First platinum of the year. I basically just mopped this up real quick because my nephew decided to put it on my profile lol. This is one of those "why the hell is it UR" kind of games. Very easy platinum but it does require a few friends or enough devices that can run the app in order to do it. It's a decent party game overall, wouldn't be my first choice but it does remind me of when I used to play Buzz with my family every christmas because gameplay wise it's along those lines.

so, on advice of my Rarity Lawyers ( @Copanele and @Destructor-8 ) - I am going to take a deep breath, steady myself against my usual reticence to pre-suppose my gaming habits, and declare a couple of my upcoming games for my first tier ?

 

 

 

 

Reason being - I've a few games that are UR right now, but have such low play counts, that me getting them done may well push them outta the UR status!

 

So my first few games for this event, will likely be:

So.... this post will serve as both my backup if I do complete them, and they stop being UR... and my first post in which the true UR elites can point and laugh at the obscure oddities I play in lieu of the usual suspects ?

Hey guys!

 

After much hair-pulling after an unintentionally self-induced required "third" playthrough (thanks to forgetting about the architect stipulation), I can say with full pleasure that my first UR2023 (and overall) plat is complete. Rogue Legacy is still one of my favorite indie, if not overall, games out there. While I did have issues that I'd not seen before thanks to dumb (un)luck, it was still a massively enjoyable experience, one that I recommend to anyone if you enjoy Metroidvanias.

It doesn’t. You’re looking at PSN trophy rarities and this event uses PSNP trophy rarities. So I’m sorry to bring you the bad news but the only game from your list that is eligible is The Evil Within.

Well that didn't make much sense to me but I don't make the rules. It would be nice to mention this in the OT for newcomers.

is wolfenstein2 that difficult i have started on death incarnate difficulty but do those difficullties stack since i read a guide on psnprofiles that it need 1 playtrough when playing on death incarnate difficultie ?

As long as it has one UR trophy then it counts, 100% only games are welcomed here

Game #2 is now finished for the event: The Escapists. Some people love it, some hate it...I very much find myself in the former category. I love playing through this game every so often. It's an underrated gem, in my opinion, but I know the style/gameplay might not be for everyone. Anyhow, to the tally...

I'm a couple days late to post my completions on this thread as I popped both of them on New Year's Day.

 

Arcana Heart 3 was a mostly fun enjoyable 2D fighter, initially I was put off by the vast amount of loli characters which I don't like. Like most fighting games on PS3, the trophies are mostly character based that require special actions to be performed. Nothing in this game was hard although the end boss fight in the story fight was irritating to fight against at first because of the damage it can cause you, I only got to grips with it when I learned how to use the homing mechanic which I can only describe it as a Superdash from Dragonball FighterZ but nowhere near as flashy and as good.

 

I had to complete the gallery and it's got the usual 'complete the story mode with every character' unlocks followed by having to see every characters link animations in a a real match. After reading 10 year old forum posts I can confidently say this game is overrated for it's difficulty, the only stopgap is having to boost the online but I have done worse online grinds in a fighting game.

 

Umbrella Corps is 95% online grind, 5% actual Campaign mode and 100% a piece of shit game. When talking about the 5%, I use the term Campaign very loosely. I only played this game because I'm a diehard Resident Evil fan and want every game in the series completed. My boosting partners and me were so efficient when we boosted the U-Trials that the last 20-30 hours were just a mindless slog of getting matches played and completed for the last U-Trial of playing an obscene 500 matches which takes 3 wins to get 1 match completed and between loading screens it took like 10 minutes+ for 1 match to be completed. Avoid at all costs. I just want to say thank you to @Mori and @Koro249

Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition

I did the 3 UR multiplayer trophies in December but I still have 3 UR trophies for completing the 3 expansion campaigns included in this version. Should not be too bad at all, just a lot of Duke. Shame I never bought this on my main account as I would have loved to play this on my Vita. Since I have it on my Hong Kong alt I have to play on my PS3 ☹️.

 

Echochrome

A puzzle game that is actually rare? It will be nice to get this off the backlog as well. It's rare because one of the trophies requires you to beat multiple levels in one go with a time limit.

 

Jetboard Joust

Not sure if this can even be done. The player base for this is only 20 people and only recently has someone gotten more then a couple of trophies. No current plat owners. It's not new either, having released in the first quarter of 2022. I am going to give it a go, but I had to declare it ahead of time because including me the player base will be 21, so the plat rate after 1 person gets it will be 4.76%. If someone gets it before me it will not be UR after I get it.

 

Nex Machina

Dunno about this, I do own it but I am historically bad at twin stick shooters. Might swap for Dead Nation, we will see how it goes.

 

Team Sonic Racing

Was planning to play this anyways since I finally had enough controllers for the 3 controller trophy. Happy to see it as a bounty. Played through the first couple worlds in Single Player so far and knocked out the online trophies just so they are not a worry. It is very stupid that the expert difficult is locked for each race until you beat it on hard. Just let me play on expert from the start! Difficulty modes should never be locked unless they radically change the game, and even then there should be like a secret code to unlock them from the get go for returning players.
