Finally got around to finishing off the other playthrough in Shiness and with that my 3rd tier is complete. The game was pretty fun in general and didn't overstay its welcome. As usual I'm not sure what games I'm gonna do for the next tier, but I'll post again when I've decided on the games for my 4th tier.

Haven't updated in a bit but I am still in this.  After I finish Jak and Daxter next week I'd like to have Epic Mickey 2 be #100 for me.  Try to step up my game in terms of platinum difficulty for my second 100.

Also knocked the story out for Fancy Pants Adventures.  Not a fan of how floaty the platforming feels but oh well.  Will try to finish that after Epic Mickey 2.  Then on to finishing Castlestorm.

Today I finished my fourth game from Tier 1... Limbo!!

 

 

Limbo is a fun little game. You aren’t told anything when you start so have to figure out what to do on your own, though it’s quite simple. Some of the puzzles at first take can take a few minutes of working out and a bit of trial and error!

 

My favourite thing about Limbo is the dark and eery atmosphere. There is next to no music, but when there is I feel it’s been done so well. The uplifting sound of light brings hope that you’re almost out of the nightmare, only for it to come crushing down instantly with the noise of yet more gruesome traps, saw blades and puzzles. Or the deep tone when faced with a new and cruel enemy or twist in the story.

 

Limbo was a stepping stone for me in practice of a full game no death run. The most difficult trophy requires you to complete the game in 1 sitting with 5 or less deaths. Not bad considering it’s 45-50 minutes long. I managed to clear the game on my second attempt with only 2 (stupid, really stupid) deaths early on in the game. The reason for the want of a no death run is for my Tier 2 list which I’m really looking forward to making a start on and sharing with you all! Hopefully I can finish up the grind in my last game in the next few weeks!

Finished my 4th Tier 2 game today: Limbo! I really liked this game, the style, story, puzzles, platforming.. everything in this game was really good, though I have to say that after talking about it a bit with others and thinking about it myself, I'm still unsure about a lot of story aspects, but the way how people can interpret this game is very interesting and well done as well.

It wasn't a particularly challenging 100%. The hardest trophy is for completing the game in 1 sitting and with 5 deaths or less. This is mostly about knowing what to do, as most of my earlier deaths came from figuring out what to do. The execution wasn't hard, apart from just a couple jumps that need some specific timing.

Time Crisis: Razing Storm

This has been sitting in my backlog for a solid 4 years. Only the Sentry mode was left at this point. Got a lot of luck with the hardest trophy in sentry mode since I wasn't consistent enough to get perfects on the final stage but ended up getting them all when I got perfects on stage 1 and 2 for the first time. This could have easily taken me a couple more days to complete so I am feeling really lucky.

 

Another game I have been playing is Shovel Knight. I got the platinum a while back but still had 3 characters to do for the 100%. The DLC are just as lengthy as the platinum, requiring multiple playthroughs, including, new game+, speedrun and low%. I finished Plague Knight a couple days ago. At first this character is hard to get used to but it was more and more enjoyable with every playthrough. Spectre Knight will be the next characters and that one looks a lot of fun to play too.

 

Tier 2 will be a couple of fast games that I want to play. I will be added 2 times Giana Sisters. 1 for normal play and the second will be an attempt for the fastest achievers.

Update - Tier 2 finished!

 

 

I finally completed my fifth game of Tier 2, Hunt: Showdown, together with @Exhuman1988. It's a pretty unique, match-based PvPvE game by Crytek with some interesting ideas and a good atmosphere, as well as fantastic sound design. At the beginning we got absolutely destroyed by other Hunters as we were still learning all the mechanics and I think this game has quite the "hardcore" playerbase. Then, during the middle part when we started getting some kills, it was really enjoyable. However, as it dragged on for a little over 100 hours, the grind started getting a bit repetitive and annoying.

Unrelated to this event:

I've been also playing many other games lately, so I finally finished my nemesis from software game Sekiro - wasn't too bad after all
And I just completed Resident Evil Village. A truly fantastic game and continuation to 7. Can only recommend.

 

 

Now it's on to Tier 3. This will be a big one...

With ESO in this list, this might be my final tier, but this will give me some extra motivation to try and get the 100% until the end of this year.
I will also be going for the "Additional Trophies" stack of course, but I thought 5 individual games for the tier look a bit more pleasing.

I've finished the first game on my Tier 4 list, Torment: Tides of Numenera. Overall the game was good fun and I enjoyed it more than I expected. I've also made some decent progress on Little Deviants too. However I'll probably have to end up swapping out Secret Ponchos as I mistook which stack I needed to do and I don't own the game for that stack, nor do I want to pay full price for it now just to boost lol. I'm not officially swapping it out yet, but I probably will end up doing so in the future, once I decide what other games to put into my list.

Skullgirls Encore complete. I honestly have no idea why this 100% is as rare as it is. There’s nothing even remotely hard here. As was the the case with 2nd encore the story is depressing as hell. If you want an easy 100% for future tiers I would recommend this one. 
 

Arcana Heart is really starting to annoy me. There’s a trophy for watching all of the unique pre-fight intros and I could have sworn I watched all of them but still no trophy pop so it looks like I’m going to have to go through the entire list again. Thankfully I finished with the online so at least I have that out of the way.

Okay so I'm getting close to obtaining another Ultra Rare platinum so I might as well write down my second tier list before I forget about it and it doesn't count anymore. I wanna do some cleanup first so I will focus on my unfinished games. Geometry Wars 3 ended up being a lot of fun. I started this years ago, and it felt great to go back and finally finish it up. It took some practice, but overall it wasn't anything too crazy. I ended up doing the co-op by myself as it was very doable to get max rank just by ignoring your 2nd player for most stages. That said, it was incredibly awkward to have to use the D-pad or face buttons to move or shoot. There was one stage that I almost had to grab my partner to do, but I was able to complete it after I had a better understanding of how the level worked.

 

A lot of my PS4 time has been used up by Fenix Rage. It's a great game, but it's a buggy piece of trash when it comes to trophies. Aside from losing my progress a few times due to the game hanging on the save screen occasionally, the 5k/10k death trophies are incredibly bugged. I managed to get the 5k trophy at around 25k deaths when it felt like popping, but I've had no luck getting the 10k trophy. The game itself only took a handful of hours, but I've put dozens into trying to get these death trophies to pop. Hopefully I'll be able to claim the completion one day, but I feel it's all up to luck at this point. It probably would have been better for me to drop it sooner, but I'm being really stubborn on this game for some reason.

 

I ended up hopping onto Ys Origin and that's going surprisingly well as I've heard some issues with this game. All I have left in that one is 2 more Nightmare playthroughs and hitting max level on a Very Easy playthrough (which is just a bit of a grind). I'll probably start on Atari Flashbacks soon as I'm in some need of quicker gratification after these past couple games.

How many times did you die in total during your successful boss rush?

Do you have a physical or digital version of the game?

Am I the most unlucky Ys Origin player ever?

Congrats though!

I appreciate it! I know how you feel as I'm going through similar issues with Fenix Furia, and it's definitely not fun.

 

I haven't had any crashes with the game in general yet. I'm not sure how many times I died, but the whole run took about 1.5h using Hugo EX. I'm playing the digital version on a PS4 Pro. I was definitely getting worried after throwing a bunch of attempts at Dalles that it would end up crashing.
