Anyways, I am taking a bit of a breather, going to work on KH3 for my 200th platinum and then we'll go from there. I am also working on getting further in FFXIV.

Popular Post grumpaluffagus_1
Update #2 Horizon Zero Dawn - 8-->11% The Witcher 3 - 12% Hogwarts Legacy - 25-->40% Immortals: Fenyx Rising - 9% Kingdom Hearts - 10% Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order - 0% Well, I finished my third and final partial playthrough in Hogwarts Legacy with Hufflepuff, and that house quest did not disappoint. I still love exploring the world, but I am having trouble forcing myself to care about the Ranrok storyline. My goal for this week is to finish the main story and all relationship questlines, so that all I have left is collectibles and a few random side quests. Also, played about 30 minutes of Horizon Zero Dawn which was enough to start checking off a few collectibles and other side objectives, but didn't have enough time to do anything more substantial.

I thought I knew what this game was about. It turns out, I had absolutely no idea what this game was about. And I don't really know how I kept myself so sheltered from it, honestly. All I ever heard was how great the game was (it was great) and how much people liked it (I liked it). If you, too, would like to keep yourself sheltered, I'll put some things under the spoiler tag: Spoiler The game starts with a green light shooting through the sky, signaling the arrival of the aliens, which I thought was hilarious given the recent green light shooting through the sky and potential aliens in Las Vegas, Nevada. I had no idea this whole thing was about space aliens, not a clue, so I was shocked pretty much the whole first half of the game. I didn't really look at a guide until I got to the second alien world, even then I looked for the more missable things (the only thing I might have missed would be jumping on the arch). I found the game so relaxing, playing the guitar through all the planets was a lot of fun, and I highly recommend it if you're looking for a game to calm down with, or play in between something stressful. It also has some great lines, like the one above. As for Gotham Knights, I really enjoyed the platinum experience. If you're looking for a story, some fun gameplay, and don't give a crap about DLC, I 100% recommend it. I do not recommend the 100%. The DLC is a complete grind. It's not fun, it's just fight after fight. I was worried about getting enough power levels to keep playing, but you just get more and more leveled up armor and mods with each floor (especially if you pick up the treasures), so it's nothing to worry about. It's just so freaking boring. I finished Heroic Assault, but still need to do the Kelvin Incident, which is MORE OF THE SAME. I definitely don't think I would be doing all of the DLC for this if it weren't for this challenge. I started up Lego Batman 3, and Uncharted 4. I love the Lego formula, I love checking off the collectables, I will buy and play every one of these games, so not too much to say here. I did the multiplayer for Uncharted 4 years ago (minus Crushing...It, which I doubt I will grind through for this challenge, Gotham Knights is enough!), but I never played the story, because I got stuck on Crushing in UC 3. I finally finished that a couple months ago, so I figured I would start this one up again! On chapter 5 and enjoying it so far. Also, Happy Father's Day to all the current Dads, future Dads, dog Dads, and those who want to be Dads!
Popular Post NillerKasket
UPDATE #4 Little bit of progress through a few games. I have reached the last couple of trophies for the plat in Horizon Chase Turbo, started online in Battlefield 1, continued in the campaign of Titanfall 2 on Master difficulty. And last I finished episode 1 and all collectibles of Life is Strange 2. I am trying to mix-up the games so I dont get horribly bored by every single one. Popular Post Vanqishd
Second update on my end with another game finished ? Final Fantasy XVI (PS5) - 0% (22nd June) Cat Quest (PS4) - 0% -> 100% Horizon Forbidden West (PS5) - 21% God of War (PSVita) - 12% Anthem (PS4) - 40% -> 100% Minecraft Dungeons (PS4) - 8% -> 10% -> 27% Cat Quest II (PS4) - 0% -> 4% On the one hand, a tiny bit more progress on Minecraft Dungeons (I finished the story on the first difficulty) and will be working on the side through the other two remaining. It does feel like the XP gain has been reduced or something, as I don't seem to progress item-level-wise as fast as the game increases the difficulty, but that might just bee my feeling. It does feel sort of weird. On the other hand, I have finally platinumed Anthem. I had it on my Spring Backlog Challenge, but didn't get around to it. It's finally completed after a bit more than four years. This game got TONS of hate, and honestly, it was justified in terms of the overpromise and underdeliver dynamic we've seen in many other games (No Man's Sky, Cyberpunk, Watch Dogs are some that come to mind). The enemy variety is very poor, there are only about 10-12 different enemies. The mission types are very lackluster and repetitive, there are basically 4-5 different mission layouts. HOWEVER, the gunplay is great (good weapon variety, lots of abilities, and character build customization) and the whole flying mechanic is also fantastic. Honestly, traversing in this game feels GREAT. The world is on the prettier side, although as usual, it's very empty. I wish Anthem NEXT wasn't canceled and we could've seen more about this game. It does really have potential in my eyes, but it's dead now. As for the platinum, the collectible grind was annoying but luckily it can be sped up through glitching respawns by reloading areas. I'd say if you craft a legendary weapon and speedrun through the game, you can get it done within 30-40 hours rather than the 70 that are in the guide. I'd say it's a GREAT pickup for the 1-2 bucks it usually costs ? And lastly... Final Fantasy XVI is almost here. I'm very excited. I haven't even tried the demo nor seen any videos to go in fully blind. I hope it's going to be great. If I'm very into it, I might very well try writing a guide on the site for this one as well. I'll probably be cleaning up some other DLCs or something before its release, so I don't think I'll have another update for a good two or three weeks. Hopefully y'all are also looking forward to this game!

Hot Wheels Unleashed was a pretty fun for what is was, an arcade racer. It was a little grind for the gears in the end. Fair play to anyone who got the platinum before when you could only earn 50 coins per race... Now that would have been a grind. All I've left to do for Beat Saber is to play for another 15 hours and I will have the platinum. I won't be playing it this week though as I've too much IRL stuff to do. Haven't played Two Point Campus since launch, so I went back and started it up again last night. I was hoping I'd have the plat and DLC done this week but after going back to it, I'm not sure I'll have enough time with the other games I'm boosting that are not part of this event. Keep up the good work everyone and I will catch you all again next week ?
Popular Post reaperveteran86
Update 3: - Afterimage 8% - Agony 0% - Assassin`s Creed Origins 30% -> 51% - Clid the Snail 100% - G Darius HD (EU) 29% - Handball 16 (PS4) 3% - Maglam Lord 0% -> 5% - Shadow of the Tomb Raider 0% - Summer in Mara 100% - The Diofield Chronicles (PS4) 0% - The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 2 (PS4) 0% - Valkyrie Elysium (PS4) 6% -> 26% I played a lot of AC Origins this week, have allmost finished the story and hope to get the platinum this week. It is a really fun game but not my favourite in the series (that will be AC 2), but after so much time playing it (I`m 50 hours in) I can say that the "If Ubisoft made Elden Ring" meme is an Understatement, as this game really likes to patronize its players. Like I wrote in the last post, I clear every location in a new region to minimize the post game grind, and I do so without selecting a quest as this bannishes the (in this situation unhelpful) questmarker from the screen. But now the game flashes a message every few minutes, that I can select a quest in the quest menu. The same goes for other actions as moving near a quest location ("you can press up to locate your target with your eagle" or "a inactive quest is near, you can make it active in the quest menu") or every time entering a darker place ("you can press -> to equip your torch"). I tried to disable these messages in the options, but I couldn`t find a way to do so. Oh, and every time you swim in a river or a lake, the game sends a boat after you, that aggressively tries to cut in my way, and tries to force me to use it. One time I had enough, got on the boat killed the driver and then got back in the water to continue my swimming, only for the game to send another boat after me just a few seconds later. I also continued Valkyrie Elysium and have finished 5 chapters (out of 9) on my normal playthrough. Fun game and definitely not as bad as the Internet tries to make it out to be, but it plays more like a slower Devil May Cry and less then a typical (action) rpg in my opinion. And I started Maglam Lord yesterday and finished the prolouge and the first chapter. It is to early to say if it`s good but the combat reminded me on a simplified Tales of Phantasia (GBA), slowdowns included (but not as many as ToP GBA).

I did get back to Catherine though, easy mode is too easy, I’ve now gotten golds on all easy levels and it’s given me false confidence that I’ll tear through the rest of the difficulties. I got 5 more endings doing a good karma playthrough with strategic saves. My favourite endings so far have been True Rin and New Catherine. I’m going to try to finish the endings and hopefully finish the first half of Rapunzel. I’ll also almost definitely need to follow videos for getting gold in hard difficulty. I also went and got the 100% on BF3, which was soooo much boosting and I'm glad that's over with. The single player and co-op missions were pretty enjoyable though, so I'm glad I had some fun with it. Met some really nice people boosting too. And I got myself an 11 years 5 months 100%, so that's pretty awesome! So looks like I'll be starting the next TR game and Monkey Island soon when I get off my quest for increasing my completion percentage! I should probably play some of these games on my list so I'm not just saying no progress this week, every week ?. I am going to be making a few swaps already as I have fallen deep down the MHW/Iceborne rabbit hole lately. It has been a ton of fun but I would like to knock them out finally by end of summer. It was an interesting system they experimented with in this game, moving towards a skill usage system vs a progression system, but it did take a little bit to get used to and figure out how to level up certain stats. The story was kind of meh, especially the Leon portion, it kind of left you hanging on how he ended up being the dark knight. I also started Final Fantasy III for the first time as well. While I am certainly more familiar with the job system from other Final Fantasy Titles (Tactics and XII Zodiac Age) it will be interesting to see how they first sought to implement it vs how it is used later on, especially when I get to FFV later this summer. But I am currently in finals mode right now, so I have only been able to put in a couple of hours into this game so far.

I haven’t really got going in this challenge yet but with exam season just about over work is winding down so I should start to accelerate soon. Since the start of the challenge I’ve finished the pixel remaster of Final Fantasy II, started Final Fantasy III, gotten most of the way through the 1st DLC of Wasteland 3, have done all but the final two missions in Syphon Filter, Completed the first zone in Concrete Genie, just started the 3rd sequence in Humanity, and on around the 3rd or 4th area in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. Given there is a lot to do I’m trying not to burn out on any one game so trying to work through a few at a time, with some success. To complicate matters a bit though, and another reason for the scattershot method, is that I have for a long while wanted my 200th Platinum to be Final Fantasy XIV. I’m currently sitting on 194, so I need to time things and think ahead a bit, because I would really rather not get locked in a long grind. I finished up the collectible grind last weekend and just have fates and to kill Ifrit another 600 times. I’ll plan to give thoughts on games when I finish them, otherwise I’ll be repeating myself often, so here we go. Completion 1: Final Fantasy II With the exception of the remake of FF3 on the DS, I had never played any of the first 6 Final Fantasy games. It has certainly been interesting so far going through them and given the original versions were on the famicom it is quite astonishing just how much depth there is to the game. It is lacking by modern standards but when you consider that even something so simple as a save game was a novelty at the time it is really amazing how much they packed in. The story feels a bit more fleshed out than its predecessor and while the levelling system is controversial and slightly odd it does have the benefit of making your characters feel personally moulded by you. I don’t think it is any coincidence that modern first-person RPGs like Skyrim (assuming that is still modern?!) went back to this system. Overall I don’t think it deserves its rather “black sheep” reputation and if you are interested in the beginnings of Final Fantasy it is a fascinating look at Square’s first big experiment. Just make sure you look up the site’s really excellent walkthrough for the permanently missable chests and monsters!

As you'd expect, both games now pack higher frame-rates and resolution, which were nice. I played the PSN version of Klonoa 1 on Vita last year and loved it. Playing it again was a pleasure and it looks better than ever too. The gameplay, music, and artstyle were all amazing and compliment the dreamy feel of the game. It was my first time playing Klonoa 2 (read lots of good things about it) and it was just as amazing as the first. Loved Klonoa's redesign, the hoverboard levels, and new characters. The story was a lot more interesting too with a sad ending. All in all, both games were a fun time.

Popular Post Vulpine9Tails
What the heck I'll join. Only attempting 5 games since FFXVI is out soon. I'm not adding it to my list as I don't want to rush through it. My list being: 1) Cat Quest 2 - 0% 2) Ty the Tasmanian Tiger - 0% 3) Meow Motors - 0% 4) Hogwarts Legacy - 10% 5) Evoland - 40% I've actually been wanting to play Hogwarts again so hopefully I don't push it off like I did during the Spring challenge. I'm also doing the animal charity event on this site so I wanted to include three animal games that I know I can complete so I can get a badge there.

I did get every other trophy but the Wayward Adventurer did not pop. I panicked... and my fears were realized. I missed a damn Chocobo Stable in the WORLD OF BALANCE. I do have a save before going to the Floating Continent, but it really angers me that I have to redo the entire World of Ruin up to Kefka's Tower, including all the hidden dungeons, because I missed a damn stable in the WoB. To be fair, I dodged a lot of bullets in the Pixel Remasters for Wayward Adventurer, so if I ended up failing that trophy, it was gonna be in FFVI because there are so many darn locations and you have to enter every chocobo stable. ? I am demotivated to go through half the game again so I am putting that down for now and working on games I have to get to work on like my #200(Kingdom Hearts III) and FFXIV, which is more fun. Once I detox, I will try to just speedrun World of Ruin. EDIT: Well, that's done. Turns out I didn't need to revisit every place in the World of Ruin, I just had to hit that Chocobo Stable in the World of Balance(it was next to Tzen) and one that was sneakily hidden south of Phoenix Cave in the World of Ruin and the trophy popped. Seriously, this game is very trolly with the missables. But at least I can now say that I am done with Pixel Remasters... unless Square-Enix decided to remaster the six Dragon Quest games in the same way because Dragon Quest is my first love. I don't have to use a swap on FFVI, which is good as I decided to use my first swap on FFXII because I realize that platinuming the Zodiac Age, even with 4x speed(which I can't trust as I might run into encounters by accident) is going to take months, especially since the Concurrences are even more RNG than the Joker's Death as I can't hit the right moves to save my life. So instead, I'm going to swap in my planned 200th platinum, Kingdom Hearts III, as that milestone is deserved for one of my favorite series.
