freddie1989 Posted March 21 Share Posted March 21 I am easy with whatever is decided regarding structure, this is a bit of fun for me and I don't have the time available to actually be competitive anyway. The golden games scenario I think is interesting, the game choice not so. I like the earlier suggestion of PS+ catalogue choices which would increase the amount who own the games. Unlike most sports events, being in a higher seed grants you certain advantage. In THL, being in the higher league doesn't grant you any advantage in CWC. On the contrary, you might face more competitive players during the season since all the participants were previous league champions. Same thing with the new structure, dividing league based on the scores which makes high score league incredibly competitive. If the goal is to win CWC, people could intentionally slack for a season. Then, staying in the lower league while preparing for CWC. I don't like golden game idea is because it's not fair. If both players have the access to the same game, I am fine with it. If one has completed the game already, it's just unfair. Season 41 starts on May 1st! Sign-ups are closed so the participant list has been finalized. Anyone interested to join the league can be put on the waiting list for season 42. For this season, all 4 leagues will feature 10 participants each so you will face every other participant in your league once this season. This means that this season will consist of 9 consecutive fixtures for all leagues. After careful consideration, we have decided to redivide all current participants between the 4 leagues based on individual scores in the team league special as mentioned earlier. This is a one-time thing. From now onwards, promotion and relegation rules will apply again just like they did prior to season 40. Overall I'd say the introduction of this mutator was a success, but it does need some tweaking. The 'random' Golden Game introduced during the Team League special, picked from the current PSNProfiles' Popular Games This Week section, will remain active. Additionally, this season each participant gets to submit one game for Golden Game before the season start. Each fixture, one game will be chosen at random from the list provided by participants which will act as the second Golden Game for that fixture. This means that every fixture there are two Golden Games, one 'popular' game chosen at random and one participant submission chosen at random. Golden Games cannot appear twice within a season. If there happens to be overlap between the randomly picked 'popular' game and the randomly picked participant submission, a new game will be randomly picked the second time a game appears. If, for whatever reason, there are less than 9 participant submissions for the second Golden Game, THL staff will pick a second Golden Game from the popular games section at random. The rest of the Golden Games rules will remain the same. Both Golden Games will still be worth double points and the mutator will not be active during the CWC. Participants have until the 30th of April 6PM UTC +0:00 to submit a Golden Game. Only submissions posted in this thread will be accepted. Submissions in DMs etcetera will be ignored. Season schedule Fixture 1 - May 1 -4 Fixture 2 - May 6 - 9 Fixture 3 - May 11 - 14 Fixture 4 - May 16 - 19 Fixture 5 - May 21 - 24 Fixture 6 - May 26 - 29 Fixture 7 - May 31 - June 3 Fixture 8 - June 5 - 8 Fixture 9 - June 10 - 13 CWC - June 15 - 17 Also, don't forget that we have the Discord bot integration for semi-live score updates (introduced in season 33).
