's also no missables so I'm sure that contributes to it, but the trophies do force you to do everything in the game so it is quite the grind towards the end. However, the combat is so fun, the story is a bit dark and gritty, and the graphics and UI are really pleasing to the eye which makes up for any grind imo. The side missions are also really worth your time for extra money and SP so it makes a lot of sense that people did these as they went along. Anyways, I'm going to start up P4G and Danganropa V3 next. P4G will be a dupe (I'll probably switch it with Yakuza LAD tbh to make it more rainbowy) and I guess Danganropa V3 could go just about anywhere since it's a rainbow? I'll just use my gut on which one is most prominent and decide from there. Won't be finishing it anytime soon so I guess it's not really an issue atm. I may also sneak in A Monster's Expedition for green or light green during the summer season, but let's just take it one step at a time. Popular Post Redblaziken8
Deep Purple: Last Day of June This is a game I don't think I'd really recommend per say, it has a good message, but it's a bit too in your face with it and it could be a lot better if it was more subtle I believe. It's a game that's sort of like Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice I think, it's a game that has a darker story to tell and I believe it's more about trying to tell that story than actually having too much fun with the game. I'm glad I played this though, and it did have a nice soundtrack and a pretty unique art design, so even though it's really depressing, I'm glad it's on my list. Yellow: Borderlands 2 Finally got this 100% after having played about half an hour of it prior nearly 4 years ago now. Went back to this one and did the whole thing couch co-op with @rjkclarke. The 100% took us about 95 hours to complete, which isn't too bad considering we started it in February. This game is just super fun. The humour is great and my kind of humour, the gameplay is fun... playing as Salvador is super satisfying and that ability to Gunzerk just never gets old. Dual wielding two shot guns, or a Moxxi weapon and the Lady Fist weapon and getting some massive damage output is super fun. I think we both choose our characters well what with me being the short one who goes to the gym, and Rob picking Krieg, the muscular but skinny and tall one ?. We finished it off today with cleaning up the rest of the raid bosses, ending on the Terramorphous boss fight which was super fun and nice to get done on the first time. The Tiny Tina DLC was the best part of the DLC by far, and I'm excited to get round to playing Tiny Tina Wonderlands with him too, as well as the rest of the Borderlands games. Most of the DLC was pretty good as well, really enjoyable experience overall. Just a few more games left to go, I'm probably going to be playing Enslaved Odyssey to the West, Evoland, The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker and Flipping Death or GTA Vice City for my pink, we'll see! Looking forward to getting some more games completed and then moving on to a second rainbow ?. Nice to see all your updates, see you in the next one! Popular Post Taruta13
Finally got another update! For TAN, I platinumed Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered. Representing the fairy world is Ho-Oh, the legendary rainbow Phoenix. I think it's fitting considering that this was the first legendary Pokemon Ash Ketchum saw when his story began, at the end of episode one of the anime. His story has ended in Japan(and I like the new anime concept of the two young trainers with Paldea starters) but Ash Ketchum and Pikachu remind me a lot of Oliver and Drippy in this classic LEVEL-5 title. Unfortunately, Ash's mom did not die in episode one of the Pokemon anime. Ni No Kuni is a really grindy game and several parts like the required gambling(since no dupe glitch in this version) and getting lucky with the rare steals for rare items for alchemy were annoying. Only lost Solosseum S Rank once because I was foolish and didn't conserve Oliver's MP, but all in the end, managed to struggle through that since learning I could just cast Cloudburst and nix the stupid golden familiars. Fun RPG but not really conducive for trophies. I just tacked the sequel for KYC2023 and hoo boy, that's a pain and a half especially with the DLC... and I will have to platinum that game as well as leaving things off the record for good never sits with me. That brings my second card to halfway done, so I will probably not update for another month or so. Most of the games here will be RPGs so they will take a while to complete. Just hope to get something good done in the next six months. Current list: Light Blue: Asdivine Cross Orange: Disgaea 4 Complete+ Purple: Asdivine Saga Deep Purple: Ambition Record Pink: Final Fantasy II Light Green: Final Fantasy III Black: The Last Campfire Tan: Ni No Kuni Wrath of the White Witch Remastered Edited May 28, 2023 by Taruta13
Popular Post Platinum_Vice
Entry 5 ticked off: Elden Ring. Popular Post Xylobe
Two new colors for me this month: Metal: Hellsinger for red and Afterimage for maroon! The elevator pitch for Metal: Hellsinger is Doom but a rhythm game, and as a Seasoned Veteran™ of the FPS genre, I can say that it definitively delivers, probably (the "seasoned veteran" part was stolen valor; my only other FPS plat is Resistance: Burning Skies). I was a bit worried about difficulty, with it being a genre I'm so inexperienced with, but I'm a little more familiar with rhythm games and found those mechanics to be a helpful crutch. The music is obviously the game's biggest selling point, and it's... fine? When every 5-6 minute track is chopped up and looped over the course of a 15-20 minute stage and three 3-5 minute challenge stages, they end up wearing out their welcome. The best tracks are probably Stygia and This Devastation, but nothing that's making it into my regular rotation (for a bit of context, the only bands that I'm at all familiar with whose singers are featured are System of a Down and Jinjer). I'm generally of the perspective that metal is a tremendously dorky genre, so I tend to prefer the power metal school of leaning into it with pomp and bombast (see acts like Avantasia and Fellowship). The more self-serious style of other subgenres, like those in this game, comes across to me as, ironically, really goofy. Now, as an actual-no-for-real-this-time veteran of metroidvanias, I can confirm that Afterimage is a pretty good one! I've seen other fans of the genre claim it's the best since Hollow Knight, and while I definitely wouldn't go that far, I'd rank it second behind Axiom Verge 2 of the six I've played this year. Gorgeous art and an overwhelmingly large map to get lost exploring are huge plus sides, but the combat never really clicked for me, and that resulted in a pretty awful difficulty curve. Early and late game were both super easy, while the hardest bosses by far seemed to come back to back to back in the midgame (I died a few dozen times to the boss in Heart of Veins, and then never again for the last ~10 hours of my playthrough). An even bigger issue is the game's writing: combine a Souls-inspired desire to hide important lore in item descriptions, a heavy reliance on what I lovingly call "bullshit anime words" (e.g. what the hell is an "arteefax"???), and the fact that the voice actors seem to have been the only native English speakers who ever laid eyes on the script... it's tough to follow. If anyone decides to check it out - which I do recommend to genre fans! - I'd also recommend just mashing through dialogue to save yourself the headache.
Popular Post DrBloodmoney
Completing my first Rainbow, with Metal: Hellsinger! Finally got a Maroon... that was not as easy to find as one might think! Thought it would be FFVI, but I'm taking my sweet time with that one, so Metal: Hellsinger will do in the mean time! A cool concept for a game - DOOM as a Rhythm game - and has some good aspects (the music and the visual design are cool, and it moves really well)... but it's let down quite a bit by a very poorly implemented lag configuration tool, some truly appalling hit-boxing (some of the worst I've ever encountered!) and a bit of a lack of variety in environments, enemies, and boss design. Well, first rainbow complete - and on to the next one to get that Prestige! I've already got a few games done that were doublers, so will be throwing them onto a new card, and seeing where I end up... but that's for a future post! ?

Popular Post InfinateEternity
Hi, all! Congrats on all of the amazing progress and rainbow completions! It's been a long (almost) 4 months since I've updated. But, I've finally, finally, gotten my 5th game done. My updated checklist is in the spoiler at the bottom of this post. Kaleidoscope Progress: 5/16 Deep Purple (at least relative to my Purple choice!) Knockout City Where to begin with this one? Honestly, when this game was first distributed as a free game for PS Plus users back in November 2021, I did what I usually tend to do, and added the game to my library, intending to get to it "someday." That "someday" eventually came in February, when the developers announced the game was getting shutdown on June 6th. With 4 months to get the game done, I figured I'd give it a shot. And, to be fair, this game was quite a journey and ended up being a bit of a milestone for me, personally, on many levels. According to my profile's trophy log, it's the first Ultra-Rare Platinum I've gotten in almost 18 months, and I know it's the first 100% cooperative, online game I've actually finished the plat for, IIRC. (Seriously, thank you to all my crew mates and everyone who I played, and boosted, parts of this game with. You know who you are, and I appreciate it more than you know!) The gameplay was a fast, fun mix of team dodgeball and beat 'em up elements, and was relatively simple to learn (though admittedly a bit hard for me to master, lol). The most common mode had you team up with two other people to compete in 3v3 matches where the first team to get 10 KOs twice, would win. And, the developers played around with that, and expanded it to modes that were 4v4, and had special modifiers and balls you used, among other things. But, while Knockout City was great for what it was...the journey to the platinum was grindy and there was always a risk of at least one of your trophies being buggy and taking longer than expected to unlock. I experienced it with the daily and crew contract trophies myself, and know of others who had it happen with KO assists, for example. I'm grateful my final trophy (the 1000 KO assists) unlocked when expected. But, the buggy trophies added extra unnecessary stress to this game, especially when combined with some of the RNG madness that was also included in the trophy list. And, to be honest, I found myself worried, wondering if I'd be kicking myself for not playing this between April 2nd and May 25th / 26th due to a combination of burnout and getting distracted with other games. But, I lucked out, and can be glad that I did get it done. Also, I know I've been wordy. But, this final warning needs to be said just in case: Please note that if you are at all interested in getting this platinum before its server closure, you had to already have had the daily contract, crew contract, and season contract trophies completed before the end of the game's final season, which recently ended. Those contacts have since been removed from the game for its final event, which is currently ongoing. (Developer's Post - DangerSpice). If you're starting the game from scratch, the game's platinum is now unobtainable. Spoiler Edited May 29, 2023 by InfinateEternity Clarified that the developer's post I'm refering to is DangerSpice's post in the linked thread and corrected some dates.

Popular Post GT__Jedi
For my Red Entry: Valiant Hearts - The Great War. Nice game set during WW1, where you play the role of 4 characters: Frenchman Emile, his German son-in-law Karl, American soldier Freddie, and Belgian nurse Anna. And of course the best non-human character in the game: your canine companion. The artwork in the game was superb, the story followed the events of WW1 where I probably learned more about the War than anything that was taught in school. Excellent game and I highly recommend it. Most difficult part was Healing Hero trophy, as the QTEs could be hit or miss and the timing seemed to have a mind of its' own. I felt that trophy should of been a platinum in itself!
Popular Post Yen-Pop
Nine down, seven to go! I used LEGO Movie: The Videogame for Maroon, which I know is kinda half 'n half with blue (I have a feeling this conversation was brought up before but I couldn't find it in the thread, so maybe I'm just crazy/incorrect) so if it should be moved/fits another color better as previously decided (or not in case I just made that conversation up) please let me know! Honestly I just was really craving a mindless collect-a-thon romp that I could play in between job searching, and this fit perfectly. Definitely not my favorite Lego game - Lord knows I've played a ton of 'em at this point - but it was cute and fun and most importantly totally mindless enjoyment. Spoiler White: Chicory: A Colorful Tale Yellow: Yaga: Roots of Evil Tan: Twelve Minutes Orange: Stray Red: Pink: Paper Beasts Maroon: LEGO Movie: The Videogame Purple: Afterparty Deep Purple: Doctor Who: The Edge of Time Blue: Untitled Goose Game Light Blue: Horizon: Forbidden West Green: Light Green: Brown: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Grey: Chicken Police Black: Going Under

Here's how number 2 is looking so far: As you can see 7 more games... which with my custom means I need to rank them. Here it goes again: Humanity: Possibly my favourite game I've played this here, I was addicted when the game launched and am currently in the top 50 first completions. It's soooooo good. Sayonara Wild Hearts: Some awesome music and incredible rhythm game set pieces, I bought this game from Cex for £5, It's an absolute steal at that cost. Solitaire Conspiracy: It's a shame that no Mike Bithel game I've played has been as engaging as Thomas was alone, but this game continued the trend of including youtubers in the game, but they dropped Danny Wallace! Just for that it's the worst Bithel game I've played. Mini List time for Bithel games I've played Thomas was Alone. So Good, Chris was my Husbando in that game, I think. Volume. Quit good, this is probably the only game where James Stephanie Sterling will ever act alongside Andy Serkis Solitaire Conspiracy. It's alright, I was said to hold the ultimate power in my hands but I literally was just playing Solitaire Gris: It's very pretty, like super pretty. Geometric Sniper: Blood in Paris: A eye spy game that I got for free, I did a review for the publishers here, TLDR good, 7/10 Freddie Spaghetti 2: The first game was a cool little rage game that got genuinely tricky inspired by Octodad and I am Bread, This one is just a parody of the Office, majorly disappointing. Gabbuchi: The puzzles were hard and the game was leaving PS Plus, I skipped them.
