Both Horizon Zero Dawn and Fractured Butthole were pre-ordered before the Financial event even started though. Still no word on a collector's edition of Mass Effect Andromeda, the only reason I'd pre-order is an awesome model of the new Normandy-like ship. And well, Switch is Nintendo, can't blame me for that! On that point: Snipperclips will release in March as well.

It's up to you but personally I would ask myself if there's really a need to preorder all the games when they release at nearly the same time. And even CEs aren't a reason for me anymore as the past often proved that most of them can be gotten rather easily and for dirt cheap after the release, even for system sellers like Uncharted 4. Most games over here can't be found afterwards and I don't want to wait a few months with playing to find out. As for Zelda, getting the nirmal edition with that one but seeing as it's the main launch game, only people who pre-ordered last Sunday or sooner are able to get one day one, at least at the store I buy at. Thanks for the offer man. I'm hoping it pops naturally. I've been hacking everyone I pass and letting the Blume affiliates report me to generate bounties. Usually this generates a hack opportunity but sometimes it's a tail for the bounty. I know of at least three tails already, so I'm hoping its actually 4 and pops soon. Worse comes to worse I'll just drag Stalker in since he needs it to. I've pretty much exhausted all the investigations until I advance the story. I need about 5 more convoys and bases, and about 10 fixer contracts. Maybe I'll slip Mim a caffeine pill tonight to keep her up a little longer so we can progress the story. Popular Post MStalker58
I got the plat for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist which brings me up to 5 games completed from the event. Thanks to @DamagingRob for helping with a couple of the online trophies including the weekly challenge. Not only did you save me some time and having to grind kills, you also helped me avoid looking like an idiot and getting some nasty looks from teammates who were probably wondering why in the world I refused to use any weapons and kept going for melee kills. Thanks again. My thoughts on the game haven't really changed since the event. Probably still the favorite game from my list and can't really think of any complaints. Well, I did hate those damn dogs. Don't get me wrong, I'm a dog lover but with 2 exceptions....zombie dogs in survival horror games and dogs in stealth games who can sniff you out from miles away. Probably won't finish another game from the event for a while. @Hemiak has challenged my "skillz" so I'll be returning to Mamorukun Curse! soon, which was actually one of my games from the first KYC event. I'm also looking forward to getting back to the Shantae franchise and some other PS4 games so the rest of my KYC games will probably be put on the back-burner for a little bit.

Blood Dragon is just as good, in the gameplay department. Some like the whole '80s vibe it has going more. I loved both. Street Fighter x Tekken is a lot of fun. You get all the characters that were sold as DLC on the PS3 version, too. There is a trophy for playing in Ad-Hoc mode, though. Currently stopping me from trying to complete the missions, and get its Plat. Edited January 21, 2017 by DamagingRob

Whenever I recommend a 2D platformer, I always feel like I should warn that it is one of my favorite genres so I might be biased. That being said, it was a great remake of a classic and I had a blast playing it. Like Rob said, if you enjoyed Far Cry 3 then I would think you'll enjoy Blood Dragon. Similar gameplay but with a lot more over-the-top 80's action movie cheese and neon colors. The game might be shorter compared to the main games in the series but IIRC it felt like quite a bit of content for a standalone DLC. Definitely worth checking out, especially at a good sale price. If you are interested in other game suggestions, I'll have to take a look at the list and get back to you on that.

Popular Post ladynadiad
I'm now up to two of my games from this being platinumed. Just finished off Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll and it was a very good game in my opinion. About the only annoying trophy was the one to get everyone to level 99 and even that wasn't too bad since the game gives plenty of high leveled monster hunts and other means to get experience fast. I was actually at level 80 with everyone after finishing everything else off so it wasn't that much grinding to do.
Popular Post Mendant909
I've done quite a bit of progress with my lists, having nearly 6/10 games completed from the first KYC and 5/10 completed games for KYC II. I don't have much to add in regards to games like Sorcery Saga and Trails of Cold Steel aside from just finish the story, ignoring completion in the former and skip this game and start with the sequel for the latter. I've written a lot in regards to a few games, mainly bashing them, so I hid them in spoilers so as to not clutter up the screen. Beyond Good & Evil My opinion on the game fell down greatly after what occurred in the final level. I didn’t like that it took the taunt of a dying villain to remind Jade that there were victims that were going to die. Jade was there to take the picture of the victims and even managed to easily enter that lair after the taunt, making me ask why our hero forgot to do that basic duty and instead focus on returning to headquarters. Freaking Man of Steel levels of Heroism-101 that our protagonist can’t be bothered with. The revelations of Jade’s past and the use of the victims reminds of the Wachowskis’ works and I rarely hear praise for the human battery subplot or Mila Kunis’s reveal as a higher being. I’m switching this game’s placement with Ranko Tsukigime since that game’s plot takes about thirty minutes, composing half of the game’s full running time, and it starts out outlandish and escalates. I have no excitement for the sequel but who knows if that will ever come out. El Shaddai I could see Hemiak throwing this game on his “Lol No” section on his forum. The story takes off towards the final third part of the game, meaning a whole chunk of this game was pointless. The characters suck since Enoch is a librarian that does a lot of stupid slow-motion and the only true heroic thing he did was save Anna, a girl that all I know is that she guided Enoch for one level. There’s not much I could say about the plot as I didn’t understand much of it, heck I better understood Final Fantasy XIII and all of its jargon. I know that I would have felt ripped-off with the finale, but I simply stopped caring. It’s similar to the plot twist from Spec Ops: The Line but in that game it was key to Walker’s character but in El Shaddai it merely meant the end of Enoch’s journey. Damn, this game ended like Power Rangers Super Megaforce with just action and no time to reflect and that sucked too. In New Game+ the game has the decency to show a health meter for bosses, something that even X-Blades and Shinovi Versus weren’t stupid enough to remove. Surprisingly the annoying, repetitive bosses can be beaten. The game sure is dull with only three types of mooks and similar boss fights, it’s like a more pleasant looking Shinovi Versus but a level takes over thirty minutes to complete compared to thirty seconds. Sonic Unleashed I’ll be talking about the final stage and series of bosses since it was the most infuriating time spent on the game. To get to Eggmanland Sonic has to ride an airplane and take out enemies through button prompts, making it a dull and less interactive version of a level from Sonic Adventure, which was released ten years prior. The core stage is a forty-minute slog that switches between the normal Sonic and the Werehog form, and boy is the platforming horrendous. There’s a sliding section where it’s easy to slide off the border, a section where you get spitted from one prompt to another but Sonic can easily be stopped by the rotating hazards. The Werehog portion has a section where he has to walk on pipes and he can’t recover from a fall. This level gives free 1-ups before these BS sections but that’s like putting a band-aid on a severed limb, it sure doesn’t fix the core problem at hand. Heck, Sonic Adventure 2’s final level had the five characters’ section different from each other, made use of the time stopping mechanic introduced earlier, and it takes less than eight minutes to finish. I fully upgraded both versions of Sonic and I still managed to lose over twenty lives, and that’s not even counting the lives that were given out throughout the level The first final boss was Eggman and he was passable. Dark Gaia, however, was the drizzling shits. Chip, who was revealed to be Light Gaia, gathered the Gaia Temples to form a golem. The boss fight consists of slowly dashing to Dark Gaia while dodging meteors or blocking a laser beam and then getting to slowly uppercut hit through quick time events. Firstly, this boss fight is way too slow and this section has to be done three times after a dumb section where Sonic hits the boss in the eye. The major problem is that there’s no foreshadowing of the direction of the meteors, meaning you could just dash your face towards one and lose a huge chunk of health. You can try punching a boulder but the collision detection isn’t good and more than likely you won’t connect and get hurt instead. The quick time events don’t have much impact behind their hits and that’s the culmination of the Super Sonic portion. The true final boss, Perfect Dark Gaia, copies the format from Sonic and Knuckle and the first section consists of collecting rings. The final fight consists of dashing into tentacles and then doing the dull quick time events. Failure mainly comes from not doing it fast enough and letting Chip die. These two boss fights took me nearly the same amount of time as the final level and I’m just glad that I don’t need to touch the final boss ever again. Shinovi Versus The best way to sum up this game is an example from the game, namely the idea of Repunzel the Shinobi. It’s a story that devolved into a hodgepodge of ideas that the author panders to the audience without a central idea supporting it. It’s this type of BS where we have two characters with eyepatches, one who uses it as a reminder of her sister and another to not see how ugly the world can be. BULL-FUCKING-SHIT. That character’s sister died non-chalantly and it’s not like the character injured her eye trying to save her; hell she could just tied her sister’s ribbon on her hair or her neck in a Wolf Among Us style, or made a necklace rather than a stupid eyepatch. As for the other character, truly an ugly world where she has to write her stories at Best Buy or call out “fake geeks” who are interested in a Star Wars rip-off. Fucking idiot doesn’t realize that if people are spending money then that means that the product continues to live and that they’re at least intrigued in the subject matter and you can probably get them more involved in the hobby. If the ugliest thing she’s seen is the Firefly rip-off get canceled then I don’t know how she managed to face the forest of demons. Oh yeah, the finale of the fourth core story had all twenty of the girls fight a forest full of demons and survive, even though there was no prompt for the demons to show up and the demons’ came out like chumps in the paragraphs that described the fight scene. Fucking cheapasses couldn’t even be bothered to put up a few still images. Having played the character focused stories, half of them were portrayed as selfish-pricks, three characters learned about friendship even though they already learned that in the core story modes, two characters learned about cuteness yet one didn’t even know what justice meant even though that was her driving motivation in the core story, someone went to collect sushi ingredients, someone went to learn comedy, somebody wanted to become stronger, and I forgot what happened in two characters’ stories and I don’t care enough to revisit. The main problem with the characters, aside from being gimmick characters that have pointless dark pasts, is that a majority of the characters are careless. When the truth is presented in front of a character, that character tends to ignore it and continue to fight. If a sibling or friend has emotional turmoil, the character will be ignorant of it until both characters talk about it at the very end. A freaking character got sniped in the back and not only did she survive but the group was all kumbayah with no repercussions for the assailant. Even friends are willing to fight each other over stupid things like having more than one meal or spending time with a sister analogue. A carefree character knows their moral compass and consistently acts in that matter, it's just that they need a prompt to action or they'll just continue doing what they do, akin to Bardock enjoying his job of genocide but caring about avenging his crew or Aokiji's "lazy justice." Writing is definitely not the strong suit of this game and it’s similar to the babyish level of Sonic Unleashed; however, Sonic Unleashed actually demonstrated the effects of its light/dark contrast while Shinovi Versus did fuck all and wasted more time on paragraphs describing action scenes. Even Hyperdevotion Noire showed slashes to aid in its action scenes while having their characters talk how the scene sucked. There’s not much more to talk in regards to the gameplay. I noticed that the hair becomes as stiff as a horizontal board when the character runs and then returns back to its original stiff vertical position. Maybe they should have focused on the characters having different styles of short hair to mask this ugly problem. The ten second loading screens is just piss poor optimization as it’s just short corridors or the freaking room where the characters hang out. There’s no need for a compass to guide in the levels as it’s just a corridor so there’s generally only one direction to go. Fuck this game. I'll probably make a bit more progress with Red Alert 3 and El Shaddai but I'm not likely to complete another game from the lists soon. I recently took part of the Vita birthday event, so I might add more games for that event. Thanks again to Crimsonidol for giving a copy of Shantae: 1/2 Genie Hero as it's pretty great and would easily recommend it to anyone. Aside from that, I finished cataloguing my backlog and I have a better glimpse of what I can add for future events and what I could easily complete. Hopefully everyone has been having a decent start to 2017 and may it be better than last year. Edited January 22, 2017 by Mendant909

I think the needless grind is a staple of Compile Hearts since that happened in Hyperdevotion Noire as well. I'd recommend people to just play the story since Pupuru is a good written character and her simple story is coherent, which is something that I've failed to see repeatedly in the past few years. Sorcery Saga made me respect the writing talent of Compile Hearts, which I wish it was utilized in Noire, and it has me eager to see what Dark Rose Valkyrie turns out to be. Trails of Cold Steel felt like a better version of Tales of Xillia; both of them just stop without a satisfying ending but at least the former has an actual setup for a sequel. Overall I thought the game was OK, and it didn't impress me as much as Tales of Symphonia and Persona 4 did for their respective series. I'll probably play the sequel, but I don't feel compelled to play it anytime soon.

Popular Post Hemiak
Just earned the Plat for Watch Dogs. That's my 3rd game from this event complete. I really enjoyed the game, including the MP component. It's not so much finding the items that made it bad, but the needless grind to level up weapon and armor. There's no reward for doing all of that aside from getting the last trophy for the platinum. Even the tower had no need to be above 100 floors. As for Kuu, he reminds me too much of my rabbit, except Kuu gobbles up whole people and isn't as cute as my chubby bunny. I'd agree with Xillia being boring, just as Trails of Cold Steel was also boring. Neither of them had a long-term goal that the protagonist or party strived for. In Symphonia Lloyd wanted to redeem himself for the damage that he inadvertently caused through a good deed, while he aided his friends in restoring the world to a better condition. Xillia zoomed through from warning a government about a weapon of mass destruction, restoring Milla's powers (which the party never tried to do), restoring Milla's ability to walk, stopping an invasion from the neighboring country and then from another world, and ultimately just stopping the killing of their God analogue. Cold Steel spent a school year with time in school split between meh sidequests and revisiting a bland dungeon; field trips also had meh sidequests but at least there was some injustice to correct. Cold Steel feels like a needless prequel since it sacrificed telling a compelling story and just built the world and characters for the more exciting sequel. In Mass Effect there's the threat of Saren and that's the central plot point that drives the story until the end, but you still get to learn about the alien races and the future threat of the Reapers. Cold Steel really dropped the ball with its story and boy was it obvious who C was and even that revelation made no sense for his character, wasting years hanging out with people instead of acting like Malfoy in The Half-Blood Prince. Zestiria also feels like it was made from an assembly line with no regard for pacing or why certain tropes work, so I've lost a lot of faith in that franchise. Cold Steel at least has interesting characters and I'd like to follow their stories, which is something that Final Fantasy XIII and Xillia failed with their party characters by making them a bunch of pricks. Good luck with completing Star Ocean and that SAO game since those sound like long grinds. If you ever played Final Fantasy X on the PS2, Symphonia shares a similar plot in regards to the role of religion and how their faith changes after seeing the plights of people, like death of loved ones or feeling helpless against a larger force, and seeing the skeletons in the pope's closet. XX_FTW
Didn't realize this thread was still open. Good progress on your games everyone. I've only revisit three games since the event: Virginia (which I platinumed and continue to think about), The Sims 3 (which I continue to find ways in which it is a nerfed port and I continue to enjoy despite. Need to renew my focus on this one though.) and Letter Quest Remastered (which I intend to 100%, am pissed it doesn't have a platinum, and haven't earned a trophy in since the event but still enjoy). Yeah... I think that's all I've got for now.

I'm actually kind of surprised Letter Quest doesn't have a plat either because they certainly have enough achievements in the PC version to have justified one. Remastered version has 60 achievements on PC.
MarkusT1992
I think it's time for an update from me. After the event has ended I jumped from game to game. I started several game after the event like Skyrim, The Deadly Tower of Monsters, Peggle 2, Sherlock Homes: The Devil's Daughter, Need for Speed Rivals, Yakuza 0 and Digimon World: Next Order. That's half an event I started here I also completed some games. Those were: Mousecraft, Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter, Lego Marvel's Avengers and Telltales's Batman game. From this event I only continued Wolfenstein: The Old Blood in which I finished the story plus all the perk trophies. Only the challanges are left. I got god in the first challange after many tries but was 10k points short in the second and I have no clue how to get that many more points. I hope to complete the challanges some day but I guess that takes a bit practice. And Voodo helped me in Need for Speed Rivals with the friends trophies after one month of waiting for EA support due issues with my account, so I can plat that game sometime without worrying about that.
Hemiak
Been playing Destiny when Mim falls asleep each night and I've got about half the base game trophies. Been working with Yuri to complete a hard mode raid. We've (I mean he's) come really close a bunch of times but we keep getting robbed at the last minute. Going to try again tomorrow morning, and then he's going to help me with flawless Raider and the Strike trophies. I'm still really enjoying playing and have been doing a lot of non trophy related stuff just for fun. Ive been gearing up way more than pure trophy hunting requires... because that's what you do in an mmo. Also been playing a lot of PvP. I have flashes of brilliance where I end with a 2ish k/d, but I'm far more often around .7ish. Also been playing Chariot, which I started just before the last event. I complete a level or two a night, and I'll worry about completing levels and speed runs once I get all the gadgets. I've also been plugging away at Rocksmith, where I'm now over 50% complete trophy wise. Creeping up on 72% completion again which is a good feeling, and I'm finally back down to 39.9% rarity.
