Alayaes Posted June 21, 2023 Share Posted June 21, 2023 This seems rather exciting. I like how they're handling NG+ so far from what I'm hearing. We'll see how it plays out, I guess. This is what I've heard thus far. Final Fantasy Mode is a Hard mode you can access after completing the game & selecting New Game + Higher Enemy Levels Level cap raised to 100 Ultima Weapon available for crafting Level, Possessions & abilities carried over There's an even higher level of difficulty called Ultimaniac, but no trophy for that it seems. 4 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Like, maybe they are cool on short games like Resident Evil, but a NewGame+ on Role Playing games. Infact every game needs to stop with them, games are already a bit too long these days as it is, and usually inflated by pointless grind rather than great content, NG+ is making that problem even worse. Having to play FF7 remake again on Hard mode sucked. Especially since it was mostly frustrating rather than being fun kind of hard. Popular Post dezzed Posted June 21, 2023 Popular Post Share Posted June 21, 2023 I do completely understand where the annoyance about NG+ trophies come for many people, especially in big JRPG's such as this one. But at the same time, you should look at it from the other way. It is nice to be rewarded for doing an additional playthrough of the game, especially one that changes the game in some meaningful ways! Plus, you don't have to do it right away. Me personally, I will probably play it through a second time right away because I am immensely excited about this game, but beating it once and taking a break in between the first and second playthroughs is probably the best way to go about it for many people. Me personally, I have done NG+ on FF7 remake both on the PS4 version when it originally came out and on PS5 when it got ported, but I am a sucker for Squeenix games 7 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It’s like people just want to get handed a Platinum trophy for doing the bare minimum. It’s quite sad really. This is shaping up to be one of the best games of the year and is an absolute win for Sony yet people are complaining they’ll have to play it twice. I don’t get it; I played through FF7 Remake like 4 separate times across the PS4/5 versions and I’ll probably play it again some time before Rebirth comes out. I just think people want to earn Platinum’s for doing the bare minimum nowadays. It’s less about the Prestige of having a time consuming or difficult Platinum and more about passing your numbers with quick, easy completions. I only have 30 Platinum’s, I’m working on multiple others but I love working to earn all the trophies, and I love when games require multiple playthroughs, 100% playthroughs etc. as it gives me a reason to experience everything. It’s a shame so many here seem to be completely passing on what looks to be a truly amazing game, purely because they can’t Platinum the game in a single playthrough. Like if it wasn’t a bloody JRPG maybe I’d understand but come along now; Final Fantasy games are well-known for usually requiring a minimum of 100 hours to Platinum, this looks no different. However, I understand why people wouldn’t want to play another playthrough.
