Popular Post shadaik
#92 Dreaming Sarah Wake Up! That game was thoroughly okay. Basically a short puzzle in the form of a platformer, it feels kind of like there is a story here, but I don't really get it. I guess it's technically a metroidvania and it looks really nice with some nice ideas, it's just insanely short for that genre. Feels more like somebody learning how to make a platformer - which is valid, just not something I expect to see on a console. Side note: Gaining the bullet unlocked the Bus Ticket trophy and vice versa. That was odd. At first I thought using a bullet as a bus ticket is a bit dark, then I found the bus ticket item and realized the trophies just got swapped. Popular Post Sinastran
#100 My 100th platinum. A big milestone for many people I imagine, including me. I actually do feel a bit different now that I've reached the triple digits. Took a while, too... I debated which game deserved to be commemorated with such an illustrious spot. My first and second choices were Alan Wake and Mass Effect 2. Both games are personal favourites of mine, but I also wanted to wait and play those games on my future PS5 for the better performance. That realization left me at a bit of a loss to be honest... I tried to brainstorm some titles to choose from but came up empty. Then I began to scroll through my library and saw L.A. Noire and just thought, "Well of course it's gotta be this one!". Loved the game when it first came out, and I believe it was the first game I 100%'ed on the 360. Going back to this game after all these years has been a blast (aside from the film reels...)! The game has aged really well. The facial animations were a big talking point back then and while they definitely have a lot of weirdness to them with modern optics, it's a fun bit of video game history to relive. What remains flawless however is the writing and the voice acting. Holy shit is it still amazing. And I'm sure my fellow Mad Men fans had fun spotting one actor after the other appear in the game. The dialogue is quite colourful. Far too colourful to have been made today (by a AAA developer in any case) but the feeling that was left with me this time around was just how... unapologetic and neutral the game portrays the language and views of the time. It's not trying to lecture you or the characters, it's just showing you how things were. I found it incredibly refreshing. Maybe I'll replay it in another decade or so, just to see if it still holds up and entertains. Anyways, now I'm off to force feed my cat some penicillin. Fun! Popular Post leobellia-leobel
#43 Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty Against All Odds When I was little, I played Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, and even though I was really bad at it, I had a lot of fun and grew very fond of this game. I also tried Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus, but not for long because my PlayStation 1 broke. Being able to play "Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty!" was an honor that brought back memories of my childhood, and it turned out to be one of the most satisfying games I've ever platinated. It took me years to platin it because I wanted to enjoy it first without any spoilers and play it without tutorials, but I couldn't resist and stopped playing for a while. Only recently, I decided to commit to it and completed the initial playthrough without tutorials. Then, I used the chapter select to complete it 100%. Later on, I did a speedrun, followed by another playthrough to experience the alternate ending and collect the remaining trophies. I enjoyed it immensely, and I can't wait to start Oddworld: Soulstorm and try to platin it to get the most out of this experience.

Popular Post Arzoden
-----PLATINUM #106 | PLATINUM Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 2019----- Wooow Call of duty Modern warfare 2019, this was a huge enjoyment to play and came totally unexpected Although it strikes me that this is a alternative universe of some sort, i really liked the storyline. Not as much as the original i think but it was very solid and kept me entertained the entire way! Let's first talk about the graphics, they are insane... Everything from face details to water, grass, grain, sand, flames etc it all looks so good. the weapon details are also pretty crazy, the cutscenes look almost real. Now to the movments and combat, as for movement it was fluid and top tier, i did dislike that there was not so many vaulting options but other than that i have really no complains. The combat is 100% some of the more polished call of duty combat i've seen, really made me get immersed. I was a bit sad that we did not get to play with or as Soap / Ghost etc, and i'm kinda confused on how kyle is Gaz but it's fine, i heard MW2 has both so i will enjoy playing that as my next call of duty game. I will say that the first couple of missions do have a repetitive feel to it if you pay close enough attention, it's mostly stealth / Run and gun, and you get some bombing and sniping mission later, it's quite fun regardless of how non unique a mission feels at times All in all i really enjoyed this game and i think everyone should play it at least once, i'm glad i bought it and platinumed it and will be looking forward to MW2 2022 Here are my ratings ------------------------------- Enjoyment 9/10 Difficulty 5/10 Music 8/10 Story 8/10 It took me 15 hours to obtain the Platinum Trophy Edited July 27, 2023 by Arzoden
Popular Post Mr_Fluffy_Pants_
191 & 192 - The Creepy Syndrome Decent game that’s a horror anthology, 4 games rolled into one basically. One looks and plays like an old 3D dos game, the second like a top down adventure with 70s Atari graphics, the third like a point and click adventure, and the last like a 16 bit side scroller. None are very long, but you have to play three twice and one three times to get the different endings. The retro vibe and horror elements ticked a couple boxes for me and I wasn’t disappointed. Definitely worth the $6 I paid for this. Cross buy as well so you get both PS5 and PS4 versions with one purchase, which I’m always a fan of. I recommend this game. Popular Post whodeygamer
#57: Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy This is a game that I never got to play when I was younger, but since I have PS Plus Premium, I figured I’d go ahead and give it a shot. I’ll be honest, the camera rotation controls are pretty much the opposite of what I’m used to in video games and since I couldn’t find an option to change that, it made the experience a lot more annoying than it should’ve been.

Popular Post Herbset
#39 "Just do it!" Beholder 2 Took me over a year to get it, not because it is hard but because it is rather dull. I could not make myself replay it after getting killed for not paying taxes. I enjoyed the first Beholder very much, as it seems to be loosely based on the movie Das Leben der Anderen which is one of my favorites. The second installment of the game is not as interesting as its predecessor and I just did not care for the protagonist at all. I highly doubt I will play the 3rd one.

Popular Post No longer here
#204 - Rogue Legacy 2 (PS5) Rating/Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 6/10 Time: 60 Hours PSNP Rarity: 5.55% PSN Rarity: 0.3% Finally the sequel of RL1 came to PS extra and it was free! I will gladly say that the game improves on everything fro their predecessor! It is not only one of the most addicting games I played in a min, but one of the best rogue-lites in general! They got a lot of things done right for sure! the combat is more fluid and the different options with other characters make it more interesting. The platforming in the levels are fun and fair. The story and bosses which imo was one of the best improvements from last game. The bosses are really fun to fight and they have great movesets where you can practice and become better at it! Their designs are great but their prime versions are even cooler and more challenging and rewarding to go up against. The regular regular enemies are great too for the most part, the later enemies can be brutal but nothing too crazy. The relics and traits were good for the most part too and allowed for some depth in the rogue style. The best thing about this game tho in my opinion is the meta progression and overall replayability of the game! The game has an awesome loop and it never got boring to me, i guess you can say I really enjoyed this game so much. Not everything is perfect ofc, there is a grind that put me off for a few on leveling up because it takes so much money later on! Investing in the wrong upgrades can damage you. There are a few bosses that were more annoying than fun, And I didn't like the last biome in the game imo. This was the main part on why I couldn't give it a 10/10, however, the good for sure outweighs the bad!! Overall, especially if you're a rogue-lite fan, get this game! I recommend this to anyone also whoever has an interest in the genre and want to be spoiled with a good time!
Popular Post ggalan__
RACHET & CLANK: RIFT APART I decided to start playing this game despite not having played any rachet & clank game before because all the reviews I read or saw were good. I have to say that this game surprised me for good. It is one of the few games that plays with what the PS5 can do, since despite having been released almost 3 years ago, there are still almost no games that are exclusive to this generation that take advantage of what can this console do. The game looks spectacular graphically and the textures of the characters are impressive. It is very colorful, which makes it very beautiful and seems to be full of life in every corner of each of the planets, which are very different from each other. I liked the weapons that you unlock throughout the game, although in the end I have always used the same 3 or 4, which have very good effects when shooting. One of the bad things about this game is the length. It took me 16 hour to get platinum and I played at a normal pace exploring everything. Despite that, I would recommend anyone to try it, because it's a very very good game. Edited July 27, 2023 by ggalan__

Love these games but i kind to have to space these games out(particular bn 4 with its 3 playthroughs) because the next volume has 2 games that are reasonably grindy(bn 4 and 6 have a few grindy trophies with 4 requiring all common chips and a trophy in bn 6 secretly require collecting all mega chips to access the graveyard) since its probably double the time it took to plat vol 1 so i may save vol 2 for plat 1000 and do 1 game every 20-30 plats to not burn myself out.

Popular Post RotatingCube
#150-152 Dandara (PS4), The Messenger (PS4), Axiom Verge 2 (PS5) All three of my recent platinums are Metroidvania's. It's one of my favorite genres, so a game of this type would have to be incredibly awful for me to hate it. Fortunately, all three are not. Dandara – Now this is definitely one of the more unique Metroidvania's out there. The story isn't anything new and the game clearly borrowed the Dark Soul save system (camping revives all non-boss enemies, dying leaves your spirit with all your currency etc). What IS different about it is that Dandara, the main character, cannot walk, run, jump, or fly. Instead you can only stick to certain surfaces and launch yourself a certain distance from it to another similar surface. If you get hit mid launch, you float in place until you launch yourself again. It gives a different vibe to the battles and the puzzles and that takes a bit of getting used to but it's pretty fun all things considered. One thing though: likely because of the different style, the controls could have been a bit more refined. The Messenger – This is basically classic Ninja Gaiden turned into a metroidvania. I mean it's about a ninja fighting against demons just with a lot of tongue-in-cheek humor mixed in. The game even acknowledges the influence in in-game text. In fact the first half of the game plays more like a NES Ninja gaiden game since at that point it is very linear. It opens up in the second half though. The platinum for this game isn't too hard to get despite the fact that you will die – A LOT; some from trying to learn the boss fight patterns but mostly from failing the platforming in this game. The Messenger loves to place you in situations (especially with the medals) where you have to do things exactly right or else you'll fall into an endless pit/spikes or get crushed by hazards. Fortunately, the game is very generous with the checkpoints. Axiom Verge 2 – My feelings for this one is a bit complicated largely because it's a sequel of a game that I really, really like. The two games are connected plot-wise but in terms of gameplay they couldn't be more different. For example, the first Axiom Verge focused on range weaponry with a lot of power up variants (too many IMHO especially since a lot of them were only accessible very late in the game). In the sequel, you use mostly melee attacks with only four different types and the only real range attack you have is a boomerang. Bosses too seem to be afterthoughts since you can just completely ignore most of them except the last one because you're not locked in their room. You could beat them to earn items that increase skill points but you don't have to. Basically the sequel seems to focus more on exploration Don't get me wrong, exploring is an important part of metroidvania's (I like the breach map that's only accessible by your drone) but not at the expense of combat. If it seems like I am hating on this game, I am not really. It is a good game, it just feels like a letdown from the first. I'm probably not the only who thinks this way since I observed Axiom Verge 2 seems to have a muted reception at least from gaming sites I visit.

It has worked terrifically over the past few years, with hardly ever a dud. But this works the other way around as well; positive surprises, from a game blowing me away from low expectations, are also few and far between. But for a Ubisoft-made open world title to completely thrill me from pressing start all the way until the Platinum? When I am a fervent hater of the original Assassin's Creed titles and all the other open world bloat they spawned? Truly, the world has gone mad! Or I have! It's more likely that it's me, really. But here we are, Riders Republic is a bloated Ubisoft open world, and it is bloody damn good. A few mountain regions and climates from all over the world smashed together into one map, with players able to switch between skis, snowboards, BMX and regular bikes, and even wingsuits as they traverse the map following pre-set courses via races and trick competitions. Outside of events, full free roam is in effect with plenty of collectibles to be nabbed - although you're only required to find 200 out of 350 or so. Yeah, I really struggle to comprehend how I could have ended up enjoying the game this much - across PS4 and PS5 with cross-progression in effect for most Trophies. Do 30 of X task on one stack, then do it a 31st time on the other stack, and you'll have gotten the same Trophy twice. This makes it a very rewarding experience in terms of Trophy points, but the requirements on the relatively short Trophy list really weren't that bad. Sure, yeah, lots of pointless collectibles to find, but otherwise you're mostly nabbing participation prizes rather than anything particularly difficult. In fact, one of the hardest parts of the list is finding enough players in matchmaking to start a match for one of the game's dead side-modes. Besides being forced into dead modes, there's also a massive grind involved in playing fifty 'Mass Races', which pit you against 63 other players as you all hurtle down a mountain. You need to play fifty of them, a single one of them takes about 15 minutes to complete start to finish across three heats, and they only start every half hour - so you cannot just matchmake whenever you want to. But I ended up really, really enjoying them and even won one of them about two/thirds through the grind. Still doesn't explain quite why I enjoyed my fourty-ish hours with the game so much, but perhaps its the gameplay loop of constantly switching between sports across quick events with very Trophy-hunter-friendly requirements that ended up speaking to me. I accessed the game for free via PS Plus Extra, it should still be available there as well, so if the above has made you curious, I'd very much recommend you check it out, if only via dummy account so it doesn't go against your Trophy collection. It does take a while for certain things to click - the game's opening 'story' is very poorly acted and rather cringe, but ultimately you are rewarded with a very competent extreme sports game and nicely crafted open world. Two thumbs up from me - and another Ultra Rare Plat in the pocket as both stacks keep seeing their rarities lowered with the PS4 Plat now having dipped below 5.00%.
