Can we please get an option to get rid of the "H" for hidden games?

I am in some kind of a dilemma.

On the one hand did I unintentionally get a single trophy in a game that I will never every touch so I don't want to show it on my PSN Profile but on the other hand I don't want to be branded with the blue "H".

 

My trophies are not important for anyone beside me but both options displease me.

 

Are there any plans to add an option to Premium users to get rid of the blue H? I would literally pay more for that option.

If you feel the need to hide games on your profile, I think others should know you’re doing so. Then again if you know your trophies are only important to you, just unhide them.

therein lies the dilemma... i too have an H on my profile... because in the past people played games on my account when I had a roommate... but because I use this site to track what "I" have done...I hid them away... no shame in it... it doesn't bother me..if people see it and think less of someone for having it, that's on them...

You can just block that particular element in your browser so you'll never have to see it. Anyone else visiting your profile can still see it though.

They could make it so that only mods see 'H' but don't expect many quality of life updates on this site.

I think it's a good thing that the H is there & visible since it serves 2 functions. It can either A, let you know if some of your games are hidden since PSN LOVES hiding your games randomly. & B, lets other people know your hiding your games, you'd never be able to tell a real 100% completion account from a fake one if the H wasn't visible. I honestly don't understand how having the H there is in anyway a problem honestly

It's good knowing for those who have had disputes that were not lifted. If that person is known for having illegal trophies, those threads and that symbol help identify if they need to be looked at more critically.

If you think that blue H is so important, than at least you should fix the site so it works correctly... 

I have this ugly blue H Now, not because i have hidden trophies, but because this site cant read/understand/display my earned and unhidden trophies from the newer DLCs for Train Sim World 2!

Just don't hide stuff - be proud of your defeats, as well as your victories - that's your gaming story, and the failures are where the best stories always lie!

Eh - I think it should stay, so the site trophy counts make sense, and tie-up to the real PSN values... but... nah, it doesn't.

It doesn't even come close, really.

 

It doesn't tell you, for example, if someone started a new account over, just to get 100%.

It doesn't tell you if they cheated any trophies.

It doesn't tell you if it is a team account, or if other players are helping via shareplay.

It doesn't tell you if they used pay-for-trophy services.

it doesn't tell you if the person is using "alt" accounts to test games before they put them on their "real" account.

It doesn't tell you if people are just avoiding games they son't think they'd manage.

I don't see any problem with that, you can start a new account if you want. If you get 100% on this new account, congrats.

So?? I play what I want to play or what I enjoy playing, if someone is avoinding playing a game because of trophies that's not my problem.

Yes, it does come close, remove the H to see how many more 100% you would see here or at least at a higher percentage.

Also, are those arguments to remove the H?

It’s not your problem either way - whatever someone else does with their account. That’s kinda my point.

If you disqualified everyone who had restarted with a new account, you’d also see a reduction in the number of 100% profiles…

When i bought my ps4 before trophy hunting became a thing for me i had bought a ps now subscription and the streaming capabilities of it were underwhelming to say the least.  I made the mistake of streaming about 8 or so ps3 games and out of them all about 3 or 4 of the games i played long enough to pop one trophy.  I also put quite a few other games on my list I didn't like enough to finish.  

 

Fast forward a year and I earned my 1st platinum trophy.  I had no concept of what  had gotten myself into. I can say though it didn't take long for all those incomplete D and E rank games to start bothering me sitting next to that S Rank.  Anyway after earning about my 10th platinum maybe 4 or 5 months later I hid about 15 games because as someone else said it was really for my OCD I had no concept or idea anybody else might care about what I did with my list.  

 

As the 1st year or two progressed i would come across people playing some of my hidden games and I'd get into it and finish it.  One of the 1st was Infinite warfare.  I wasn't much into zombies and at the time it was a monumental task.  However, within a month it was finished.  i decided to tackle bo3.  a few months later i had the platinum and a few years until the 100%.  I borrowed a ps3 and finished the ps3 games, the last one not all that long ago.  I hated dying light but managed to play it long enough to earn the platinum and of those first 15 games it is the only one not 100%.   

 

My point is if you don't like the H do something about it.  This isn't mandatory it's gaming.  it's meaningless really.  However, its not like your country called you up to go to war, or you boss asked you to clean the bathrooms, or mom made you pick up the dog poop.  If you want the s rank go get it. it's within your reach.  If you procrastinated playing a game past the point the servers shut down well let's ask ourself honestly, did you really want it?   or is what you really want is for someone to help you along by changing the rules and removing the H.  After all, that would be much easier then finishing what we started.  When i had my H i had 3 options, live with it, unhide the games, or finish the games.  These are your options, so what are you gonna do?  That is actually a lot of choice when you think about it so decide!

That is still a 100% account. My account now is significantly better than my old one ever was for both quality of games played, vision of what I want my account to look like, and completion rate

The problem is with removing the H, not hiding trophies. The H help us to have a more accurate account percentage completions.

All I’m saying is, let’s not pretend there is some major philosophical difference between starting over, and hiding trophies.

 

Folks act like hiding trophies is something to be ashamed about, yet have no issue with someone starting over - seems an odd disparity to me.

 

I mean, in theory, you could have just hidden every game on your old profile at that same point in time that you started over, and it would have achieved the same thing…

…only on this site, the general consensus seems to be that one is markedly “worse” than the other. 
 

Which, actually, now that I think about it, is not even a little true - as the ‘hiding’ option wouldn’t have allowed you to replay any games you already knew you could beat…

…so technically, it would be the more difficult option, I suppose ?

like it or not, the Blue H has a negative stigma on this site because the first thing ppl think is "that person hacked trophies and was flagged by the cheater removal team and hid their flagged games to re-appear on the leaderboards"

 

the official advice from CRT members to flagged members is to "hide any games u have cheated but haven't been flagged for yet"

 

lets not also forget that this site still proudly displays how many cheaters have been removed from the leaderboards 

 

it is obvious that ppl who may have hidden games for any other number of innocent reasons would feel displeased about having an H on their profile, since there isn't any way to distinguish them from other gamers who have an H from cheating/being flagged

They are quite different though. Starting over means leaving behind trophies that you had already obtained, some of which might be very hard to get or no longer obtainable. If that's an exchange you're willing to make, that's great. Equating this to hiding your trophies misses the point of this thread. The OP wants his cake and eat it too.

Right well first of all I've fielded plenty of derision about starting over so let's just be clear about that. And anyway there IS a difference and that is accountability. People like me decided that their accounts weren't working for them and they made what was likely a difficult choice: lose things they cared about and may never get again but gain the ability to make what they want actually happen, or to not do that and deal with the account they have. What the OP and others have suggested is to be able to just pretend like the things they don't like on their accounts don't exist and not even "suffer" the consequence of having a symbol marking their choice. 

 

Allow that and 100% accounts, which already receive mostly negative attention, will be cheapened unfairly.
