Marilagi
Honestly I want to replace my current PS5 as it is digital only but now that I'm using the console more it makes me want to get back into physical collecting and so disc PS5 Slim version maybe... glad it's got more storage this time though
Jeanolt
It looks good, although I don't understand why there's a huge space in the side of the disc drive, that feels weird. I guess it'll be my console someday, since the fat model will run out of stock. Also, I feel like every gen had problems with the fat model eventually so I prefer this one. I love my PS3 Superslim and PS4 Slim, they never gave me problems. Edited October 10, 2023 by Jeanolt

da-Noob123
The original Wi-Fi router look was bad enough, the additional bifurcation of the panels doesn't help the look. Though the mixing and matching of panels might look cool if you don't mind spending money on that.
Pumpkin Head Cthulhu
If it was a pro model then maybe down the road. currently though not interested
EverythingOnFire
People are so focused on the price increase of the digital PS5, that hardly anyone is talking about the price of the disk-drive PS5 staying the same. The whole point of a slim Playstation is to reduce production costs and then pass those savings on to the late-comer consumer with a cheaper machine. I'm not surprised BTW; just thought it deserved a mention.
DizzyDavidson
Meh. I’m perfectly fine with my launch model… PS4. 🤣 But seriously if I ever want a PS5, I will probably go with this.
sepheroithisgod
Looks cool, but really have no need for a second PS5. Being able to add a disc drive is a nice touch tho.

tony_snake_24
Uglier and pricier. Not great, but not that bad. Eventually, if I feel the need for a second console to self-boost, like I do with ps3 and 4, I'll probably buy one or the pro, if it's actually a thing. Feral
When they announced it I thought “just my luck, they’re releasing a slim right after I finally bought one.” Then I saw it and not only is it fuck ugly but also pricier. So my chunky PS5 is here to stay.
melodicmizery
pass, so far ive only used my ps5 for popping trophies. even if it was pro i dont see what more it could really do besides load times. it dont seem like the full power of playstation has ever been used until the end of its life cycle. example ps3 bioshock and gta at the end showed how much you could push compared to other games. Terra
Looks nicer than the original in my opinion. However, no reason to switch over for me. Also, only 1TB of storage? It seems so little.
Eraezr
Yawn. I'd rather skip straight to the PS5 Pro unveiling.
thebonesofYou
Looks ok but I already have the og so won’t be getting it. If it was the PS5 Pro on the other hand, then I’d definitely cop that
charxsetsuna
With how big the ps5 is, a slim is a good idea

TheWhiteMoose_
I’m not buying it, I’m perfectly happy with my OG PS5. I think the only way I’ll buy another PS5 is if something happens to by current one or if a pro model is released and is significantly better. Gooboid
Pointless ‘upgrading’ to the slim, in my opinion. I think, I’ll wait for the PS5 Pro.
Valtekken173
Why in the world is there no price cut on this model, considering it costs Sony less both to manufacture AND to ship? I'm not paying 550€ for a console, ESPECIALLY not one that cost 500€ at launch THREE DAMN YEARS AGO. The PS4 Slim was launched for 100€ less than the Fat at this exact same point in the PS4's lifecycle. Greedy bastards. Don_Chipotle
Ill wait to see it in person because at first sight is almost the same, and as stated before, any of the versions of the "old" model are very cheap and not a problem to find in stores, and as a whole, is not a bad console in general
