Slay The Spire - Win a Daily Climb

I had kind of given up on this game a month or so ago but I've been chipping away at over the last couple of days. I lucked into a decent build with Ironclad and I was able to knock out 5 or so trophies that I thought I'd never get. 

I had tried the Daily Climb a couple of times but the modifiers were really unpleasant but todays Climb was really easy, Ironclad with everytime you pick up a card you get 2 xtra copies ( I finished with 111) and healing at a bonfire costs 5 max HP.

I really thought I would never get Platinum and maybe I never will but after the last few days I'm more hopeful.

I have to take back what I said about Yomi Training being a pain. Yes, it's tough, but it's not that hard. The only thing sucks is that if you lose at any point of the Trial, you go back to the beginning. That said, as long as you have the right equipment, most of them aren't too bad. I also have to admit that I completely ignored the shurikens and kunais. They're actually really helpful, especially shurikens since they can kill enemies (excluding bosses) in just 1-2 throws. Finally, I decided not to use the damage exploit and do it the regular way instead. It's more fun that way.

 

Anyway, I managed to beat most of the Trials without too much trouble. Actually, the hardest one was the Trial of Life. Not only can't you use items or Drives, but you're also poisoned all the time and that carries over through all three levels. Luckily, all the enemies are nothing but mushrooms. That's one good thing I can say about this one. Switching characters every now and then is the only way to survive, since they recover health every once in a while. By the time I reached the boss, I got incredibly lucky and managed to level up before the battle. Since your health is fully restored when that happens, this made the battle so much easier. I'd probably would've made it either way, since it's Goh you're facing and she doesn't have that much health. In short, I managed to beat it on my first try.

 

After completing all the Trials, I unlocked the final one and it was without a doubt the easiest one since it's nothing but a rematch with the final boss, which is ... ok, I suppose? This time, I managed to beat her on my first try, though I did spend a good amount of recovery items. I just wanted to play it safe. At least the reward for clearing all the trials was worth it. You get the best shuriken and kunai the game has to offer. Not only do they deal a lot of damage, but they also inflict multiple status ailments. I decided to test them and... Well, they're fun to use. In case you want to destroy your enemies, there you go.

 

So, I've finally completed it. Overall, this was surprisingly good. Better than I expected and certainly much better than Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart. No annoying Lily Rank farming, no unbalanced gameplay and no grinding. It might be just mindless button mashing, but at least it was fun.

 

PS. Goh is the best girl. Change my mind.

To be completely honest... I can't praise this game enough. I seriously can't. It was just so good and so fun. It's just unfortunate that it got so many bad/mixed reviews and that most others don't even try playing it. It's not like it's the worst game ever made. Is it perfect? Of course not. But I enjoyed the hell out of this game and I really wish more people would try it out and play it for themselves. It was so self-aware, funny, and just overall fun. Story was pretty decent too with some pretty shocking twists around the end of the game. This was probably the most fun game I've played all year since Ni No Kuni 2. Please please PLEASE try it out for yourself and don't listen to the reviews because reviews shouldn't be relied on to determine if games are good or not. Though something like this should be common sense by now.

It is what it is I suppose.

Either way... finally... AT LONG LAST... it's time everyone. It's finally time for me to play it. Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition. I've heard so much about this one so I just hope it doesn't disappoint. However... I also have heard it's challenging. *sighs* So much for not struggling anymore... ☹️

Well... we'll find out soon I guess. Because I should be able to start playing it... tonight. ?
