Basically it's an opportunity for the Australian members of the PSNP community to come together and play/discuss video games (oh and there’s also some sort of competition here too). The competition will begin at 12:00am 1st March 2018 and end at 11:59pm 30th November 2018. To be eligible to enter you must: be Australian that is listed on the leaderboard here on PSNP, have one player using your PSN ID (this will be tough to prove so as long as you don't have something like 500 games earning 7 trophies each day consistently then you should be okay) and be willing to participate in the thread (we don’t want people that are going to sign up and then never be heard from again). In an attempt to screen participants and weed these people out, you must have at least 50 posts in the forums to be considered for a spot in this competition. Scores will be updated a few days into each month, however the stats used to earn points will have a cut-off at the end of each month (i.e the first update will be in early April but only trophies earned up to 11:59pm 31st March will be considered for scoring points). This allows people some time to update their profile ready for score updates. At the conclusion of the competition, the participant with the highest number of points in each division will be declared as champions and will be forever remembered by being placed into the Hall of Fame (yes it's actually a thing). Scoring: There are 4 ways to earn points in this competition: points awarded at the end of each month for earning trophies, points awarded every 3 months for game completion percentage, backlog challenge and "fame and shame". Below is a further explanation on how to earn points in each of these methods. Earning Trophies - each trophies that you earn throughout the month will have a value equivalent to 1/10th of the points the trophy is worth on the PSNP leaderboard (i.e. bronze = 1.5 points, silver = 3 points, gold = 9 points & platinum = 18 points). At the end of the month, the total value of your trophies will be calculated and added to your overall score. Completion Percentage - at the end of every 3rd month (May, August & November) each participant’s game completion on their PSNP profile will be compared to their previous value and everybody will be ranked (for each division) based upon the largest increase for game completion percentage. 1st place = 200 points, 2nd = 150 points, 3rd = 100 points and anybody else who increased their completion percentage will be awarded 50 points. However, if your completion percentage decreases then you will not receive any bonus points (this includes the players who place 1st, 2nd and 3rd!). Backlog Challenge - each participant can nominate 10 games from their backlog (because we all suffer from this dreaded curse) that they plan to play throughout the season and earn points for completing them. Once you have named your 10 choices you won't be able to change them so pick carefully, choices must be submitted by the commencement of the competition. To be eligible for this category games must: either not appear on your profile (having not been played yet) or have a completion of 10% or less if it already appears on your profile, the game must have been released prior to 31st December 2016 and the game must have a platinum trophy (it can be a retail or digital release). You can select your backlog games from any PlayStation system! Please note that there will be a 10% bonus for backlog games you select that are from the PS3 or PS Vita. However, the 10% bonus will only apply to a maximum of 5 titles. This means that you can still pick a combination of 10 PS3/PS Vita games but only 5 games will receive the bonus, you must nominate the games you will be applying the bonus to when you submit your backlog list. Each backlog game will be worth a maximum of 400 points! The final points awarded for each game are calculated based upon rarity of the platinum trophy at the end of the month it was earned, the formula being used for calculations is 400 x (1 - rarity). Rarity will be rounded to a single decimal place and points will be rounded to the nearest .5 point. Therefore, a platinum has a 12.94% rarity will earn a total of 348.5 points (400 x 0.871 - then rounded). Nobody has ever managed to completed their backlog in the history of the competition so for anybody who achieves this almighty feat, they will be awarded a massive 1 bonus point! ? Fame and Shame - each month the player from each division who earns the rarest platinum will earn "fame" along with 10 points, likewise the player from each division who earns the most common trophy will earn "shame" along with a deduction of 10 points. I know a few of you have been waiting for some news or even an update. We've got an exciting competition ahead of us this year and I'm looking forward to seeing it play out. As @TheWayne-o mentioned, will we finally see a player complete their nominated backlog? I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes, I will. Probably won't fair too well against division 1 heavy weights such as @fisty123 and the like, but some of the new names signing up have impressive profiles which still might be enough to keep me in the relegation zone! That's the thing, i've just about done all the spam i could find off our "EU" store and have always been intrigued by going down that path but could never bring myself to create all the accounts and purchase a crap ton of PSN cards (Money isn't the issue here, just the effort) Curious, is that what everyone does? Or are there master accounts that select few people own and people just pay them a hefty fee to temporarily use the accounts to just download the games? I could see the latter being quite beneficial to said account owners, hence my curiosity. Sorry for going off topic but our beloved Google cant seem to help me with these questions.
