The girls promised to keep playing baseball even when they are older and were separated soon after. In the years that followed, Tamaki went on to become a skilled catcher, but Yomi did not get very far despite her throwing prowess. Deciding to quit her passion, Yomi starts her first year at Shin Koshigaya High School. Try as she might to avoid anything related to baseball, she meets the twins Yoshino and Ibuki Kawaguchi, both of whom are enthusiasts of the sport. Gleipnir Episode 3-13 (Finished) Enjoyment level 8 Shuuichi Kagaya is what one would consider an average high school student, but sometimes, he turns into a monster. Deciding to save her, he transforms and carries her to safety, but accidentally drops his phone. The next day, the girl he saved—Claire Aoki—finds him and confronts him about his monster identity. She even goes so far as to push him off the school roof to prove her theory after Shuuichi denies her allegations. Desperate to save himself, he transforms, and Claire snaps a picture in order to blackmail him into telling her everything he knows about monsters, which, ironically, isn't much. As it turns out, Claire has a secret of her own: she has been searching for her sister, who also became a monster. She enlists Shuuichi's help to track her down, but they aren't the only ones searching for answers. sillyrobo75
Houseki no Kuni (Land of the Lustrous) I watched the entire season in like one day, it has 12 episodes. One of the best anime I've seen in quite a while, the only flaw for me was that it pretty much has no ending, and we never got a 2nd season so far, but I will definitely read the manga when it's finished. Also the use of cg is excellent too, that opening shot from the 1st episode is just breathtaking.

Popular Post Honor_Hand
Violet Evergarden - 13 Episodes + 1 Special (2018) Enjoyment Score: 9.5 A masterful production by Kyoto Animation that I had been pending to watch, and one that didn't disappoint. I had a very vague idea of what this anime was about and initially thought it was going to follow a predictable narrative, but that was not the case here. Violet Evergarden tells the story of a young girl that was originally raised as a killing machine during a certain war. However, with the war in question now finished, the titular Violet finds herself with little to no emotion or even a purpose to her life. Since she was raised as a mere tool for war, the viewer can end up genuinely puzzled as to what Violet will make of her life now in this world. Not only that but the words of a person that was very close continually resonate within her, and Violet has no clear understanding of what she meant for this person. I really liked the angle that was playing right from the beginning and all the way through the ending. In the sense that the viewer is never given a definitive clue that indicates this person died or not. Even the ending is up for interpretation and theories, which is something that made my heart feel happy. Violet-chan's lack of emotions and understanding really come as a shock to the viewer, but they're completely understandable given her background. How she explore and understand these emotions during each of the episodes by helping people write letters is truly astounding. Even if some of the letters are straight to the point, they have such an emotional charge at the moment they're read that you can't help but join in the sadness, joyfulness, sorrow, true love, or understanding the characters are experiencing at that very moment. The art style is beautiful, from the characters, the places, the backgrounds, the objects, the vehicles, the sky, nature itself, everything is just wondrous to behold. If there was ever an anime that nailed the Post-Victorian era of Europe, this is definitely one of them. The sound department is equally excellent, with high-quality and believable voice actors and music themes that will be sure to evoke a feeling out of you at the right moment. OP and ED themes were excellent as well. If I have one very minor quibble is that the climax moment of the series (that train episode) lacked a bit of excitement towards the end. Totally understandable due to the slow approach of the series, but I feel it could've been executed a bit better considering it was one of the climactic moments of the anime. It was still great, though. Overall, another masterful production from KyoAni that I can wholeheartedly recommend. Spoiler Yes, the best part in the series for sure. This episode is the one that made me cry the most too. ? Violet is best girl by FAR. I mean... there's no point of contention here even. Just look at that. ↑ Violet Evergarden Side Story: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll - Movie - (2019) Enjoyment Score: 8 A literal side story movie that I thought was good. As with the main series, artwork and general presentation are top-notch. In this side story, Violet is tasked with assisting a girl named Isabelle in becoming a dame of nobility. After some misunderstandings, Isabelle eventually opens up to Violet and a plot of siblings being separated due to social and economic pressures of the era begins to unfold. I thought it was very believable for the most part and the delivery was nice. Violet eventually helps Isabelle in writing a letter that will open up the possibility of reuniting with this close family member she hasn't seen in a long time. Isabelle's arc at the beginning came off a little boring for me. Not that it was bad, mind you. I thought it was appropriately played out, but I personally lacked interest in her section. Her backstory was interesting, but her current predicament failed to incite any sense of care out of me for some reason. That's just a personal opinion on my side, though. Fortunately enough, the movie picks a lot of steam when we're introduced to Taylor, a character that plays a major role in the story and to Isabelle herself. I found her part and interactions with the rest of the cast at the postal company entertaining to watch. We even get to see a totally cool Benedict helping out in the whole ordeal in a proper manner, cool. The movie has a lovely conclusion about the tale of these two siblings separated by motifs that are far from their control and it manages to end on a positive note for two people that hold very dear to each other. I liked that. Even if the start of the movie came off a bit dull for me, it eventually picked up and became very good towards the end. If you liked the anime, then this is a recommended watch too. Spoiler Watch out Violet, there's a new best girl in the making. Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha ViVid - 12 Episodes - (2015) Enjoyment Score: 8.5 And here is where I throw all my anime street creed out the window in trying to defend a show everyone seems to hate, lol. So, ViVid, the much-reviled entry into the franchise everyone tells me is some sort of dumpster fire... I like it, it's a cozy garbage fire if you get what I mean. I can totally get why people hate it, though. It's a far, far, VERY FAR departure from the 3 seasons that came before it. Characters are much more moe and cute, gone is any sense of urgency or stake from the previous seasons, major characters got a very diminished role or were just kicked out of the series entirely, the overall plot feels disjointed, and then it leads you to an incomplete ending that we'll probably never see in an animated form. BUT, and here's where I begin to hold my position, the series managed to fill every other checkbox from what you would expect from a mahou shoujo series, and it did so wonderfully. In fact, I'll go as far as saying that this season actually felt more "magical" than the previous ones for once. Cute cuddly companions, kick-ass transformation scenes, cute girls battling each other in reasonably animated scenes with engaging commentary, plenty of tasteful fanservice, and to top it all, a freakin' tournament arc inside a magical girl series... A FREAKIN' TOURNAMENT ARC! What's that doing here? I don't know, but I loved every second of it. The battles were played well and were entertaining to watch. So yeah, it makes next to zero sense in the Nanoha universe, but it makes 100% sense in the "let's have cute girls beat the shit out of each other" kind-of-way. I can totally dig that. The plot is paper-thin, but it works for this type of series. What works strongly is the motivation of the characters for entering that martial arts tournament. Einhart in particular gets a lot of development as a character, and even Corona became an unexpected favorite of mine. The driving force here is not what these characters due in the overarching plot, but what their motivations are for the fights. Speaking of the fights, they're actually well animated. Sure, there are some weird frames here and there, but for the most part, it delivered on the intensity with some particularly cool sequences, visual flare, and those classic "calling out your attacks" moments. It's intense and exciting to watch, with the battle between Einheart and Corona on episode 11 being the major highlight of the show. I'm knocking down some points on a few things. ViVid continues the Nanoha tradition of introducing a crapload of new characters that won't be to everyone's tastes. Unlike StrikerS, though, most of the focus is well-maintained and the series does a good job at keeping your attention on the ones that maters (Vivio and her close friends). One thing, though, is that all these characters are like walking spoilers and if you haven't seen the previous seasons, you're going to be confused. Hell, I'm sure there's a missing season somewhere here. "Who's Ixy? Why is she asleep? Why does the church have so many characters now?" Feels like there are a few seasons missing between StrikerS and ViVid. The ending itself in ViVid is quite underwhelming as well and does not finish the tournament arc, so that's another negative point here. So yeah... I am aware everyone hates this one, but I happen to like it a lot. In fact, I'm going to up the ante and say that it became my second favorite season in the franchise behind A's and a worthy watch if you like mahou shoujo series. Be aware that this anime is one of those that you either love it or hate it. I'm soooo watching ViVid Strike! and the movies now. ^^ Spoiler Cool transformation scenes? Check Cute animal companions? Check, check. Nice fight scenes and over-the-top "calling out your attacks" moments? Oh, check that too. Tasteful fanservice? Oh yeah... Definitely check that one. Lots of cute girls everywhere? Super check. What's not to like? Spoiler So, who's best girl you might be asking? That's a difficult question. At first, I liked Vivio's leading role, overall cheerfulness, cute heterochromia, and go-to attitude. Then Rio's cute demeanor, way of speaking, awesome transformation, and that tooth won me over. Then, Corona, who I had initially lol'ed at her name proved to be quite an amazing fighter, smart, and a girl with an unshattering resolve. Let's not forget Einhart's wish to get stronger, as well as her solid resolve, and just flat-out complex character. In the end, I ended up choosing... Spoiler Everyone! Hell, even the extra characters too! 8D Edited July 12, 2020 by Honor_Hand

It's kinda nice to watch a show that doesn't have any drama (well, nearly no drama lol), just a story about five girls creating a music club, that's basically the entire story, it's a very simple plot. Great animation as expected from KyoAni, sound is also superb which was expected from a show the centres around a music club. Great cast of characters, cute, all have different personalities.
