Popular Post Dr_Mayus
#170-Tales of Hearts R I loved this game. This is probably my second favourite Tales game (after Symphonia). I found the characters to be all enjoyable, the story was your standard Tales story but the characters made it work. Speaking of the characters you had the Tales Game Roll Call going on here Wide Eyed Hero, Reserved Girl with a Secret, Protective Brother/Friend, Battle Hardened Knight, Bad Guy turned Good Guy, Milf, Loli, Alien/Robot but as I said I didn't care because I really liked all 8 of them . The fighting mechanics were good but I found that less strategy was needed here. I was playing on Hard for most of the game (and actually switched up to Manic on my second playthrough) and I found that mashing X and Square solved most battles. I didn't have to set my AI strategy up to win any fight...except the last boss. The problem was the rest of the game didn't leave me prepared for the final boss on Unknown and that was actually a challenge. It was a 2 part fight and he hits hard and fast. I liked that an Airship was used, more RPGs need a real Airship to allow you to fly around the world (and not just select where you want to go on a checklist). Finally, the Balloon game...this was awful. It actually wasn't that hard once you had the right Artes but the problem was the targeting system. It just targeted whatever the fuck it wanted to and it made me lose more often than not. A real shame that that was included as otherwise I would say this was a near perfect plat (the right difficulty, not too much grinding or collectibles and fun game all around). So if you have a Vita and you are a fan of RPGs do yourself a favour and pick this game up. Edited June 7, 2015 by Dr_Mayus

Popular Post JaM
#67 Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart You've mastered this game!"Perfect! Just perfect! You're amazing! Congratulations!" Weally??? *come on praise me more* oh.. first off.. thanks to Satoshi-sama's guide for this game, wouldn't know if I can survive those Max Lily Rank Trophies without those tips... My First HDN spin off game platted and 3rd game from the series...also the first HDN game so far that I didn't spent 0.99 for DLC (got the free DLCs though)... and could be the only HDN game I could have platted without going through NG+ also the 18th fastest achiever so far... I know Satoshi-sama... you are still faster than me... stuffs: Story-wise, as mentioned, it is a spin off so it won't spoil much about the other HDN games(the only spoiler I've found in this one is the CPUs personalities) - it still has the humor like the other HDN games, and I still find NepNep the funniest one even she is not the main in this game (we both blame the game maker for not making her lead this time). that plus The different generals that is based on other video games and company added humors esp when they are doing reference in their games.... Gameplay wise, it is your typical turn based SRPG. The Lily rank system could be a pain trophy wise but during battles, I think it is a good addition to this game and pretty handy most of the times... unfortunately (not sure if the others experienced it as well), I got to the point that I find this game repetitive and I was on verge of stalling it due to boredom, also adding a difficulty spike in some point in the game... Trophy-wise..while half of the trophies in this is pretty much straight forward and you might get while playing the game, the other half is quite unforgiving and needs, as game title said, Hyper Devotion.... hands down.. this might be going to be the most grindiest HDN in terms of maxing Lily Ranks IMO - no shortcuts/cheats - no Harem Idea chips... same goes with reaching LVL 99 for all characters... well I guess the silver lining for this one is having 10M - 1 Credits is not that hard at all in this game.... in short: a fun(ny) game like the other HDN games... quite grindy though esp the lily ranks(not surprise 20 of them are Very Rare)... recommended to all that enjoys playing SRPGs... Popular Post Makilio
#21: Ni No Kuni (Wizardry Whiz) The very first game I played on the PS3 (surprised it wasn't Disgaea 3 since I got the system for it, but meh). I'm not the biggest fan of Miyazaki, but I found this game to be pretty great (nice to see all of the references throughout the game too). It was a nice throwback to older RPGs, while also having a semi-serious plot. If the AI wasn't so aggressive to keeping buffs up 100% of the time (you get paused for a second while it's applied and then the bosses unleash their goodness all over you during that moment) and the creature-capturing aspect wasn't completely luck-based, I would say this was one of the best RPGs I've ever played. I wouldn't say it lives up to its hype, but if you're a fan of Studio Ghibli or RPGs and haven't tried this game yet, I definitely recommend it. Popular Post ExHaseo
#70 - Tales of Xillia 2 I have incredibly mixed feelings about this game. The main game was great. They fixed a lot of the issues I had with the original Xillia (like the lack of side-quests, lack of costumes, and the unoriginal story). However, it's the type of sequel that you actually need to play the first game to really enjoy, which sucks because the first game is just awful if you've played past Tales games. And the amount of grinding needed for the plat was pretty stupid. Had to grind out character skills, grind out special battle objectives, grind out levels, and even the EX dungeon was a grind. Since it's literally the same three areas 18 times in a row. Well, at least 18 times in a row, if you lose, or go down the wrong path, you have to go back to the beginning and play through again. Also, they made it obscenely hard to level post game (until you complete the Illusionary Darkness around 130-140). Considering the fact that you have the option to spend real money to buy up to 50 levels (for a total of about $35), and you can beat the game around 70-80, I can't help but think that the only reason they made it so hard to level during that stretch is to get people to buy their overpriced micro-transactions. Which is so ridiculously disappointing to me, as someone who has played every Tales game released in the US, and even a couple that weren't. I mean, you technically can just do a new game+ and get up to 10x experience, but you get literally nothing for playing through again, so there's no real incentive to do so. Unlike past Tales games where certain events or dungeons were unlocked by playing the game twice. So, you have the option to grind for hours leveling until you're powerful enough to fight the bosses and start raking in the exp, have to play through the entire game again, or spend extra money to buy levels. It's just so sad that the Tales series has devolved into trying to scam people out of money by cutting content (ie the costumes and the quests that would've gone along with them in past Tales games) and making their game grind heavy... Anyway, I'm gonna get the Hearts plat too, because it seems like it's not ridiculous like Xillia 2, but I doubt I'll be playing Zestiria or Berseria. I'll be done with the Tales series for a while. At least until Bamco starts putting in an amount of content comparable to previous titles like Symphonia or Vesperia. Unless they localize Innocence R. I'll play that one because I know it wasn't designed to scam people out of money through overpriced microtransactions, and because I really enjoyed it on the DS. An amazing ending to a great trilogy. Finished the main story on my first playthrough in 4 in-game days, and 2 in-game days on my second playthrough out of 13/14 days. ^-^ The Wolf Among Us (PS4) Full Moon Earned every Trophy in every episode of The Wolf Among Us. First telltale game I played, and I really enjoyed it. I never read the Fables graphic novel series that this is based on, but it was an interesting story Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (PS3) The End of War Earn all available trophies for Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare. Campaign wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't the worst either. Troy Baker and Kevin Spacey voice acting their respective characters that were also modelled after them was definitely a nice touch Also, a thanks to Precision-Playy for allowing me to join him on the Riot map for the Exo Survivor trophy. Popular Post markcavan
#37 - Virtue's Last Reward - PSV - Before starting this game I knew I was going to spend most of my time reading the story with some puzzle games, so I felt I was somewhat prepared for the experience, I was NOT! It was way to story focused for me and by the time I finished the first 2 endings I was ready to finish the game but had another 20 endings to unlock (yes, there is 22 endings in this game). The flow of the story also jumped around all over the place as you try to unlock certain paths. By the time I unlocked the plat I'd clocked up 39 hours 45 minutes and I could not have cared less about any of the characters, I just wanted it over :-( I also cannot even remember the first few endings! As for the puzzles, I found them okay but some were downright crazy in their logic. All in all I think this game is like Marmite, you'll either love it or hate it and plenty of people love it. Will be a while before I play a game like this again. Edited June 8, 2015 by markcavan
Popular Post Floriiss
#105: Hitman 2: Silent Assasin Perfect Assassin Unlock all trophies Main game: After the great succes of Absolution I couldn't resist playing another Hitman game. This game was actually pretty fun, at first. Getting Silent Assasin on the first five missions was a bit challenging, but still doable. I'm glad that there isn't a trophy related to getting all missions Silent Assasin, since that would be a lot harder. After mission five it got a lot easier since I could just shoot anybody, and since I'm pretty decent at shooters it was actually very easy to kill everyone instead of going in stealth . So it went really smooth, until the final level, which was ridiculous! You start out with no weapons, then you have to get to your shed where your guns are, and most of them you won't even make it to your shed because you'll get killed. Inside the church there are multiple snipers that kill you with one shot and they are pretty fast. Even if you got full health they still kill you with one hit. And when you're lucky enough to get to the boss fight he does massive damage. The worst part of this was that I wanted to collect all guns, so I had to finish the level with the Custom rifle (It was the last gun I needed towards my collection). The Custom rifle is very inaccurate, and it still takes a couple of shot to kill the boss. Luckily after a couple tries I got it done. Collecting all weapons wasn't really hard, but it was dumb that you had to carry the weapon all the way through the end of the level. Normally soldiers have AK's but when you're dressed up as a soldier and wear a big ass sniper rifle that's very suspicious and they'll instantly attack you the moment they see you. Also the AI in this game and their spawn places are ridiculous. One time I went into a room where four ninja's were, doing nothing. Then I fail, restart and walk to that exact same room and literately NO ONE is there. Like wth. Also sometimes the AI doesn't care if I run with full speed past them and the next time I walk past them they instantly attack me. Like I said, very unpredictable. I'm curious to see if Contracts or Blood Money has this same issue, or if they actually improved it. Well only one way to find that out! Lets plat 'em both!
Popular Post LukeWarm115
#100 - Shadow of the Colossus Woo-hoo, 100 plats! I chose this game for the occasion due to it being one of my favorite games as well as an ultra rare. I always wanted to play this, but never had a PS2, So I was very glad it got ported over to PS3. I absolutely love this game. This game features some of the greatest bosses of all time and one of my favorite worlds. I love how empty the game feels, it adds to the story giving it a depressing and somber vibe. Also, it has my favorite soundtrack in any game. The tracks that play during the battles make it more intense and are very memorable. The plat wasn't too hard, except for some time attacks. I have played it at least 8 times so far, and will definitely play it again sometime. If you haven't played it yet, I recommend it greatly. Hopefully The Last Guardian actually releases so I can play another awesome game.
Popular Post dakk55
174th Platinum The Whole World Went Away The game is an actual improvement over the previous installment, but there are still occasional glitches or gripes. One being that having too much zombies on the screen makes it laggy and sometimes navigation becomes a chore, especially when the quest tracker apparently doesn't work sometimes, only popping up when you're close enough to find it anyways. And there have been times where I had trouble finding the quest items needed inside the green circle because there isn't a pop up until I'm literally a foot away from it. The story, again like the previous installment was an meh, with an recycled "Oh there's an antidote, oh wait there isn't. So kill the bad guy instead, k?" plot. Thankfully, there was plenty of sidequests to do in between and having coop buddies actually makes it a fun experience, especially with group fury feature. I did feel it was a shame that in the end, the survivors left, pretty much abandoning the others they rescued (ie: Makeshift Hospital, the Cinema got overrun), giving a big "screw you" to everyone that I helped throughout the game. The gameplay itself isn't really a much difference from the original Dead Island, although the charge attack got seriously downgraded and I was able to access the guns earlier in the game. Thankfully, the mods made it alot easier to get through the game, but I still curse Suiciders to this day. Most of the trophies are straight forward, although the charge attack and coop kill are difficult to grind out, as charge attack is weak and most of my coop partners ignores my "targeted" zombies, forcing me to kill it myself. Thankfully, I stumbled across a guy who was trying to boost that trophy, so we stayed together and got the coop kill and the Coop Missions trophies too. If you enjoy some zombie killing with gameplay similar to Skyrim, but with a higher difficulty, then Dead Island Riptide is for you. Just watch out for the damn suiciders!
Popular Post MStalker58
#56 Borderlands Borderlands Defender Yet another popular series that I'm extremely late starting. I'm not a huge fan of MP and the game is old so I played it solo, which became a bit of a grind. There's nothing more depressing than reaching the point where you think to yourself: "I'm Level 40/50. Only 10 more to go. This won't be too bad." Then you realize it takes over 1.5 million XP to go from level 40 to 50. Luckily, the fact that enemies level up with you provided somewhat of a challenge and made the grind tolerable. Plus, experimenting with all of the weapons helped pass the time. I can imagine the game would be a blast to play with friends. Still, I enjoyed the game despite being a bit tedious by the end. TheScionOfHatred
WWE2K15 for PS3 in my case. Fun game to play outside of trophies, A bit of a grind involving the online and the rivalry matches. @MStalker. Borderlands was an amazing game for its time. I enjoyed platting it solo, but it certainly was more fun running through it with friends. I didnt have much of an issue with the grinding, since i was playing the second playthrough and the story DLCs, but if you liked # v1, I believe you'll certainly enjoy # 2
