Why DICE decided against adding more trophies with the updates, like they did Battlefield 1, I’ve no idea. I would’ve happily carried on going for those trophies whilst levelling up each Class.

It's done! Monster Hunter World has been conquered as my #50th plat milestone! 

 

In what is a bizarre turn of events, I managed to get the two crowns I needed for the base game in about an hour and a half... after spending 40 hours last week and only nabbin' a single crown for the Iceborne expansion. Additionally was shocked to see the trophy for hunting the tempered monsters pop after only killing a few of them, because I did not think I'd killed enough of them to pop it that fast. 

 

I'm really satisfied to earn this plat after my last one being Unravel which I earned in late December 2020. I still got the Iceborne plat to return to at some point, but for now I can finally rest easy and play other games for awhile.

Killzone Mercenary (PSVita)

The Blood Bank trophy (Kill 10,000 enemies ) is a grindy one. And at first I had decided to play only a couple of games per day but I then I thought; let's just finish this now! So I have played the ' Diplomatic incident' level over and over again until this one and the Plat popped. Happy to have this on my list done, it took me 5 years and 9 months.

 

Lord of the Rings: War in the North (PS3)

After solving the glitch decided to do the heroic and legendary run straight after each other. Bit too much of LotR for my taste but I was fearing that I would keep postponing the legendary run too long I would than disregard it. Two tips on how to avoid/solve glitches:

 

- disable automatic cloud saving and save manually every time you finish a chapter. Just to be safe

- in Chapter 5; ALWAYS make the 'captive' side quest

 

this one took me 7 years and 11 months....

 

The Division 2 (PS4)

The game got me lured back in again. Had some fun with it (non trophy related). But did finish the DC Outskirts DLC pack this week. Question if somebody already has earned the Extreme Manhunt ; what method did you use? I see different solutions on this and other fora.

Finally made it into the 80s. Completed Astro's Playroom. What an amazing game. Always thought my first PS5 Platinum trophy would be God of War Ragnarok or Horizon Forbidden West as I did not plan on getting a PS5 until either game was released but I have no regrets now. It definitely puts in perspective how far Sony's Playstation Division has come. Also, it let me know how old I've gotten ?? but that's besides the point. Now, onto Control, another game I started so it should increase my completion percentage even more as it's already counted against it. Stay in the grind everyone. Love seeing all the progress you all are doing.

Wow 10 weeks so far, it seems like just last month I started this.  Thanks to everyone for the support so far, it has been a huge help with all the cleanup work!!!

 

So this week was a big one for me, 2 platinums, 10 DLCs finished, and 43 trophies off my unearned list.  Ok so they were all from games already started but still wow.

 

inFamous Second Son:

This was the bulk of my trophies and my first platinum of the week.  I had forgotten how fun the series was, so I will be moving inFamous: First Light up the backlog list, not right away but not so long in between.  I was a little disappointed in how short the story seemed compared to first 2 in the series but it was still fun to play and I felt held up well for a 7 year old game.

 

Minecraft (PS4):

This one was clean up of the multiplayer trophies and a few others DLCs there I had 1 or 2 trophies left per DLC.  I met a very nice man who told me about the support added to let ps4 players on realms crossplay, then pointed me to his realms server where he had the setup for the few I was still missing.  The multiplayer trophies I needed (2 of them), I thought 1 of them Cupid (kill 2 people with arrows in one round) needed to be done with 3 people, and the other was the open every chest in a round, and when they did the update that made it public only I just let it go as I was too lazy to join a boosting session for it and at the time only had 1 controller.  It was thanks to boosting on my vita version (see below) that I found out how to do cupid with only 2 people and wanted to test out what I did with vita and make sure it was a fluke.  I also did the chest one as I now have 2 controllers so figured why not.  The PS4 version is now at 100% (until they release a new dlc and more trophies) and I cleaned up 7 DLCs 100%

 

Minecraft (Vita):

So for this I heard a rumor that the multiplayer servers for vita might be shutting down soon as they have seen a huge decrease in people playing on them, not surprising as they drop you in the middle of matches with you have more than 1 person all the time.  So I signed up for a boosting session, got bored with waiting for enough people to show up, and decided to buy a second copy and setup a 2nd account.  So thanks to vita in one hand, a pstv controller in the other I was able to self boost all of the multiplayer trophies but the 2 I still need I still needed even in PS4 (see above).  It was during matches (100 points of dmg) I discovered that a totem of undying had spawned in a chest in crucible map.  I figured why not try it, so I held it and shot myself with the other account and bam it worked, it counted as 2 kills in 1 round.  I did a little research and the last dlc to be added to vita had add the totem of undying popping in certain map at the center chests.  I did a little experimenting and found crucible and cove always spawned them but you have to play on long play and wait until about 1 to 2 minutes left in the match.  They could spawn before that but the longer you waited the higher the chance.  I then tested this on PS4 and it worked there too.  So I helped a few people in the group were over seas (from me) who were on at the wrong times to get there multiplayer trophies for vita and ps4 as I had a way now to do them all with just 2 players.  I am sure I am not the first to find this out, but I did put a post about it in Minecraft vita section as it has the smallest group of active players and unlike ps3 and ps4 versions can't host a second player locally  (i.e. logging in a second controller on one console.) 

 

So thanks to the 2nd account I was able to my diamonds to you trophies and that gave me the drive to finish the remaining ones for the platinum, and keep working on the DLC's.  I sitll have 5 trophies to go to 100% it, but I managed the platinum, and 3 of the DLCs complete this last week.

I am still working on the last 5 trophies for the vita version, had to start a new world as the one I was playing in that had a lot of hours put into it, had no villagers and was 3 small islands and getting nethermen to spawn is next to impossible on small islands.  

 

Persona 4 Golden:

I only need 5 trophies and it is platinumed and done and since I am 11 trophies from my 4000th I want the platinum for it to be #4000.  so I will do 3 of them, and get it set up so all I have to do is beat the ng+ boss and that will give me their trophy and the platinum.

 

Dragon's Crown: 

Going to work on this one a bit too.

 

and that will probably be most of my week, (minecraft has been the first 2 days so far lol).

I finished the story from Batman Arkham City and played the Catwoman and Harley Quinn DLC's. Now working on all the Riddler trophies and the Phone Booth killer. If its the one AR challenge I'm thinking of, it can be frustrating. If it's the one in the Bowery under the glass dome, you have to lift from the dive quite slowly to go over the fence to not hit the girders as you glide. Not sure if that is the one you mean, but tis the one I had troubles with.

 

As to the combat, don't worry about trying to get fancy moves in. Practice the punch, counter, stun and jump over moves in the early challenges. Once you get a good combo up, the scores rack up quickly. The main thing is to try not to get hit too often between combos. If you can always try and finish the round with a ground pound after a combo it will give you quite a bit of points.

Assassins Creed Valhalla

No trophy progress but a lot of progress collectables and story wise. Just a big gap between trophies mid game. I feel a lot will pop at the end when I have clear all areas and that will be a great feeling. 

 

Bioshock Infinite

Almost finished the main campaign. I will play the DLC in Rapture as well but that is all. I'm not chasing the Plat, but I am chasing 60% or better. 

 

Skylanders Trap Team

I have been playing this game again with my wife and it is a pretty fun couch co-op game. again, I don't know if I will go for the Plat but 90% or better would be great. 

 

Overall these three games should give me an increase of 1% - both Bioshock and Trap Team are backlog game that have been sitting at around 20% for 6ish years. It will feel great to get them higher. Plus it's free profile % - I don't need to go backwards to go forward.

Pretty good week where I made a little bit of progress in a bunch of different games. Starting Remnant dropped me back to 34.00%, but then I made up for it by platting Gris and getting most of the trophies in Huntdown. I also broke out the Vita again since I'll be watching a lot of TV in the coming days.

 

Games played -
Remnant From the Ashes - just at 8% complete, this one will take a while.
Gris - got the plat in about 8 hours over 2 days. 
Huntdown - played as part of the Kill Your Completion challenge and got it to 73% complete.
DBFZ - Used the log in glitch to get the 20 mil zeni trophy.
Goat Simulator DLC - finished Goat MMORPG, still have the other 3 to do.
Sound Shapes DLC - finally bought the DLC bundle to get the Vita version to 100%. 
GG Xrd Sign - tested my self-boosting setup and picked up a few online trophies. 
Samurai Warriors 4 - Persona 5 Strikers got me in the mood for some classic musou so I've got this and DW8XL on Vita to play while watching March Madness.

This will be my only update until after I get back from a trip next week. Some pretty Good progress overall and things are finally really moving in the right direction, even with The Outer Worlds dropping another DLC giving me a small dip PCG but I am back above that point again. 

 

To A rank: Rogue Aces. I started this game a long while back and never got really into it. Well this time around I am starting to get the hang of it and nabbed a bunch of the low hanging trophies to raise my PCG up quite a bit and there are still some easy ones left over to get. Those will have to wait though. 

 

To B Rank: Fall Guys. My goal was to get the Level 25 trophy before the new season and I did it thanks to double XP until the 22nd when season four begins, which does look pretty sweet. I should be able to get this up to A rank, which by grinding to 40 and a few other randoms will do it. After that who knows. In all my games played, I am still on only two round wins and no episode wins. The last round win was by luck as I got hit by a hammer and it hit me past the leader through the finish line for the steal.

To A Rank: Skyrim. completed the Companion Questline and escaped from Solitude jail. Next will be all the standing stones, I have 7, as well as the embassy mission for the main quest. 

 

To B Rank. Gris. Last Random trophy to get is the Flamingos,  Eel escape with no damage and then doing the quest to get all the memories. Also Word Search, Got the one for beating your own time now I can work on the rest.  

 

To C Rank: Idle Champions. Another game I am actually pretty close to a level up. 

 

To Rank D :On my trip I am taking Final Fantasy X with me for the Vita. I will try to get to the All come Together trophy. I have made a guide in a notebook to keep from having to backtrack too much later on. 

 

On a side note, I forgot all about the Vita feature to play my PS4 games. So I can use that to play my good game while kids are in school and not distract them. It is good for simple games like the Word searches that dont need to use the L2 or R2.

As I've recently come back into hunting some trophies I'd like to join to keep an up-to-date account in the thread! Never been into thropy hunting as much on the Playstation after moving over from the X360 last generation. Currently sitting at 33.25 and I'd like to get to 50% by the end of the year. I've also decided to not start a new game until either I've reached 50% or Battlefield 6 comes out.

Thanks for the tip, I was hitting triangle button all the time and still getting hit, the evade move is much better. Got the 50x combo this way.

No it was the one in the Amusement Mile / Industrial District where you have to gilde through a small corridor just above the water. Next day I got it in 2 tries, I hate that even more.....

It’s kinda sad to say but in AC’s Combat maps you can legit spam evade and the basic strike move and easily 3 medal every single map(with all 4 characters) 

Obv you still gotta specific moves depending on the enemies(like heavys, or shield foes) but tbh I really find playing like that super boring. If you want the trophies the easiest that’s the ticket tho.

 

I would add that Batman’s Square+Cross move is very good at building your combos tho.

100%ed Rock of Ages - PS3, this one was funny in the beginning but got very boring near the end

100%ed Treasures of Montezuma Blitz - Vita, was only missing the 100h trophy, I left my Vita near as I worked and clicked play when new lives showed up and yeah, guess I clicked play around 6000 times probably for at least 2 months lol (I was able to sum around 2 ~ 3h per day to the game clock)

Plat on Maquette - PS5, this one was quite fast

Plat on Concrete Genie - PS4, another fast one, but now those 3 VR trophies will stay quite a while on my backlog cause I don't have a VR, maybe will get one by the end of the year

DJ Max Technika Tune - Vita, made some very good progress on this one, got the 99K combo trophy, the 3 trophies for performance (S++ "perfect play" on star mode (basically, easy mode), S+ on pop mode (normal mode) and S+ on club mode (hard mode) so now I have to grind to lvl 99 and clear all songs at least once

Planet Coaster (PS5)

 

Finished the platinum on this one. It's a lot of fun, and a nice change of pace from the games I typically would play.

 

Phogs (PS4)

 

I finished the platinum on this one too. It can be played entirely single player, but is quite obviously supposed to be a co-op experience. Sadly, I probably wouldn't recommend it to anyone. There are really some good ideas here, but the controls can be absolutely infuriating, and I was constantly getting stuck in the environment. I only finished it off because I didn't want it mess up my completion % and it really wasn't too hard to finish.

 

Destruction Allstars (PS5)

 

After probably 10 hours trying to get Boxtop's and TwinkleR10t's trophies, I lucked out and got them each in back to back matches - which was really exciting. I'm down to just one trophy to go. I need to wreck the entire other team in one match with Ratu's hero car's special attack. I've tried a ton but no luck so far. There's some pretty well documented problems with this one - including people being able to keep you from getting it by simply staying in the lobby if they are eliminated. I know that it's possible - around 5 people it seems are getting it every day still - but I don't know if I'll ever manage it. Half the time I queue up for a match I'm unable to find one. I think they just need to downgrade some of the settings and get this working on PS4 as well so that there is a better player base. I'll keep trying here and there, but I'm afraid this one may end up being and eternal 97% complete =(

 

Last Day of June (PS4)

 

This one was completed 100%. A quick indie story driven game with cool time travel cause and effect gameplay where you can play through the events of a day as 4 different characters trying to change the outcome of that day. What you do as one player changes what is possible if you switch over to another character. So you are replaying the day switching back and forth between the characters after each run trying to get everything to work out just right. It's cool without being overly complicated and can be completed in 4-6 hours tops. I really enjoyed it although it is a bit of an emotional gut punch. There's not platinum (just 21 bronze trophies) but I felt very much worth the playthrough.

 

The Last Campfire (PS4)

 

I got the platinum on this as well. It's a short, simple, cute and well done indie game with light puzzle and exploration elements. 

 

Maquette (PS5)

 

Another short puzzle game I got the plat on. Very cool recursive mechanics that were really well implemented and didn't outstay it's welcome. 4-5 hours total.

 

Dirt 5 (PS5)

 

I'm slowly making my way through this. I enjoy racing games, but only in short bursts. It will probably be something I only play a couple hours a week for a month or two until i eventually finish it. I don't think I'll be able to make it my main game - it'll just be a side game - but it is fun and I'm enjoying my time with it.

 

Outer Wilds (PS4)

 

I completed this game and man was it a great experience! The year it came out it made a lot of the lists as contenders for game of the year in a lot of places and now I know why! The exploration was always interesting and I loved finding clues throughout the game and trying to piece together what was going on and following the bread crumb trails to completion. I absolutely would recommend this to anyone. The less you know the better. The game doesn't give you too much direction, you are expected to find your own direction from the clues that you find. There is a great "rumor map" that the game keeps up for you so that you can look through all the clues you've gotten previously so that you don't have to keep everything in memory. If you like a good mystery and enjoy exploring and putting clues together. definitely check this one out.

 

As a side note, the trophy "Hotshot" for manually landing on a research station orbiting the sun was one of the most fun I've had going for a trophy. Trying to get on that station while you battle getting too close to the Sun and getting sucked in, or too far out and getting flung out into space while the roar of the sun fills your ears and you're flying super fast hanging on by the skin of your teeth... Man. It was such a rush and I loved it even though it took quite a bit of practice to get it right.

- Keep trying a couple times a day to finish off Destruction Allstars.

- Chip away at Dirt 5 here and there.

- I'm not sure what will be my next "main" game. I'm thinking of either starting Godfall or Immortals: Fenyx Rising. Or like what usually happens is I'll decide at the last minute to do something totally different =P

Another Monday, another update

 

My completion percentage has raised more than 2% since the start of this event. Still 4% to go!

 

Infamous Second Son (PS4)

Decided to restart this one. Did complete the game once but didn't kept the save file so needed to start from scratch again. First run I will do all the collectibles in good Karma and hopefully the second run for bad Karma doesn't take too long. Don't get me wrong; it is a good game and controls are fluid. It just doesn't grab me by the throat sort to speak. Story is a bit lame.

 

Riddled Corpses Ex (PSVita)

I was thinking 'let's do an easy one' after KZ Mercenary. I don't know why but I kind of suck big time with this game. Completion rate on PSNprofile is really high but I have so many difficulties to get through it. Strange how certain games can be a pain....

Update #12

 

This was a short gaming week for me, my wife refused to let me play much last Thursday so I only got what time I could sneak in, and Because I started vacation mid-week the start of the week was very work heavy to clean up my work projects.  I did though manage to get 3 games cleaned up, and off my list of still out there, as well as hit my 4000th trophy Sunday morning.  I only managed a .46% increase overall this last week, but I am now at 5.13% out of my 6.67% goal.   .

 

Minecraft (Vita):

Most of my week went into this one.  I was rebuilding my plat world and managed to get a great seed this time, where I had a village with a cleric, also a huge (by vita standards) nether fortress with 2 blaze spawners, and plenty of walkways for getting skele skulls.  So have I have a world set up to respawn the dragon, spawn the wither, and easy enough to get other components.  (if anyone needs any help let me know.)  Thankfully I was able to clean up the last few trophies and finish off the last 3 DLC's for this game and get it to 100% complete, YEA!!!

 

Dragon's Crown (Vita):

So I only got 1 trophy this week and it was a super fast super easy one cause I needed one more trophy after finishing Minecraft to get to within 5 of my 4000th.

 

Persona 4 Golden:

This was the 2nd time demanding part of my week, as I had to do the ng+ run but also re-enjoy the story .  I was aiming for this game to be my 4000th trophy and on Sunday morning it was.  I forgot how much I like the persona series I will need to go back and finish off persona 5.  I can't believe I had left this game with 5 trophies left for about 7 years.  This game was the initial reason I bought a Vita.  Glad to finish it off and enjoy it in the process, and yes on my ng+ I did the harem finish where I was lover status with all the girls.  It only got super awkward on valentine's day when they were giving me chocolates and asking why I wasn't spending the day with them...

 

House Flipper DLC:

Since the DLC finally dropped on Thursday, I treated myself to it's purchase as I was my birthday and I felt I should lol.  I had played this on PC so I knew what to do for the trophies, I didn't know that over half of them were going to be GLITCHED pieces of crap.  That being said someone in the forum found a semi-workable solution of restarting your ps4, reimporting an older save file before the trophy was to pop and doing that trophy again.  It seems only the ones the ones that take more than one map to complete are the glitched ones, I started wonder if frozen district (devs) hired a bunch of people from Hangar 13 (mafia 3 devs).  It is now complete, and what use to be a fun relaxing game before the glitched trophies can now go back to a fun relaxing game.

For this coming week, not sure I am on Vacation for the whole week and so is my wife, our 19th wedding anniversary is this coming Thursday so I am not sure how much gaming time I will get this week.  Some to be sure, but I will be taking some time away from games to spend some time with her.  And if anyone caught the 2 thursday thing, that is the easy way to never forget your anniversary lol.

House Flipper trophies have always been a hot mess for PS4. It took me three times from scratch to get the 50 houses sold and finally i got it after a patch was released. I did notice these have problems too. I did one of the 5 star trophies and it did not pop afterwards. It is a great update though.
